Me too cheesy. I made beans for our students club. The foil plate was emptied grin before the burger joint. i was like eh. if you eat my bean eh, not for talk. I think adding a nice amount of onions to beans is important. No purge with my bean too. Have you tried ewa ati eko? Lol. I learnt eating ewa ati eko/akamu. Ewa with garri to kon (sour garri is nice on a very hot day.
I cook good beans, but I don't cook it all the time. Takes too long, jare. Aint no one got time for that.

I remembered the first I cook beans for African student organization, they won't let me rest, asking me to cook food constantly grin cheesy grin

My beans are delightful, that's the second best dish I learned to cook, after obe ata.
Not a fan of bean but I like eating a well cooked beans. My grandma add crayfish to her bean cheesy so yummy.
Her moi moi is not complete without Mackerel fish soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo yummish/delicious.

I like Northern Bean. We call it Kwaruru. It has big eyes cheesy I mean the tiny black part is so huge. The bean is big itself and very delicious but long time to cook. I saw it at the African store here, good memories growing up in the North.

Any Kwaruru bean fan here?

You know, I owe you nice egusi soup with bushmeat and plantain amala for dinner.

Pataki: I think it is wrong for newly married couples to be hosting family relatives in their house for a long period of time. It is maritally unhealthy and goes a long way in making couples not having the perfect bond and true understanding to themselves fully.

This is not about being wracked with guilt. It is about doing the right and most appropriate thing as a couple. Spend time together devoid of family ties. Unfortunately, even if the sister of the husband is angel michael, she is still in the way of this couple.
the gal should have left to their parents home immediately after the wedding. You can apply for jobs from Owerri now, then come back if called for interview.

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare of freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for halcyon skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the enameled plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till souls wax fair as earth and air
And music-hearted sea!

O beautiful for pilgrims feet,
Whose stem impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till paths be wrought through
wilds of thought
By pilgrim foot and knee!

O beautiful for glory-tale
Of liberating strife
When once and twice,
for man's avail
Men lavished precious life!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till selfish gain no longer stain
The banner of the free!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till nobler men keep once again
Thy whiter jubilee!

God bless America
God bless our Troops.

damiso and Mmotimo, you both are so right.
I think parents should try sending their children to some good private schools. Many are very strict and load their students with homework. Unfortunately you don't see many Black in private schools. Not sure why.
Live in good area so you have opportunity to send them to good public school.
Make sure they have after school lessons for maths, English and science. In home tutors too.
No divorce except in cases of extreme domestic abuse. If divorce, make sure you are still playimg your fatherly/motherly roles. . .100%.
But then, where will Nig parents building houses back home or carry extended family responsibilities have the extra money for such? Let's start setting our priorities right.
I learn a lot from my internship last year. If only we will set our head in the right place. If only....

damiso: Gbam. Its scary to be honest this parenting thing especially in the west.I feel soooo sad when i hear these naija names on the news being connected to criminality.

Me and my mum still had an argument about one of the causes of this.Nigerian or rather immigrants have this double expectation and that puts alot of pressure on us to achieve more financially. You want to have a good standard of living where you are and everyone(sometimes yourself sef)is hassling you about stuff you need to do back home.Haa iya lagbaja daughter has 5 houses in Lagos. You have to buy an expensive SUV that you drive once a year when you go home in an expensive 6 bedroom house that is shut most of the time for people to accept that you are 'successful' or 'doing well'.Add aso ebi, lavish parties plus flash cars to the mix as well.

Unfortunately some sacrifices have to be made to achieve this status quo especially if you are not lucky to have a high paying job(how many people even the natives themselves earn over 200,000 pounds a year) so for most its crime or working long ungodly hours.Even with this sometimes 'doing well' is still elusive.Add competition amongst couples, inlaws meddling, irresponsible parents(yes both mums and dads) you find the victims in this sacrifices are often the kids.
