oloriooko:He has created jobs o. Have you not heard of millions of Ojuju Calabar masquerade dressing jobs? The 500, 000 2-year N-Power NYSC part 2 jobs nko? Abeg free Oga Lai Mo. ![]() But come o, what terrible evils did 9ja & Nigerians do to deserve this punishment? ![]() |
Wesely01:That pastor defending Buhari as not corrupt was an oil executive for a French oil company in 9ja. Guess who's 9ja oil minister currently? ![]() Look, oyinbo don't put religion on their head (even if a bishop) like we Africans do. Lots of Oyinbo pastors don't even believe in God or Bible. It's a career for them. Hence all this their gayism in church, which the Bible clearly condemns. I go to their church & I know. Oyinbo is more about business. When he leaves church business in a few years, he may return to oil business. Oyinbo nor dey dull for making beneficial connections. ![]() |
mmmustapha:Point of correction. JUNIOR MINISTER. Nigerian elite hardly give good positions to intelligent people. That way they can perpetuate mediocrity. Same way Odein Ajumogobia was never made a substantive minister. They give them to "yes men " and stooges. |
eleojo23:You are very funny. Bankers are codedly saying " kosi owo". They know lots of customers don't use ATM. Goal is to generally drastically reduce cash withdrawal. Things are so expensive now and business is generally bad that cash deposits have reduced. Who never chop go put money for bank? ![]() |
mesoprogress:Dude, you're too optimistic. SW has always had very politically progressive individuals in isolation. Nothing new. Awo was the most notable progressive. But when push comes to shove, SW somehow prefers to be the North's appendage. Awo had the chance to extract true federalism from Gowon, but instead he looked on as Gowon created divisive, centralising new states. To what end? That the North would be so grateful & finally allow SW (Awo) to rule Nigeria? Especially after knowing the stand of Ahmadu Bello & other Northern leaders on Nigeria. Aburi Accord was supported by Governors of SW & Lagos. Only Governor of the North, Lt Col Hassan Katsina opposed it in Ghana. It granted regions enormous autonomy. Awo could have extracted something similar or close to avoid the war. That can't be patriotism. Letting a country head into uncertain future yoked together with conservative feudalists. |
Why women always fight the other woman, I never get it. The woman never cheated on you, the man did. Except where the other woman is a family friend, wife's relative, etc. Still, the only marriage vows were between you and your hubby. Others may have abused your trust, but they did not break any vows. Your hubby did. |
Anyhow, kiss nor be African culture. Our ancestors that stayed married for 75 years together, how many kissed? I hope she's marrying him willingly o. Otherwise, some Charlie go be her side guy. ![]() |
tuniski:Call it do it yourself (DIY) economic meltdown. What you get when sentiments and bigotry determine who you vote for. ![]() |
MoneyGreen:There is nothing nice about it. A worker deserves his pay. If allowance is legal, let him give them what he thinks is appropriate. Whether 1m or 5m. If nothing for them he should say so. But he should be prompt. This kind of dithering about everything is bad. It can actually encourage some to be corrupt. |
Aviero:Hahahahaha! Sometimes I feel like GEJ is still in Aso Rock and running the govt. Blame game disease has seriously spread since APC came to power. ![]() |
Never heard of them, never visited their sites. Oh, I remember two of them: one is Mugabe 's Boko Haram journalist, the other had punany hygiene police case with one naija music boy like that. ![]() |
These days, expecting loyalty from a woman you're married to looks increasingly like expecting a pegasus as a birthday present. ![]() Much less an ordinary girlfriend. Even if you put her on a 150k monthly pay, that guarantees no loyalty. She might even use it to house & feed another guy. Leave trash for LAWMA. |
bongolistik:lol |
ok |
Luizkid:See you. What do you know about Medicine, healthcare, let alone congenital heart conditions. If flown to UK chances are I will personally know the surgeon that will treat her. The best experts in that specialty are pretty much known in the foundation (best) paediatric centres. Do not fool yourself so publicly. |
Mcleo007:I think you suffer more from ear, nose, throat, eye & brain infection than Buhari. Is Aisha part of FG? Should health care be a charitable hand out or a right? Did you not see the word "yet" in my question? Maybe you live in a squalid environment and therefore find that environment of a child with such a serious condition normal. SMH. |
So he now needs clearance after they said he was not in UK for treatment? Cha! 9ja don suffer. Good that at least he will now be able to hear the groans of the suffering masses. |
And why has FG not flown the baby to Germany or America yet? Abi the child dey forbid treatment for London wey bubu go treat ear infection? When will our govt start putting citizens' welfare first? |
saintdennis:From the essay you put up there, that was only doing autopsy without a corpse. Failure of & highhandedness govt at the centre, orchestrated by puppet master Ahmadu Bello caused culminated set the conditions that eventually caused the war. How many states needed to be created for about 60-70 million people of that time? As you mentioned, creation of states was to divide Biafra region. But did that division later get us anywhere? No, it did not. With more states now, we just have high recurrent expenditures, many governors state civil services, aids, houses of assemblies. Just an endless pit to gulp money. Even many states are lamenting they cannot pay workers. As for regional orientation of political parties, remember amalgamated Nigeria pre-1960 lated from 1914 to 1960, only 46 years. A time most people never left their villages or have TV to see other places. So the kind of stuff to create national unity were absent. Remember that the North wanted to delay independence. Awo & Zik should have just cut the South out for independence as the North dithered. With many states now, are we not still ask to go our states of origins (SoR) to contest for elected offices, appointed to positions based on SoR , admitted to schools based on it? How has that brought unity. More division if you ask me. Earlier in diaspora, an Asaba, Agbor, Warri, Ughelli person saw Edo people as a brother. I had many Delta people referred to me based on being"Bendel" people. It changed after Bendel was split. |
Wyttcat:Hahahahahaha! Wake up from your dream. Your revisionism is dead on arrival. Anyway, why argue with a tormented soul, a Walter Mitty ? ![]() No amount of shouting or insults can change history. It only shows a ghetto person seeking attention on an anonymous platform. |
saintdennis:First ask yourself why Mid-West was created out of South-West region. Midwest people voted overwhelming to go their own way. Led by Oba Akenzua II, Denis Osadebey and other leaders. It was the only legally & democratically created region/ State. Others were by colonial force or by military dictators. Edo's future can never be with SW or Fulani,or ND or SE. If you're from Edo North and you feel religious ties with Northern & nearly half of SW people, then I see your perspective. The only correct legal option is Bendel Republic if Nigeria breaks up. Because our fathers/mothers voted for MW/later called Bendel. We can form a confederation with another region if we wish. The civil war was not caused by regionalism but by powerplay between majority tribes. It began with a North-SW fight. The North encouraged Akintola to scatter Awo's Action Group. Not done, they imposed State of emergency in SW, framed up Awolowo for coup treason and sent him to gulag. They feared Awo's smartness. Totally appalled, young military officers, mostly Igbo & Midwest Igbo overthrew Northern-led government. Killing Balewa, Bello etc that orchestrated chaos in SW that was affecting Nigeria's stability. Bello was particularly disdainful of Southerners generally. Balewa was his boy. Check video on youtube of Ahmadu Bello openly telling a British journalist that Southerners should not work in the Northern services freely. Because coup leaders were mostly Igbo & Ironsi perceived to be lenient with them, Northerners began to massacre Igbo people in the North. Fearing for safety, they were rushing to the East. Ojukwu & Gowon agreed conditions to avoid war in Aburi Ghana (Aburi Accord). When Gowon later reneged on them, war broke out. |
4stylz:Nor mind the goon. I tend to comment on Edo/Yoruba topics because of reasonable people who read it. Edo was exporting fine clothes 500 years ago. Along the Atlantic coast. When Queen Nzinga of Ngola (now called Angola), the queen also called Ana de Sousa Nzinga Mbande died on December 17th 1663, when she was being buried, fine expensive clothes made in Benin were among the precious goods like gold, silver and others buried with her. The same Portuguese who bought the clothes in Benin Empire reported it in their reports in Angola. Let ignorant people be showing their ignorance publicly. As for Yoruba names, Benin succeeded in ruling large non-Benin speaking colonies despite average Benin population size by doing like the Romans did. They only installed princes & nobles to rule colonies BUT respect and even assimilate local customs there. As long as they report to the Oba & pay tribute. Like Benin rulers of new provinces, Roman rulers routinely became hellenised (in Greece), Asiatic in Asia, Germanised in Germania & Belgica, gallic in Gaul/France, Britannic in Britannia etc And adopted foreign gods, norms & customs too. That respect for local culture more easily put suspicious new lands at ease. To be re-assured that the new bosses have not come to turn everything upside down. Eastern Yorubaland was part of Benin Empire and Otun in Northern Ekiti was set as boundary between Oyo Empire & Benin Empire. Ado-Akure (Edo n'Ekue) people from that imperial time are still found in Utese, Ogbese, Usen, Egbeta, Iguogho, Olumoye and other communities in Ovia LGAs. Many still speak Yoruba dialects very close to Olukumi. Of course some also bear Yoruba names. As the core of an Empire that had many languages in the provinces, nothing unusual. To the east, Edo still has some Ika/Igbanke people left from Eastern reach of the empire. |
I guess you constructed the question in a funny way. A woman keen on having a meaningful/happy marriage but GENUINELY hates sex needs first to seek therapy. Whether medical or psychological. Vaginismus, deep dyspareunia, molestation etc are common organic/medical reasons, but underlying psychological aspects are probably more difficult to resolve. Otherwise she's going to "one chance" a poor guy. Many such girls form "no sex before marriage" to conceal her unhealthy sexuality. Then surprises the the new hubby with abysmal sex. So guys should watch out. If you're going to stand by a lady to solve her sexuality issues in marriage, better be aware of it before wedding. If not you could end up cheating (and divorce) and the whole world would as usual blame the man for it. |
Shym3xx:Again your history knowledge is flawed. So you have no knowledge of Benin-Ijebu war? Or that both Awujale and Owa of Owo came Oba of Benin's souzerainty? Wow! As for Owo, don't even go there because it's part of my history. What historians agree on, even objective Yoruba ones is that Owo retained much autonomy after it was conquered. It amazes me how much Yoruba like to quickly dismiss any of it's domains were conquered. Remember that the only major respected military power in Yorubaland then was Oyo Empire. Others were divided and in frequent internecine wars. Aside notably Ibadans and Ijebu helping Oyo defeat and repel the Jahadists. They knew they would be overrun once Oyo was taken. Self defence I would say. Even then Benin went to war with Oyo to defend Ekiti against Oyo. Benin and Oyo eventually set their boundary of sphere of influence at Otun, today in Northern Ekiti. My relatives living in Emure-Ekiti and around there are not ignorant of it. Go to Owo and observe how the monarchy and attires are organised. The Benin influence is very evident. As for naming after Bight of Benin, you have no evidence of that as the reason. Ghana chose Ghana to replace Gold Coast for same reason copied by Benin Republic. Anyway, Benin signed away its rights over territories outside core Benin speaking areas in 1914, as condition to restore the monarchy and has no interest in them now. But provocative revisionist utterances cannot be tolerated. Yoruba teaching of history is very much towards supremacy. Very sad for an educated tribe. They ought to know that simple truth is far better. |
oyatz:Let's start from there. GEJ was not part of Confab. So that was what delegates wanted. If we began so in 1980, we might have a better federal system now. You can blame GEJ for so much. Just common sense. So close to election, the whole thing would have been politicised. |
Shym3xx:Shymex, do you deny that Oba Akintoye told the British that Oba of Benin confirms who should be Eleko of Eko in 1853? Do you deny that Benin conquered the Aworis before Ashipa, a Benin prince became first Eleko of Eko? Do you also disagree that Benin sacked Akure in 1833? I have Ga people from Osu area of Accra as inlaws and friends. All are quite aware that they came from Benin originally. How did they get there? Do you know that Late president Eyadema traced his origins to Edo? Do you know why Mathieu Kerekou sought permission of Oba of Benin to adopt the name Benin as new name of Dahomey in the 1970s? Did you ask why he did not choose Oyo, Egba, Ife, Ijebu, Kano, kanem Borno, Sokoto, etc that are very famous kingdoms/emirates? We are all educated. Let's put tribalism aside and look at things dispassionately. Objectively. The truth after all will make all of us wiser. Not that there are $billions at stake in losing the argument? ![]() |
Wyttcat:Hahahahaha! You seem very ignorant of history. Another Yoruba man thinking a large ethnic group means historical supremacy. Who said all Itsekiri are Edo? Do you know the history of Itsekhiri monarchy or you just talk for nothing? In fact your knowledge of history is abysmal. Itsekiri are a mix of aboriginal people, plus much Ijebu, a little Owo & Benin elite (Olu & Benin nobility that accompanied him to his new costal domain). No genuine member of Itsekiri royal family ever denied they are descendants of Prince Ginuwa, the son of Oba Olua of Benin. Let me and you go to Ode Itsekhiri and ask. I challenge you. The title Oba Olua gave to his son was Ogiame, meaning Lord of the Seas/gods/goddesses. A position that necessitated an oath to Olokun (river goddess). Being sent as a duke over the coast on Bight of Benin. Check what happened in Warri what happened when last Olu of Warri tried to remove Ogiame title from his name in 2013. He was asked to leave throne, for trying to dump the title they brought from Benin and he quickly abandoned the plan. Google it. Again you don't know Benin language. Omo n'Oba is not same as Omo Oba (Yoruba). Ask what you don't know. Omo Oba equals Ovbioba or Okoro in Benin language. The title Oba was used in Benin way before Oranmiyan. It was used as Oba-godo of Igodomigodo as title by Ogisos pre-Ododuwa. Half of my people in my village in Edo speak a language 80% similar to Olukumi. Olukumi, like a dialect spoken in my village is from Owo Yoruba. Like Olukumi, they were immigrants from Eastern Yorubaland in imperial times. Sometimes now called Ado-Akure (Edo n'Ekue in Benin). Diaspora Ado-Akure litter Ondo & Ekiti states today. We are very conscious of our history. Both the Yoruba & Benin side. As for language & conquest, Benin did not have the population to populate colonies or spread the language. Benin even used paid mercenaries (like Romans & others did too) to prosecute imperial wars. These were recorded by Europeans who accompanied Oba Esigie & Ozolua to conquest wars Eastern Yoruba land. And there was no written language. Instead princes were sent to rule over them according to local culture. Please read history widely before you display ignorance in a public forum. Trying to use ogboju to twist history won't work. Yoruba write their history, Benin write theirs. But Benin history makes more sense, even scientifically, because I cannot imagine Ododuwa coming from Arabia or Sudan or Yemen or wherever. With what, a dragon or a phoenix? Or even using chain to climb down from heaven. ![]() He travelled only about 140 miles from Benin to Ife, entering from the East to become Ododuwa. Who is father of most Yoruba rulers. That is the only thing settled. Tell your fairy-tale story to your 4 years old niece, she won't even believe you. ![]() |
henrykelek:You know we Africans seem to pander to outsiders & seek their acceptance badly. Not minding very many dying of poverty at home. Serious countries always put improving purchasing power of citizens, reduce inflation, encourage private sector to create jobs and keep people optimistic. But our own, speaking "phonair" to impress foreigners is now an achievement. SMH. Foreigners are not stupid. They only invest in 9ja if the profit to be had is way higher than they can get elsewhere. They follow IMF, world bank and other forecast on our economy. |
SuperS1Panther:You mean during Eken/Eke day of the week? Nobody should complain if Ogunjobi wears snail shell around his neck, rub white chalk on half of his face and wear a skirt made of yellow palm fronds. After all not only Abrahamic religions exist. ![]() |
but has someone blamed Jonathan for bringing his brothers from Libya? ![]() Or have you not heard that Otuoke hood is near Libya? ![]() |
The thing dey tire person o. Law enforcement applicant falsifying documents to gain employment. Just imagine how many detainee statements they will falsify to incriminate innocent people. This country needs serious deliverance. |
Vickyydera:Well, not about tickle or hurt. In Benin where she's from, a Queen even uses a white handkerchief to cover her lips. We have our own culture, don't use it to compare "Princess Diana" or other foreign queens or princesses you see on tv or magazines. ![]() |
