You want to work for someone and stay in a rented apartment?
I am a born hustler (legit) that don't believe in employment. I prefer the rough road to wealth and freedom than the smooth path to relative poverty.

Though there is nothing wrong with being an employee, only few employees understand that no their lifespan within employment is relatively short. These wise employees don't just lavish their salaries on frivolity thinking that they have arrived, they invest in themselves, properties and even businesses.

But in Nigeria where take home pay doesn't really take one home, it is challenging for an employee to invest part of their salaries due to its relative meagre nature.

All being said, life of a hustler (self employed) may be rough for a few years but is highly rewarding if the hustler is focused, visionary and committed to his hustle without letting distraction set in.

Politics / EKITI 2022: Eleka Meets PDP Leaders, Assures Of Excellent Performance by AishaYesufu: 9:51am On Mar 31, 2021
Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and PDP candidate in the 2018 governoship election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka has met with Forum of Past Chairmen in the People's Democratic Party, PDP to express his intention to contest the 2022 governoship election, assuring them of excellent performance and inclusive governance if given opportunity to flag the party's ticket in the 2022 governoship election.

Prof. Kolapo Olusola contested under the PDP in 2018 governoship election in Ekiti State.

Addressing the Forum of Past Chairmen of PDP in Ado Ekiti, Eleka said their sacrifices to the party had sustained it beyond expectation in the state.

In his words; "There is no doubt in the fact that you have sacrificed alot to keep PDP this far with your commitment and unwavering loyalty, even when others left the party for selfish interest. I want to specially appreciate you for keeping the party together".

Eleka who mentioned some party chairmen he worked with while serving as deputy governor, said he had cordial relationship with them.

Assuring the Forum of Past Chairmen of excellent performance, Eleka said having served in different leadership capacities with verified achievements, serving Ekiti people and the PDP will be another avenue to discharge his expertise and experience, lamenting on the poor dividends of democracy in the state.

"Ekiti state made tremendous achievements in education sector under my supervision as deputy governor. The records are there to verify".

Unfortunately, our legacy in education sector has been abandoned by the APC government, hence the results are not only poor but embarrassing for a fountain of knowledge.

"I humbly bring myself before you today to declare my intention to contest the 2022 governoship election in Ekiti state. I want to assure you all of excellent performance for the state and a PDP where leaders will be treated with respect. A PDP where members will be part of policy making, decision making and a participatory leadership style"

"My personality is a proof that it wouldn't be business as usual".

This forum is indispensable given its scope and importance to the party in Ekiti State, hence your prayers and support are inevitable, Eleka concluded

The forum appreciated Eleka for consulting them and for his humility, urging him to continue with his encompassing consultation, and offered collective prayer for the success of his aspiration.

In the meeting were all former PDP Chairmen and other stakeholders.

Politics / Ekiti Chapter EKSU Alumni Congratulates New National Executive by AishaYesufu: 9:25pm On Mar 29, 2021
EKITI STATE CHAPTER FELICITATES WITH THE NEWLY ELECTED DIPO BAMISAYE-LED NATIONAL EXCO OF EKSU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION: FLASHPOINTS FOR REMINDER, LESS WE FORGET!

Distinguished and Esteemed Members, I have come on behalf of the State Executive Council and the entire members of Ekiti State Chapter to congratulate the newly elected Worldwide and National President of our Association, Engr Dipo Bamisaye, on his victory.

Our felicitation equally goes to the newly elected National Secretary - our distinguished leader, most compassionate brother and affectionate friend, Dr Isaac Akinleye of the Home and Mother Chapter; as well as other distinguished members of the newly inaugurated National Executive Council (NEC).

No election is minor and no election should be described as trivial or inconsequential.

I am saying this because election in the context of EKSU Alumni Association for example has become more of a power-struggle or struggle for power, characterised by similar dominant attributes of regular societal elections, which are often enmeshed in a zero-sum game for maximization of gains, intensive scenarios dominated by battle of skill, strategies and survival of the fittest.

And now that Engineer Bamisaye and his team had won, all we can do is to continue to pray for God's divine strength and wisdom to tinker the affairs and governance of our Association to more attainable greatness.

Meanwhile, I'd like to use this avenue to congratulate all our brothers and sister participated in this election, particularly our elder brothers who contested for the position of the National President of our Association, that is: Hon Soji Ehinlanwo, Hon Segun Odidi to Hon Sam Ogunmusi.

The just-concluded EKSU Alumni election was a unique one and I have conceptualised a theory around the flashpoints of the just-concluded election, brandished as the "Masquerade Theory", exemplifying the inherent smokescreen-politics of intrigues, secrecy, covert-bargaining, scientific disguise and strategic concealment that characterised the just-concluded election (Egungun).

In fact, that you all have even participated or taken part in this type of somewhat simple but highly sophisticated election is commendable and this will never be adjudged as a merely noticeable effort but more as a tremendous achievement in our modest estimation.

Nonetheless, we must tell you that you have also given a very beautiful account of yourselves as not only worthy and but proficient products/ambassadors of our alma mater considering those robust ideas that were individually propounded and defended by you during the electioneering and presentation of your amazing blueprints.

Besides, the maturity that you have demonstrated during and particularly after the election also speaks great volume.

Based on these discernible observations, backed by my earlier expressed conviction, I have come to unhesitatingly agree with Dr JET Babatola (former National President) and the Newly Elected Worldwide President Engr Dipo Bamisaye that the EKSU Alumni Triadic-Gladiators (Hon. Ehinlanwo, Odidi and Ogunmusi) are nothing but WINNERS in some certain contexts but I strongly wish to implore them to make their victory count through your continuous participation in our Alumni activities, not minding the outcome of the just election, in pursuance of our collective objective of making our association
greater enough to compete with other Alumni bodies glocally (locally-globally).

This is what we hoped for, while sincerely wishing you the very best in all your future aspirations and undertakings.

Our ample gratitude goes to the EKSU Alumni Independent Electoral Committee (EAIEC) for the success gained through the hitch-free election. Indeed, you have done so well and we hope that our macrocosmic electoral system can adopt your model by borrowing a leaf from it to become true specialists in conducting free-and-fair elections in Nigeria.

Finally, our most sincere and heartwarming congratulatory words go to the Immediate Past President (IPP) of our Alumni Association, Asiwaju (Dr) Oludotun Adetunberu, for providing excellent leadership and robust service delivery.

Notably, under you, the various State Chapters became more relevant in the governance and politics of EKSU Alumni Association, owing to the rights and privileges bestowed on us, including the honour of bringing us out of the labyrinth of irrelevance and cocoon of incapacitation to the limelight of prominence.

By this deliberate devolution of power from the centre (national) to the sub-centre (chapters), Asiwaju has infused into the EKSU Alumni system the true tenets of democratic freedom, true leadership and inclusive governance.

No doubt, I was right to have branded you as the *LEADER OF THE NEW ORDER*. This is because you have come, seen, fought and overcome.

Let me reinforce here that posterity is a master-recorder of all human actions (good or bad) and I am sure it will never for any reason forget Asiwaju (Dr) Oludotun Adetunberu's legacies of good accomplishments.

Indeed, history shall be kind to you my dear Egbon. Regarding the remaining office un-occupied, we have huge trust in your integrity and anticipate the deployment of justice, fairness and equity for all.

It is a new era with new leadership in the annals of our University's Alumni Community.

At this point, we rely on the shoulders of our Father, Prof M.A. Ayeni - The Supreme leader of Ekiti State Chapter, to unhesitatingly assure the newly elected National Executive Members of our unequivocal and continuous support as the Home and Mother Chapter, while wishing you the very best.

God bless Ekiti State! (Home/Mother Chapter)

God bless EKSU Alumni Association!!

God bless Ekiti State, Nigeria!!!

Thanks and God bless.

Politics / Prof Eleka: An Inspirational Leader by AishaYesufu: 7:14pm On Mar 29, 2021
Prof. Olusola Kolapo is not only a leader but also an experienced teacher and mentor that demonstrates and inspires others for purpose - driven life and result oriented activities.

Leadership is about solving problems,  he has the prowess and capacity to solve problems. He is a Prof in knowledge and in deeds. His (Prof. Olusola Kolapo) leadership is about nurturing and enhancing. He's a man with no hate.

Someone said "I love him because his actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, as he's always worthy to be a leader of quality." His deep knowledge in Governance and trust in God's direction makes his leadership a trusted leadership that will deliver beyond politicking.

We believe his hope and dreams are for the betterment of our people.

I had another conversation with another person, he said " Prof. Kolapo Olusola has become the kind of leader that other people, and people like us would follow voluntarily because of his diligence, effectiveness and humility.”

Now I know the importance of this man to us, because  he knows that a successful leadership is about influence and not authority. That's why people, flocks around him for guidance.

As I always pray, "Lord, make Prof. Olusola Kolapo an instrument of our peace in Ekiti, a person that'll bring sunshine as his highest aspirations". He has heard and he is running but requires our effort to make the journey successful.

I believe his true beauty of his pattern of politics will be born through his actions and aspirations and  in the kindness he offers to us, others in Ekiti state.

To understand the heart and mind of a person, like Prof. Olusola Kolapo, look not at what he has already achieved, but at what he aspires to. He did well during his tenure as former Deputy Governor with no record of bad performance, even from his opponents.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,  aspirations and inspirations.

Prof. Kolapo is an inspirational Leader, whose inspiration comes from above.  Let him deliver!!!!

I want him.  Do you also want him?  Ekiti people need this man for proper effectiveness of Government, management and Policies reflecting positively in the lives of Ekiti People.

What does tradition say about a son that plans to kill his father?

His input is not needed.

We took care of our dad during his sickness without him. So we can go ahead with the burial without him.

I will put Umunna and co in their place if they dare to support my stepbrother to disrupt the burial.
Lol firstly, he is your half brother (Elder) not step brother. Secondly, you can't fight Umuna and win lol...

Authority over who?
He has authority over my mother?

My mother(the spouse) of my father is still alive.

Where was his authority when my father was sick?

My stepbrother hired kidnappers to kidnap my father.
He said it openly in the market that my father will die.

So which authority does he deserve? The news of my father's death is good news to him.

He is the Okpala of the family, at the demise of your father, he is the next in line. Fact is, your father didn't follow the tradition to disown him so his pronouncement is invalid

Whether your father orally disowned him or not, he is still the Okpala of the family. Granted that him and your father (his father) were not in good terms but your father didn't follow the tradition to "disown him", thereby rendering it invalid. In Igbo land, the place and role of the first son cannot be taken from him except he is disowned or dead.

Politics / Professor Eleka Eulogizes, Mourns Late Ekiti Senator by AishaYesufu: 3:50pm On Mar 26, 2021
A former deputy governor of Ekiti state, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka, has joined the people of Ekiti state and other eminent Nigerians to mourn the passing away of a former senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, Dr Olabode Olowoporoku.

As posted on his Facebook page, professor Eleka eulogized the late elder statesman and prayed to God for the repose of his soul. He further commensurated with the Olowoporoku family and the people of Ekiti state over the exit of the icon.

See full statement;
"Legacies are undeniable phenomenon which become our lives when we are no more. On this note, I commiserate with all Ekiti Kete people, especially the Olowoporuku family on the death of our leader, a true son of Ekiti and a steadfast promoter of good governance.
As a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Minister of Science and Technology, he exemplified a life worthy of emulation.

He was a leader Par excellence, a courageous fighter and one who believed in a justice driven system.

I join Ilawe town, our state and all Nigerians to mourn the glorious exit of a fellow compatriot in the journey of rebuilding our dear state. He will surely be missed.

God will comfort the family and associates with the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss. Amen

You’re the person who said a woman is in no position to judge if a man will make a good husband but I’m so unintelligent? Ha!!

I can have a preference for men with lots of money and with looks like Brad Pitt in his prime but that doesn’t mean my choice and preference can’t properly be judged as shallow and not the priorities a serious woman should have.

Having a preference and CHOICE doesn’t mean the average person can’t determine whether that person’s preference and choice is based in ignorance or immaturity.

In this case it’s very clear to me that a man who requires a woman who is a decade or more his junior is not husband material. Sorry to tell you...
What a shallow comment.

Neither YOU nor any other person have right to tell a man that he won't be a good husband based on his preference for a wife. You can only share in his preference or disagree with him - this is a basic understanding that even 12 year olds know. You have no right to judge a man by his preference, doing that shows how shallow you are. It is plain dumb and gross exhibition of ignorance to say a man is not a "husband material" simply because he wants a woman 10 years younger. Grow up and get enlightened

BTW Your choice for a Brad Pitt or Dangote is your business, it doesn't define you to be a bad or good wife. What makes you a good/bad wife is your character, faithfulness/unfaithfulness, loyalty/disloyalty, support to your spouse or otherwise etcetera... Jesus, try to be logical and stop sounding shallow.

Last I checked heterosexual relationships involve both men and women. So yes i, a woman, can beat determine what makes a good husband and what does not. You think fellow men are best suited to judge who makes a good husband? Are you ok?

You are so unintelligent. Every basic educated individual know that there is something called preference, which everyone is entitled to. A man saying he wants younger wife is his CHOICE and preference, it neither define whether or not he will make a good husband... Who are you to counter his preference? Make oversabi no kill you...

One thing I dislike about most ladies is that they have this warped mindset like they know what is good for men even when they know nothing.

I think men who think like that are very insecure.

Why would a woman need to be ten years younger for you to feel able to get along with your wife? It doesn’t even make logical sense.

Such a man doesn’t know what it means to be a husband and doesn’t know how to love and nurture his woman. Therefore he requires a person a decade or more younger so he can replace a woman’s natural submission that she gives in response to love with a submission based on him being her elder.

Men who think like that won’t make good husbands.
[/s]
And you, a woman, thinks you know what is best for a man to be a good husband? A man has told you that he wants his wife at least 10 years younger than him, you are here yarning dust. Are you the one to tell him what he wants for himself?

Health / Two-thirds Of Africans Will Accept To Be Vaccinated Against COVID-19, Africa CDC by AishaYesufu: 10:46pm On Mar 24, 2021
Two-thirds of Africans will accept COVID-19 vaccines, according to Partnership for Evidence- Based Response to Covid-19 (PERC) survey
PRESS RELEASE

(24 March 2021) ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA - Across the continent, two-thirds of citizens interviewed expressed willingness to accept COVID-19 vaccines.

But the sentiment has varied across the continent. In the 19 member countries surveyed, 91% of the people surveyed in Morocco were most interested in receiving the vaccines while Tunisia and Cameroon had the lowest number of people, at 35%. The report disclosed levels of acceptability in other countries as follows; South Africa (61%), Zimbabwe (61%), Zambia (53%), Mozambique (75%), Egypt (78%), and the Democratic Republic of Congo (52%).

This was revealed as part of the findings of a report released by the Partnership for Evidence- Based Response to Covid-19 (PERC) Consortium. The consortium is made up of public health organizations such as the Africa Centre for Diseases Control and Prevention; Resolve to Save Lives, an initiative of Vital Strategies; the World Health Organization; the UK Public Health Rapid Support Team; the World Economic Forum and private sector firms such as market research company, Ipsos.

The new briefs (part of the third series of data collection and analysis from PERC) combine results from phone surveys on the impact of public health and social measures (PHSMs) with information on epidemiological trends, media monitoring, and data on population mobility.

Dr Emmanuel Agogo, the Nigeria Country Representative of Resolve to Save Lives outlined the reasons for vaccine hesitancy identified in the research.

He also urged the media to take responsibility for enlightening audiences.

"Journalists can inform and increase public confidence in vaccines," Agogo said.

He further encouraged journalists not to be sensational in reporting on vaccines since many myths are perpetuated, they should instead distribute reliable and accurate information.

Agogo said:"Journalists should do research, check the facts and use trusted sources of information."

In the presentation, the Africa CDC recommended that African countries should continue the rollout of the vaccine.

This recommendation was revealed during a webinar hosted by the African Centre for Diseases Control, public strategy firm, Gatefield, and the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, to engage journalists on the issue of COVID-19 vaccines safety, effectiveness, and distribution.

Dr. Ouma presented that the African Taskforce for Coronavirus (AFTCOR) had determined based on evidence, that the benefits of the vaccines outweigh its risks.

An expert panel of journalists including Hopewell Chin’ono, an award winning investigative journalist from Zimbabwe; Dr. Laz Ude Eze, AIT television host; Tanya Farber, senior science reporter, Sunday Times; Vuyo Mkize, health writer, City Press; and Elizabeth Merab, health and science journalist, Nation Media Group, shared their experiences covering vaccines at the event and advocated for more responsible reporting on the subject.
