The South East and South South are worst in term of ex governor looting the state in the name of pension. Till date, nobody know the pattern of remuneration of ex governor in Lagos. Many of them are likely living on thin pension compare to Akwa Ibom and some others. Yet the Igbo won't drag their politician. They are only obsessed with Lagos and Tinubu. Orji Uzor Kalu enrished himself with state wealth. He own the sun newspaper but during the #Endsars, we never here about properties vandalization.

This is what happen when you divert a well organized and successful protest to achieve your ethnic motive. But on the night of that shooting, outrightly falsified print linking the owner to Seyi Tinubu was flying in the air. Fake videos were circulated even bloggers joined the jamboree. All this steered the people towards the violence that target investment linked to Tinubu. That later spiral and spread to other states.

None of them has been consistent with their response. First a commander came out to say the shootings happened, he only went there to stop the boys, he never ordered the shooting...the governor admitted that it really happened but it came from powers bigger than him...and that 'only one person died'...

Next the army came back to say the shooting was photoshopped (after initially admitting).. the governor also came back to say nobody died...e never end there...

Army came again to say it was the governor that sent them...then governor and his godfather responded with 'only the fed government can order the military' bla bla bla...the back and forth accusations continued till it fizzled out...

Lagos is the worst governed State in Nigeria. The only state that refused to domesticate the FOI Bill and the only state that doesn't allow the public know it's contract and procurement details. Wonder why educated people are quiet about such monumental evil.

Other states are worse off. Transparency is a bygone in these region.. State where house proceeding are not broadcasted on TV. We saw Lagos assemble. The widely circulated video clip of Desmond Elliot is an example. You talk about public having knowledge of contract. Some state have no contract at all. The governor just decide and negotiate with any contractor to execute white elephant project. The assembly member are permanently pocketed.

The government won't release this CCTV. Even if the army only fire one shot, they'll feel it could be eternally circulated and used against Nigerian system . It will all be seen as a betrayal of the existing trust between the system and the military who prioritize their loyalty towards the ruling class rather than the people. Such action could stir discontent and revote from the military.

But if the footage has been shown to the panel member, let them describe in graphics detail what they saw. Exaggeration will be permitted, or government show us the footage. Some panel members like Rinu represents the protester and not some pliable organization. They should speak up.

It is not likely he committed the crime. There are several narrative about his case but mental illness was part of the heavy allegations.
