ZaddyJ:It's not so easy o. GEJ was to placate Ijaw, the main tribe in MEND and volunteer force, etc. If it was an Urhobo person in Delta, I will understand. There is Oil producing State and there are oil producing areas in a state, they are different, especially in states with clear tribal lines. The calculation I believe is to use Igboid-leaning Okowa to placate SE while also pleasing SS. At the end it could turn out that Okowo is neither Igbo nor SS enough in the eyes of people. Atiku should have been bold enough to pick an Igbo/SE person or Udom Emanuel (from a major oil producing state) if he feels that Wike is too controversial. If Atiku cannot do very well in NE and NW, he will lose the election. Tinubu now has about 60% chance of winning. This could rise to 70% depending on his VP choice. |
erico2k2:The guy you quoted is unaware that politics is law really. He doesn't know why parliamentarians make law. In Westminster system practiced by UK, Canada, NZ, Ireland, Australia, etc, the PM/Head of government is a lawmaker/parliamentarian too. Nobody is better prepared for politics naturally as a lawyer who is used to convincing a highly learned judge with his argument. A medic is a scientist whose remit and mindset is about diligence and scientific truth. The lawyer can apply falsehood or at least cast doubt on something that is actually true if it serves his client's cause (in criminal and civil cases for example) and that's akin to politics. Moreover in 9ja rofo rofo politics with shiploads of agberos that will fan out from Lagos across the country during election, Atiku needed a craze person like Wike to mix it up during next election. I don't think Okowa's redcap will convince SE to ditch Labour/Obi. |
openmine:When Michael Owen left for Madrid, Gerard stepped up as leader. Champions League trophy won in 2005, final again in 2007 and close to winning EPL a few times too. Diaz and Nunez have age on their side. They both have the work ethic needed. Jota will keep improving. Our recent successes mean that we can attract big names now. We need one or 2 good midfielders to gradually replace Milner and Henderson |
Beverlyjean:Salah is leaving next summer too. On Free transfer. That will be final big cash out of his career. I doubt Salah has any role in it. I guess Mane wants to prolong his career by going to a slower league. He really wants to leave. EPL is too intense as legs are getting tired. Remember too that European clubs/managers always have some doubts about age of African players. Mourinho and Harry Redknapp openly said so in the past. |
inoki247:Over 100 million. Upscaling twice for our 200 million population will be easy. You don't need 1.5 billion population study of China or 1.3 billion of India to solve our problem. Egypt is also on the African continent and closer to us. |
Omonayanoranmiy:You don't understand Benin history well enough. The last Ogiso called Owodo had no heirs except Prince Ekaladerhan, his son, that he had ordered to be killed. Of course it was due to conspiracy of the Prince's stepmother, Queen Esagho. The Prince was luckily spared by executioners and found his way to Ile-Ife. He later managed to displace original rulers of Ife and became king Izoduwa/Imadoduwa/Oduduwa. Because Ogiso position and those of 5 elders of the land: Oliha, Edohen, Ero, Ezomo and Eholo n'Ire titles had become hereditary and the elders' ancestors had sworn at Idu shrine to ensure that only a prince becomes the King and the King must ensure their son also inherit the elders' position, the elders cum "Chiefs" had to fulfil that ancestral oath by seeking out any surviving son or blood male kin of the king. Otherwise inheritance of their titles by their sons was in jeopardy. Imadoduwa was already old by the time the chiefs led by Oliha managed to trace him to Ife. Also, the prince had sworn an oath with the executioners never to set foot on Benin Land again in his life as a condition for the executioners to spare his life. The executioners where effectively committing treason by not carrying out the kings instruction to the letter. In any case, when Oliha reached Ife, the executioners must have long be dead, so reversing the oath was impossible. Oduduwa must also have been quite comfortable in Ife to return to Benin. Oduduwa entered Ife from the East, Benin/Igodo is East of Ife. Not a proof but quite interesting. Betrayal by Oliha does not arise at all. In Benin history, Urhobo people are linked with Udo town and Aka, a descendant of Idu and possibly also Oba Ogbeka of Benin. Led by Oliha, the 5 elders remain 5 of the 7 King crowners grade of Benin nobility with their own palaces, senior nobility of the land. They are at times incorrectly called kingmakers. They are town/quarter chiefs and not really palace chiefs of the Oba. They are also not dukes as dukes are basically royals or descendants of previous kings, with few exceptions (who are not royal dukes). Dukes/Enogie are provincial governors. |
FG/Bubu allowed Tinubu to win presidential primary so he is an economic genius. According to Zone Bs he can do no wrong. They will also say that if GEJ was in power, the borrowing would be N1000tn by now. ![]() |
JooEeL:Lol. Thanks. I'm a perpetual student actually. ![]() What I can learn today is more important than what I have learnt until now. I grew up surrounded by historians, linguists and writers. Science is my main scholarly interest. |
real777:Thanks my brother. We learn from each other. I am actually at much more at home with Science, especially human body/health. My interest in humanities/history/languages happened by accident of environment initially but grew from there. |
JooEeL:Maybe because it's a very ancient language, in African terms and in how it has been preserved. But extremely rich in idiomatic expressions. Despite interaction with East and West, and some level of acculturation both ways, Benin Language was pretty much well preserved. Compare to Yoruba that have basically now made Oyo dialect common dialect. Common/Oyo Yoruba is displacing other dialects locally, for example, in Eastern Yorubaland. My observation visiting those places. Oyo dialect was quite influenced by Arabic and Languages to the North. Despite being preserved, simplification must have been more likely. I may be wrong though. Coptic, Chinese, Sanskrit, Greek, Korean, Hebrew, Aramaic, Tamil, Persian Farsi and even Arabic don't sound easy on the ear. These are very very old languages still in use. I have heard people speak all these languages first hand except Aramaic, which I have only heard spoken in audio/recorded form/film. English, for example, came from Old German and it sounds much easier on the ear than modern German, Dutch or Danish/Norwegian that are much closer to their old Ur-Germanic language. English was much influenced by French (infusing most Latin words we have in English now) after 1066 Conquest by William, Duke of Normandy. |
Is it not "eleyi" that his ex-wife is now advocate for more funds and more pornographic energy? ![]() Beware who you take as your motivational speaker. |
Chai! This will not make FP. But if na GEJ, Atiku or Peter Obi, FP straight. ![]() Mods! |
All these people nor serious o. Surprised that Dino Melaye is missing this party. These workers need him at the party. ![]() |
Deltatoto:But remember that APC was created to forcefully grab power, even form a parallel govt against GEJ if they lost, whether fairly or unfairly. That's why they had no plan to rule. So neither Tinubu nor Northern cabal actually cares about the party unless it gives or retains them in power. Therefore, if APC implodes before February 2023 elections, the North will just fully support Atiku. He is Fulani and clearly naturally has Northern interest at heart. Atiku needs Northern votes than Southern votes to win. If the South loses out in the primaries, it will be due to individual greed and agbero tactics in information management/media. Even if the South is given presidential candidacy, with the furore over the past few days, it could end up as a poisoned chalice. |
Creamypie:Chai, this VAWULENCE you are growing like Kwale weed will cause kata kata o. Diaris Gawd o! ![]() |
Pornographic energy she means. Good luck in her search. God help the next unfortunate guy. |
drlateef:Tah! Don't be clever by half. Very deceitful lot talking from both sides of the mouth. Who doesn't know the history of what went down? If a company owned by Femi Pedro, Sarah Sosan or any other Lagos person, or even the true original Lagosians had put in a bid, would Tinubu allow it? Had the sitting gov refused, he would have given him/her and earlier version of Ambode treatment. Your overestimation of yourself and a very poor attempt to obfuscate is what makes someone like you a narrow minded bigoted blockhead. ![]() |
drlateef:If you re-incarnate a million times, you will still be less than a bigoted nitwit. Let them take GEJ to court if they believe he instructed anybody to steal. At least GEJ doesn't corner 14% of 9ja revenue monthly after leaving office like your lord and saviour does in Lagos. That's the angel you want us to have as president. By the time he's finished with 9ja, all the markets in 9ja will be under control of his female family members, other positions with his relatives, in-laws and servants and 75% of 9ja revenue will go to his pocket, The self-acclaimed maker and creator, Mr Entitlement. But someone with eternal covenant with servitude and poverty like you will gladly accept such. ![]() |
drlateef:At bolded, Sanussi alleged $100 billion, then $20 billion, yet no proof. Sanusi got rewarded with Emirship lobbied by Tinubu. We remember how Tinubu moved to Kano to lobby Gov. Kwakwanso back then. But his 30 Shekels didn't last. Ganduje booted him out. How much has Minister of Petroleum (Bubu) stolen since 2015? We will find out later. OK, at least GEJ recognised NOI as a good technocrat and brought her back. Remember that SW people hated GEJ for giving brilliant SE people top cabinet positions. ![]() Did Buhari built on GEJ's boom? No. Hatred made APC truncate most GEJ plans except those that directly favoured SW and North like railway. 2nd Niger Bridge is a ruse. |
drlateef:You have just displayed your tribalism and bigotry about Niger Delta people who drink. Jonathan was corrupt and yet he is walking free. Then Buhari must be far worse in his corruption to let GEJ walk free. Economy was booming and people weren't hungry like now. Of all the people in 9ja from your state who don't drink, it is GEJ that Bubu and AU now make peace envoy to conflict zones. ![]() All those propaganda in opposition that APC fed their urchins, now in power they know that khaki nor be leather. ![]() Actually GEJ going just allowed most Nigerians to fulfil their covenant with poverty as poverty capital of the world now. Voodoo economists were saying that oil prices were high, so GEJ govt had plenty of money. But they forgot conveniently that high oil prices meant govt had to pay astronomical oil subsidies to importers who were most North and SW companies. They deceived their people to protest in order to keep the oil subsidies they were stealing (by faking documents of landing and re-routing petrol cargoes to neighbouring countries to resell at higher rate. Now we pay far higher subsidies than GEJ time. Why should I be sad? GEJ even spent his time in office trying to help the North grow and educate their almajiris to reduce potential terrorists in the future. It is 9ja that lost. |
drlateef:But who told you that these politicians want the country to get better? They just power and more money. If Tinubu truly wanted 9ja to get better, he would never have packaged disastrous Buhari for Nigerians to vote, as he boasted in Ogun a few days ago. Tinubu wanted a desperate loser like Buhari was to help win and return the favour in the future. It was all about winning. What happens once Buhari was in power was irrelevant. No wonder Tinubu asked "Where are the cows?" over the dead bodies of Yoruba people killed by herdsmen. Let's be honest with ourselves for once, |
drlateef:But maybe the North/cabal don't want a strong candidate from the South. So that if he wins, he won't feel too cocky or have a sense of entitlement. And their bidding always. Imagine, Tinubu has not yet secured the ticket, he is already saying that he made everybody what they are. So what if he is now president? A sense of entitlement that the North were always concerned about. Frankly, even many Southerners who suspected such attitude now have it confirmed. So, the North, if they choose to let a Southerner be APC candidate, it will be a Southerner who will show them gratitude. It greatly improves the chances of Amaechi, Fayemi and Osinbajo. |
KingKO22:Very true! Just like Tinubu led the betrayal of Southern presidency/GEJ in 2015? Or in your mindset, South only means SW? |
Billingslord:Abeg Ghana, Egypt, Malawi and co, beware of these your 9ja trained people o. Otherwise they will bring 9ja darkness to you people over there. ![]() |
OkoroBufo:Educate us with your sense and give us the figures and how parliamentary system of that time worked. |
Abdul05:Dude, try to educate yourself about history first. In 1959 general election NPC had 134 seats, NNPC 81 seats, AG, 73 seats. NEPU and other small parties allied to the North/NPC would give NPC about 15 more seats. Groups allied to AG maybe 8 to 10 more seats. In Westminster/parliamentary of that time (as it still is in UK today), the party with majority of seats has the first choice to form a govt. NNPC-AG coalition government would have been a very unstable minority FG. Any little dissent by a few MPs from any of the coalition parties renders the govt a lame duck. Unable to pass bills. The first coup would have occurred much earlier. NPC of Balewa had first choice anyway. YCE should try to be more honest. We know it is every tribe fighting for itself but let's be honest with ourselves a bit. |
[[center]quote author=Abdul05 post=113389948]Signifying that,.... Every tribe should fight for their own political right.. ![]() To be honest, Azikiwe fvck up big time.. he should have size the gotten opportunity to install at the federal level... Not the British at all... ![]() He was the one , Zik himself that political set up the north to be bigger the south ..as if the Southerners were forever to be slaves to the North imagine that ...just because of hatred against your fellow southerner... ![]() Read the theory below.. ![]() No ibo man can ever rule this country.... IamDora:The bolded alone is the major reason for you not to go. If he didn't call never mind pay his last respects to your mum, why grace his wedding? The fiancée probably tried convincing him to invite you but refused. Not to be seen as the cause of separation between two cousins, she invited you. If the fiancée has been really good and friendly to you (at least on the surface), send her a wedding gift. DON'T GO! |
Her parents should have long had the hernia repaired surgically. At least after the age of 5 if the umbilical hernia was already there at that time. It looks cute but can be dangerous. Her intestine (part thereof) can incarcerate and even subsequently strangulate inside the hernia. Not something you want to risk. A fairly common procedure. She should get it done. |
Kingcalls:Cross River dollars did wonder in Lagos convention that year. Jet-load of dollars o. |
SamJel:I don't believe those governors just carry head like coconut for nothing. They got the message. Dem just dey fool around. Especially the Northern ones. They know the game, |
BlackDuke:And dem say bubu nor get sense o. ![]() Bubu give dem arithmetic wey nor get answer dey solve so that they cannot plot other things. ![]() They will not be able to agree anything till Bubu returns. He will just tell them his choice last minute. |
