Toaskarity:very very correct I have said it that the problem of Nigeria are the rulers of the country and not ethnic heterogeneity. This same people always play ethnic card to get power and popularity form gullible Nigerians. But I think SNC would be the best for now. |
Rochas is taking it overboard. How does two wrongs make one right ? He needs to be the mature Leader here. |
^anyway we have all agreed that genocide is possible.we have all accepted that we support split.we also have indicated our abilit ies to be violent. we need a SNC or soonest split. Violently.Igbos sorry O! Your clamour for a repeat genocide in africa will fail, except where you are the victims.
Yes I think federalism is the way follow in this country which Jonathan should do if he has conscience and truly love this country called Nigeria. |
Toaskarity:You are not getting my point. Again if any poster takes arsencfc post aka fstranger serious then the person is not a serious person himself. There are some posters not to be taken serious such as south-east, arsencfc and becomrich. I am not being a chameleon. Majority of the insults on this thread has been against yorubas or hausas which can not be justified because of one post from an unserious poster such as arsencfc. Not withstanding what is wrong is wrong and two wrongs does not make a right. I hope you understand my point. If i came across as a biased poster, then i apologise. |

If there is reduced cash in the system, banks would be able to compete favourably. There are so many alternative payment systems in Nigeria which are even more convenient and safe, but people are not using them.this to me struck me. To reduce crime rate of armed robbers etc there is need for a cashless economy. ie alternative way of banking and transaction .One thing I know is that this Man got it right on this. SLS good one |
By MICHAEL EBOH LAGOS— The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, said, yesterday, that the cost of processing, handling and managing cash, if not checked, will cost Nigeria about N192 billion by next year. CBN’s Deputy Director, Currency Operations, Mr. Albert Ikmseedun, who disclosed this at a sensitisation programme on the proposed cashless economy policy for the Muslim community in Lagos, said it was high time Nigerians embraced the new cashless policy due to the high cost of cash to the financial system. Sanusi Lamido He said the disadvantages of transacting businesses with cash, outweighs its advantages, noting that in 2009, the total cost spent on cash-in-transit was N27.3 billion, while cash processing stood at N69 billion. He appealed to residents of Lagos State to embrace the new policy when it becomes functional in the state, adding that the new policy would in the long run, help to bridge the gap between lending and deposit rates in the country. According to Ikmseedun, the policy does not mean that cash would no longer be in existence in the country, but that it was aimed at moderating the volume of cash in the system. He identified robbery, high cost of processing cash, revenue leakages, and inefficient treasury management, among others, as some of the negative side of a cash-based economic system. He said: “If there is reduced cash in the system, banks would be able to compete favourably. There are so many alternative payment systems in Nigeria which are even more convenient and safe, but people are not using them.” “With the improvement in communication in the country, there have been a lot of improvements in the payment system. “Cashless Lagos does not mean there would not be cash in Lagos again, but it is an industry collaborative effort aimed at executing the payment transformation plan of the state. “We are going to significantly increase the amount of Point of Sale (PoS) terminals in the state. We chose to start from Lagos because over 50 per cent of the money supply in the country ends up in this state. If it works here, then it can work in any other part of the country. The market is in Lagos and Lagos is mini-Nigeria.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/cashless-economy-policy-ll-save-nigeria-n192bn-cbn/ |
naijaking1:Yes in the north, there are desertified parts but Urban areas are well congested. Imo or Bayelsa have very small land mass compared to northern states. You have to understand that not everyone in Imo or Bayelsa live in the forest and not every one in Zamfara live in the desert. Lastly, figures are not quoted based on any national cake. Even before independence, the north has always been more populated but of course the south has more population density due to land mass. |
It depends on who you ask, to many Onitsha market is the largest in the entire Africa. Google is your friend, use.
I used it and also with me personal experience travelling and I concluded that Onitsha is not the largest market in Africa, west Africa or Nigeria. Based on transactions Onitsha in not top 3 on this country not to talk of Africa. With that said, it a market that has great potentials as an economic hub only if Peter Obi can nurture it and make it grow better to what it is today. |
rip, great inventor |
naijaking1:stop talking trash here pls |
So after the whole thread that was started to make people aware of Genocidal tendency in Nigeria. I can conclude that Nairalanders have not learnt anything. God help Nigeria. |
Really we are not illiterate in Nigeria. I know majority of you just want to sell us Chime but on a serious note; what is the point of CCTV when we have not identification on the people. |
Allah has bless this country with like of Fashola. |
Fashola Inaugurates N2.5bn Falomo Bridge IKOYI—Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, Wednesday, commissioned the N2.5 billion Falomo On–Ramp Bridge. At the commissioning of the 115-metres long bridge, Fashola explained that the project, executed in collaboration with Lekki Concession Company, LCC, under a Public Private Partnership, was aimed at easing traffic gridlock in Lagos Island. Falomo-bridge He said the project, which was constructed by LCC, was the first of such magnitude and specification to be built anywhere in the country. Fashola said: ”This is a deliverable of the 30-year PPP in 2006, pursuant to which the company is already rehabilitating and upgrading approximately 50 kilometres of the Eti-Osa Lekki–Epe Expressway and will also construct 20 kilometres of the Coastal Road. ”Of the N50 billion long- term finanacing raised by Lekki Concession Company to execute the on-going works on the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe Expressway, a substantial portion of which represents Foreign Direct Investment into Lagos State, N2.5 billion had been used to construct the new Falomo On–Ramp, that we will all be driving on soon.” He said the bridge would improve travel time for motorists travelling from Ikoyi from the Westbound lanes of Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, noting that motorists would now be able to access Ozumba Mbadiwe and Adeyemo Alakija streets’ intercession. Mr. Opuiyo Oforiokuma, MD/CEO of LCC, said the firm had undertaken the construction of many projects on concession arrangement with the state government. Special Adviser and Director-General, Office of Public Private Partnership, Lagos State, Mr. Ayo Gbeleyi, said the bridge is among the road works that constitutes the state infrastructure projects meant to complement the ongoing contentious Eti-Osa-Lekki –epe Expressway rehabilitation and expansion. ‘’It is a clear testimony of the enormous benefits derivable from PPP where private sector resources and expertise are leveraged by government in accelerating the delivery of public infrastructure land service to the people. This is therefore just one of the many projects currently under procurement with others in the pipeline,” he added. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/fashola-inaugurates-n2-5bn-falomo-bridge/ https://vml1.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Falomo-bridge.jpg |
PointB:LoL @ political marginalized SE. The only section of the country marginalized right now is the SW and they are not even complaining. The last election vote pattern was done based of tribalism which you were aware of ! So why should WE NIGERIANS MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AGAIN !!!!! It makes no sense don't you think ? If I vote for Rochas it is based PURELY on his ability to turn the country around for good and not based on anybody claiming to be marginalized and still ;4 people in the region in the first 7 positions in the country. Fashola is the best choice for Nigeria WITH or WITHOUT Tinubu he would get the votes that he was going to get anyway. Not like if tinubu goes, people that hate him would vote or him so what gives. SLS is also a very good choice, The word "BIGOT" is a convenient new way of pushing Northern Muslims aside in the political roam of the country. This is not the way to build a Nation where votes are based on Religion and ethnic groups. Ngozi is far from ruling Nigeria. Reason I said that is because she is the default prime minister now, thus she has the economic power in her hands. She can do the best for Nigeria Now that she is the prime Minister if she truly love the country. |
edoyad:Of course it is not accurate. To them Islamic school = Beggars. Such ignorance |
