Diademk07:Hahahahaha! After reading this, I give up! No need. |
Diademk07:Chai, Benin's historical influence pains many people o. You know a jealous person will try put you down, like a bully. ![]() Benin Empire is known to educated people. Your ignorance doesn't make it less true. A freed slave, Olaudah Equiano wrote in the 17th century in London " I'm Ibo by tribe and a citizen of Benin Kingdom". In his Autobiography. I can bet my last penny you don't read such books that might contain any truth. Benin territory in Eastern Yorubaland is well known. I still have relatives there. But hey, Benin has moved on. We all suffer 9ja problems together today. @Diadem, I have many of your ilk sparing with me here, even 50 of you cannot impress me. Each of you coming with different versions of Oduwa, many say Arabic, Jewish, now u say Egyptian. Maybe North Korean or American Indian next time. Keep trying. ![]() |
Diademk07:This attack happened in which century? Then he passed all the big cities in East Africa and flew with Heli-Odua aircraft to Ife, bah? Dude, get a grip. Copying and pasting conjectures from various ethno-centrists impresses nobody. ![]() |
Diademk07:Year right, flying with a broom from Egypt. I can see why ACN/APC use broom as a symbol. ![]() |
Diademk07:Oh, Ododuwa is no more Arabic but Egyptian. You prefer your Egyptian bastard instead of local one? Hahahaha. First, you lack historical perspective of Egypt & Ododuwa. Do you even know Egyptian Kingdoms & dynasties? Which King started what dynasty? And when? I know you don't. No, don't go googling it up because anybody can write any rubbish online. ![]() Ododuwa lived in the 12th century AD. That was during Abbasid era. Long long after Egyptian Pharaonic dynasty ended. Even the foreign Greek/Macedonian one ended in 30BC. Actual indigenous dynasty ended 300 years earlier. By 12th century, all vestiges of Pharaoh dynasty had been lost. How did Ododuwa now come into a small village (Ife) mythically from Egypt under Abbasid Muslim Caliphs with Pharaonic pomp & regalia? Over 12 centuries later? Pride is a very funny thing. It prevents people from re-examining themselves. They put pride over probity. Your pride of being Egyptian founded on inferiority complex is pathetic. ![]() |
Diademk07:If all these conjecture are your evidence, then you simple know nothing about scientific rigor or scrutiny. Ancient history, re-enacted at ceremonies, and passed on in songs and stories as a fabric of our culture are far more reliable. Unless you have radio-carbon dated specimens linking Ododuwa to Arabia, forget it. |
Diademk07:So attire are your evidence, hahahahahaha! These are no evidence whatsoever. We developed our cultures right here. That royal insignia happen to bear some resemblance is no evidence whatsoever. Ododuwa was said to come from Arabia. All these cultures you mentioned were not Arabic. How does antiquity Egypt suddenly turn Arabic? Egypt was not Arabic until 7th century. |
Diademk07:My brother, I believed those Egypt theories long ago, not anymore. What makes it impossible for Egyptians to have migrated from Emure-Ekiti, Afikpo or Gboko? All these Jews & Egypt story somehow re-enforces our inferiority complex. That any high culture, sophistication, complex government or society couldn't have been developed by we Africans ourselves, right where we are now. That somehow, people brought mythology & others from some distant lands. No shred of logic in it. |
nusirat:At least the Naira has never needed so much help, never sold £1 = N425! Unusual Naira decline necessitates unusual ways to prop it up, like stronger campaign to buy locally made. |
billante:You don't want Morufu, omale jati jati, to sell your property. Buyers beware, property not for sale! ![]() |
Myde4naija: That shows your historical shallowness. The first Ogiso of Igodomigodo (old name of Edo/Benin) was Oba-godo, by about 40BC. Among other titles. There is also poor education system in 9ja that gives very shallow education. Hence the comments some make here lack depth & analysis. Benin, Yoruba, Igbo, Fon, Ewe, etc are East Kwa/Volta-Benue branch of Niger-Congo language family. Simple philology. No, I'm no philologist or classicist or linguist per se. In a place with quality education, amidst dissecting bodies, clinics etc, I had enough motivation gain an arts qualification alongside: philosophy, ethics, theology, languages and others covered. Oba in Edo & Yoruba, and Obi in Igbo is co-incidence. Though in the distant past, Niger-Congo languages come from a proto language with certain words preserved. Amen in all three languages are similar too: Ise, ase, ise! |
Diademk07:Ok, show us your evidence. Your selfie with Lamidi abi na Lamudu, father of Oduduwa. ![]() Some people cannot see beyond their nose because of tribalism. ![]() |
ricki:Please enlighten us on how you managed it. With pics if possible. My experience with people handling on my behalf is quite different. Way more expensive. |
Ecoterrorism:Please don't use your own standards to judge those in the North. Most have a different orientation. Worldly progress is far inferior to religious zeal to them. The elite there educate their kids in the best schools home and abroad. That way, they can keep ruling. The only problem is that they ought to be on their own and develop at their own pace. If not as a different country, then certainly as a region with sweeping autonomy (that other regions should have too). That way, people can develop at a pace that suits them. |
frisky2good:I was gonna say that. Showbiz is very fickle. A good counsellor, strong family support and keeping her feet firmly on the ground are crucial right now. I hope nobody around her would see her as cash cow and start relying/taxing her unnecessarily. I wish her the best of luck. She utterly deserves it. |
suwalee:Help me ask am my dear. ![]() |
BABYLUVLY:Sadly, girls are mostly confusion personified. ![]() |
4nobody4every1:Sadly, you're right Sir. Problem with some people is that no matter how much you help, they are never satisfied. They think you have a lot more to throw away. If they think harming you is their only chance to escape poverty, they will do it. Most kidnappings are planned by family members, friends, driver, housemaid, etc. Imagine people kidnapping their own mother to extort money from relatives/brothers/sisters abroad. Funnily sad. |
Jarus:Who will save Buhari from the way he is managing the economy? If care is not taken, poverty will kill more people than Boko Haram. ![]() |
Na wa o. What level can some people degenerate to? |
lol |
ckmayoca:Most likely they didn't complete or even do the marriage. If they did, he would have mentioned it. Millions of couple that go by the title "husband & wife" are not actually married. People who cannot even pay house rent are very unlikely to afford the expensive marriage ceremony that the family now insist on even in death. |
Pics will be ur best advert. |
justmenoni: |
Nor be only mansion, na a whole Amen Estate you go get. Plus a bevvy of countless unclad babes of various shapes, genuine hair, sizes and non-Alao-Akalalised complexion. ![]() People really have an ephemeral view of heaven. Others say na teenage virgins dey wait for them there. Earthlings are really a weird lot. ![]() |
justmenoni:That is it. That would be something indigenous. Along side English as official language. By now, Europeans would be coming to learn pidgin in 9ja. A country of 200 million is no joke. Even great-grand mothers in the village speak pidgin. Many teachers struggle communicating their subject/knowledge in English, native language or pidgin would be more comfortable for them. There is no developed or rapidly developing country in the would today that doesn't have an indigenous language as official language. Be it Japan, Germany, UK, France, USA, China, S. Korea, Sweden, etc. It is no coincidence. ![]() |
Saladin25:It would be nice if all English people really knew English language as you said. I have been left scratching my head reading the gbagaun-loaded English written by some monolingual British born & bred people. Even with my "cut & nail" English, I shudder. One day I got an official letter from the academic office of an elite UK university. I was in shock to see that literally every line was screaming with gbagaun. Abeg leave matter from Matthias. ![]() |
Yep. |
Topeakintola:Well, the idea of senate/senators was to get elderly experienced gentlemen to help rule the Kingdom, later republic, later still empire of Rome. Senator comes from the word senex or elderly man/old man in Latin. Exactly people of Bruce's age were meant for it, due to experience. We cannot say we're copying American one without understanding how it came about. I guess copying what we don't know or understand is part of our problem. Maybe we should device our own things that we understand. |
Hope she's fine & gets well soon. |
darenyx:Nice |
I always wonder, is there any oyinbo thing that we will not embrace? Some women now take this val as a milking opportunity. Any guy or man who objects on principle is seen as broke, stingy or both. Was it not last year Val day in Lagos that one woman killed her husband for returning home late & couldn't take her out to a restaurant or something? Na wa o. |
