So where is the image of the chair worshippers? All these Catholic bashing is really old. Suffice it to say, before I step one toe in a chair worshipping, pastor worshiping Pentecostal church, I'd become agnostic. One look at christianity and 'christians' ( read: pentecostal) in Nigeria is enough to turn one off. I'd rather remain Catholic, thank you very much. The more traditionally Roman Catholic, the better for me. |
I don't know when some men will get some sense. Especially politicians. A Facebook friend is still a stranger. Therefore the young man was consorting with a strange woman he had just met. In this our nigeria of today! She may have gone willingly. She could very well have been a plant to lead him on, tease him and say "no" at the last minute, knowing he would be too far gone to stop and will try to force her. At this point penetration will be forceful and will leave cuts and bruises on her skin. This is evidence. No one can tell what really happened except both of them. But I'm not buying the reasons for her visit and the fact that she went to his house. She wasn't forced there. But if she says no, then no is no. Even if she's naked. Unfair, but there you are. I have a name for girls like this and it's not very nice. I have a name for men like that as well. What do you gain from such risky behaviour, carrying a strange woman to your house? What if she had brought out a knife. Or had some hoodlums waiting to do him in? Doesn't he have a girlfriend or a wife? Whether it is blackmail for politics or for whatever reasons or she just said no because she felt like, it serves him right and I hope he's learnt a lesson. But I won't hold my breath. |
Blue3k2:Thank you. You obviously know cross river well. This clueless governor comes with his self-serving 'projects' and people outside the state buy it and think he is progressive. He has taken us back 16 years. What we see are shady 'projects' with empty buildings, the ownership of these companies, are murky and shrouded in controversy like the so-called garment factory. Mr governor wants to cut down millions of trees, in the process destroying millions of acres of rainforest and endangered species. Cross river' s rainforests is one of the richest in biodiversity in Africa. Oh, and did I mention the governor's family is heavily into the logging business? A logger's paradise that 'conservation people' and 'bloody villagers' will not let them chop down. A super highway. How convenient. |
djmask:I guess the bees told him "we were sent by the native doctor because you stole the woofer. Oya enter your room and carry the stolen item make we dey go native doctor house." Yeah, right. And people wonder why we can't progress. We can't think deep, preferring to look on the surface. We can't think for ourselves preferring to rely on that which is customary or told to us. And questioning? That is anathema in our society, usually ascribed to insolence, "over sabi", disrespect for elders and "demonic and satanic influence". |
So, the blue blood will be diluted with 'black blood' when the kids come. Thoroughly radical choice. But good choice. Well done Harry. I bet some brits aren't pleased, though |
Nigerians sha! Why are you people huffing and puffing and raining abuse (the abuse is totally uncalled for) like there is no tomorrow? Are you all just realising that she has a sugar Daddy? Or did you never wonder about her luxurious lifestyle and how she could afford it with her virtually non-existent job (I've never heard her on the radio). Ms. Makinwa is just a social climbing parvenu like so many of her ilk. And you don't climb that ladder and acquire all the accoutrements that go with it (supper exclusive shoes and bags, posh apartment, flashy car and expensive holidays) from loving on some cute young stud whose pockets are as lean as his shoulders are broad! So I don't know why y'all are suprised. She seems like a deeply unhappy person trying to fit in and fill the emptiness with possessions. She doesn't seem to realise she's ruining herself, her health and reputation. I guess Maje has moved on and is happy. What an irony. While i think its nobody's beeswax what 2 consenting adults do, except you're a family member, she made it our business when she dragged the whole country into her private life with her self-serving book. Maje may or may not have done her wrong but the idea of the book was tacky. |
I don't understand what is wrong with Nigerians. She would be extreme stupid to agree to a non-disclosure for writing a song when it is that very knowledge that will bring her more work. You people think it's a hobby? In the creative world it is your portfolio of work that you use to get other jobs. The more people know you as a song writer, and can identify your body of work, the more work you get. I'm not suprised at the comments. Lyrics have never been a strong component of recent Nigerian music so songwriters are not appreciated or acknowledged. Not even by the artists. My dear, claim your work, paid or not. Only callous Nigerians will expect to use someone's talent and expect her not to grow or progress in that field because the artiste paid her. Should it have been for free? |
OldBeer:Don't mind them. Always looking for the idiot wife to pick up the pieces of their bad decisions. This poor girl left in fear of life and limb. The new wife was a terror! The night he died, they'd had a violent fight over some communication with other women. In the fight she bit his finger!!!! That one na person?! His friend who was present called his Uncle and her cousin, I think, who came and tried to settle the matter. The guy then left with his friend to the pharmacy to treat his finger. After he went back home to sleep, the devilish girl stabbed him to death. Everyone warned him. If you must bring in a second wife, why not chose someone who will not create such an upheaval in your home? At this point, the man should have considered the safety and wellbeing of his wife and children he already had at home, instead of bringing a serpent into the garden simply because of his carnal needs. She fought everyone! So the first wife should stay so one night, the she-wolf will sneak into her room and slit her throat? Or stab her child in a jealous rage? It's not far fetched, as recent events have borne out. We've even heard similar stories here in this forum. Please do not expect a woman that you consider your fidelity and respect too much to bestow upon, to put herself and her children in danger in a bid to protect a marriage that you yourself do not value. He made his bed. |
That is NOT the governor's office |
emeijeh:Who is the 'all' that know the answer? Ask yourself, will the average Nigerian man agree to do this kind of wedding? Or will he be worried and ashamed that his colleagues, friends, family, in-laws and enemies sef, will think he is 'poor, cheap, never-make-am' and all that crap? I am sick of the way you guys especially in Nairaland keep dumping on Nigerian women when you're no better. Humans can never be a homogenous group, because we have different characters, habits, likes and dislikes and all other things that help to shape us into the people we become. If you guys really detest Nigerian girls, that's your call. You have a right to your choice. Look for a foreigner and marry since y'all are perfect, foreign women are perfect and we are beneath you. But the next time any foreigner calls all Nigerian men violent, scammers, thieves, promiscuous, irresponsible, liars and bad marriage material, like they have recently been doing (a lot), please don't expect your countrywomen to support you since we're so bad! ("hoes ain't loyal, right"?) Ok rant over. Thanks for listening. |
petemail2all:Thanks. It's Sis I would really appreciate some advice, guys. |
Great thread. I've been planning to study in Canada with a view to settling there. My problem is I don't think my kids will be given a visa with me (I have 2 boys, 11 and 12). The whole Canada ish is too stressful so I've decided to apply to European schools as a viable plan b. The truth is I actually prefer a European education for myself and my boys. I like the idea of Germany because of its strong economy. I don't mind the language issue as I plan to learn german immediately although my studies will be in English. My kids are currently learning german and French in school so I think they'll be fine. I am looking at doing a Bachelors degree which is 3 years, giving me enough time to acquire a permanent stay. So my questions are: Is this a good plan? I am widowed so I will be alone with my kids. I have some money so I should be reasonably comfortable until I find some work. What towns do I need to avoid? Any advise would be much appreciated. |
The Nigerian girl is really beautiful with a gorgeous smile. But I've noticed that recently black women are wearing so much makeup. We look much better with less that half of what we put on our faces. Case in point, these contestants. The girl from Ghana has striking features that have been totally covered by the heavy make up. And what's with this new fad of heavily painted on eyebrows? It used to be more subtle. |
The notorious Hope Solo. Never could stand her |
I don't know why violence is glorified in this country. Why must everything be responded to violence? All these sanctimonious 'disciplined' and 'decent' people in this same country where we are identified the world over as cheats, criminals and scammers? Where corruption, ritual killing and kidnapping reign supreme? Where fraud is now termed being smart. Maybe there're spirits doing all these. We're so quick to point fingers and cannot even empathise. |
Blackfyre:Don't mind them. Nigerians must sexualize everything. Different strokes for different folks. If it's not your cuppa then it's not. |
Bolustical:You forgot the girl, named Eunice after Jonathan's mother. Nigerians are so funny. It is the poor children I feel sorry for. I understand Obua didn't have much goodwill and a lot of people resented him. May or may not be true but it just goes to show that a good name is worth it's weight in gold. Sounds old fashioned but it's true. If he had touched somebody's life positively, then someone somewhere will not let these children suffer. |
oyeludef:Oga please be quiet before you disgrace yourself and others further. It's really nauseating seeing how Pentecostals are always quick to defend the indefensible so far it is committed by them. Yet they're the most uncharitable and judgemental christians. What the hell is object of faith? A pastor's chair is an object of faith? Do you even know how you sound? Don't use that 'spirit of antichrist', 'you are possessed' crap that you people use to cow others into swallowing your hogwash, out of fear. I suggest y'all take a good long look at yourselves before you start feeling as self-righteous as you do. Because from where I'm standing, it ain't pretty. |
Firefly2017:Thank you one million times. The guy is striking. Could easily model. |
The news sources say he was a bible teacher. In any case how has atheism been linked with the shooting? Or haven't 'bible-believing' christians comitted thoroughly henious crimes? Try to be objective please. Instead of pointing fingers and rushing to conjecture, only to end up with egg on your faces. It is believed that he had a row with his ex-wife and her mother, who were members of the church. No one knows for sure if they were the target but they were not in church that morning. |
See claiming! The poor man would be turning in his grave at being compared to Nnamdi Kanu. |
EponOjuku:Don't mind them. All these clowns wanking off over the orange man and his fake hair. She half wit put a doctored picture of Michelle with a bump in her crotch and he thinks he's being funny. It beats me how any sane person could support this incompetent hate-monger who is so base he has even made veiled sexual references about his own daughter. Compare them to the Obamas? That's a sick joke. If there was any little smidgeon of dirt, the racist rednecks, hypocritical bible thumpers and bigoted republicans would have found it long ago. As it is they just had to resort to childish schoolyard abuse. Sometimes I feel sorry for Melania, getting bashed at every turn. But on the other hand, let her experience a tiny bit of what Michelle had to put up with everyday. At least they aren't calling her whole family monkeys. |
Lomprico2:More's the pity ![]() |
slyfoxxjoe:Wow see abuse! Isn't that a bit too harsh? I detest the Kardashians too but ho or not she's a citizen with a right to an opinion. Democracy is not selective. Even 'sluts' get to vote too. You guys, give her a break. |
MarieSucre:One million likes |
Lovely pictures. The architectural details are unbelievable. And so well preserved. A real cultural gem. Please pay no mind to the hateful comments. Some people know no other way to be. More pictures please. |
So all these dim-witted twits can't read where the article said she signed a pre-nup, which said she would inherit nothing. Is reading that difficult? Or they're too eager to go on an abusing spree. Bitch, olosho, LovePeddler. I wonder what kind of 'men' come on these forums. If I caught my sons talking like that about anyone, irrespective of what she is, I'd scrub their mouths with soap. Smh |
OmaniPadmeHum:One million likes. (That cold stare really works. It leaves the would-be bigot feeling small and quite confused. It usually gets them angry because they think you're being snobby and superior. Best treatment for them). We really need to start picking our battles intelligently. And not let everything get under our skin. Someone is gripping about her job and her customers. We all do. Should it have a different coloration because she happens to be white? (Pun intended). Some things are just not worth one's attention. Even if she was being racist. Why accord some small minded person undeserved attention? Let's save our precious time for the big things. Like when someone or an organisation denies you of a job you're qualified for simply because of your race. Then the gloves can rightly come off. Not for this little miss in a snit because she doesn't like her job. Who she be?? |
baby124:I think he uses a burner or some type of flame to create the light and shade, as well as the razor blade. That's what the article says. Whatever he uses, its extraordinarily creative, highly stylized and incredibly beautiful. Such talent should be supported. |
How do they know how big his junk is ![]() |
tonquendo4u:Don't waste your breath my brother. Nigerians will never change. And we will continue to be s(rewed over by politicians and rulers, northern and southern equally. These guys are united in their theivery, squandermania and rape of this country. Between them there is no religious or ethnic divide. They know they can depend on the rest of us to continue fighting each other while they continue their kleptomania. Nigeria is a lost cause, sorry to say. |
