The reviews I got about them weren't good. Unhelpful nurses, do not encourage womanly delivery or breastfeeding etc. A woman actually said a nurse came to check her baby and after seeing that the baby had pooped, she just closed d diaper back n walked away. It was one of her visitors who was shocked that eventually cleaned up the baby.

Well the favour of God can give u an angelic nurse wink

@ Kykes do u have any info on Womens Hospital of Texas i think its in our Axis buts getting info from them via phone is a 20mins transfer to transfer matter.

also m still expecting ur email for methodist please.

There are no hidden cost. The prices only cover delivery n 2 to 3 days stay. According to the financial counsellor, anesthesia is 1500, circumcision is 102.63. U have to get a peadatrician by ur self but I'm sure ur dr. Can arrange that for u. I hear dr. Le does circumcision so u might not have to do it with the hospital. The extra costs may vary depending on if u go thru ur dr. Or thru the hospital that's y they only give u a quote for the fixed prices.

Ok not bad but St Joseph still cheaper .please what is DR Le's full name so i can check the reveiws . male or Female ?

Hi Peeps,

So i also called Methodist Sugarland last night and asked for a package for cash paying patients and they adviced as stated below

1.V- Delivery - 2530 for 48 hrs stay
Epidural - 1,500 (a must for me)

2.CS Delivery - 3,780
Epidural - 1500

this is minus Doc Fee

she kept saying its just for Delivery and its covers baby n mother.so i am actually afraid of hidden cost.

let me knw peeps if u got anything different

BVNO: All the mum in the house.....Please guide me on this...

Is there something wrong not taken folic acid during early trimester?

Actually, I was advised by my doctor not to take any medication during my trimester. I adhered to his advice.

I later discovered while searching the net, that it is good to take folic acid before and during pregnancy.

However, the reason he gave was that my body contains what the baby need during the first trismester. Now I'm in my second trimester I was giving Pronatal.

Second question

Which milk is good for a pregnant woman?.

I just got Frisomum, I don't know if it's okay.

Note: If this is not the right place to post my concerns, please pardon me .

This is surprising cos most docs will advice u to start taking Folic acid while trying to get preggy. thats my issue with SOME Naija doc . now i just google my symptoms and go to the hospital for second opinion . when i was few weeks pregg i had some slight bleeding after (u guess wat) i went to d hospital n the doc was speaking grammer saying Threatened Abortion and gave me a 28k drug to insert for 7 days on day 1 d bleeding got worst i had to stop. only to ready online that the small bleeding after (U guess wat) is not that abnormal. i never went to the hospital again , didnt take the drug after d first day. So my dear use ur Doc but always ask google too. there is alway some1 asking same questions ad u.

@ashleybaker

2700 is for CS multiple birth. It covers weekly doctors visits, fees, tests n 2 visits after birth. Dr. Le uses methodist houston which is 3100 for womanly delivery and 4800 for CS. I'll follow up with the hospital to see what their fees cover.

this sounds great. Please is it Methodist Sugarland and can i get the full details for Dr Le?

Whoa Great Thread i must say. Thanks to every one for sharing. I had my baby in Huston few years ago and i am planning to go back again soon and use same hospital.

On my first trip i didnt have any info all i knew then was i wanted my baby to be an American Citizen .I had a friend in the states an American and I Bless her till tomorrow i was skepitical about asking her but finally did and she was so happy to have me. she lived in Downtown in Houston so I had to find a hospital around there. I sent her $3,000 to hold for me then travelled with $10,000 when i got to the states i was 30 weeks but wasn’t really showing cos i had searched and ordered the perfect maternity top from Next in the UK. I travelled with KLM nice flight all the way. So arrived the US with my jeans and trainers looking like ur normal fat tourist lol. Luckily POE staff was male and didn’t notice my bump.

A day after i arrived the internet and phone where my best companions. i goggled and called and went on about 5 birthing centre Tours. Then i goggled for a doc after calling so many I settled for DR Que Traven reasons were 1. She Started practicing the year I was born(Experience) 2. I wanted a woman cos I felt a woman will understand d needs of a woman more and understand and sew back properly after d delivery Lol. 3. She had great reviews 5.she was less than 10mins away from the house by cab and a cab ride cost me only $6
The hospital I used was St Joseph Medical Centre Greatttttt Hospital . They have a package called Blessed Event Package for cash paying patients $3,000 for Virginal delivery with 2 days stay and $5500 for CS with 3 days stay. I will itemise my total bill below.

1. Cost of Hospital - $3000 + Epidural + 3 course meal for me n hubby + Lab n lots more.
2. Doc Bill - $2000
3. Circumsion - $200
4. Baby doc after birth - $1,200 negotiated to $600
5. Compulsory Hearing Text for all newborn - $ 200

Total for having my baby in the states minus passport n Visa etc was $6,000. And I had the best experience ever. I had no labour pain as I had an epidural I truly delivered like The Hebrew Women maybe better lol. I think I might use them again only am staying in Sugarland this time and thinking of using Methodist Sugarland (I need reviews on this please) though hubby said we can move to Downtown close to delivery time) one thing I want to avoid is hidden cost afterwards like sending bill for Lab and Epidural like one hospital did to my friend.

Story on getting passport in 2 days and Birth certificate same day plus my bad experience with Nigerian Embassy and Visa Renewal will follow later.

Family / Re: Husband Cheated With Previous Child's Mother by Airpure(f): 4:48am On Jun 21, 2013
sorry you are going through so much. What your husband is doing is very obvious he is laying the ground work to marry his ex as a second wife. his mind is already made up and just needs you to get with the program. look at it this way, when he said he cant bear for another man to raise his child he had 2 options to avoid that 1.take custody of the child 2.Marry the mother. the fact that he didn choose option 1 says alot. u have a son for him he cant leave you cos another man will raise his son.

i dont believe in running from a marriage because of another woman like me.if he is a good husband and a good father despite the baby mama issue u should fight for ur man after all u are his wife and she is the mistress.

Also i have a feeling his family is aware of his decision so u have to be strategic in ur actions.

Goodluck dear

my dear i ve heard stories like this over n over. this kind of woman will do anything good for u n ur family. she is 30 yrs old ,how old r u? think of it she will spend her time in ur house being jealous of u n hoping to have what u have. when people talk of elderly nanny is women over 50 n even those just come to run ur home. better u get a lil girl that concentrates on the housework will u concentrate on the baby for now.

ur first priority should be ur child. do u think such a woman will take good care of it when ur back is turned.

pls do d needful.

Sad Story.I think there is a missing part to this story and i bet its the fact that the boy lured her to his house by telling her he has a birthday gift for her there. thats why she went home with him at that time of the day n still entered even without light. n it went all downhill from there

RIP to the guy. the girl should spend a little time in Jail at least 6 months . she wasn't forced into the house there was no reason in the story for her to trust the guy n be alone in a dark house with him at night other than maybe greed. i might be wrong but its my opinion.

OMG cant stop laughing. u r so on point. read some of the posts this morning n was like hmmmm. well guess d bible teachings on divorce is gender specific.gat to love Nairaland.u right the man should look inwards. just read a tread where a woman was complaining her husband wasnt satisfying her n some one said she should pray n i couldn't stop laughing.Nigerians hypocritical Christians people need to learn to be more realistic in their thinking.

@op if u love ur wife forgive her.what she did is wrong if she is sorry take a long hols from her n think of d way forward. think wat would she do if the situation was reversed as they advice when a woman wants to leave her husband the next one may do much worst.

debrief08: Na wa oh! What a thread to be saved for future purposes. Op sorry for your situation, will come to you later on.
Imagiine my shck at this thread, see people throwing divorce up and down and very considerate of the OPs feelings, again na wa oh.
So adultery has suddenly becoome so painful that people foorget their bibles and "Gods hate divorce" "divorce is not an optin" verses today.
The is shocking for nairaland, if it were a woman who posted her her feelings will not even be addressed but for a man see clear differences;

1. No body blamed the Op and asked him "what were you doing wrong to push her to cheat, a woman satisfied at home won't go eating outside"

2. Ask him to make himself better, loose some weight, dress better, give her more money

3. No one asked him to go on his knees and fast and pray

Haba people see how divorce suddenly became 85 percent acceptable in this nairaland oh.
Thanks for TVC at least being consistent not minding the gender of the Poster.

My advice for the poster, take your time, see a couselor I recommed Jerome if you are in Lagos, not so you can get back but so you can figure out calmly what the next step you want is.
Adutery hurts, it opens feelings nothing else stirs so much pain and tears at once, so really people who are not ready to be faithful should stay off marriage, women feel this way all the time and still don't get e$pathy rather take the blame for their husbands cheating ways.
The kind of hurt many people bottle up from adultery is ammazing and sad.
I wish you the best what ever you decide$

Whoa so sorry to hear about your experience .i learned early that it wise to make only a 70% initial deposit. that keeps them focused.

the woman i paid to do my child's birthday cake delivered a cake that had already gone bad,yes the cake design was perfect but it was all film trick. i was so embarrassed when his school called me. anyway by the time i sent her a well constructed text message telling her how i was so disappointed that she should take up another hobby (her husband is rich) she dropped a full refund with my gate man the next day. i sent cupcaked to my child's school d next day.only luck was the cake looked grt in pic.

This Story Is truly sad.
I Blame the Man for he is a useless cursed being n is probably sick
I Blame the Woman for not protecting her children from this monster n believing such a person can change his ways
I Blame the family members for thinking it makes more sense for the couple to remain married for d kids sake than the kids safety n sanity
I Blame Society for making women feel marriage is a must and a woman must be under her husbands roof cos am guessing thats one of the reason she kept coming back.

Don't reply my post peeps its my opinion this is just too sick. but sad thing is there r many more women like this out there that will tolerate anything in d name of marriage.*does the God Forbid sign*

Hello doctors in the house.

I just got a new nanny n I really like her.as she seems ok with my kids she has been with me for 5 days now. I did the normal blood text today and she texted positive to Hep B. My question is 1. Is it advisable to keep her and have her treated bearing in mind I ve 2 young kids below 5yrs
2. Wats the treatment like and whats the estimated cost
3. Should I just send her away and avoid the risk of her transferring the infection to my kids.

Will appreciate ur advice please .
