Before you all start all the unnecessary bashing of Nigeria, "diplomats" are 'untouchable' in every country and some of them tend to abuse this power so its not particular to only Nigeria so you all should look for another way to vent........... angry angry
Not entirely true. He cannot be sued or prosecuted but he can be expelled or his accreditation withdrawn by FG.

So he's touchable if he breaks the law. Maybe his kids/family, if any, possibly settled into life & school will be uprooted yet again.
Politics › Re: Caption This Photo Oyegun And Tinubu At Book Presentation On Buhari by AreaFada2: 9:51pm On Oct 03, 2016
In the tribalistic politics of Nigeria today, a minority person is only given a high position if someone from a larger ethnic group believes he can be used to do his bidding. They capitalise on the minority not having a large political base or a sympathetic media, controlled invariably by majority.

When the minority person does not become their total stooge, they turn against him ferociously.

Like OBJ did to GEJ and Tinubu now to Oyegun.

But at the end only selfish interest wins, Nigerians are worse off for it.

Your Hero Buhari passed a retro-active law to shoot people for crimes not punishable by death when committed in the past. Destroying economy, killing people instead of punishment as done by civilised countries have been his area of expertise since 1983. Why not tell him to do same now? Since he cannot build a nation, he should at least continue destroying it.

Of course killing critics for using their constitutional right is very normal for extremists and bigots like you who support Buhari. No surprise here. shocked shocked shocked

wake up mister.. GEJ is no hero atal
Then why is everything going hush-hush? Why not show us the evidence, recovered loot and the long prison sentence they deserve if true?

Any Kangaroo panel can find anyone guilty. Where is the evidence & verdict transcript? Or is just money changing from one looter to a new one? shocked shocked shocked

But still, by the time your people can barely feed once a day under Buhari, your eyes go clear. But of course your default setting to blame GEJ is still there, you can use it. grin cheesy

Actually very true.

While Nollywood has made some actors popular/famous and rich, it has also worsened our reputation throughout Africa.

A large percentage of Africans actually believe what they see in our films.

They believe they mirror our society closely. Even Africans living in the West believe that. I hear it firsthand often. shocked

Why is it that up till this day we still don't know the total number of girls that was taken away? You keep hearing Over 200, 276, 291 and 126.Why can't the school give us the real number of students who were in the school at the time of the kidnap? undecided
You see, the way the figures were reported then, some even saying maybe almost 400 girls, it wasn't a surprise that GEj was sceptical.

How can a headmistress not know how many girls were due to sit exam in her school?? How come the governor allowed the girls to be in that school after there were clear warnings by security agencies?

It smelled like a set-up & it still smells like it. Because Buhari/APC rode on it to get to Aso Rock. Even a prominent BBOG front woman is now chilling in an AC office as NPA boss. Only a novice, who did not know of the grand plan like Oby who is still carrying placard upandan. Meanwhile others are just peeping at her through the window and laughing. grin grin cheesy cheesy

Please, is there any biophysicist here? I urgently need an answer to this question; what is stress-induced bone regeneration?
Thank you.

Modified.
Cc: AreaFada2
Sorry, I am no biophysicist.

But check Wolff's Law and mechanotransduction.

I only know about applying it in Osteogenic loading as therapy to improve bone density.

You can also check Utah-Paradigm of Bone Physiology (Mechanostat) which is a fairly newer improvement of Julius Wollf's Law. I do not know the fine biophysical details.

Roughly putting it according to Wollf, in an otherwise healthy subject, bone will adapt to stress put on it due to loading and it will become stronger if the stress is applied over a period of time.
Mechanotransduction explains how the physical signal of mechanics/stress is transduced into biochemical signal that enters the cell signalling pathway to cause osteogenesis. Pretty much like cell signalling in Cancer molecular biology and endocrinology, though somewhat different.

Check this old link: http://www.news-medical.net/news/20100408/Scientists-discover-how-mechanical-stress-promotes-new-bone-growth.aspx

Good idea. Kudos.

But beware. Country is hard now & money hard to come by. You will see all manners of offers. Some will be questionable.

But maybe you should properly look at location. If it is ideal for now or better for the future, like 10 years away.

I wonder if a developing area is best for shopping mall, except it is along a major road.

After all, it is people who shop. The busier the area, the more rent you can charge. Same with using eatery to attract people. It has to be very visible. Of course land will also cost more in a busy area.

Before you spend 65-85m, look at it more carefully.
And that amount might increase as prices go up. Once you have already spent 85m and it needs a further 10m to finish properly, you cannot go back.

Good luck.

We are not ready yet in 9ja o.

We are not trying at all. From the top to bottom.
Does it mean Federal ministry of health does not inspect these facilities. Or because they do not know any better, they consider these as normal? shocked
UBTH used to be a first rate teaching hospital back then. With very smart mix of local and foreign staff, like Indian nurses back then.

Research done by staff there were of international standard, especially on malaria & infectious diseases, Child & maternal health, etc, some still online till today to see.
I have met elderly foreign medics abroad who still hold UBTH in very high esteem due to its reputation as a leading Nigerian teaching hospital alongside UCH, LUTH, UNTH, Zaria, etc.

cheesy grin grin grin your right we don't believe. Married men die everyday and some cases spouse die too. My grandfather died, 2 months later grandma died too. We don't have to assume she cheated, this could be your culture and believe but just like religion don't bother convincing others.
I respect your position. But those involved confessed. But too late. And they were warned that late confession won't help.

I know, my Western education (done in the West by the way) & being used to seeing death in line of job should make me think like you.

But after long years of doubting it, recent cases have made it obvious again.

As I already stated on threads over the years on NL, another person whose wife cheated got ill abroad. Doctors in one of the most advanced countries found no organic cause. Well over six months in hospital. Close to death, the wife confessed. He recovered. Just. The wife had cheated before and they (her, hubby & a few others) secretly went to do atonement. That was wrong enough already. She continued cheating after that.
Many other examples.
A wife who knows she has cheated show eschew all marital duties like cooking for hubby & sharing bed. Ask around in Edo.

I do not want to convince you o. But just stating the obvious. In case you hear it again from Edo people, do not be surprised.

Most likely satan made Eve realise that those things between their legs are not just for decoration. That there is much electric shock-pleasure to be had with them. Eve sold the idea to Adam on his return & he took it hook, line & sinker. grin grin

I think we humans are just there believing we understand the Bible. We largely don't. Much of the Bible is not literally what it seems.

Even invoking holy spirit from here to Nagasaki will hardly change it. Instead let's just live a simple life devoid of hate & acrimony, be at peace with oneself & the world around us.

It is not forgiveness, it is tolerance, no woman who doesn't believe in polygamy
will "forgive" a cheating man, what you see as forgiveness is actually a smart move
by women who totally depend on men survival or are desperate to belong to someone.

Who in their right sense will want to block their source of livelihood and happiness
just because of a "mistake" even if it happens repeatedly.
What he does not know is that if you depend on the woman economically or she houses you in her own property or otherwise plays the role of major or sole breadwinner and you go and cheat on her, you will be sleeping under the bridge sharp sharp. grin shocked cheesy

The tolerance 95% of ladies show is mostly due to the socio-economic set up our society, not just culture.
In the West where woman can legally extract money from the hubby after divorce, 9ja women are more likely to kick their hubby out if he cheats.
Even if he owns the house/flat & even brought the woman from Nigeria and gave her resident papers.
Do not even mention if she brought the guy from Africa and his stay still depends on her. That na through window she go chuck you out. grin cheesy
Romance › Re: This Nigerian Man Forgave & Took Girlfriend Back After She Cheated &got Pregnant by AreaFada2: 2:22am On Oct 02, 2016
People may not believe it but in my culture it is VERY risky.

Girls can play around as singles but once married, a complete no no.

That girl in this story might also go on and cheat as a wife. If she does and he find out, he might be too humiliated to tell your family. Because those who knew about her cheating as a gf would have opposed the marriage to begin with.

Then you will have to conceal it. And that is the grave danger in my culture. Knowing & not making your wife do atonement is basically digging your own grave.

I know our resident "popes" and Africans forming "educated or modern" here will disagree. But we just lost a distant relative two weeks back whose wife cheated. Marrying an outsider without knowleedge of our culture/tradition, or chose to ignore it, is a big problem, like this cheating wife.
Oh by the way, the said wife died less than 3 months ago. Man barely 50, the wife much younger. shocked shocked shocked
