Truckpusher:who told you they ever saw Boko haram as a bad thing? Have you forgotten "fighting boko is fighting the North" position of northern elite including Buhari? The bombing in the South will be a pound of flesh for GEJ daring to bomb boko. All these travels to Chad na show. Amnesty arrangements for boko is going on. |
Goddex:Of course, in a country of sanctimonious pretenders, the president n C-in-C should also be Pretender-in-Chief. Na normal thing. |
justi4jesu:. Hahahaha haha. Reasonable Forming 101 to 505. Na full course o. You must be thinking " all these guys sef, can a babe ever get anything right?". Nor worry dear, middle ground tends to work often. How DB na? J'espere qu'elle est magnique! I keep postponing breezing over to visit. ![]() |
justi4jesu:Justie dear, reasonable forming. Some overdo it. And lose out often. If she wasn't a celeb, the guy might never have seen her again |
Caseless:Don't mind him. You know how APC are always angry and specialise in personal insults. Being in power won't stop that. I posted that stuff of busy night shift. With our professor popping into the ward at anytime. Even oyinbo wey get their English, I still spot errors in the notes they write up everyday. Doesn't stop some getting Nobel Prize nomination or getting honours from the Queen. |
handie:. Hahahaha. So in ur entire life, you have never made any error spelling anything. Only in 9ja do people take basic errors as a big deal. Sorry, i'm not waiting for any leader to do anything. 30 years ago, Buhari nearly condemned the family to economic difficulty through civil service sacking. Luckily was just completing his doctorate and managed to securing university lecturing job as the dictator was kicked out. Hahaha. |
Mamaflex:. In places where ethics has a meaning, an umpire in recent poll would never even contemplate an appointment from the polls winner, outside the current job. Anything goes in 9ja. No wonder we're getting nowhere. |
winnieberry:The world of today seems designed for those who talk anyhow, spread ignorance without batting an eye and can gossip about almost anybody & anything. All those destructive small talk and politics, especially in the office. If you're the quiet type, people cannot read you or understand you easily. And some people are uncomfortable with that. People like to weigh you up easily and shove you in a cupboard. With introverts, people cannot do so easily. But just enjoy their anxiety and speculations. Of course it's good to have some quality friends. Sadly people seem to cherish having many "friends" and think that's popularity. When in fact so-called friends are "Come-And-Chop" or fair weather mates. To me, it seems like such "popular" people need approval from many people and cannot be on their own. Focus on your dreams, do your own thing, cherish the quality friends you have and enjoy your life. ![]() |
handie:And GEJ's "failure" (due mostly to unpatriotic propagandist, fifth columnists, bad belle & Boko sponsors) was just GEJ's failure only, bah? Wow! I wish people knew/admitted that supporting GEJ to at least complete his time in office was in 9ja's interest. APC are having a taste of the many distractions, betrayals and intrigues that come with power. Maybe after their regime, they will make a better, contructive opposition in the future. |
You mean the same Principal that only she "waka come" see our dear Dame Peypey? Chai, diaris really God o! ![]() Things dey happen for this our zoo of a nation. Even a zoologist had difficulties managing it. ![]() Let's see how well a cattle herder will do. ![]() |
The Czeckoslovakia scenario would actually be best, if things don't improve. This forceful marriage seems very uncertain. A proper federal system would address many things BUT the beneficiaries (from all tribes/zones) seem to have no appetite to change status quo. NOW, many younger Igbo generations are suddenly yearning for Biafra, the same generations that have travelled wide, intermarried, lived, schooled, done NYSC and worked outside the SE. One major reason is that the Civil/Biafra war seems a taboo. There is no national discourse about it. So various narratives have arisen, your preference depends on where your sympathies lie. We see how arguably young and educated people here on NL taunt each other with Biafra & Ojukwu stories & jokes. We're still very far away from reconciliation. I doubt if silence is the best way forward. |
Mexense:. In 9ja, PR seems underdeveloped. A seasoned journalist imbued with impartiality (very few in 9ja by the way) are hardly the best in this kind of job. PR professionals are far better spin doctors, who can read the mood of a nation at critical times and expertly diseminate information timely. But since 1999, presidential spokesmen have been more of attack dogs. Most in the zeal to impress, didn't know when to keep quiet or when to avoid mudslinging. |

Olaone1:. Lol. |
SUBMARINE:. Hahaha. If you enlisted in civil service even just after GMB was already overthrown, you may now have to go. I told them how GMB sacked civil servants then, including relatives, they didn't want to hear. They said he would create jobs. Lol. GMB wants to continue sacking where he stopped last time. Hahaha. |
Teempakguy:I think science is too factual. It's empirical, based on evidence and requires a certain intellectual depth. It tasks the mind a lot more. It is also not as interesting or entertaining like calling GEJ names and making wild speculations. Many scientists may not even be registered here, but read some stuff and leave. Our economic system is not encouraging too. If engineers, biochemists, pharmacists, mathematicians have to look for banking jobs anyway, why bother? The binary system used in computing today has long been used by Ifa priests for divination, for millennia, some of the oldest wooden mathematical instruments possibly used in calculating the calendar, menstrual cycle or both, were discovered in central Africa. The ancient pyramid builders of Nubia, mostly likely the origins of the Luxor/Giza pyramids definitely used mathematical knowledge in doing so. |
Google. But didn't register for years. Only took Nairaland seriously after Seun got rid of Nairalist. Despite many posts on NL asking why, Seun has kept a deafening silence. #BringBackOurNAIRALIST. Since Seun won't tell us what happened to Nairalist, maybe he cashed in to allow competitors take the space. Hope it's not anti-competition things o. When you don't get explanation, speculations follow. ![]() |
Lord of mercy. |

Na wa o. Raising kids in diaspora is not easy. The absence of family/social support system is a big issue. Trying to be strict on kids in a permissive environment is tricky. |

Something has gone wrong seriously. We're caught between tradition & western system that we don't actually know how to run properly. Double wahala. Neither traditional authority nor state authorities seem to be in control. A state of flux. Things Fall Apart come to mind. |
Pavore9:Fact is Nigerians are superstitious people. Pagans by nature even. Lots of people still believe in ghosts, witches, wizards, enemies etc. That is why churches are everywhere in 9ja. Cashing in on superstition. Most people go to church to get wealth/breakthrough, kill enemy, etc. Others go to shrines. Many hover in between. |
Shymm3x:. Sure they'd still have massive advantage. Are you saying we would have no ability to make gunpowder? Gunpowder was invented by the Chinese by the way. At that point in history (1890s), the Chinese, even Japanese were still considered rather primitive by the West. You forget that those "hunting guns" helped Benin win many wars and expand the kingdom. Raw materials were a challenge but skilful people hat kept improving their techniques was never a challenge. |
Shymm3x:What if we had our own home made cannons that we could produce in large numbers? So that before they deploy more from UK and other colonies, they are annihilated. Remember Haiti won the War against France, possibly the dominant military power beside Britain then. Guns were being made locally in Benin, copying European ones. Many Kingdoms with excellent metal workers like Benin, Ife, Oyo, Owo, were more than capable of replicating cannons, if they had one to copy. Remember, it's about UK losing too many troops and military resources to stir discontent in parliament. That leads to abandonment of certain missions, at least temporarily, and that could have been overtaken by World War 1 events. |
geesampower:. No military power, no power. Simple. We saw that in Benin Empire. The last main barrier to amalgamation. Months of guerilla war with the British was not enough to stop the British. With that defeat, colonisation was complete. Imagine we had a more advanced military, linking up with Oyo empire and Opobo, Owo and other organised kingdoms/chiefdoms in the South to resist. History might be different today. |
ok |
Truckpusher:. You know how these countries like to hang around you when they think you're mumu. They want to cheat you before your eyes open in office. Since 30 years out of govt, he might be a bit rusty. Such as believing that Anfela Michelle is President & C-in-C of Western Germany. ![]() |
