noblezone:
OBJ was "great" when it comes to brute force! did that end MEND? NO!
It took a Jonathan from the ND to make MEND to pipe low.
What the General could not do, a bloody civilian did.

Believe me, if OBJ had continued with his military campaign, the ND will still be the boiling point. Point is, you can shoot people to death, but not idealogies.

Forty years after Biafra, many people still want Biafra, why?
Simple: Biafra was not a criminal uprising! It was a survival idealogy. Let Ojukwu die a 100 times, the idea will still live. Kill Uwazuruike a million times, the idea will still live.

Boko Haram was small, but they are now big. It was not Jonathan that made them big. Jonathan only inherited the BH and don't Goeorge him by his style.

He would have loved to achieve what he achieved with the MEND folks. Or di you not hear thata the BH folks refused amnesty? ( I was not suprised anyway).

Fact is this: it would be much easier for aNortherner, to deal with a Northern problem, and this is where I am wondering what sambo is doing.

In one of the Kano riots, the Jihardists started killing Igbos as usual. The the "Biafrans" mobilised and fought back.! They pursued the Jihardists right into the heart of their towns, until governemt came to beg them to stop. The "Biafrans" refused, and they said they were willing to die but that those who continue to kill them without course must taste what it is like first.

Do you know how they stopped it? They brought Army and Police personnels of Igbo ethnicity who came and negotiated peace.
Let Jonathan use this brute force you are talking about and see what happens.

During OBJ days, the killings especially in Jos was frequent: Tell me, did he stop it? Did he use the brute force?
Apart from removing Joshua Dariye (as demanded by the Emirs) what else did OBJ achieve in Jos? Mind you, it was so easy for him to stop the OPC.
I wish you the best, but if you think that is is about Jonathan, then you have been decieved.
hmmm, you cannot really argue against these facts.

nah this aint typical naija thinking. i am more of a realist. if your govt is owned by outside forces there is nothing you can do. all you can do is cut the govt out of your life. form community groups and then work together to better your own lives. pay a stipend every month into the community pot and then use that money to fix your own roads, to get solar panels to dig bore holes, to annexe your community into gated communities and then hire maiguard to guard the entrance of the community. THIS IS WHAT YOU CAN DO TO BETTER YOUR LOT IN A COUNTRY WHERE YOUR GOVT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU. NOW MY QUESTION TO YOUIS WHICH OF THESE HAVE YOU DONE huh/ ABI YOU ARE JUST AN ARM CHAIR REBEL WHO HUFFS AND PUFFS ON THE COMPUTER BUT DOCILE IN REAL LIFE WHEN IT COMES TO TAKING ACTIONS TO BETTER HIS LOT AND COMMUNITY ?
my guy you do not know who i am so just keep that line of thought out of your mind.i am even the one supposed to make this comment since you seem to be based more outside.

what happened to all the revolutionary leaders of africa who tried to make changes ? thomas sankara, patrice lumumba etc ? they got killed immediately. changing ? it will not be by our works. we are impotent to change it. its a cycle of life that just has to live itself out. maybe we are being punished for something. point being when the lord gets ready to destroy the usurpers of this world he will. till then ? we pray and grimace in pain at our existence  grin
this seems like typical naija thinking.

spiritualism is good but ability to face issues and be positively pragmatic is better.

sounds a bit like what my older cousin once said that she likes the way companies are shuuting down in nigeria increasing unemployement because it brings people closer to God hence the prolifiration of churches in the country.

We keep talking about oil, but oil is becoming a bit old school with the ongoing rejigging of the petroleum industry. Gas is the new kid on the block, it will generate 7 times more money per annum than is possible from oil (thats why its called the gas revolution).

The major gas states are Delta, Bayelsa and Anambra. Those three states will likely dwarf Lagos in the next few years.
only if the funds are used well

i laugh when i read stuff like this. do you really think you are as free as you think you are ? do you think you can just willy nilly change things in a country that is one of the components that keeps the western economy ticking by providing oil. you really think you are in charge of your own destiny dont you ? listen, we are on lockdown in nigeria from the big guns of the world. you cant change a damn thing even if you wanted and if you tried you will be killed immediately via the divide and conquer modus operandus. bros you are not as free as you think you are. we dont even own ourselves. they like us the way we are. with corrupt leaders who will dance to the tune of the big guns. the corporatocracy of the world. the people who own the world. the tools of the dark one. the fallen angels
so how is the trend going to be reversed?

or is going to remain like that forever because i do not see any sign of it changing.

the mistake you are making is in believing that we are running a system. we are flying by the seat of our pants. there is no system. african leaders are 'freestyling' it. there is nothing to change. wasnt a system in place to be changed. what we need to do is extricate our self from this cumbersome western styled government and devolve into local government politics. let the different tiny factions of the country be controlled by the local government and the people. direct participation of the people. africans are not cut out for this western styled govts. for west styled govt to work, you need a computerized data of everyone in the country and the housing stock in the country. without that, you may as well devolve into local govt politics
and if i may ask who is stopping the bolded?

is it not us?

the white man gave us a system that seemingly does work for us so why  do we  not  revert to our own native systems?

below is a comment by logic101 in another thread to clarify the problem with the blackman

Afrikan people need to be shocked out of our 'waking coma' and face the harsh realities of the world we are in. No one but ourselves is going to change our generally pitiful economic condition. This is a fiercely competitive world in which different groups compete against each other, whilst many of us are locked into an individualistic fantasy; thinking that success is a purely individual pursuit. Group identity, solidarity, trust, co-operation and accountability provide the platform for individuals to achieve economic success. This is why Afrikans are at the bottom of the economic pile wherever we live, despite the Oprahs, Bob Johnsons, athletes, entertainers etc.

i would relocate to my village if the bellicose and belligerent morons we call leaders took their heads out of their butts for once and become selfless.
so how come the system we are running hardly produces men with foresight?

if a system is not good why do not we change it?

or is it the white man that is preventing that too?

even if it is is not a shame?

if you call building concrete jungles and polluting their waters with toxins and building weaponry to steal from others, and taxing and keeping your subjects in a tangled jail of debts and taxation and in mental prison from cradle to grave, if you call racism, and all that other stuff 'INDUSTRIALIZATION' then bros ill rather be un-industrialized.
talk is cheap.if you are tired of all those things you listed please kindly relocate PERMANENTLY to your village.

you do not get it do you ?? you simple minded person. listen, the way the world is laid out today is not a physical representation of heaven. this is not how we are supposed to be living. the world as it stands today is totally alien to the original people. we are all behind enemy lines. we are aliens to this system and as such will never thrive in it. what we have to all do is to collectively get ourselves together, get our spirits right with the creator. only then will the burden and yoke of demonic bondage and living be lifted from our lives. only then will the west crumble and the true physical representation of heaven manifest itself. we are currently behind enemy lines. its rough out here i tell ya. industrialization is not a tool of God. industrialization and capitalism are tools created by dark powers to swiftly bring this world to its knees and to bring misery and suffering.

Abia State has the highest number of core Northerners in the East.Umuahia has some naturalised Northerners while Umuchieze has a town of about 30thousand which is almost entirely Northerners. Not to talk of Okigwe-Uturu hills which is shared between Imo and Abia.Yorubas are fewer and restricted mainly to taxi driving, tailoring, banking, mechanic and Church affairs.

They are however no where in comparison to Igbos in the North. The truth is that most of the elites involved in the wronging of Igbos in the past are scared of possible Igbo revenge.Even here in Rivers State a Riverine friend of mine was told by his parents not to invest in the Upland apart from GRA that Igbos might seize his land.I laughed at their ignorance. His parents are one of those popular Kalabari names. He is on Nairaland too.

Why I dislike him is because he is stingy.Anambra political appointees earn next to nothing and usually fall out with him.I once asked on Nairaland where is Anambra's money going?
i do not see how that is an issue.if that is the only problem with him then there is no problem or do you prefer jumbo salaries for political appointees?
