olabowale She didn't named it, the kids in her class came up with several names and they voted to named it muhammed because it was easy to remember. Secondly - no one announced it in public, this incident happened since September. Why are you making a big deal out of it. If you named a dog paul and announced it publicly in the US, aint no one gonna cough about it brother. I asked if the kids had named the teddy bear Jesus, would the authorities have made a big deal about it? |

Will the police have done the same thing "over reactive" if the kids named their teddy bear Jesus? |
Olabowale, You analogy of muslims going to heaven via musa, isa and muhammed is akin to having 3 lives. Old man - you have only one, once you die, that is it, capush! - se fini!, so stop playing pretend and taking chances with your soul. If there is any dignity in you, try and be honest with yourself. You can't cut your body, soul and spirit in 3 parts, they will all go to the same very place dude. You claim that the bible is corrupt yet you vehemently deny the divinity of Jesus Christ. You claim to "beleive" that moses and Jesus will take muslims to heaven yet you claim that christians and jews will go to hell. So, assuming that yo to go heaven with Jesus, muslims will go to heaven, the jews and christians will go to hell right? - what the heck do they feed you muslims folks, are you that dumb? or you have lost your ability to reason at all? Davidylan, The devil is wicked indeed, he hates the human race so much and he will do anything to make them stay with him in hell. In order to achieve this, he deceives men with so many false teachings - if you want a typical example, look at alhaji olabowale. Olabowale, stop using the quran to judge biblical characters. The history of jew, christainity and the bible precedes islam. Jesus Christ lived, died and was risen to heaven, He was bodily seen by many people, it was the talk of the town, history supports it. Yet islam came 600 years later and claimed that "it only seemeth so in their eyes". Christainity existed for over 600 years before islam came, not to talk about the years that moses and the other prohepts lived in. If you want honest answers, ask and stop twisting things to suit yourself. |
It seems luv2talk, is new and we should cut him some slack It's either we will start ignoring you because you don't seem to be able to defend and substantiate any theory or argument you bring forward. You copy and paste your imams' word, you plagiarize articles from islamic websites and come and put them here, all the while you are unable to defend your earlier topics and threads you open when christians on this forum has provided explanations and answers to your insulting stipulations and questions. I really don't know if you think you are doing islam a favour. Do you read your quran at all, every time you attack the bible, you disobey commandments in the quran that instruct you to reference and venerate the bible. We have seen your likes, there is babs and alhaji obowale. I really can't see what you want to prove that these individuals haven't tried and failed to achieve on this forum. My advice is if you don't understand anything about Christianity, you should ask before you start condemning or criticizing , this not a competition. So, big up and behave like a civilized gentleman if you are one. |
I was about to open a thread on this before I read this topic. I will like muslims to enlighten us as to why a woman will be detained, fined or flog for allowing 6 and 7 years old named their teddy bears. The little kids decided to call their teddy bears muhammed, is that a crime? |
Some muslims will go to any length to discredit the bible. In their zeal to paint the the bible black, they twist and turn all sorts of callous concussions they learnt at the feet of their imams. Muslims like luv2talk always drop their objective reasoning when it comes to islam, they just can't think straight even when the truth is staring them in the face. They think that islam and christianity is in some form of competition. For such people, there is little you can do to help them. They need a surgical and spiritual operation by the Holy Spirit to convict them of their error. Now we have some luv2talk blabber comparing moses with muhammed and discrediting our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Next - they will tell you the quran is the greatest miracle the world has ever seen. |
pilgrim.1, Your detailed analysis of the subject matter teaches me alot about Islam. Whenever you open a thread or a topic, you support it with facts which is very important. I pray our Father increase you in all knowledge, wisdom and understanding. I pray He gives you the spirit of revelation. God bless you. |
Try and install it and see if it works or not. Nothing is lost by trying |
Amazingly, I know someone in the same situation as you. Here is my advice 1. Be yourself 2. Be a friend to her - be there when she needs someone to talk to or laugh with. 3. Don't be shy to reveal your feelings but don't air it as if you were on TV 4. Let her decide if she wants to be with her present guy or not 5. Don't force her into a relationship with you i.e. the decision to break up with her guy or stay with him shouldn't come from you 6. Don't play with her feelings, if you are real and your intentions are honorable, she will come close to you naturally. 7. Most importantly - if you are religious person, pray about it first. In this world were we all think we can live our lives the way we want - there is a supernatural being that has a bigger plan for us and for our relationships. I hope this helps. |

anusule, It's not another thread to downgrade windows. We are sharing our thoughts that's all. |
Guys, Easy. First of all. I think what this company wanted to monopolize is the access to the SAT3 fibre-optic access that NITEL currently enjoys. Read the articles below for more insight. http://www.cipaco.org/spip.php?article361 http://www.safe-sat3.co.za/HomePage/SAT3_WASC_SAFE_Home.asp Secondly - most Internet connection in Nigeria is via Satellite with most of the providers based outside Nigeria. Now, there is no way you transmit all these traffic to a single hub site to either monitor or limit access - it's nearly impossible. The Nigerian Internet Exchange is a program that wants to keep traffic originating in Nigeria local to Nigeria. Take for instance. If you are using ISP A in abuja and I am using ISP B in abuja and you try to access a server on ISP B network, without the Internet Exchange, your internet traffic will travel via the Internet to your provider and back to Nigeria to my provider. This process will waste alot of bandwidth, time and resources. There will be high latency and other bandwidth limitations and you will transverse alot of hops just to access a server that is in the same geographical location as you. If ISP A and ISP B were connected to the "supposed" Internet exchange - all traffic to each other will be kept local. So it will only take a few hops to access the server on ISP network. The advantages of an Internet exchange far outways it's disadvantages if there are any. Back to this company that wants to control "all Internet traffic" in Nigeria. First of all - it is not possible. I think they want sole access to the SAT 3 fibre submarine. You see, SAT3 access is cheaper than VSAT so most ISPs want to get on the SAT3 access. |
A little hint to consider if you intend to join the Nigerian military 1. If you don't pass through Nigerian Defense Academy - You will not attain certain ranks i.e. General for the Army or an Admiral in the Navy. 2. Most of our soldiers think they are the best people in Nigeria. This is as a result on indoctrination and the type of training they undergo. They feel sort of superior or special to civilian. Learning the art of war will give you a sense of superiority which can be misleading. 3. Compared to other West African countries, we have one of the best military however we have a long way to go when it comes to professionalism. 4. The best doctors, computer developers, lawyers don't come from the military, they come from the universities. There are other points I would have noted but I will leave you to decide. Good luck. |
mojmicky We are talking about the number of applications that run on windows, we are not talking about the number of applications that microsoft writes. Even if you compare it microsoft writes more applications that apple does. You should recognize that microsoft is THE dominant force in the software industry, that been said - it doesn't make it the best software company (perhaps when it comes to making profit). MACs have their advantages but you can't argue that MACs have more softwares than windows. |
Windows has more apps and more user-base than apple, we should not debate this. However, apple is a better system when it comes to security and stability. |
You have be more clearer. Do you want to run a telnet server or you want to connect to a telnet server. To run a telnet server on windows Install and activate the Telnet service/daemon on windows Running a telnet client Once your telnet server is up and running, it listens on port 23. Simply connect to port 23 i.e. telnet xx.xx.xx.xx 23 where (xx.xx.xx.xx is the telnet server IP address) |
lol - I was only joking oh! No one should be ban. |
Happy to have help out |
juintade, When you have to use many languages to code, you have to agree on so many things. Most importantly we will agree on predefined sets or variables and all that stuff. All information will be held in a database, nearly all languages have APIs to talk to databases so I don't think this will be a problem. That been said if majority of the code is in a particular language that runs on a particular platform, we will host those codes on the said platform and it will talk to a central database. |
Since we are in a democratic country - let us vote. For me - pilgrim.1 should not be banned. She is a deposit of knowledge and an icon of wisdom. I have learnt so much from her posts. If you want smile4kenn to be ban instead, show me a grin ![]() |
oops, seems no one is interested in open source network security. |
Seun, Amazingly, my MD and I had a meeting about this yesterday. What if we get alot of web developers together, create a business platform, a revenue sharing module where the developers and the company can make money. The company provides the platform (servers, hosting, backup and internet access) and the web developer do what they do best "CODE!". We host these web apps on our servers and present them to our clients (over 2000) in Ghana and beyond. Clients pay a subscription, we all make money. We work out a revenue model that allows web developers to make money as more clients subscribe. Details that needs to be worked out will be: 1. Who owns the code 2. Co-ordination 3. languages to code it, etc. We will start this project next month and I will let you guys know. |
Hi Guys, One of the company I consult for experienced a DNS DOS attack on their two main DNS servers, the attack slowed down the network. Interestingly, the attack originated from several of their WAN clients. I had to sniff traffic traffic on the servers and dump those traffic to a protocol analyzer before we could figure out where the attack was coming from. Can anyone of you give me pointers about open source "Network Security Systems" that sit at the border of your network and monitor every and any kind of traffic i.e viruses, malware, spyware, broadcast storms etc and report on these threats in real time. I have a couple of tools I use and they are pretty good but I wanted you guys input. Thanks |
We were expecting him in Ghana last friday when I heard the news. People here are concern about him and we miss him. Get well soon bro. I pray a time will come when Nigeria is safe and crime is totally eliminated. |
I have been coding in VB 6.0 since 2005 and have written our in-house CRM. Is that good enough? |
A very simple project could be to build an application that can help the school authorities to determine if there are free spaces on the campus or not and/or if a department is over-crowded or not. |
Download mysql driver for ODBC and connect to the mysql dbase. Once connected, you can do any other thing with the dbase, dump it, manipulate it etc. |
I find it funing when people say others are guru in something. We are all gurus once we can solve problems. I started using Unix/Linux 2 years ago and I have used to build embedded systems and everything from bandwidth managers to fax machines. So just put your back into it. |
pierre, The reason I asked if it is only MS-Access & VB you will use is because technologies from microsoft tend to tie you down in so many ways (I won't even go into that). I strongly believe open-source is the future and I think you can use open source technologies to accomplish your project. Here is my 2 cents 1. You need an SMS gateway (Don't let the term scare you) that will actually push the content (results) to students cellphones when requested. Now, you don't need to go and buy $$$$ software to get this to work, that is where open-source comes in. Kannel (www.kannel.org) is a simple, SMS & WAP server. Setting this up just requires a regularly phone(with a cell number) that can plug into the USB or serial port of a computer (with a few configuration of course) and bang!, you got yourself an SMS server. 2. You need a database ( can be any MS-Access, MySQL, MS-SQL) to store students results in. I prefer MySQL, why? - it's free and it integrates easily with the programming language that will actually pull the data from the database, strip it and parse it for the SMS gateway and deliver the content to the student mobile phone. |
I want to be able to check the temperature in my foam factory if it higher than 28 degree celcius or when my CCTV camera notices motion above my home fence. I should get an SMS or an email then this happens or better trigger an alarm to the fire department or arm my latest M60 machine gun on top of my roof .You can make that happen? |
