since when did beating kids become bad, I went to a private primary school and I chop correct Cain and slaps from my teachers, when I was in secondary hmmmm it was the same, worse...... now when I look back am always happy my teachers trained me, whenever I see some my teachers now am always eager to greet them, if not for the constant strokes of Cain I could have become something else.

the wrong thing she did was to keep malice, from the OP's story, it's obvious she's the fragile, timid type. she would be easy prey for bullies sef.
There was a time the European said same. Over 100 years ago. Try it in Europe and go to jail. And the people there are not worse behaved than our own that were beaten.

Oh, I forgot. We are over 100 years behind the Europeans.

By beating then, you merely tell children that violence is the way to resolve things. Even emotional and behavioural issue. They will grow into violent people, wife beaters, employee slappers or condone violence one way or another.
Anyone who ever "smelled" child care, social work, child psychology/development or child psychiatry will know that it is not.
Career › Re: I Was Slapped By My Employer by AreaFada2: 6:29am On Sep 29, 2016
OP, your story is incomplete.

Did you beat the child? Did the child get injured? Complete that part.
If you did beat the child, then you were wrong.

Once the parent knew about it, you should have gone straight to the HM and tell her your side of the story. At least she would have heard your version.

Then you showed a bad attitude to the parent. It is not even whether you were wrong or right. The customer is simply the king. Even moreso in a private school, a competitive business. Teaching may not be your calling. Because it is a proper profession that requires proper education/training. That include people skills & techniques to deal with troublesome kids. Not just because there is no other job for now.

If parents withdraw their kids from your school, HM cannot pay bills & salaries.

As it is, if you want to keep the job, just mellow. Especially your action in the "incident" was wrong. But start looking for another job.

If your action was legally correct & you do not want the job anymore, go see a doctor to get an official certification. Then take legal action against your HM. For distress & pain inflicted on you.

Take no illegal action like getting her beaten up. It can easily become hiring killers if you are unlucky. grin cheesy

NA BUHARI MAKE OIL DROP TO $40 / BARREL? YOU ALL NEED TO START WATCHING FOREIGN NEWS AND BUSINESS STATIONS AS AGAINST THOSE UNEDUCATIVE THINGS YOU WATCH.

THIS IS A GLOBAL PROBLEM. COMPANIES ACROSS ALL SPHERES ARE DOWNSIZING.
But part of Buhari's outrageous promises was to stabilise oil price in the world market.

People like me ridiculed it from the onset though. Plenty of "Sai Baba" brigade swallowed it it hook, line & sinker.
That was his promise, boasting how he had been oil minister already in the 1970s.

Some set of people just envy him for know reason
Achievement how? Bringing a redundant old coupist to the presidency?

Awo had the means & far better sagacity to do same 57 years ago, even before independence. He knew quite well that core Northerners are not progressive, they are conservative & feudalistic. So he did not. That is called foresight. He deliberately eschewed power grab in connivance with the North.

Mmmmmh....

Seems like Ayade's sin is that he openly admires Buhari. PDP does not feel comfortable with Ayade's love for Buhari. Their fear is that he might decamp to APC. Similar thing is happening in Abia state and the same PDP is strongly supporting Ikpeazu. So where does Supreme Court Stand? Can someone answer...

Courtesy of vanguard
Maybe.

But did he declare three different ages? If so, it's illegal. We should begin respecting the rules and the law.

No unlawful society ever makes any progress.

Even Boeing, the American aircraft maker and Airbus air craft maker use engines made by Rolls Royce and General Electric (GE). Embraer, Dornier and other aircraft makers largely do same.
Many parts of your Honda, Mercedes, Toyota and others are made by other companies.
Batteries, plugs, cables, pistons and others for example.

I can't seem to put my head around this, I've seen pictures, skype and now this?

The guy can't afford a flight ticket or is he afraid he will get arrested at the airport or will it affect his visa status? I don't seem to follow!!!!

I mean if u can not show up for ur own wedding, what else? Not showing up for ur father's funeral?
Well, life is changing. Online business transaction would hv seemed insane just decades ago. Though the mannequin bit is still hilarious.

Regarding absence at parent's funeral, that is common. Renewal of residence papers can take 6 months, even over a year in some countries. If a parent dies in that time, keeping the body in mortuary for so long makes no sense. There are situations abroad that home-based cannot comprehend.

Now imagine this lady's visa is ready. Tourist/visit visa, because immigrant one can be a bit tough. But her folks say she's going nowhere until the man has done the traditional stuff. And the guy has already exhausted his annual leave for the year.
Let her visa expire and apply again when he can come home ?

We know this is not the best of times for Nigeria, but what a lot of new generation Nigerians don't know is that the Naira used to be more valuable than the dollar in those years. Those were the times when the country didn't depend much on Petroleum. The economy was so strong that our currency was being spent in other European countries, even in the UK.

We hope things are going to get back on track.

OP you can. But be realistic. You have not told us if you have a fiancee already & if she too works.

If you are prudent & even more important if your wife is prudent, you can.

Let your future wife know your income. You both sit down and consider what lifestyle your joint income can afford you and how to manage. That way, you can both decide when to start having kids & how many.

Your accommodation cost, cost of travel to work, clothing, food & utility costs would be critical in your decision.

Then comes your obligations to others like parents & siblings if applicable.

After analysing all these, you may have to be very frugal & save hard for around a year before taking the plunge. With around 350k saved & sitting in your account. Good luck!

I dont like either Tinubu, Oyegun or the Illiterate in Chief Buhari, but the truth is that what they re doing to Tinubu is wrong, this man practically gave everything to make sure the dullard won, yet they are treating him this way, they should all remeber 2019.
Well, let the bickering continue at least the Fulani herdsman, the dullard from Daura will be booted out of office, that is if hunger no kill all of us before 2019.
After his treatment of GEJ with his lies and all, conniving with Northerners, he deserves every embarrassment and more. What did he expect from Northerners? That they will appreciate him? Does he know them more than Pa Awo, who refused to be their stooge...but only with Gowon to keep Nigeria one?

Nemesis is a serious bitch. grin grin cheesy

I think Tinubu already knows that APC cannot win Edo State. So this attack on Oyegun is a pre-amble to scolding him for "not delivering his state", so as to galvanise protest against him once APC has lost Edo. Those who lost out on juicy political positions under Oyegun will quickly queue behind Tinubu. Timi frank is already in. grin grin cheesy

Rest in peace beauty.

There is nothing mysterious about deaths. For the fact that a person looks healthy, does not necessarily mean they are healthy.

Everybody carries a private medical secret, that they will never divulge to anybody,no matter what.

And if anything happens to them, people are usually astounded;especially if the person looks healthy.

How many people here do a comprehensive medical check up twice a year? HIV,BP,Herpes,Pile,Diabetes, low and high blood sugar contents,Hepatitis and Depression?

There must be a medical explanation for her death.
True. Looking healthy does not mean good health.

But you can do monthly check up and still not detect any illness.

A very health conscious relative died two years back. He did his comprehensive frequent check up in one the most advanced countries. He still suddenly died while in 9ja, some hours shy of returning to the West.
Till now, the autopsy in 9ja is inconclusive.

Another guy, a friend, died suddenly just about 20 months ago. Here in the West. Also did frequent check ups. His autopsy showed congenital heart disease. Only detectable through genetic test when an affected person is alive. But who does genetic test just anyhow? Heart & everything looked perfect even in autopsy. Until tissue cells were tested. Now his kids have been tested if affected.

kaen1317:
In Africa especially Nigeria we don't pray for our enemies. Enemies are dangerous in this part of the world. Praying for your enemy here is like praying for a venomous ill tempered snake
That is why I say that we Africans practice what is not our culture: Christianity. We are pagans in reality. So we pray like Ogun priest summoning all manner of agents, natural and dark forces to kill the enemy. Carrying Bible all about and claiming to be a prophet does not change that.

Simply, the idea of praying for your enemy as the Bible instructs doesn't sit well with Africoco, so most just ignore it.
