Ngige , alex and ken nnamdi stands a better chance than anyim

ACN is an ethnic party yet in their backyard, Tony Oneweek won under the flagship of ACN not to mention Ngige.

Ermmm, Edo nko? Even middle beltans came out to show support during the last election.

Okay, we siddon, we dey look.
my point exactly

APGA has nothing to offer ACN

best look at CPC or any northern party. But if APGA goes to the north, then they have to settle for VP which i think is a smart move IMO

then after VP, SE can look for presidency

unless there is a miracle of ACN AND APGA meeting and ACN loves APGA so much that SW and other ACN states gave APGA there support

even at that SS would vote along with the north. so it is a win win issue here

It doesn't take a genius to see why the Presidency is eluding the south east. How can any sane person even consider ACN as a platform to win the Presidency of Nigeria, i am yet to understand. 2015 is not a do or die for the southeast. Wat is important is to build on the success of GEJ to position for VP, Senate President and APGA decisive victory in South South States and Certain Northern Territory. Central Territory like Kwara, Abuja or even Kogi.

This will go along way not to box APGA as a regional party like ACN. Winning all 5 or possibly six south east state is not priority becos dat would be too easy for now. APGA has more dan enough time to make dis organisation  and structural reform. 2015 we support David Mark and Okonjo or vice versa, while Okorocha serve two term and transform Imo in preparation for the next general election.

If APGA must field a candidate, it should be Peter Obi, while ACN field Fashola. I doubt ACN will field Fashola 2015 becos the party itself is not riped for Nigeria Presidency, so they are likely to Offer Ngige to front ACN as a Natioanal Party(Detribalised) in preparation for 2019 or 21 wen dey present Fashola.

Dis is Politics not charity.
blisse

I would like to correct ur misinfomaton

ACN is not a regional party as it won edo, anambra, kogi, benue, also awka ibom and has popularity in borno, kwara, kogi, niger sokoto and kano

APGA is a regional as they won seats only in the SE.

please stop ur lies. moreover u are in UK how do u know which is a regional party and which is not

Will you stop distracting us with your very dumb questions steeped with subtle  tribalism and bigotry. So an Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa president is not Nigerian, right? Where is this Aboki from sef, Pluto?
Your hypocrisy fills my palate with bile every time you surruptituosly try to pit one tribe against another one. Abeg stop the nonsense jare!
As for claims that Igbos did not vote MKO, I personally think that propaganda is stale and has been rubbished by the introduction of the internet and political blogosphere  discussions. Abiola got more than the constitutional 25percent requirement in the four S/eastern states, whether he won there or not is immaterial, it is fraudulent for any conclusion of non-support by the Igbos to be drawn on the basis that he could not secure clear cut victories in a majority of the S/eastern states.
It would have been understandable if the case was like Buhari's, who got less than 10percent of the eastern region votes.
Finally, come 2015, the master stroke wont be that of Tinubu to decide but a well thought out alliance with first, the ACN(needs to shed off the Yoruba party  toga and the menacing Tinubu grip to be taken seriously in other regions), APGA(like it or not, in the s/east, they are the next best thing after PDP) and other aggrieved element from the Phi Dee Phi(as that is bound to happen come 2015)
But I doubt if Tinubu's ego wont get in the way, as there is bound to be personality clash with say Ngige(who wont want to be as docile and behind the scenes as Ribadu) .

LOL here is my taking

1. Tinubu does not control the SW or yorubas. You people have to get that

2. ACN is not a yoruba party because it won seats in edo, anambra, benue and next election states like sokoto awka ibom and borno would be ACN taking, Mark my words. Unlike APGA that is only in the SE.PLEAS TELL ME ANY OTHER STATE APGA WON IN ?

you can correct me

3. Hausa/igbo/yoruba are not the only Nigerians. We have ibibio, kanuri, tiv etc that can do a better job than hausa/igbo/yoruba. Then I asked; DO WE WANT AN IGBO/YORUBA/HAUSA president or dowe want A NIGERIAN PRESIDENT LIKE BUHARI SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Please answer the question

4. ACN and APGA WOULD NEVER EVER JOIN TO FORM A UNITARY PARTY. I am not cursing you people but this is a fact and I also stand to be corrected. Yoruba and Igbo are like oil and water, they can never mixed unless when cooked and the cooking in this case is if an outer comes to treaten yorubas and igbos, then they unite. Otherwise You people would never unite. too much bad blood between una

5. Tinubu can not lay down his pride for APGA, and even if he wants to, IT WOULD BE very very STU.PID of him to do so as he at the every advantage right now and APGA HAS NOTHING TO OFFER HIM. he has 3 states outside the SW zone and would get more next election.

He is rubbing shoulders with jonathan, OBJ, Ibb, Atiku and buhari etc No one in APGA has such powers even if the whole party combine, they can not do the same.

6. Fashola is more appealing to us the MASSES than any tribal president. If Ngige or Rochas surprise us by surpassing fashola's achievement then they stand a bargaining right.

lastly, the VP position is also very vry important. If lets say the North is going for presidentcy, then the VP must be from the SE for them to win

if the West is going for it, then the VP must be from the NE

if the SE is going for it the VP must be form NC/NW/NE

So the east is full of choices and this choices would tell us Nigerians if we are going to vote for them or not

But before Awo, Azikiwe etc had buildings named after them.

Interesting. Abiola got over 41% percent in those three Igbo states. Yet you claim Igbos didn't vote for.
It's a case of the cup being half-empty, when it i actually half-full.

If Igbos, were not voting for Abiola, (for any reason) which I believe you are insinuating, Abiola would get up to 10%. If in doubt, find out from Buhari. That he got over 41% percent actually means that he got additional three states to meet the 25% requirement.

I strongly believe, the Igbos voted for Abiola, the short fall could be attributed to perhaps campaign failure of divided opinions, or possibly rigging by the Tofa group. It's could very well be anything but tribalism.

Over 41% votes from 3 South-East states, and 53% from another SE state for Abiola is quiet impressive, let's face the truth here. Igbos voted for Abiola. Fact!
OK that aside. abiola is died now

Would u prefer an igbo president or a Nigerian president ?

My hero

https://www.myhero.com/images/guest/g33728/g33728_u32720_portrait.jpg

used to think that a hero is a male character who acted a role of attraction throughout the story. But when our teacher told us and also discovered from the DVD and the My Hero book sent to us, I now know that a hero is not only a person who is admired by many for his noble qualities, or bravery but also one who has positively touched one’s life directly or indirectly. There is no other person that I would say is my Hero than Chief Obafemi Awolowo. He was born in Ikenne South West of Nigeria on 6th March, 1909. His father was a peasant farmer but was able to register Chief Awolowo in Anglican primary school in Ikenne. When his father died, it was difficult for him to continue his education; but being a brave man, he served many masters to continue his education.

Chief Awolowo
He registered for part time studies and after his matriculation in 1939, he completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1944. He co-founded the trade union congress of Nigeria in 1943. He graduated as a lawyer in London in 1947. While in London; he founded the “EGBE OMO ODUDUWA” a Yoruba tribal society. Coming back to Nigeria, he set up a legal practice and in 1950 he organized other Yoruba leaders and formed the Action Group, which won the western Region elections in 1951. He became the leader of the banned Action Group and the leader of the Yoruba’s of Western Nigeria.
My hero became the Minister of Local Government from 1951-54 and later became the prime minister of Western Nigeria with the headquarters in Ibadan. He was able to achieve the following goals, which made the Western Region developed more than other regions.
(1) He built the first stadium of international standard in Nigeria (Liberty Stadium Ibadan)
(2) He built the first skyscraper in Nigeria (Cocoa House)
(3) He created the first television station in Nigeria known as the Western Nigeria Television Station (WNTV)
(4) He established the first radio station.

He resigned the premiership of Western Nigerian 1959 to contest for federal election but failed and he became the leader of opposition in the Federal House of Representative. He consolidated the Action Group to become the “best political party south of Sahara”. After his death, Chief Ojukwu said, "Awolowo was the best President Nigeria never had"

Chief Awolowo on Nigerian currency note

Federal Government named one of the premier universities after him. Former University of Ife in South West was changed to Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria's one hundred naira currency note carries his image and a street in Federal Capital Territory is named to immortalize his name.

Chief Obafemi Awolowo

I have chosen Chief Awolowo as my hero because I am not only a living being today but an educated person. This is because he:
• Fought for free health care, which gave my father the chance to survive during a disease out break at that time.
• Fought for free education at all levels, which gave my parents the opportunity to attend school at that time.
He also fought for other things in order to benefit the masses, which made him (Chief Obafemi Awolowo) and the Federal Government to be at opposing sides. Chief Awolowo was survived by Hannah his wife and three children. He lost one child in a car accident when he was young. For these and many others, Chief Awolowo has made me what I am and I have made him my hero, which he will always be because I don’t know where I would have been if he had not helped my parents.

I do not show any hate for Yoruba people but some bigoted individuals.
The decision to establish the University of Ife by the ruling Action Group party of the Western Region of Nigeria was in protest at the recommendations of the Ashby commission. The first Nigerian university was established in 1948 at Ibadan, in the western region as an external college of the university of London. However, the needs of Nigeria (then a British colony) far outstripped the productivity of the only university. In particular the University College at Ibadan had no faculty of engineering or technology, no law school, no pharmacy school or management training abilities. The Ashby commission, set up by the British, was to review tertiary education needs of the soon-to-be-independent nation of Nigeria.

In 1959, the Ashby commission recommended additional (regional) universities in the northern and eastern regions of Nigeria and another federal university in the Lagos protectorate, but none in the more educationally advanced western region which had a 'free and universal primary education' program. The government of the western region did not want to rely on the federal universities or those of other regions to admit its populous secondary school leavers.

as i said earlier, the university was not going well as was about to close down before awo came in to play. just like other missionary schools

This is coming from me Andrew-a Uite.
Awo can not be named in UI because he already has a univerisity in the SW. Are they going to name everything after Awo. undecided certainly not.

it is the north and SW that have this policies of naming things after people that are not from there region

I guess you are starkly oblivious to JAMB results all these years. By the way, Awo has nothing to do with First Bank. Just talk about National Bank, a subsidiary of WNDC, which Tafawa Balewa government almost wrestled out of the grips of western regional government under Awolowo if not for the legal benevolence of Chief Justice Daddy Onyeama.

@Alh Harem, please stop spreading further falsehood here. The Western Region nor Awo had no business with Unibadan. Unibadan was established by the colonialist. At independence, it was handed over to Nigerian ministry of education and it has remained like that till date. Do you not wonder why Unibadan has no specific catchment area despite being at the heart of Yorubaland?.
Even upon arrival at Unibadan, the structures you see, the environment and the names of the buildings there does not suggest any Western Nigerian influence. Trenchard Hall, K.Dike Library, Independence Hall, Azikiwe Hall, Tedder Hall, Bello Hall etc does not suggest any Awo or Western Nigerian influence.

This one is a lie.
I have corrected u guys in the past and you keep pushing this lie.
UNN was the first Nigerian full fledged university.
Awo dint have a hand in UI which was the first university although of foreign affiliation.
LOL the first Nigerian university was UI but who renovated it when the british left undecided the bristish or awo himself

dude schools in Nigeria started in the east with cross river and igbos having contact with white people who open missonary schools for ur guys in the bid to

1. educate the eastern Nigerians, thus before the civil war the east were more educted and had more soilders etc than he west. but now they have past the east in both the military and all phases on education. (I stand to be corrected)

2. to spread Christianity which the east is still predominatly christian today. All those schools could have been renovated by Zik before they collasped , isn't it

UI was going to blazes if not for Awo who did something about it. You can deny it all u like the the white built it but why should he build another when the current one was becoming another waste like everyother projects the whites did before leaving Nigeria.

please answer

RoadStar:
Another lie.
National Bank of Nigeria was fully acquired by the western regional government in 1960 long after Zik had created ACB in 1944
And long after Zik was a share holder in the same (National Bank) bank.
Although there were already foreign bank operating in Nigeria, Zik created the first Indigenous bank in Nigeria. (ACB)
again First bank Nigeria is Nigeria first bank which started in 1894. again another bristish mis-hap that was saved by awo using oduda funds

I stand to be corrected as well

Please where is National bank today ? when compared to other banks ?

did he make investments in the name of Nigeria ?

first bank in nigeria etc

this is why we love awo , Not just free education

secondly, the east had free education for 3 yrs by nnamdi but failed because it was not as planned as awo did

so what are you talkng about

what did Nnamdi achieve for us Nigerians ? that is the question

Free education which lagosians still benefit from

free health service which I benefitted from this yr

etc,

Bello, gave use free education which people like saraki etc benefitted from

Bello gave us a sense of unity in the north which still works for us

Olodo the southwest still have the highest poverty rate and highest illiteracy no ranting of urs will change dat till u stop living in self denial.
you have started with ur tribalistic ranting, well the east that has the lowest poverty rate and the most educated Nigerians, Goodluck to them. really it does not matter so long as we are all nigerians

htajz:
As for zik him being the father of nigeria independence from the british and first president of nigeria is enough achievenment for me unless u show me any national leader than achieved more then.
LOL who made him the father of nigeria independence, you or your family ?

as for independence, awolowo and enahoro fought for it as well. so what is ur point

Firs president , is it by imprisoning his friend and beoming ceremonial president ever in nigeria history

I think this reflex the fact the Zik was the first person that destroyed Nigeria democracy why not forming an election before declaring himself the president.

It is a shame he destroyed democracy but used his power to make himself president. Thus he is declared the first dictator in Nigeria history

true or false ?

htajz:
I mean national leader not village, tribal and regional champions that are always looking for how to cheat other groups.
But Zik was not a national leader as the COUNTRY NEVER EVER VOTED FOR HIM

Alhaji my dad schooled in the north and it was free, my mum also schooled in east(now cross rivers) and it was free, infact my primary and secondary school in the south south in the 80s were free. Free education was nationwide right even before independence starting from missionary schools to regional and state govt school , infact we still have free education in gov primary and second school today.
and that is why I said bello and awo

the east thing is a bloody lie, haba shocked zik himself said it

sam loco confimed it

I am a living witness

the british confimed it and i have brought this link out before

so who should i believe, your mum or everyone else

smh sad sad

lets go back to the topic

You could have known better if not for the deceitful free education floated by the regional government of western Nigeria under Awolowo. You could stand for a long time because we from the eastern region who had quality education had no business correcting waste pipes chunked out by western region of Nigeria. grin grin grin

Why do you people keep talking about free education in the west as an achievement , every part of nigeria had free education not only in the west , pls throw that into the dust bin ,Zik remains the greates nigerian leader and should not be compared with regional leaders like michael okparan awolowo, bello ,akanu ibiam and co who only impacted people in their regions and not the whole nigeria.
Mr man, why do you people lie like this

Ok this is even SAM LOCO talking, I bet he is older than you

Education
Going to school in the East then was tough. It was not like the Western Region where students got everything free. It was tough for us, so my nephew and I alternated street trading on a yearly basis to enable the other acquire education. But because of the staccato arrangement, I must confess that I had to attend so many primary schools.
I was a very good footballer and so I went to almost ten secondary schools playing football and getting scholarships here and there and I was stubborn as well. As I was being admitted into one, I was being expelled from another.

at least  Sam loco and 150 millon people of Nigeria CANNOT BE LYING undecided

Zik tried free educatio after awo which failed within 3 yrs. I also have an articules to prove this. If u demand

this is not about free education etc or awo and bello as if it is free educaton are there only profound achievements

this is about Zik my brother as talk about the topic not awo or west or north

When Zik, through his personal efforts, enabled many Africans from Kenya to Senegal and from Libya to RSA to afford a three square meal, Awolowo was still struggling to pass his law class quizzes.
LOL, so are kenyans senegla etc people priasing Nigeria of Zik now huh

are they calling him Zik of Africa now or are we just decieving ourselves. Moreover Zik NEVER NEVER GAVE any country the ablity to each 3 square meals. I STAND TO BE CORRECTED U lair. grin grin chai dede1 u too dey lie too much. well undecided
