informa: The founder of Latter Rain Assemblies Pastor Tunde Bakare said that the new APC members are not pure and progressive as they claim to be and he said 'THEY ARE A BUNCH OF LOSERS'Any Source for this information/report? |
Adejoro74: Pres.Jonathan gets first hand experience of Nigeria’s abominable consulate services in U.S.This report depicts the level we have descended to in NIgeria. The report made allusions to 'bad planning', but failed to show/point out whatever was wrong in the planning or the hosting. It alluded to two people saving the day yet did not report on what they did to save the day? Or was it that Ojo Madueke was almost locked out that was the bad planning? How well has Ojo Madueke planned consular operations under his domain in Canada? This report only interest is playing on the things that divide us and should not be encouraged. |
EFFRAKATA: Blackberry please stay a little while ooooo. Just bought a new Z10 yesterday.Welcome to the beautiful worl of the BB10 OS. If you are ready to experience its full potential, go to www.crackberry.com and download the 10.2 upgrade. You will be glad you did. |
naijaking1: Rchibuike Ramaechi needs to shut his mouth and work for his people. Having been handed the governorship on a platter of gold by the courts doesn't mean he is better that GEJ, no way. His arrogant Rikwerre wings must be clipped. The courts also handed him the 2011 elections right? |
alj harem: Is Tinubu not worse than Bode George ? Hypocrity of these APC/ACN people annoys one at times.A convicted crook better than an acquitted accused? Your logic is upside down. |
sundyke107: What agreement are you talking about? Must a northerner be the President of this NATION? For all I care, anybody can contest election in Nigeria irresptive of tribe. In fact, I have never voted for any PDP candidate in the past; but this time around, I will campaign and vote for GEJ come 2015. The desperation from these "BORN TO RULE" is unimaginable!!Was it the same "Born To Rule" mentality that made them vote Jonathan (Non Northerner) over Atiku (Northerner) during the PDP Presidential primaries of 2011? |
enigmang: Bless you ... I was hailing Amaechi before but I returned to port harcourt after 2years...Now your warped brain shifts to "he has done nothing in this second term", so in your wealth of knowledge, a monorail project would be completed in 2 years ko! Let it be clear, it is because of foolish thoughts and grandstanding of people like you that most politicians do not come up with enduring projects that would take years to accomplish but rather they are forced to pander to doing things shallow people like you can see and therefore do re-surfacing of roads, this borehole or that hospital. If they all think big like Amaechi and plan for long term projects which is followed through by successive governments, Nigeria would be a better country. You all shout Dubai and others, have you googled how long it took to build the new terminal at Heathrow? That monorail project would help Port Harcourt not to fall into the same mess of Lagos. Jakande instituted the Metro for Lagos back in 1982, if that vision had been completed, the transport mess in Lagos now wouldn't have been. So my friend, you need to start thinking long term and big too. |
Solarpower: keep on gettin at the president. The power thirsty abokis wil surely bow. Mst of d govnors dnt want GEJ cuz they r cmpletng their '8yrs' reign as govnors and wil be relegated 2d bench once 2015 govt commences. They r scared GEJ wil lash dia asses afta d elections. Why do d Abokis thnk it is dia's to rule? And 4ur info, i live in PortHarcourt, 'AMAECHI HAS DONE NOTHING'. U can kum and c thngs 4urslf. Sentiments apart! It is people like you that make one want to swear at people. How can you say you in live in PH and claim that Amaechi has done nothing!!! Haba! All the dualised road done since 2007 were all done by Odili or done by Asari & his boys ko? You do have a forked tongue and you a deceitful person. |
Rossikk: I've been following the revival of the textile industry with keen interest over the last year. I'm impressed by the amount of work and resources ploughed into this sector by the Jonathan govt after decades of neglect by preceding military regimes. You are being clever by half and trying to lay blame where it dodn't exist. the last Military govt was in 1999, more than 14 years ago and when I left Kaduna in June of 2000, all the textile factories were in full swing. The report stated that they are Arewa Textile will re-open after 10 years, were the military there 10 years ago? What killed the textile industry was the unbridled greed and taste for all things foreign and then OBJ's useless policy of removing duty from imported textiles. Also, remember that GEJ as Acting president gave about 10B for the textile industries but still failed to reverse the policy, everyone jubilated and Kaduna textiles resumed but went down again. If this is not followed by policy changes the same outcome will happen after a while: dead/comatose textile industries. |
Billyonaire: A closer look at the Atiku Boys indicated that none of them wore the PDP regalia, meaning they planned that factionalization which failed. Let me add that the registration of PDM was supposed to lead to defection of the Anti-GEJ PDP Governors, but I guess someone briefed them that declaring for PDM will mean automatic forfeiture of the PDP mandate that they hold as Governors, which will lead to removal from office to EFCC net.You have been spewing the above bolded line in your posts recently. Is it that you do not read and therefore do not know about the Supreme Court judgement as regards Atiku when he joined another party? Please read it up. Only National Assembly members will lose their seats upon defection to another party. |
Swit up: In the early hours of yesterday morning.., in the busy region of elelenwon in port harcourt.., the first train to ply the rail way after so long a time bashed a car parked on d rails to shambles.if a train bashed that car in the pictures, that won't be how it will lok like after the accident. Abeg say something else! |
critique101: there is something you guys need to know. If a girl says no sex before marriage, it doesnt mean that she is playing away match. It also doesnt mean that she has something to hide. She could just be God fearing. So in essence you wouldn't pity any lady in a bad relationship as well, since it will be nemesis catching up with her ![]() |
coogar: i would have respected ese 1 billion times if she had backed her statement with a compelling evidence. whether she lured the pastor or trapped him, the fact of the matter would have been so glaring that pastor biodun committed an immoral act. we wouldn't even be here to discuss this & pastor biodun himself would have had to come out of his shell and explain why he was caught under the sheets committing adultery with a church member. What if during that BJ, no sperm fell on the dress; or what if Monica had sent that dress to the drycleaners, would it have meant the event never happened? |
themaskedman: You know this is a very stupid comment. Imo State may not be owned by Catholics but still Catholics have they right to fight against what goes against their belief. Catholics have been fighting against abortion and anti pro life policies in the USA a country more religiously diverse than Imo State and nobody has told them America doesn‘t belong to them alone. The Catholic doctors have given their reasons why not give your own in support and move on.Strangely, many forgot the part where the constitution clearly stated that the "State Assemebly" is the representatives of the People and it is this same representatives of the People that actually passed the law!! Okorocha is only assenting to a law passed by the State Assembly. Where were the Catholic Medical doctors when the bill was being debated in the House? Where were the Catholic majority in Imo state when the law was being debated in the House. Also, if Imo State is made up of predominantly Catholics who have this belief against abortion, how come they elected a House that would predominantly go against the Catholic doctrine? Something just isn't adding up in this protes? |
peedeeasobie: We have already judged, condemned and sentenced a man without hearing from him. This your post above is funny o, does she need to apologize to the wife before confessing or coming out in public? Is the Pastor's deed (may be wrong) hinged on her apologizing to the wife? Abeg, enlighten me o! |
stagger: Excuse me you this frosbel man (or woman or she-man/tranny, whichever is the case...in our world now we do not know again). Since when did the unproven statement of one person prove that the allegations were true? Monica Lewinsky at least had a piece of underwear with Bill's DNA sample on it. Wetin dat Ese woman get to prove her allegation? And before that dress with the sperm showed up, what the Bill Clinton say? Did he not deny VEHEMENTLY? |
buyAride: @hotwax + Akainzo:I will not make any points as regards your grammar or your attack on my person, as you do need to check your post. The cult is called "Oro" and not "Oroo". Irrespetive of the usage of the word "Oro", that it can be used to denote the rituals of the cult , or the cult itself, we cannot both be right. Hotwax expounds that Oro is just a ritual while I have clearly maintained that Oro is a cult irrespective of there method of ritual. True that what most people see is the rituals, I am happy that you quite clearly know that they are indeed a cult. |
hotwax: Sir were, I used my phone. Phones dont have luxury of paragraphing or text auto-correcting. You wont know that cuz you are a stack illiterate.I am a stack illiterate, yet I write better than you, use grammar better than you, understand report writing better than you and use a better smartphone than you! Haba, in short, your education is wasted! hotwax: The issue is, Oro is rite/ritual performed by many cult, yoruba groups, traditional council. Thats the fact. I know it hurts when someone is corrected in the public. But summon courage and accept the fact. Its embarrasing actually. You level of reasoning is depicted in your analogy as you cannot differentiate between rituals and meditation. You however, need not try to correct me seeing as you know nothing about what you speak of. By the way, a primary school kid knows that "Yoruba" is a noun and therefore the "Y" must be capital, yet you do not know that! hotwax: I told you omo ale that oro is being performed by balawo too. Cant you read and understand? Your case is pathetic. Your lecturer is nurturing lunatic patient. I feel sorry for him.Good news, this lunatic patient is more educated and knowledgeable than you. hotwax: I thought I mention Oro rituals is done for many reasons. Annual prayer for the town, protection during war, protection for the town during epidemics. Please read yoruba history and stop arguing. Oro is not meant for war only. Must you argue ?You are very pathetic, your summation that Yoruba culture has been erased from Ikorodu just confirms your stupidity. Only one more thing from me: Read my posts and when I see any intelligent reposte, I will educate you more. hotwax: Guy I need to know you personally. You are saying the samething I am saying. Whats your argument here? Just wanna argue argue argue. You even argue against yourself. You even cannot comprehend simple sequence of points/opinions? Haba! We are definitely NOT saying the same thing! read my post, s-l-o-w-l-y. hotwax: F***cking trash. Tell that to your dad who wasted his hard earn money to send to school. And please stop insulting intellect. You keep mentioning "Intellect". AbegiiiAs usual, you go back to your gutter roots. English you no fit comprehend, grammar you no fit write na only abuse full your brain. Get any dictionary, you will see the meaning of intellect there, or you can simply google it. Abi your phone no fit do google too? |
hotwax: is this typical of Nigerian graduates? They argue on what they don't know. Oro is ritual/rite. It can be performed by any cult group or the town. Muslim and xtian say prayers. Prayer is not a cult group. Why do we have so many graduates as ignoramus in Nigeria. No wonder why this country still remains.Looking at your wrting style, I can deduce that you have either never done a scholarly research and thus have no idea how put out a report and thus you do not know what a "Paragraph" is, what "Making a list", and how to logically put out an reasoned thought. You are a failed graduate if you were a graduate at all. If you had gone through any high grade institution, you would have been taught that difference of opinions abound on all subjects within the intellectual circles. You my friend, probably passed through school but you missed the entire essence of education. hotwax: I am educating you in what I once did before. You are still arguing. Must you keep arguing when you are convinced?Convinced that you took part in an Oro ritual, how do you intend to convince me? The issue is not that there is an Oro ritual, the issue is whether Oro is a Cult! Learn the difference and then come back. hotwax: Oro is performed for the following reasons, by the following people: 1. Ifa/alawo cults to usher away the spirit of a dead member. Or to seek for more powers from their dietyHow many Ifa/Alawo practitioners in Yoruba land do you know that are not members of the Oro cult? hotwax: 2. At war, the town performs it to summon the ancestors to come and fight. You are indeed just a story teller, Oro has nothing to do with war, are you confusing Sango and Ogun with Oro. Ikorodu town has not been at war in decades yet the Oro is performed every 2 years. Are you inventing war for the town? hotwax: 3. Routine annual prayer for protection.Nonsense! hotwax: 4. Town can use it to honor a dead hero. If you were in Ife during Ife-modakeke war, this was common in ile-ife. Any group of people can perform oro. Sango people performs oro before starting sango festival. So in Ile-Ife Oro was being performed on a monthly basis or what? or Ile-Ife the only Yorubaland? So in essence, you took your knowledge from the activities that happened during a period. And to educate you, that Ife-Modakeke fracas was not a war, go and read about the actual Ife-Modakeke war and the division it caused in Yorubaland. hotwax: You don't know anytin, but to accept is your problem.Might it be that it is YOU, that knows nothing of what he is talking about? hotwax: I'm not saying ajanaku is not a cult member. I am only correcting your stupidity that oro is not a cult. Oro is a ritual. And stop disgacingNigerian graduates. Sango has performers, its a family heritage. Esu diety has custodian, its a family heriyage. Egungun has custodian, its also a family tin. Oro has custodian or performer, its a family heritage tin. We call them omo ile oloro. See I don't argue rigidly. Let me come to your side. You can say his cult group performed oro rituals for him. Mostly if not all yoruba cult groups performs oro. Hope you understand. So now you are saying ALMOST ALL Yoruba cult groups perform Oro, Hmmmm, the biggest hogwash of Yoruba culture. To correct you, the family heritage for Oro, is like being a Priest or custodian for a cult, like an Ifa worshiper passes it down his lineage. You are the one that is a disgrace to graduates with your inability to write simple comprehensible post, not knowing the proper way of writing Nouns and lacking the general depth of reasoning. Another pointer to your lack of scholarly ability is your thinking that anyone that has an opposing view to you must be a dunce, read and know the differences of opinion amongst the intellectuals of many common stuff. You need to go and learn! |
Alxmyr: You are spreading lies and you don't understand Yoruba religion, tradition and culture. Alxmyr: Unfortunately, you are arguing out of ignorance. If you are indeed from a Yoruba village, you must have participated in Oro ritual at one time or the other as a guy. There is no initiation involved. You have made assertions without saying anything to back up your claim. So share with us where the un-truth is in my write up. My guy, not only am I Yoruba, I have a royal lineage and descendant of one of the great warriors of Yoruba land, his exploits are taught as part of History in schools; So when I say, I tell it from a position of knowledge. That I participated in Oro rituals does not mean that Oro is not a cult. or is it everybody that participated in celebrating Easter (in Yorubaland), is a Christian? Or is it everyone that participated in Mass that is a Priest? It is you, that needs to go back and learn from the elders. |
Reyginus: Dude, I don't think anybody is owed any salary. What I see here is a bunch of selfish hypocrites holding the government at ransom because of extra allowances for no reason they deserve.Would you believe that you do not deserve it when you have employment letter stating that you have X amount as Transport Allowance but your company now fails to pay it to you after 9 months? If they do not deserve it, why did FGN sign the agreement back in 2009? |
hotwax: I know you are a graduate. Is someone administerng holy comunion in the a cultist? Oro is an heritage of a town tradition council. Oba gives the approvl. Oba can stop it. The performer are just steward. Oro is not a religion, no cult. Since when has Easter or xmas becomes a religion. Oro is a festival/rituals. And every odua land performs it. Oro has no member. No member no member. You can't join them. You have to belong to the family that does it. We have abor :executioner". They kill/execute people. They r not a cult group. You can't because of power join oro people. Yet you claimed you know something whereas u know nothing. Oro is evil, oro don't give power to people oro uses human bloodYou are a certified ignoramus. Based on your logic, as Easter is not a religion but a ritual of the Chriatian religion, tell me, the Oro is the ritual of which religion or cult? My friend, who tell you that Oro has no members ? So in your dreams only certain family members are in the Oro? You confuse the family that is responsible for the worship of the deity with the deity itself. Or is the Priest the religion/cult?You are seeing it as argument because you lack no knowledge and thus result to abuses rather than learning. As I have advised you earlier, go home and ask questions from the elders. |
hotwax: xtian night vigil is in thr night, egungun is in the afternoon/evening, oro is in the mid-night that's when they invoke spirits. Mid-night is d right time. oro is a duty of the town traditional council. I was part of these things. I'm telling you what I know and once a part of. I am arguing with you so as not to confuse other nairaland. Oro ritual/festival is associated with demons. Its not done in the day cuz of women. There is no point arguing with an hardened nonentity though. You are mixing things up. The fact that one attends church service does not make one a christian. Abi, for Yorubaland, don't Muslims attend child dedication in the church? Does that make them a christian? Oro is a cult, that most/all members of the traditional council are members does not make it a ritual. Ok, to help you, Does one have to be initiated into Oro or not? In the answer lies that it is a cult. I am a hardened nonentity! I pity your lineage cos if I tell you mine and you mention it to your grand father, he would cower in fright. You speak nothing of what you know not and use your experience of hearing about Oro at school to depict what is. Your stupidity is salient in saying "It is not done in the afternoon because of women", let your elders tell you that during the Oro festival women would not even come out in the afternoon. Please speak nothing of what you do not know about. |
hotwax: oro is a ritual. Some people are specialized in performing. They are not cult. Don't tell me egungun performer are cult. Go meet your papa and ask. I doubt if he knows too. Knowledge is not by inheritance. Its by research. You won't agree though. You are a clown for comparing egungun festival to Oro. Why do you think that Ikorodu is locked down during the Oro festival but egungun is celebrated in the afternoon? My guy, I need no research, I KNOW. I see that you are infected with the spirit of the ignoramus, they abuse rather than propagate or seek any knowledge. You have no idea of my age or my lineage yet you allude to my Papa not knowing what Oro is! I really puty your kind. |
hotwax: Hi Nairalanders, do not rush to believe what people post here. Oro is riyual/rite performed to usher away the spirit of a famous deceased. Its just a way of honoring a dead society man who have contributed good things to a town. Ajanaku Means a great man. Its painful that modern yorubas don't know about their culture anymore. Its so sad. I'm not saying pastor ajanaku is a saint. I don't know him. But I saw a flaw in this post. Those guys were chanting ajanaku. Ajanaku is a yoruba word for "the great one. The dead pastor just picked the name. Its like a nickname or some people bear the name in yoruba land. Like morinho call himself the special one. Please, let's not judge now especially on deceased. All you said above is hogwash as you definitely do not know what you are talking about. The Oro is a cult and their is the ritual performed by the cult. No it is painful, that people like you do not know/understand their own tradition and are rushing to propagate half truths. If you are indeed Yoruba, you do need to go back home and ask the elders to explain Oro for you. Indeed you have the right translation/meaning of the word "Ajanaku", however used in the context of an Oro ritual, it is not that literal translation that is being referred to. Note also, Oro does not come out to celebrate the death of anybody that is not its member, it is not a praise singing/worship group rather a sacred and highly secluded one. That most notable people get such honours, is not because they were wealthy but because they are members of the group. So if you cannot point or allude to any member of the cult dying in that street, do not attempt to write off such Oro ritual as mere coincidense. |
hotwax: I was wondering too. It seems people don't know the meaning of Oro. Oro is a ritual. Its not a cult. Foools. Do research before posting junks. And if this is false, u have spoilt an innocent man's name. May God forgive us all. We should not be quick to throw stones. So Oro is now a ritual? Ok, it is a ritual of what or for what? You need not use google, go home and ask the elders then come back and post. |
jimfarayola: The Academic Earned Allowance is what matter most to ASUU,dey ae jst hiding under d wave of fighting for infra structural development,we shall see if they are going to call-off the strike.Would you call of a strike when your employer has not paid your allowances for over a year when he promises to buy new chairs and tables for the office? Note, they are not asking for spurious allowances, they are asking for EARNED ALLOWANCES that have not been paid, this is the same governemnt that quickly looked for moneyu to pay the Super Eagles allowances to enbale them go for the conFed Cup but has refused to pay the lecturer's allowances for over a year. Haba! |
eio2013: If Amaechi is matured as u claimed why did he run to a foreign station to cry fowl....You my friend, are a clown! I wouldn't want you associated with my alma mata. |
jp philips: If the Amaechi's Govt still have time for all this big grammer, who or how will woji road and sub roads, okporo road, Eneka road be fixed? i don't get, rivers has the worst roads in Nigeria and our governor is busy throwing punches. You and Okupe are clearly birds of the same feather. Woji Road (in Woji) has been awarded but work not started; Woji Road (In GRA) work is ongoing and has not finished. Eneka Road: work is ongoing. The road is being expanded from a single lane to a dual carriage with drainages and walkways. Okporo Road: Work ongoing. The road is being expanded from a single lane to a dual carriage with drainages and walkways. Do enlighten us, which road was Just demarcated and called a Dual Carriage in Rivers State? You my friend are full of lies! |
go read the supreme court on omehia vs amaechi and further look up the 2011 electoral act. In as much as you and i vote for candidates in the elections, before the law, its believed we voted for parties.
That ruling has nothing to do with a sitting governor changing alliances or party. The ruling relates to an ELECTION. In this instance, there is no election and therefore the constitution is clear, only the stipulated ways of removing a governor can be used, and the last time I checked, none involved declaring a seat vacant. |
madridsta007: I think it would be a brilliant idea if the Nigerian government would implement the following:I guess you didn't read that part where it stated that the UK government will be giving Nigeria aid totalling £305m! Do you want to convert that into Naira and see how much Naija would be missing out of? |

O woo'feere, O'ku feere..! ) is called Oroo.
