Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, has undertaken to take care of the medical bills of veteran actor, Sadiq Daba, Igbere TV reports.

Otedola disclosed this in a statement released on Sunday.

Daba travelled to the United Kingdom in 2017 for the treatment of leukaemia and prostate cancer.

He returned to Nigeria a few weeks after with reports that his situation was not as bad as feared.

Two years after, the October 1 star was recently admitted at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital for what those close to him said was chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

“I heard about Mr. Sadiq Daba’s health condition when it was brought to my attention through an online news story I read two days ago,” Otedola said in his statement.

“I was saddened to hear that he had taken ill again after overcoming his challenges from prostate cancer just two years ago.

“From the news report, I gathered that he was rushed to the Emergency unit of LUTH after being diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

“I must say that even though I don’t know Mr. Daba personally, he is a face I am familiar with through the old TV drama production ‘Cock Crow at Dawn’ which I used to watch while growing up.

“I was moved by a sense of nostalgia and concern when I read of his medical situation recently and decided to take over his medical bills. He has been visited and arrangements are being made to support him.

“In other climes, the likes of Sadiq Daba and other such actors who more or less paved the way for the entertainment industry and the Nollywood industry in Nigeria (which is touted as the 3rd largest movie industry in the world) would be celebrated as Icons and due recognition would be accorded to them.

“For me, taking care of Sadiq’s medical expenses is my little way of showing appreciation and gratitude for the good memories he created for me and others in the past.”

Otedola had in April accepted to foot the medical bills of former Super Eagles’ coach, Christian Chukwu, who was reportedly diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Chukwu returned to the country two Fridays ago after his treatment in the UK which reportedly cost Otedola N36,635,000, Igbere TV reports.

A similar gesture was extended to Tinsel actor, Victor Olaotan, in 2018.

Olaotan became bedridden from an accident he had on the Lagos/Ibadan expressway in 2016.

As much as i respect Kukah,my dear Bishop i do not totally agree with him. Nobody is demonising Fulani,it is the herdsmen that are the problem. There are many Fulani business men in Oil and Gas,manufacturing,petty trading,transportation,burea de change and every other business in Nigeria and nobody complained about them. The cry is about herdsmen who took it upon themselves to bring havoc to their host instead of doing their normal business peacefully. We cannot be politically correct at the expense of our lives. If a bee stings you and you hear the buzz of a fly,you will flee. That is natural and no apologies to the herdsmen.

Its over two years sef,this is the third raining season we are experiencing this. No government presence or action. All the building especially the fast food that was constructed before this got worse was approved by the government. Heard the owner went to court and won and has reopened her business. There's a new sea growing on the same East/West road by Adamac before Deeperlife. Where is government? If Federal is too far to notice what of state and local govt. When will this end bikonu. Sometime last year a fully loaded container fell on a keke beside my office. The rest they say is history for all occupants of the tricycle,including a woman and her baby. The baby was so crushed that if not for a piece of cloth you wouldnt know thats a human being. It took over 2hrs for a crane to finally arrive the scene. People watched them die. The scene still haunt me till today. I ask again When will this end bikonu? It's not enough to say RIP. Nigerians what can we do to prevent a future occurence?

I was waiting for you to show him the word and you just did. Many pastors don't quote this part and that is the exact place the commandments was given. Tithe is for the levites who had no inheritance among the people. So out of what you make you keep a part for them. Imagine paying tithe to someone who is busy inheriting the earth. This week was one of my happy week since 8 year ago, i just returned my wife back to her parents because of following reason:
1 .She don't have any atom of respect for me including all my family member.
2.she is always compliant that she don't like sex or giving you conditions and time to have sex with her
3. She believed that her decision or whatever she said is finally.
4.She wouldn't Cook, because she cook yesterday I.e would you take Tea or
5.She don't like go to church and prayer,my little child of 4 year is aware that her mother don't prayer
6.She wouldn't pick my phone call n when she pick she would asking me with high voice why call her.
7.She don't want me to talk her, let me allow to do whatever she want

1.Even if it was comprehensive...the thing is, all our four refineries at full capacity (and even with all the millions spent...they were never able to get capacity above 50%...which is what your link said by the way) cannot meet our domestic needs.

The last refinery we built in Nigeria was commissioned in 1988. Since then, the number of cars in this country has increased.

And even then, as far back as 1990...we were having scarcity of fuel partly because (my opinion) all the four refienreis could not meet demand adequately.

From your analysis i observed that the landing cost of fuel never came down. That's shows that even if subsidy goes, the cost of fuel will get higher and remain higher. No competition will bring it down. Believe me there will be no competition sef. The dealers in petroleum products are organised cronies not salt and pepper dealers. Labour union know this and that's why they fight against subsidy removal. We benefit nothing from the government, not light, not water, not security, let them pay the subsidy. The only way forward is local refining. Dangote is already doing a great job. Let the government build modular refinery they promised if TAM is too much for them. Nigeria should save money from the cost of governance or recover all the Abacha loot and use it to rehabilitate the refineries. I knew from the beginning there's not much Kachikwu can do. Government over the years including this one lack the will power to do the needful and for me it's not removing subsidy.

In the days of our fore fathers Africa men are polygamous,they marry many wives if they can afford it but they don't go about sleeping with random girls. They don't even have intimacy until they have married the girl and brought her home. And the other wife or wives are usually part of the marriage ceremony. Today Men go about sleeping with anything on skirt in the name of polygamy. The definition of polygamy is not having numerous girl friends but wives. If you want to be polygamous marry her.
