We don die for this country
How many Nigerians do you think have problem with Cameron`s insults? A country gets the type of President she deserves. Call Iran or Pakistan corrupt on the eve of a visit to your country, the leaders of those countries would not only cancel the visits but their citizens back home would invade British embassy inside their countries in a matter of hours to let them know they wouldn`t take insults from a deeply corrupt mediocre. One Nigeria said on Nairaland yesterday that he can`t protest because he has heritage to protect. We all know the common heritage of the black man, don`t we?
In the last 3 days, I would be surprised if a single Nigerian protested at the British High Cimmission in Nigeria, the President disgraced himself and I never saw our High Commissioner once on television in London. So tell me what is not to like and who is complaining? You?

What is in this picture to show that the arrested man is a Biafran protester? Or is it any picture of a black man being arrested means it is IPOB? The logo on his shirt is not clear enough to know what it is. The arrested man could be anybody. Britain is a highly civilised country, unlike Nigeria. Freedom of expression is very important for them. British police will ever arrest anyone for protesting peacefully. This is fake news
It takes fake to know fake and never a pleasure to waste time with those. Good morning

are you suggesting then that he was arrested just for protesting? Now tell me why would that be the case, was he doing any thing different? That warranted the arrest. Because as i mentioned earlier the arrest could not have been just for protesting! Since when has JUST protesting become a crime in England?
The front of Lancaster House was where all protesters were restricted to. So whether you are from Afghanistan or Nigeria, everybody used the place allocated for protesters. What happened was that after standing in one place for hours, you feel like walking around. Everybody did that. But once you leave the place assigned for protest, you only have one place to go that is of interest, and that is the St James` Park which is where the Queen`s Buckingham palace is. So those guys were doing what everybody did. The problem is, suddenly you have gone from the front of Lancaster House that is very multi-cultural ( because of protests ) to a place that is now 95% white, and you quickly notice that. My point is, those guys were not even carrying a placard so they must have been arrested for some stereotypical nonsense that won`t come as a surprise to anyone that knows how unprofessional and racist the Metropolitan Police could be.

Anyway, the British police didn't take him away into a waiting van like that filthy yoruba criminal at the train station, so it is safe to say he has been released to go home like the brave IPOB guy that confronted murderer Rochas.

IPOB are law abiding people that's why they have British MPs speaking for them in UK parliament and these breaks the heart of many fulanis and there yoruba puppets. So that latch onto any news that seeks to discredit IPOB. I understand their pains. grin

I'm not sure if this picture is that of a Biafran protester, the logo on his shirt is too small to make out what it is
Trust me 100%, those two were Biafrans; and I know they were not doing anything illegal than walking around like any other individuals that were there to protest.

This news is a big lie, they could not have arrested him just for protesting there must be something else, even if it is for protesting they will let him go in few minutes
You guys are funny, more informed than those that went to protest. Those guys were arrested for no reason and unnecessarily rough-handled. I walked pass them where that picture was taken. That was not where Biafrans were gathered, as the OP rightly said, those guys were arrested close to Buckingham palace. There was no something else; every protester took time off to walk around St James` Park- how could that be a crime and you talk as if the Met Police is a professional force.

Once London newspapers are defending our country better than our President, I accept that there is a huge problem. This is The Guardian (London) in its editorial earlier yesterday after David Cameron`s insults:

"There are times when a manual earth-restructuring implement is best referred to as a spade, so let us speak plainly. A summit will be held tomorrow in a city that is internationally recognized as a tax haven. It is being hosted by a politician who admitted last month that he has personally profited from offshore finance and whose party is bankrolled by an industry that makes extravagant use of those tax havens. Not only that, he has intervened to aid tax avoiders. That is right, David Cameron is holding a meeting on corruption.

The West have spent decades ordering poor countries and failed states to sort out their problems with dodgy money, even while taking much of that dodgy money and ploughing it through their banks, their ritzy stores, their estate agents, and their offshore tax havens- with barely any questions asked or eyebrows raised. When Mr Cameron was caught on camera yesterday boasting to the Queen of the "fantastically corrupt countries" turning up at Lancaster House this week, he might have mentioned that Afghanistan is a failed state that did not get any less failed over 13 years of British intervention. And he should certainly have mentioned that the president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, is coming to London to lobby it to sort out the tax havens in its own backyard. Indeed, Mr Cameron might have quoted a letter sent to him a fortnight ago by campaigners in Nigeria
" We are embarked on a nationwide anti-corruption campaign ," the letter said. "But these efforts are sadly undermined if countries such as your own are welcoming our corrupt to hide their ill-gotten gains in your luxury homes, department stores, car dealerships, private schools and anywhere else that will accept their cash with no questions asked. The role of London`s property market as vessels to conceal stolen wealth has been exposed in court documents, reports, documentaries and more."

So the speaker of the Nigerian senate, Bukola Saraki, currently facing allegations that he failed to declare his assets, owns a property in London`s Belgravia in his own name. But last month`s Panama Papers revealed that the £5.7m property next door is owned by companies incorporated in the Seychelles and British Virgin Islands, whose respective shareholders are Saraki`s wife and former special assistant. And a £1.65m townhouse in Kensington is shown as belonging to a BVI company whose sole shareholder is Folorunsho Coker, former head of the number plate production of Lagos State and currently business adviser to governor of Lagos. None of these individuals may have done anything wrong, but the charge from those campaigners is hard to duck. Under successive governments, from Thatcher to Blair to Cameron, London has become the financial centre for the world`s dirty money.

A third of all the trillions hiding offshore are sitting in tax havens linked to the UK, according to Oxfam. These havens rely on Britain for security and protection"

If the president knows his onions, He should state that the off guard remark by Cameron is highly detestable and out of touch & as a result Nigeria is demanding an unreserved apology. Cancel appearance on the anti corruption summit. Return back and summon the british permanent rep to deliver a notice of displeasure by the Nigerian state to Britain.

That way, Cameron will watch his tongue next time. BUT alas... Our president "GENERAL" and POWER na for Olisa Metuh and FFK body e dey show. He can lap anything in the name of appearing good to UK & USA.

Recall when Obama went to Kenya and started talking rubbish about gay freedom, The Kenyan President told him to cut the crap & discuss how both countries can do good business. Gay is not top of mind for Kenyans.

Same way Britain should cut us some slack on the corruption fight. We are handling it. Lets talk business and if you don't want, gerrarahere!!!

hmmmmmm.......which one am I going to follow.....BUBU or Cameron.......
According to Transparency International, the 10 most corrupt nations in 2015 are as follows:

1 North Korea and Somalia ( tied )

2 Afghanistan

3 Sudan

4 Angola and South Sudan ( tied )

5 Iran and Libya ( tied )

6 Haiti, Guinea Bissau and Venezuela ( tied )

7 Eritrea, Syria, Turkmenistan and Yemen ( tied )

8 Uzbekistan

9 Burundi, Cambodia and Zimbabwe (tied )

10 Chad, Democratic Rep. of Congo and Myanmar ( tied )

You can see that being a British Prime Minister doesn`t mean you can`t be an ignoramus. Only a village illiterate would lump Nigeria and Afghanistan together on anything. Nigeria is not even among the worst 20 corrupt nations; we are around 35 or so.

PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Drops Bombshell On Successors by ATERI(m): 10:32am On May 10, 2016
Chris Mullin was one of the reliable ones in London who worked for Her Majesty`s Government around the world. In one of his political Diaries, Decline and Fall, he was in Nigeria to witness Obasanjo`s show of shame in 2007:

Monday, 23 April

The Residence, Abuja

Awoke this morning with nothing in the diary save a vague promise of breakfast with the national secretary of the ruling party, Ojo Madueke, who had clearly forgotten we were coming
One phone call from Ojo and the meeting with Yar`Adua was arranged.... we then call on Nasir El-Rufai, one of a handful of people with a direct line to the President, Olusegun Obasanjo. No sooner had we indicated that we would like to see the President than he pulled out his state of the art mobile and tapped in a number. `Abdul. Is the President there? He is in a meeting. Would you ask him to call me back?

Within minutes Obasanjo himself was on the line. `Mr President, I have Mr Mullin and British High Commissioner with me. They would like to see you. Good, I would bring them around
With that we piled into the flag car and were whisked through the multiple rings of security, into the presidential compound in the shadow of Aso Rock...Our main purpose was to warn him that he was in for a battering from the international community for the manner in which the 2007 presidential election had been conducted. He had already worked this out for himself. He knew that the election had been over-rigged- at one point, he said, he had been shown a poll suggesting that the ruling party would win an utterly incredible 35 out of 36 states and had sent word to his henchmen to cool it ( in the event they only took 29 ). ...

Only once before in Nigeria`s history has power passed to a civilian government and that, too, was Obasanjo`s doing. He may be an uncouth old rogue, but you can`t take that away from him.

Well, Obasanjo can call himself anything he likes, but what all and sundry know is that he is an irredeemable electoral fraudster. The whole world knows that!

PoliticsRe: £250million Given To Buhari By Britain - Dailymail by ATERI(m): 3:09pm On May 08, 2016
The more Buhari refuses to surrender to Western re-colonisation agenda the more you guys would read things like this from Anglo-American toilet papers. The main reason behind giving aid to us is because they want to keep on controlling us. They would rarely criticize Buhari if he had surrendered to their agenda. As for the children of Buhari being educated abroad, it`s a legitimate question to ask the President: where is the money coming from? As to our law-makers being one of the highest paid in the world, well, we know that already. We would leave them for now because they would cease to exist in the next one decade.
Funny thing is, the editor of the daily mail is collecting money from Europe under Common Agricultural Policy. He is a journalist that is collecting money that are meant for European farmers but hijacked by the power elites with acres of land that have nothing to do with farming. So daily mail trying to give lecture on probity or accountability is tantamount to Boko Haram preaching love and peace.

You gave Op a good advice but the road to resident permit is never cast in stone. A change in government, for instance, may lead to a change in many immigration rules including the current one that expects students to return home after studies. Let`s assume nothing changed and OP falls in love and marry in London, coming back home after studies would not necessarily mean the end of the story. All of the above are plausible assumptions that have nothing to do with immorality or illegality.

My people, everybody knows that Ondo's oil is bigger than SE and SS oil put together, just like Osun's economy was bigger than SE's economy.

What i dont understant then is why we yorubas are the most agitated by the recent happenings in the Niger delta, despite having unlimited quantity of oil in Ondo.

Why cant we depend on the Ondo oil and stop fighting our usual online kiriji war by telling people of south south how "stupid" they are in disrupting oil production in their land.
Are we not suppose to be thinking about our own future?

Why are we more concerned about Niger delta than our own land?

Since the ondo oil is bigger than that of Se and Niger delta put together, shouldnt it be enough to serve the whole country? This is the time to prove it and shame the flaatheads.

Niger delta does not complain, SE does not complain, even the North does not complain as much as we do. If we continue like this others will start seeing us as leeches.
