Southern Presidency be it SS, SW, SE requires full southern support. Anyone, who fails to understand this doesn't understand nigerian politics. Tinubu is probably the best politician out of the SW in a generation but his strategy has one flaw, the Awolowo flaw, Abiola flaw. Trying to win at the center by relying on Northern votes and dismissing southern disunity. This is shortsighted and lazy for someone of his political skill. This can only work for a southern puppet selected by the north itself. Study GEJ 2011 election map and strategy, that is the only way a true Southern President can emerge. GEJ 2022 is another southern puppet presidency a la OBJ 1999, while a viable path, it will be ineffective and meaninglessness for the south and southern interests. Consolidate the south, then peel off weak states in the north. It is still not too late.

Good thoughts, but politics is also like running a business. Scarce resources must be spent on what brings the highest ROI and more relevant to business growth/sustainability/consolidation. Bridging the divisions within the South that took generations to widen will take a lot of effort and goodwill on all sides. That's missing on all sides.

Politicians seek what will yield quick results/success. It's the nature of politics. Tambuwal stood down for Atiku but no Southern withdrew for each other. Northern unity and desire for hegemony already began with Ahmadu Bello. It remains today. Over several generations now.

Let me make it clear that at the APC primaries, the APC will either adopt a consensus system by picking Jonathan (if the rumors are true) to battle Atiku at the general elections or Tinubu would win the primaries outrightly.
Amaechi doesn't stand a chance. Not even a second place will fit him.

In all, APC will come out victorious in the general elections.

There is one potential twist you didn't recognise. If Tinubu wins primaries outrightly, it could be a poisoned chalice for the following reasons:
(1)Tinubu will have to pick a Northern Christian, which the North won't like. Because in "case of incasity", a Northern Christian could become president. The North won't like it. Muslim-Muslim ticket won't cut it. This is not 1993. We are too divided now.
(2)The North/cabal won't want a super ambitious person like Tinubu to potentially spend 8 years. It means El-Rufai and other ambitious Northern "young Turks" might miss their chance. They might work against his election victory.

(3) APC is a very loosely aligned election vehicle which Northerners can dismantle secretly to support Atiku to keep power in the North. There is no major event like MKO death in 1998 to make the North want to assuage the South. They can take presidency in 2023 and nothing will happen.

If indeed GEJ is brought in last minute by APC, it will be to have a strong Northern VP to warm up for 2027 while pretending to have a "moral high ground" by saying look, we have rotated power to the South for equity. Unlike PDP that has not.

Emergence of Atiku is a major headache for APC and Tinubu. It has made their maths much more complicated. Wike winning was what Tinubu would have wanted. Of course they would have been planning for this scenario but hoping never to see it happen. That's why they kept postponing APC primaries to see PDP outcome first. A winning and satisfactory primaries outcome will now be difficult for APC. If Tinubu loses primaries, he will work with PDP secretly like he did in 2011. Because neither NNPP nor SDP can give him a good enough platform and structure to win presidency.

Fashola as a minister has no power to construct any road of his choice. He is only there to oversee the projects covered under FG's blueprint and approved by the FEC. Anenih also oversaw the projects the FG asked his ministry to embark upon as a minister.

Let's be honest, Anenih nor try as minister. Benin-Lagos road was at it's worst in 25 years when he was minister. That road was among FG's roads to be renovated. He didn't try. Lots of money was embezzled as usual. He did get his cronies into positions such Elder Ugbesia. But on ground, he didn't try. Lots of Uromi people believe that he didn't use his closeness to OBJ to bring development Uromi/Agbazilo.

As for state and local govt roads, he had to mandate for those.
