PoliticsRe: Akwa Ibom 'deportation Of Non Indigenes', Joe Igbokwe Lied, Says Akwa Ibom Govt by Akainzo(m): 9:45am On Aug 06, 2013
PointB: As they say, the difference is clear, and below are the very obvious differences. Let's see if we can spot more difference between Lagos State and Akwa Ibom in this cases.

First, unlike Lagos State, there is no evidence/suggestion/allegation that people were rounded, some at gun-point and carted away like refuse with no questions aked.

Unlike the Lagos' case, I see nothing to suggest that the victims where placed in any detention center

Akwa Ibom NEVER dumped anyone in the middle of nowhere in the dead of the night, unlike Lagos State.

Unlike Lagos, when Akwa Ibom said two (2) they actually meant two (2) people, and NOT 70 (or any of it's variants)

Akwa Ibom had medical certificateS to back up their claims of the mental state of those two, and they boasted extensive period caring for them in hospital, while Lagos State whisked Nigerian citizens into various camped, ostensible to teach them useful skills - skill that none of the deportee could confirm as at yet. The real reason is because they were poor and unable to speak the local dialect!

In the case of Akwa Ibom no one died. In the case of Lagos State, we were told by eye witness that 29 died in the detention camp, while one of the deportee was later confirmed dead as a result of ill-treatment suffered in the detention camp, and while being deported.

Akwa Ibom followed through and ensure that those two ON medical leave were indeed from Lagos and were handed over to Lagos State, while Lagos State rounded up several active people hailing from states as diverse as Lagos, Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Edo, Anambra etc, termed them destitute and dumped them shortly after crossing the River Niger.

The gesture of Akwa Ibom State in my opinion is humane and genuine act of kindness, but that of Lagos State, under the supervision of Fashola is very barbaric, wicked and unconstitutional.

I still call upon Lagos State to release anyone still held hostage in their detention camps.
Your myopic deductions are from an illogical basis where you have manufactured stuff not alluded to by the AKSG. NO where in that wite-up did you see a medical certificate, yet only you, saw and verified one.

Where are you getting your lies about people dying in detention? 29 for that matter!!!

If you are a fellow giving to reasoning and ability to decipher, you would see that when AKSG wrote to the LASG, the LASG responded and took in the two people without questioning. In the Anambra case, the Liaison office went AWOL.

By going AWOL, the Anambra government tacitly bandoned its own people. If you say Igbos were deported, then you accept that they are Igbos, why then did the Anambra Govt not acknowledge them as Igbos and take them in?

coolegbo: our judicial system is soooooooooo bad, can we imagine that man who used our mace as a golf stick and his fellow human as the golf ball granted BAIL? Haba naija! This is absurd
Is the offence bailable? If yes, then why should he not get bail?

CrimeRe: EFCC Arrests Man With 30 ATM Cards, 8 Signed Cheques by Akainzo(m): 3:37am On Aug 06, 2013
coogar: 30 ATM cards surely raise the red flags and let's be honest, what kinda businessman possesses 30 different bank cards? those cards would probably bear different names and that itself is a good reason to arrest the suspect immediately....
Raises a red flag, sure. But is raising a red flag a crime? Note that nowhere in the write up does it say those cards bore different names, so don't make any assumptions.
The spade to be called is that EFCC shouldn't have gone to press until they've concluded investigations! Heck, I have 6 FBN cards alone in my name and another 4 from UBA, not counting my other local banks and foreign accounts, so if EFCC operative were to see me, I would have committed a crime?

coogar: it would be an offence if the cheques are drawn in different names and the dude in question does not bear any of the names. even in the UK, he would be arrested on the spot!
My guy stop that sensationalism, possession of cheques in other people's names is not a crime in the UK. Attempting to cash other people's cheques by impersonation is however a crime.

coogar: 30 ATM cards and 8 signed cheques show the markings of a serial fraudster. if the cards were cloned, then it's even worse for him. no matter how you spin this, this guy is guilty to the hilt. call a spade a spade for once.....
Hmmm, by your logic, I would be a serial fraudster considering how many ATM cards that I actually have in my possession.
Let me give you a hint, I once needed to be frisked because of the iron in my shoes, when the UK customs guy saw my bulky wallet with all the cards, he was taken aback and asked to see my wallet. It was rescanned and he looked through and I merely got waived on. Not all the cards bore my name, however they all bore the same last name. I sure wasn't arrested as you'd made it seem I ought to.

The guy might be guilty or he might not, he probably is in this instant, however what I am pointing out is possession of many ATM cards is not in itself a crime.
CrimeRe: EFCC Arrests Man With 30 ATM Cards, 8 Signed Cheques by Akainzo(m): 10:04pm On Aug 05, 2013
I am still wondering what the crime as alleged by EFCC is.

Is it that he had 30 ATM cards? Is it an offence to have 30 ATM cards, or is it an offence to have 30 bank accounts?

Is it an offence to have signed cheques in your possession?

Either the level of journalism in Nigeria has gone to the dogs or the EFCC is playing to the gallery. Care must be taken to ensure that our fears and disdain for fraudsters is not used as a fulcrum for illegal detentions. No where in this piece was any crime alleged or in the process of being committed.

kobikwelu: One thing i took away from this is that Amechi is too blind to see his own contradiction

he said that the president should have nothing against his ambition.....

and yet later, he said that Wike his former chief of staff should not be president because wike has no leadership skills

soooo tell me what makes him different from GEJ??
Seems you skipped that part with he said that the people will decide and not him. Having a personal opinion is far different from using state resources to prosecute that electoral leaning.

Billionaires: Wole achieved nothing than Nobel Laurette in literature, which is nothing. If the Award was in medical science or technology then it will indicate his skills but speaking big grammar has rendered him homeless, wifeless, comfortless and he is increasing going crazy. How can a so-called intelligent man worship Sango and form a secret cult (Pyrates) that has lead to murdering of thousands of youths. Wole will be in prison when I am President, thats a guarantee. He married 3 times and divorce 3 times, there is something wrong with him. Wole even served in IBB administration giving legitimacy to militocracy. Only f00ls take Wole seriously. he is just a local champion.

Abacha's daughter is right about this.
I bet you were baying and hopping all over the place when he spoke out back then in support of GEJ attaining the mantle of leadership over Yar'adua's so called absence/death. At that time I believe you followed, believed and praised him like the loquacious fool that you are.

By your reasoning on Pirates, we should have banned all medical science since it is its practitioners that also invented all the poisons that have killed millions of souls across the world, hey, we should even ban scientist as well since they invented guns, bombs and nuclear devices. Olodo!

Hmmm, has the PDP and the Oga @ the top allow him to work? When people are fighting to get him to share the state resources and causing political brouhaha all over the place, how is he gonna work?
PoliticsRe: How It Really Happened In Rivers Assembly - Eyewitness by Akainzo(m): 2:37pm On Jul 11, 2013
pro01: Why is this rubbish on the front page? A so-called eye-witness account by a clearly biased pro-Amaechi buttlicker. From supposedly recounting what happened, the Amaechi slave digressed to praise singing his paymaster. What nonsense.

I would be horrified if it comes to light that even Seun has been compromised with Amaechi's blood money. It would be a massive shame for the awkward nerd in Ota to participate in this feast of messy porridge with the rest of the opposition media.

If we can't get a GENUINE eye-witness account of a REAL and unbiased eye-witness, then only fools would take this jaundiced account seriously.

jmaine: The Rivers state PDP exco actions doesn't surprise me cos the desperate precedence is already evident in our polity with respect to Oyo state you mentioned.

The River State PDP shameless stand supports my view that Amaechi is still the governor despite the illegality that was successfully carried out .

Nothing has changed bruv . . .
The bolded cracked me up, "Illegality that was Successfully carried out!" SMH.
PoliticsRe: Rivers State Assembly Crises - The Complete Videos by Akainzo(m): 9:41am On Jul 10, 2013
Billionaires: You have forgotten that PDP had suspended Governor Amaechi alongside many reps. So constitutionally those suspended are not qualified to be in the house. Those 5 can even impeach the Governor, if they chose to.
Your understanding of your constitution is so warped, I want to believe you missed the entire class during school days. I however have no excuse for your inability to have read the various pronouncements by the law courts.

The PDP suspending the lawmakers is only a suspension FROM THE PARTY and not from the RVHA. It is crude thinking and support from clueless people like you that keeps giving thugs the boldness to run the country aground.
PoliticsRe: Rivers' Speaker Impeached, Amaechi Storms Assembly As Fight Erupts? by Akainzo(m): 9:32am On Jul 10, 2013
jmaine: Repeating an already answered question doesn't make sense.

its even funny how 5 lawmakers can overpower 27 others, are they that weak to need hulk Hogan Amaechi storming for their rescue . .

The impeachment was successful but there was a counter measure to show the numerical advantage of the opposing group. And I believe 27 is way greater than 5 for effective taiming and counter measure

So the question of where will Amaechi be shouldn't even arise cos the situation already panned out. As we speak, there are two speakers albeit one illegally elected and the original with Amaechi still the gov. So what has really changed ?
Hmmm, Do you then find it strange that the Rivers Stated PDP EXCO has already recognised Bipi as the authentic Speaker of the RVHA?

Were you not in Nigeria when it happened in Oyo State? What happeened to Ladoja, what did the Police do even in all the overwhelming evidence that a thug presided over the purported session?
PoliticsRe: Rivers' Speaker Impeached, Amaechi Storms Assembly As Fight Erupts? by Akainzo(m): 8:15am On Jul 10, 2013
jmaine: Going by the video evidence, Amaechi never stopped the impeachment process cos the illegality had already been accomplished. So hypothetically it was successful but theoretically and technically it's a ruse cos it's not backed by the statutes of the law

In the face of the law, can this impeachment stand despite having been accomplished. My answer is a no, cos the law court will rule in favour of team Amaechi going by present reports . . .

So what's the hulabaloo about. . .
And while the process to prove that the impeachment is an illegality to be overturned by the courts, WHERE WOULD AMAECHI BE? Would he be a Governor or would be be hounded by the same Police that would be used to effect the unlawful impeachment?

I ask you, would you engage in fisticuff to prevent your brother from being shot, or would you wait let him be shot and then go to court to sue the assailant?
PoliticsRe: Rivers State Assembly Crises - The Complete Videos by Akainzo(m): 10:12pm On Jul 09, 2013
thelastPope: It doesn't matter how it looks. All that matters is if they followed the rule.
Which of the rules?
That where 5 are gathered together they can decide for 27 others?

A simple analysis: Based on the speech of the "new Speaker"
a. He suspended 15 lawmakers
b. Implies he had maximum 27 - 15 = 12 lawmakers with him
c. 12 is not 2/3 of 27, neither is it 2/3 of 32
d. 12 does not even form a quorum as it is short of 1/2 of 27

So which of the rules did they follow?
PoliticsRe: Rivers State Assembly Crises - The Complete Videos by Akainzo(m): 10:08pm On Jul 09, 2013
thelastPope: There were voices on the background but we dont know from that how many people were present. We will find out in the coming days. But they did have an impeachment with the mace present. I think a lot will come down to how many people are on both sides. But it isnt looking good for Amaechi at all at all
The question to ask is this, how did they get to appoint the "Speaker ex-tempore"?

a) Was it before the Houise was in session?
b) After the Speaker had been impeached and sent to hospital?
c) Of their own accord without the Speaker?

Now there are processes for removing a Speaker of a House, once those processes were not followed, than any other action is an illegal act. So we can say, there was an attempt to remove he Speaker of the House illegally!
PoliticsRe: Rivers' Speaker Impeached, Amaechi Storms Assembly As Fight Erupts? by Akainzo(m): 9:08pm On Jul 09, 2013
jmaine: At the time of that post details were scanty, and i don't in any way support the notion of 5 Lawmakers indulging in a sham impeachement process.

Yet, still doesn't erase the desperation of Amaechi to storm the complex and engage in the ensuing melee . . .

That's all
Would you rather engage in fisticuff to prevent a man from shooting your brother, or you'd rather wait, let him shoot your brother and then sue him to court?

Which one would you do @jmaine?

Inik: How the impeachment was done

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNBoL9q72zw
My observations:

a. Is it only 2 people in the entire assembly? why were the other assembly men not shown in the video? Or is it really true they were just 5 lawmakers? 2 on the podium, 3 moving and seconding ALL motions. Demoncrazy don suffer!

b. Since the "New Speaker" suspended 15 members not present, then they couldn't have form a quorum as 27 -15 = 12 (5 were already suspended from the main 32)

c. At what point was the "Speaker ex-tempore" appointed?

All this are the things going through my head after watchng this.

He is proud, arrogant and self centered. How can one man be fighting almost all the political heavy-weights in Rivers state? haba!!! Something is wrong with the man.

deleteme: Pls You ACN followers should stop misleading people all in the name of defending Fashola. The only known court case in Ago is that of the Indian Residence opposite the Triangulr Plaza and the matter has bin duly settled, which necessitated the demolishing of the said house. The other landlords that went to court has also withdrawn their cases via the promise of the govt for adequate compensation. Every other road construction by every other govt has and will continue to experience court cases but how the govt handle it is very important. The celebrated Ikoyi bridge had a lot of court cases and Fashola went ahead to compensate them adequately. Same as Surulere, Yaba etc.....so why is Ago - Okota different.
Since all this roads that you mentioned had issues yet government went ahead and paid compensation, have you then pondered for a while, why did this get to the courts? Why did the issues affecting this particular road have to get to this extent?

Spare a moment to think about this things, then maybe, we can start to understand the issues better.

It is only in Nigeria that someone empowered by law, backed by the Supreme Executive head throws up his hands in the air and says he cannot guarantee security because he DOES NOT do his work and he/she expects us to understand.

The immunity clause is clear, it is an immunity from prosecution, not an immunity from obeying the laws of the nation. This people should stop playing to the gallery and not attempt to paint us as fools when searching for an excuse to take on perceived political opponents.

In a sane societies, this guy would be out of job for saying he is too lilly-livered to do the security job he has been entrusted with.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Didnt Meet Amaechi At The Dinner For Security Reason by Akainzo(m): 10:23am On Jun 28, 2013
naptu2: That's the usual practice. In fact, this is not the first time that this practice has caused controversy.

Circa 1991 Chief MKO Abiola was prevented from entering the auditorium of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs because he arrived the venue after President Babangida had arrived. Chief Abiola caused a commotion at the entrance, but the security operatives refused to let him in. However, he was able to smuggle a note to Admiral Augustus Aikhomu who eventually intervened and got the security operatives to allow Chief Abiola into the hall.

President Olusegun Obasanjo was physically prevented by a security operative from queuing behind President Yar'Adua at a buffet. President Yar'Adua had gone to get his food and President Obasanjo wanted to follow him, but the bodyguard blocked him and waited until the Vice President, the Senate President and other dignitaries had served themselves before allowing Obasanjo to join the food queue.
Of course, that is the usual practice for security reasons that no one ENTERS the venue/auditorium after the President is inside, however in this case, the incident happened INSIDE the venue/auditorium.

On the OBJ issue, the security oerative ensured that protocol was observed whereby the 3 heads of the arms of government went before OBJ, not that he would have prevented OBJ from having a banter with Yar'adua.

You should learn to use the right instances to justify stuff. Tell me that no one was allowed to shake the President during the entire dinner?
