Point being what? If he is in a combat unit or in a combat area it is only normal for him to be armed. Not to mention the driver of a APC and IFV are typically Infantry.

Tell all the lies you want, Nigeria is winning her own war. South Africa lost her battles grin grin

PHOTO : CAPTURED BOKOS
.
Iraq killed and captured Americans, the French, polish, dutch, extra all killed and captured Germans, The Boer Killed and captured Brits, The Axis Killed and captured Allied solders, Extra Extra. They still lost the war. War is determined not by deaths but by objectives. The defenders of constantopal killed many more turks than they lost men but they failed in there goal.

Nigeria is failing to contain BH, instead BH is growing stronger and bolder.

Buffoon, An allegation of money laundering is simply that until proven otherwise. Instead of you to admit that your government is looking for ways to fill their treasury or are pissed of because a bunch of your gullible citizens troop to a pastor in Naija looking for miracles and lost their lives.

The money ($5.7 million) came from the government and was transferred to a "private" SA company that could not fulfill their obligation to procure weapons because their license expired in May 2014. A "covert" procurement or arms is not necessarily illegal when you have an "unofficial" embargo of procuring weapons by the so called World powers.

They were asked to return the money and in the process of returning money back to Nigeria, SA customs (government of S) seizes the money en route on the suspicion that "it was not declared" and not necessarily that they had any evidence that this was money laundering.

If this is the case isn't it sensible to follow diplomatic protocol and give reasonable course for the explanation of the funds and if deemed sufficient and not illegal, return funds back

A cheap attempt to score points for your Euro/Western trade masters and a terribly flimsy attempt to embarrass Nigeria due to this "imagined" rivalry btw the two countries.

You will pay the price. Naija no dey carry last.

You want beef, bring it!
The point of the cash is not the issue. You don't fly in that much money like that. Hell why not use diplomatic parcel. Those can not be searched. Your government make a mistake not our. We where doing our job. Any case we sell lost of military hardware to Nigeria, there is no issue there.

that proves Nigeria is richer than you people. For if we all own generators and fuel it for daily use then that is luxury for it is far more expensive to buy and run and maintain a generator than paying for electricity bills. Like i told you the whole West are weary and sleepless because of China's GDP and population. That is what Nigeria does to you.
Or maybe there are a lot of people in Nigeria who live in darkness.

How is 10 Half-french helicopters equal to half of 24?

You don't have Half of your needs. Your military, especially your airforce is grossly under-equipped.
True, but they still better than yours.

Your soldiers got roundly and utterly defeated in CAR. No question about this.

Nigerian troops have been kicking butt in modern african war-fare since 1991( sierra-leone, ) 1993 (somalia) etc etc.
They got attack by a massive force and held there ground. Nigeria gets there bases and towns over run

Easy, use of Cluster b.ombs with one single bomb spreading 500 b.omblets covering an entire area of 10 kilometer square directly above the ship and all around it.

There will be no escape for your Frigate from the hands of a NAF maritime Alpha jet Wide Area Cluster Bomber.
.
You do know cluster bombs will not sick a frigate or even a strike craft.. To get that spread of 10km squar how many bomblets would actually hit the frigate. You have zero understanding of what you speak as normal.

90% of the countries in the world DO NOT use dedicated combat helicopters, that proves my own point

The fact the UN prefer the rooivalk over the hind. And it is not really a issue. The Hind is not has good I mean Cubans and angola used them and they hardly get a mention unless it is has something getting shot down.

not every country can afforded dedicated attack choppers.

Nope, nothing classified in old version Type 209 submarine that many country's already use for decades.

Is your Submarine radar for air scan of enemy aircraft as @Andrewza claims or sea scan as you people now claim for anti-piracy operations?

Also tell us the range of your OPV-Submarine radar and sonar that will be used to chase pirates from Southern hemisphere to Northern hemisphere in Gulf Of Guinea across ocean expanse measuring over 5 million square kilometers grin grin

Don't be afraid to answer, you people said your Submarine is better than our OPV for anti-piracy, so let's compare....answer my questions

.
sorry many things are classified on it, sea scan can pic up low flying aircraft. Hell you can use sea scan to track rain. What the typ 209s sub can not do is target and trak a aircraft but that a moot poit since it is a sub. Any case in combat the sub would not use it's radar it is mostly for peace time.

Subs for anti piracy is for intel gathering.

First things first, Patrick, since you joined this forum you have not made a single truthful comment.

Mr Mokopa, truth is the farthest thing from you.

All my posts have all been proven to be accurate. The fact you have no aviation fuel and the fact you fly 70years old dakota and 3rd hand C-130's from the U.S have all been proven to be accurate.
What? we make aviation fuel and the USA still flies C130s of the same type of ours. Do you make fuel, or did your refriens break down again?

No..... beauty varies by what you decide to show and publicize.

Fact that South Africa makes lots of photos of what they have and display their best tourists sites on internet does not makes other countries less beautiful. Every country is not photomaniac.

Most French tourists visit francophone West Africa.

I live in the USA and every year, 90% of well to do Americans travel overseas for tourism. The top list destinations are :

Mexico
Brazil
Spain
Hawaii
Bahamas
Dubai
Thailand
Vietnam
Italy...Roman empire monuments and great arts
Australia
Egypt....Pyramids
Israel...Bible monumet sites
Kenya....Safari

Sorry, very very few American tourists know about South Africa. The biggest tourist travellers in this world are the Americans and those places they visit around the world are said to be awesomely beautiful.

The world neither starts nor ends in South Africa, you SA guys need to travel out and go see that none of the seven wonders of the world is found in South Africa, I am sure the great wall of China is not situated in Cape Town

.
.
Hawaii is American. Any case we mostly get euro and asian tourists.

AugustineAgain:

Most airforces in this world don't want a single role attack only dedicated helicopter like Rooicalk, and those air forces are more powerful than South African airforce. Mighty Ethiopian and Braziliian air forces are some of them, they fly only multi-role combat helicopters combining attack with transport like Mi-35 Hind. However, during attack mission most Hinds do not carry troops, they operate in attack mode only.

Mi-35M of Nigeria carries 2,500 kg of weapons, Rooivalk of SAAF carries only 1,500 kg of weapons.

Also the Mi-35M carries guided bombs, bigger 30mm gun, and 20km range rockets....All those are missing on your inferior Rooivalks.

Nigeria has Africa's most powerful combat helicopter fleet today !

.

USA, Germany, UK, France, Netherlands, South Korea, Japan, turkey, Italy, extra extra all use dedicated attack helicopters even china and Russia are building dedicated attack helicopters. Hinds do both jobs worse than the dedicated version.

One Alpha jet will sink ALL four Valour frigates in one day !

You failed to anserw how you will hit a moving ship from 12km high with unguided weapons.

To hit the RN ships with dumb bombs the Argies flew so close that many bombs failed to arm.

Meanwhile...

IRIS-T speed mach 3

PL-9C speed mach 3+

You guys should stop trying to beat me at my own game....look for my weakpoint if you are smart enough to find it

PL9 has the same seeker head as the python AAM, SA makes counter messuers and as the Python AAM thus the PL9 AAMs seeker head. We can thus make a counter the PL9 far better than you the IRIS-T.

Nigerian air defence is NOT mythical, we have displyed them in action on this forum. All South African air force aircraft will be sh.ot down in 1 minute.

Mokopa has 10km range, now show us the range of the FLIR targeting system on your Rooivalk helicopters.....it is less than 5km... Rooivalk will be withing death zone range of Nigerian army k.iller Roland anti-aircraft missiles and Shilka AAA has 7km maximum range.

That is not a pic of a data link, you can not take a pic of a data link. It is a concept of linking data not a Fing radar scope

Henry120: Nigeria had signed a long standing contract with ukraine for the delivery of T-84M tanks. There hve been tank crews training in the ukraine on the system, even before the Ukraine crisis began.

Nigerians do not claim. I provided prove on a Czech republic newspaper which clearly stated nigeria, Algeria and India are to take delivery of T-72's from cezch surplus stock.

There is no proof nigeria received or use the following,
****Fighter jets( although we haven't yet seen these)
Streit MK III
MRAPs
MI-35M helicopters
T-84 Oplot
Gulma Etc etc, however, we've seen photos of nigerian troops and pilots operating these systems.
I have found no source to back this up.

TTD

http://www.military-today.com/tanks/tank_technology_demonstrator.htm

The TTD or Tank Technology Demonstrator prototype main battle tank was completed in the early 1990s. It used some German Leopard 2 MBT technology and was intended to replace ageing South African MBTs. Only a prototype has been built and the TTD never went into service because of limited funding. This vehicle is currently kept at the Armor Museum. Some of the TTD subsystems were applied to the Olifant Mk.2. These upgraded MBTs are expected to serve well into the 21st century.

The TTD has all-welded steel hull and turret. Vehicle is protected by a composite armor. No official details of the protection have been released, however it was claimed that the front arc protects against APFSDS and HEAT rounds of unspecified caliber. All-round protection is against medium-caliber rounds. All critical subsystems are also protected against medium-caliber fire. Protection could be enhanced by modular add-on armor packages or ERA packages. Vehicle has improved protection against anti-tank mines.

The Tank Technology Demonstrator is armed with a GT-7 105-mm rifled gun, which is similar to British L7 tank gun, mounted in the Olifant Mk.1B tank turret. This gun fires all standard NATO 105-mm tank ammunition. It has a rate of fire in 6 rounds per minute. It is worth mentioning that the turret of the TTD can accommodate larger LIW 120-mm smoothbore gun. Most of the rounds for the main gun is stored inside the turret bustle, separated from the crew by armored screen and fitted with blow-off panels. Loader automatically pre-selects ammunition type. This Olifant Mk.1B turret is compatible with application on Centurion and Chieftain main battle tanks, making this turret suitable for upgrading these tanks.

Secondary armament consists of two 7.62-mm machine guns. One of them is mounted coaxially with the main gun, second is located on top of the roof.

This prototype main battle tank is fitted with modern fire control system. It provides a good fire accuracy even on the move. Vehicle is also fitted with navigation and communication equipment.

The Tank Technology Demonstrator has a crew of four, including commander, gunner, loader and driver.

Vehicle is powered by unspecified turbocharged diesel engine, developing 1 250 hp. It was designed to operate away from workshop support and is capable of self-deploying over long distances.

MikeZA: I'm not surprised by your wishful thinking, and fantasy world sentiments.

Link-ZA is part of Combat Net Interoperability Standard(CNIS),introduced as part of 98 defence review along with Gripens,Hawks,Submarines etc.

Every Gripen,Valour class frigate,Oryx etc is tracked using Link-ZA during operations, unlike some whom jets vanish under their noises.

"You don't have a brain cause we can't see it",type of argument you're putting up.

Regarding the numbers of the Rooivalk,The Test Flight and development centre(TFDC) where one Rooivalk is stationed is part or a unit of the South African Air force.

The South African air has 11 Rooivalks. The SANDF doesn't hoard equipment,as part of aircraft life span it'll will be upgraded, integrated with newer avionics,EW kit and weapons.

With that in mind one airframe is kept at the centre. Like a true military.

Unlike your rebel force, grappling to deal with ill trained boko boys whom continue to "chop your land" like Cameroon did with the Bakassi peninsula. grin grin grin grin grin
Even every SF operator can car a impi tracker that can hook up with link ZA and be tracked, means when he needs support it will arrive where he is. Even the Navies Xena boats are linked with link ZA and the xeana base can track them any where. Every new radio purchased by the SANDF must be LINK-ZA compatible

Patchesagain: it could still just go back into production ya'know

Plus, new MBT is so low on the list of needs. Hopefully something new will be on the market.

In anycase, something like the Jap Type 10 or Leclerc MBT is more in line with what we need.

Or... we could break the bank an invest in K-2's shocked

Basically, there is so much out there, not getting the Leo would not be the end of the world.

Hell, maybe some Chally 2's will be on the market by then...

Basically, as long as we dont buy slavshit, im happy
if we buy new we may as well just build the TTD
