The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Muhammed Adoke (SAN), has given the go-ahead to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to try four former governors for various offences they allegedly committed while in office.this is what they should have done all this while why do they need an "ok" from Adoke we Nigerians should ask why it took so long to try corrupt former governors |

https://lh4.ggpht.com/_C0B0C7RtHsU/TVTHvHdbsSI/AAAAAAAAA-c/BSaCX08DAoI/Sopona.jpg Sopona (or Shapona) is the god of smallpox in the Yoruba religion. The Yoruba people of Nigeria believed that smallpox was a disease foisted upon humans due to Shapona's "divine displeasure", and formal worship of the God of Smallpox was highly controlled by specific priests in charge of shrines to the God. People believed that if the priests were angered they were capable of causing smallpox outbreaks through their intimate relationship with Shapona. Suspecting that the priests were deliberately spreading the disease, the British colonial rulers banned the worship of Shapona in 1907. Worship continued, however, with the faithful paying homage to the God even after such activities were prohibited. Shapona was exported to the New World in the slave trade, where he became known as Omolu or Babalu Aye in the Orisha religion. Shakpana is an equivalent in Dahomey mythology. |

Not possible Gideonyte:Can u please stop that rubbish you posted what ND. was it Obj that told the oil companies to stay in lagos was the capital not moved to abuja was all HQ not moved to abuja, who asked them to stay in lagos at the first place ![]() MackDealer:LOL not Nairaland but Igbos. this what they want so an igbo man said, to see yorubas on their knees begging Seunn11:Now you know them, those are SE igbos for you and that is why Ikwerre would never ever allow them in port harcourt they can never rule port harcourt because of such mentality. How sad mathskill:Gbammm. abi we need peace in Nigeria To conclude How can a poster say; I quote " soon the yorubas will be decimated and would be on their knees" all in the name of the HQ moved to bonny island WHY DO IGBOS HATE YORUBA PEOPLE SO SO SOOO MUCH why would a fellow human being want another man to be on his knees all in the name of HQ why would another man want to see another fellow human being begging is that not sadistic |
Each of the 250 or more ethnic groups in Nigeria can converse in this language, though they usually have their own additional words. For example, the Yorùbás use the words Şe and Abi when speaking Pidgin. These are often used at the start or end of an intonated sentence or question. For example, "You are coming, right?" becomes Şe you dey come? or You dey come abi? Another example, the Igbos added the word, Nna also used at the beginning of some sentences to add effect. For example, man! that test was hard becomes Nna, that test hard no be small. Nigerian Pidgin also varies from place to place. Dialects of Nigerian Pidgin may include the Warri, Sapele, Benin, Port-Harcourt, Lagos especially in Ajegunle, Onitsha varieties. Nigerian Pidgin is most widely spoken in the oil rich Niger-Delta where most of its population speak it as their first language. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_Pidgin language history of krio or creole people by Kiro professors in freetown http://etd.ohiolink.edu/send-pdf.cgi/Fyle%20Margaret%20Sophia.pdf?osu1243356678 Now you want to tell me 1. Kiro people too borrowed those words even though pidgin english originated from them or at least originated from hawaii beofre getting to them and then Nigeria ? 2. Do u want to tell me that brazilians too borrowed words from Ijaws ? 3. Are kiro people to ijaws now since you share words with them and the yorubas ? 4. Words that clearly did not and was never part of ijaw words are now Ijaw words by killayut, so are you going to tell us how those words traveled to kwara, benin, togo, serri leano of all this are all pro-yoruba or yoruba groups groups ? 5. Killayut, Have you thought of the possiblilty that may be those ijaw words you think is Orignial Ijaw words MAY HAVE ORIGINATED FROM IGBO AND YORUBA WORDS ? Just the possiblity. |
jason123:Now you are talking ![]() |
Killayut those words like padi, mi , kilo she le, etc are actually yoruba words that krio people of serri leano use and they say they are related to yoruba examples of Krio pigin are. (Pigin english originated from there) and these words did not origniate from Ijaws bɔku (bohku) many, very much (< French beaucoup) padi friend waka walk Wowoh Ugly Rubbish botobata Example of there sentences are Kushe. - "Hello." notic yorubas use kilo she le Kusheh Hello, Hi some yorubas use Ki/u she le/h or can be kisheh (when joined) Now go read about krio yoruba people and heritage |
killayut:sure Nigerian culture are mixed even to words but I can't think of a yoruba word borrowed from Ijaws None of those words were borrowed from Ijaws. Infact it is the other way around suun/suuhn si ebe means shift and it has been used not only by aworis of lagos but even to Okun people of kogi Itah/ eta can mean story/ chronicles. About the Ondo thing of wife being itah/eta is proberly a mistake wife can mean iyawo/ Aya also yoruba say iyawo mi atata which is probably what u heard and could not say it well neither could u spell it. IF IRO MEANS LIES IN IJAW WHETHER EAST OR WEST THEN I CAN TELL YOU THAT IJAWS ARE YORUBAS AND NOT THE OTHERWAY AROUND That I can be sure of and no kill me because i said it and also i am not claiming. ![]() Spoilt child mean various things in yoruba 1. Omo e baje ;;;;which u said correctly 2. Omo oshi;;;;;rubbish child 3. Most lagosian ie egun and awori people use Omo e ti yo idin ;;;;which mean the same thing also Kolo fe/feh is "what do you want" not buy Killayut maybe some word were borrowed from the ijaws. I can never tell since I was not born 1000thousand year ago or so but all this words you are using are used by yorubas from Kwara, togo, benin, kogi, some of this words are even used by brazilains and kiro people of serri leano. This are groups that call themselves yorubas and I am sure have not have serious interactions with the ijaws to the extent that they borrowed these words from ijaw people. I really think you should go ask your parents or elders to tell you the truth and beg them to stop brain washing you with lies. my candid advice for you as a friend and i am such you would appreciate it for life. |
