CareerRe: Do Investigative Journalism Still Existing In Nigeria? by ATERI(m): 10:03am On Jul 10, 2016
One of the funny things about Nigerians is that we don`t believe that every action has a consequence. Investigative journalism died in Octtober, 1986 when Babangida sent a letter bomb to one of the best journalists around- Dele Giwa was about to link drug peddling in Nigeria to the Babangida family. Having been to a couple of countries in my short life, I think I can say with confidence that Nigeria used to have one of the best print media in the world. The worst era in the history of Nigeria was the days of Sanni Abacha. From the first day of Sanni Abacha`s dictatorship till he eventually died in the company of prostitutes, the TELL magazine fought him and his fellow murderers relentlessly. What was your reaction the day Ibrahim Babangida sent a letter bomb to Dele Giwa? There was no reaction except from one man called Gani Fawehinmi

I mentioned TELL because it was a magazine that took on a deadly dictator inside Nigeria. Sahara Reporters is based in New York taking on politicians in Nigeria. Most of the news stories you guys are commending Sahara for were passed on to them by nervous Nigerian journalists that are based in Nigeria. Since Sahara Reporters is based in America, I`m waiting for the day it would start to bring the ugly sides of America- the terrible homelessness, the lunatic gun culture, the suffocating poverty, the pernicious racism etc, to the homes and officess of the Nigerian people. Truth is, Sahara would not last if it should start to criticize America while based in America. So blessed are those who can`t be silenced by any power- not by local power, not by foreign power, not by any power.

We have to believe that our moderators know what they are doing. A website can only be the best in Africa if it`s on the side of the black race. If cobra-killing tales in Ketu can be fast-tracked to the front page, I think the execution of two black men in racist America deserve the same treatment, if not better.

Your analysis isn't bad in my view but it misses out on certain salient points. Ojukwu once believed in Nigeria. He believed in it so much that he fought for Nigeria in the Congo. What changed his mind? Nigeria started unraveling as soon as the British left in 1960. Sectional interests took over which culminated in 1966 coup, counter-coup and eventual mass slaughter of Easterners, the declaration of Biafra and the war that followed. We have had 50 years of trials and tribulations to see that Nigeria does not work as a nation. The brief period of prosperity we had 1960-64 was when we were loosely connected under the regional system. Since Gowon dissolved the regions and created States to encourage the unitary system, we have been fighting each other. When people have been fighting themselves for 50 years, a times comes to say enough is enough. What might have saved Nigeria is if it was run under a confederal structure with a very weak centre and powerful federating units just like Ojukwu and Gowon signed in Ghana. Sadly, this does not sit well with the Norths "born to rule" ideology. Therefore, the only rational thing to do is to dismantle this house of Lord Lugard and let the indigenous of the land choose their destiny via a referendum. This talk about ISIS or Boko Haram is story for the beds in the sky. Let everyone go and protect themselves, let everyone institute their on Governments and administer themselves. Nigeria is a failed enterprise and no amount of 'dilly-dallying' will change that fact
I`m all for confederation, but tell me how united are the people of your wards before we get to your local governments, then the states. The truth is that, if anyone is going to do well out of confederation, we would know through what is happening in the states today. Who is stopping the South-West from continuing with their free education policy? Lack of political will is the answer. Is Buhari stopping Enugu State governor from putting a welfare package in place for the people of Enugu? Is there anything in the constitution that makes that impossible?
My brother, do you know it`s illegal to conduct a referendum in Germany? Or is Germany also a zoo? After German re-unification billions were pumped into East Germany in order to equalize things. In other words, regions need each other to prosper, that is not going to change under federation or confederation
The South-East does not have any reason to be causing any confusion right now. A politically savvy Igbo would be the most quiet in Nigeria today because everybody knows that it is the turn of Igboland to produce the President of this country. Whatever you want can then be pursued then and you would see the outcome. What is the rationale for creating distractions when you should be concentrating minds on Igbo`s marginalisation? How is the current situation going to boost your chances?
If we have confederation today, opposition party in Igboland would reach out to the centre in their quest for power and as a way of gaining that power in their region, leading to the type of chaos that happened in the South-West during the 1st republic. That can`t be an ideal scenario
PoliticsRe: Secessionists; Aftermath Of Leaving Nigeria by ATERI(m): 8:44am On Jul 07, 2016
Op started well only to devalue the piece towards the end. North may have all those resources, but the fact is that the Niger Delta region has been sustaining Nigeria since the 70s. From 1979 till 1999 Northerners were in total control of Nigeria, and they looted the treasury to such an extent that Nigeria becomes a failed state.

Let me tell Biafrans that none of them can be more intelligent than Ojukwu. What that means is that they need to pursue their reforming ambitions differently. In a democratic system, a referendum is an inferior decision-making process, that is why elections are relied upon. As the Op has pointed out, you never know what secession would give you in the final analysis. There is no evidence to support the view that a nation can only do well by becoming smaller. Granted, Norway and Sweden were one and the same country before ditto Belgium and the Netherlands, but I don`t think their separation was the main reason why they are doing fine today. The unification of East and West Germany has contributed enormously to making Germany the king of Europe. And it was after Hong Kong was added to China that China becomes an economic super power. It`s said that a pessimist would see difficulty in every opportunity and an optimist would see opportunity in every difficulty. The size and population of our country should not be blamed for our backwardness, let`s blame our leaders. Why was South-West region able to provide free education to university level between 1979 and 1983 and South-East couldn`t? Who should one blame for this, the North?
Secession may and may not lead to a better Igboland

Just to put things in context, the draft-dodging crime that almost ended Ali`s career did not stop Bill Clinton from becoming America`s President. Bill Clinton was also a draft dodger, but his skin colour means he can get away with draft-dodging without any negative consequences

What can I say? Just to wish all men and women that cherish service to others, wherever they are, the best of luck. People like Jackson and Joe Louise were African-American boxers that were formidable in their own right. Those two reigned before Ali, but they never stepped into the political ring. Ali himself said something along the line of service to humanity being the rent you pay for living in God`s house. The political decision that Ali made took away the best part of his professional career. Here was a boxer that fought racism and America`s terrorism when it was not fashionable to do so. At the core of his struggle was the plight of the people Yoruba and Igbo sold to the white man. He stood up and challenged their low status and nobodiness.

The most important question is this: where would Obama be today if Macolm X, Martin Luther King and Rosa Park had put their families first ahead of the civil rights struggle? Anyway, I don`t expect a follower to think like a leader. RIP Ali, because you remain the greatest political boxer that has ever lived!
Foreign AffairsRe: The Uk's EU Referendum: All You Need To Know by ATERI(m): 2:49pm On Jun 10, 2016
We seem to be suffering from referendum addiction. The economy of Britain was so bad that workers were on a three-day week before deciding to join the EU in the 70s. Now that they are doing well, they want to leave the ones that are struggling.

Referendum would not give the Biafrans what they want once Ike Nwachukwu happens to be the president of Nigeria when that referendum is conducted. Just as it wouldn`t have delivered anything, if the Niger Deltans had been given one when Goodluck Jonathan was in power.

People need to learn that societal problems would always exist and referendum can`t solve everything.
TravelRe: I'm Relocating My Family From Europe To Nigeria, Please Advice by ATERI(m): 1:47pm On Jun 10, 2016
No information on the age-range of your children, no information on what your wife thinks about this idea and no information on whether you and your family have dual nationality. In the absence of these, I will advise you to take what the lady that asked you whether you or your wife is going to stay with them in Nigeria seriously. Youngest85 has given you the practical problems that can happen when husband and wife live apart.

I must say it`s no more fashionable to be talking of going back home until you have become well-established in a developed country. Start to see both Continents as homes for different reasons. Now, the children are the issue and Nigeria is the best place to bring them up- you and I agree on that
Llet your wife be the one to decide who goes back with the children and who stays back in Europe. Please be aware that your wife is not a wood so you will need to be going to her regularly after that relocation. It means you would need to do away with the big cars and other luxury for the sake of your family.

You don`t need my tutorial on why you need to bring up your children in Nigeria, you know the facts; just go ahead with your plans. Once your children have to look for an interpreter before they can understand your native language, or before your own mum can understand what language they are speaking, it means you have failed those children. The light that goes off when they are about to start their revision/home-work, the car they couldn`t use due to lack of fuel, the erratic water supply that force them to walk 1km to collect drinkable water, the neighbours that are constantly telling them that the only relationship that is valid is the one between man and woman or that in Nigeria the final say belongs to those that are older than you, means you have fulfilled an important parental role, something they would thank you for, if they have to come back to Europe as adults. Disregard my advice if you and your family have no dual nationality. Good luck

It is good for people that are not facing the hardship of this country to support the current economic stance of this government. I took my time to ask my loyal friends living abroad what they think about this government, 90 % of them are supporting him the rest I know did benefited directly from the past government and one was just sentimental based on his region.
Nigerians living abroad understand the concept of working hard in the cold and standing for 8 - 9 hours to earn few changes.

The idea of one man stealing wages of 100 or more people has never come across anyone's mind because we know the end result would be a jail term whoever you know.
Nigerians living abroad are the most law abiding citizens you can ever meet, and the once who come on holiday will always abide by the host laws but act like animals at home.
However, most of the people are ask what they like about this government was the fight against corruption. I travelled to the UK sometimes ago and I ask my this people go on holiday to sunny Spain and my friend said they some of them don't have to worry about mummy or daddy, cousin, sister etc because all have been provided for them.
If you don't have a job go to job centre and collect some money after showing evidence, that apart.
One thing I have learnt from this people is that, they want to come back home, they want to have everything the UK and US has in Nigeria as well. Seeing on tv how people mismanaged public funds is very annoying.

The once they hate mostly is seeing people who stole a chicken been killed or sentenced to death with someone who stole billions is giving a warm welcome. Back to the point, everybody in Nigeria need to come out and fight this corruption without any sentiment.
We are not trusted anywhere we go, we are now the face of corruption let us all be known for something really positive.
How many friends do you have abroad, and how many people did you include in your survey? Pretty misleading topic!

Foreign AffairsRe: Dis-integration Noose Thightens On The EU, As France Goes Brexit Way by ATERI(m): 9:42am On May 31, 2016
Appleyard:
My dear brother, our views and perceptions are mostly informed by our inclinations to, and the inbibing of or comformity to the various forms of social stratification - the various elements of cultural background, belief system, political and social orientation, and their subsequent views. The way some conservative or liberal Brits will view some aspects of economic or political issues, based on certain standards of socio-cultural and political socialization, may never be the same way some Germans or French would view same issues in a given similar situation and conditions. As such, the thoughts and disparity in views of such groups, will always make up part of the broader picture, and so, its relevant and must be employed in formulating and determining a viable opinion and decision making, by modes of critical appraisal.

Yeah, Germany and France are the life wire of the EU, and going down the road like Britain, just like you said, its not feaseable for the time being. Nevertheless, the fact remains that there exist an avanlanche of 'disgruntled elements' based on some readily available issues within the internal 'liberal or conservative democratic' cultural settings of some of this independent states that makes up the EU.

It will interest you to know that, though France being a pillar of the EU project, and one that, under normal circumstances, should help keep the bloc in one piece and encourage its enlargement further into Europe, yet, in a recent survey of French respondents shows that more than 40% of French people are keener for Britain to leave the EU than any other nationality in the bloc. And the survey also shows that alot more than this percentage also want their own exit referandum.

What am trying to say here is that (just like i said earlier,) the idea behind the formation of the EU was never in doubt, but there are those within the bloc who felt that there is more to lose than to gain in the union, and recent happenings such as the migrant issues, security challenges, inter alia, has added more fuel to the already heating furnace. This is exactly why the bloc is facing this kind of challenge in form of 'Brexit' right now. And even if Brexit fails today, it still won't make much difference for the bloc, because the precedent has already been created, and some more states will definitly follow this same pact in the near future, and which would only entails the cracks in the Union. For there is no substitute for what people feels or see as 'freedom' and 'choice.' Political and economic views may, and do evolves, and people may go along: but by the time people begin to see or felt that such evolvement is gradably encroaching into what they might have interpreted and inbibed from time immemorial as 'freedom' or 'choice,' they will then classify it as a 'threat,' and before you say 'Jack,' the discomfort and resentment ante has gone up the ladder, and then the pushback begins. This is exactly the situation in Britain right now, with similar virus developing elsewhere, as it seems. This have nothing to do with people loving Russia and wanting the EU to break up. Western Europe was never the helm of Russia's sphere of influence, aside the East. The EU was in cordial relationship with the Kremlin since eons, until Amerika came to severe the cord following the Coup in Ukraine and the subsequent NATO up thick in provocasion in the Eastern fronts.
And this is just another reason why so many accross the bloc are increasingly getting uneasy being in it. To them (and is rightly so) the EU made itself a willing bunch of vassals in the hands of America poker game diabolic interest, instead of its own interest. For Europe need Russia than the US needs it, and has more tn lose than US would; and that is a fact. But it decide d to play the puppet, and not so many a people in the bloc likes that. Little wonder you have such huge French people wanting the Brits (US chief conspirator) out of the EU.

It never has anything to do with hatred for the EU and love for Russia. The crux is: there is no substitute for CHOICE
Should we apply this to Nigeria? Or all Nigerians are happy to be in that federation today? You can`t go around and say because some people are dissatisfied with the status quo then the next thing is to quit the most successful economic and political bloc in the world. Let me leave you and your fellow Leavers with a question: since there is no country that has ever left the EU before, how can you lot be pontificating on what would happen to Britain after leaving the EU? Good morning!

My brother, I don`t analyse issues based on what other people say; you have given me the link to what those that want to leave the EU said, well, their views are not that important because they advance the positions that suit their geo-political objectives. my own position is neutral based on my experience in Europe. Right now, the arguments of those that want to leave the EU in London have suddenly come down to immigration, because that is the only territory that would allow them to stand on two legs, but we all know that virtually every argument on migration today could have been advanced 20 years ago. Austria was the first country to be sanctioned by the EU for bringing neo-nazi into mainstream politics in 2000. The argument of Jorgen Haider then was based on foreigners taking over Austria, and he got 3% in the polls.
I respect that most of you guys here are anti-EU. The Express newspaper you started this thread with is one of the most anti-EU newspapers in London, along with the Mail, Sun and the Daily Telegraph. And I started by saying that expecting Germany and France to go down the road of Britain is not feasible in the nearest future because those two countries constitute the pillar on which the EU stand, anyone that knows anything about European politics won`t argue with that.
All lovers of Russia want the EU to die, because they are angry about EU enlargement and what they see as an encroachment on Russia`s sphere of influence when EU allowed countries from Eastern Europe to join the EU. Well, I`m a lover of Russia but also a lover of Europe.
PoliticsRe: Happy Democracy Day!!! by ATERI(m): 11:11am On May 29, 2016
May 29, 1999 is no democracy day; democracy day in Nigeria is and always would be June 12, 1993. May 29 is a counterfeit version of June 12. On June 12, 1993 the Nigerian people gave a mandate to MKO Abiola as the first democratically elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria through a free and fair election. On May 29, 1999 a military `selectorate` sworn in one of their fellow abortionists of democracy and decreed that the day should be remembered as a democracy day. A day does not become important by decree.
There is no point dwelling on whatever has been going on since 1999 because a fraudulent foundation can never deliver a positive outcome.
Foreign AffairsRe: Dis-integration Noose Thightens On The EU, As France Goes Brexit Way by ATERI(m): 1:59am On May 29, 2016
Appleyard:
I can't agree less. The idea behind the EU is nothing short of economic wealth, political integration and creating an enabling environment for mutual cooperation. However, Europeans are people that loves and cherish their freedom and choice so much, that they're not willing to trade places for it, and the crux of this ungoing ''exit'' problem lies in the seemingly attempt to deny them of that very choice; and one of such problem is the immigrational arrangement under the Schengen free movement zone. By this arrangement, a lot of Eastern Europeans have been able to take up jobs in the West side, straining the healthcare, insurance and social security schemes of the host nations, to the detriment of its own citizens.
The recent and still ungoing migrant crisis further exercabated the whole process, as it brought into perpective the security challanges of 'open borders.' This aspect of security is perhaps the greatest challenge, as a lot of people are of the opinion that the European Union settings eroded or is interfering with sovereignty in certain vital areas that requires state independent decision making and foreign policy formulation alone. For instance, nations like Germany, France, Poland, Ireland, etc, which have much to lose in terms of market and product sales, in the wake of sanctions and counter sanctions with Russia, have no choice but to comply; since only a consensus can make the sanctions work. In other words, such nations make the choice against their own interest, but to the ultimate interest of the US and Britain. This is another reason why many in France and in the UK (and even in Germany) are now calling for an exit; for they come to realize that their goverments have lost or is fast loosing sovereignty, rather, acting as willing puppets to further the course of the others who have barely or nothing to lose.
Perception is often different from reality.

The Franco-German alliance has always determined the direction of travel of the European Union, and as long as these two countries are in favour of the European project, there is no need to panic. We are talking of Brexit and Grexit today because of the domestic politics of the United Kingdom and the disloyalty of British politicians to the European project. There wouldn`t have been a USA, had America conducted a referendum in the South before independence
Germany, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg were the founding fathers of what we call the European Union today. It was when Britain became a basket case in the 70s that she applied for membership. Britain Joined the EU that was determined to stop wars on the continent of Europe by all means. And that is one of the achievements of the EU that, for the first time since the days of the Roman Empire, Europe has gone on for 70 years without a world war..
The relevant question is this: why is it that the issues that have brought about the emergence of Donald Trump in America are almost the same issues arresting minds in the EU- immigration, income inequality, widening gap between rich and poor, countries dominated by the 1%, politicians that are out of touch etc?. I have a theory.
The emergence of China as an economic power and the manner of that emergence have convinced the West of the need to do things differently. One of the things they are determined to do is to impose suffocating austerity on their citizens in order to balance their budgets. But suddenly, disaster struck in 2008, as global economy nearly collapsed. Now these two developments have hit the poor severely, but not the people that caused the problem. And apart from the criminal bombing of Libya and Syria, that have forced many to flee, there is the economic model that the West has been imposing on the world, economic model that robs the poor of their dignity while the rich and the powerful swim in luxury. So it`s the chicken of an unfair world order that have come home to roost- has llittle or nothing to do with the European Union.
How many countries are worse off today than when they joined the EU? The criteria set for membership have allowed countries like Portugal and Ireland to carry out meaningful reforms that transformed their countries greatly.
People say those from Poland have taken over their jobs. In London, Tony Blair came to power in 1997 after his Labour Party had been out of power for almost two decades; Blair vowed to keep the opposition (The Conservative Party) out of power for ever. One way of doing that was to allow East Europeans to come in large number, why should we blame the EU for that? Romanians do the work Brits would not do, Moroccans rent the rooms the Dutch won`t sleep in. And in Belgium, business is only good at the corner shop, because of the Croats . The countries that have more, share with those that have little or nothing. You can`t just trade, you must allow free movement of traders/people. If paternity leave is good in Sweden, it must be good in Slovakia. That is what the European Union is all about, but this poses a big challenge to those that are looking for agency workers with no rights or ones on zero-hour contracts. A social Europe is only a problem for those that do not believe in society.

Jeremy Hunt is a weasel of a man who earns so much but doesn't think others deserve a good pay for their hard work. You've seen what they can do even with being in the EU, I don't think they can do any worse even if Britain voted out. The major reason why the NHS will collapse is that the Tories will sell it to their cronies who will be protected under EU laws. As you can see more migrants from countries where health care is not free are coming in droves, I don't think it can be sustained as it is now unless they decide to either put in more fund or start charging people at the point of use. Frankly if you live up north and see the demands made by some of these Europeans on the NHS you may be tempted to vote out.
My sister, the Netherlands has the best healthcare system in Western Europe, the United Kingdom has never made it into top 10. Switzerland usually comes 2nd followed by the Scandinavian countries, so forget about NHS. Every citizen of the EU that resides in a member state enjoys either free or heavily subsidized healthcare that the citizens of that country enjoy. This means that the 1.2m Brits that scatter around Europe would come back home for their health issues upon leaving the EU.
The problem I have with this referendum is that, no immigrants would gain anything from it. Should Leavers carry the day, the Tories would destroy whatever workers` rights the UK have. Should the Remainers win it, that is likely to boost the chances of Nigel Farage as people gravitate towards UKIP in the next general election; and with that, all bets would be off. What is at stake is not necessarily the United States of Europe or United Europe of States, but the existence of the United Kingdom as we know it. Can Britain leave the European Union and expect Scotland not to leave Britain? We shall see
One thing that gives me hope that you will vote wisely is your superb analysis of what the Tories are all about. A vote to leave is a vote for the Conservative party. It has been nice chatting to you. Have a great weekend.

Well, they are CRIMINALS because they violated the host countries immigration policies.

So, His Excellency, General M Buhari, elder Statesman, two times President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Conquerer of Matsatsine, was indeed right grin
Can anyone be more criminal than a terrorist that sent his fellow terrorists to London to kidnap Umaru Dikko? Nigeria and Nigerians gave Buhari everything; what has Buhari given Nigerians? International disgrace! Good luck to you and your garrulous president.

you've made very good points I have to say but being In does not change anything for me. Yes I'm currently on maternity leave (you must be a wizard) and I'm enjoying my maternity pay, but I just don't know why I'm still leaning towards out. Let's just say I don't like the bureaucracy of Brussels, I don't want to pay to use the NHS and I work in the NHS and it doesn't look like it'll survive under Europe.
Ha ha, funny! Maybe additional income from card-reading then.
Would like to know your views on the tussle between junior doctors and Jeremy Hunt, especially in the context of the EU. The European Working Time Directive protects the health and safety of workers. Jeremy Hunt wanted to spread resources meant for five days to seven willy-nilly. This is happening notwithstanding the fact that UK is still a member of the European Union, and European laws restrict the number of hours an individual can work. Working on Sundays in the rest of Europe is considered a big deal, even in the health sector, so it would be insane for anyone to suggest there that they should treat their work on Sundays as just another day . In Britain, everybody is encouraged to opt out of 48-hour week, never a big deal, but people that deal with life and death situation should not be forced into doing that. My point is, the European Court of Justice would come to the aid of junior doctors in Britain, sooner or later. That can`t happen after leaving.

We know the criminal ones in Nigeria, there is nothing to suggest that he was one of those. The fact that most members of his generation are crooks doesn`t mean that all members of his generation are. Should we constantly fail to separate the good ones from the bad ones, we would be rubbishing the true meaning of service. May God give his family the fortitude to bear his loss, and may his soul rest in peace. Amen.

I will strongly advise that the government put in place a counseling unit at the arrival point for the deportees. Some of the deportees have stayed abroad for years and hardly knows where to go or how to start life again. We need to start treating each other as human beings. No matter what happened they are still citizens of Nigeria. some of the returnees sometimes comes back with nothing. Government could also put in place a process where they could be given some stipends to support them for transporting and upkeep for some few days. It's so sad to note that some of the deportees dies suddenly as a result of untreated traumas associated with the deportations.
Don`t forget that all of them are criminals, according to our President.

I will be surprised if we exit undecided I don't think most people are fully convinced by all the stuff highlighted by the "out" campaigners.

They're already causing family confusion, I'm in, my wife is out, our two grown up sons are yet to decide grin
Well, I would advise you to talk things over with your children. UK students are starting to emigrate to the rest of Europe for their education because of the reckless increase in university fees to £9,000 per session. In the rest of EU, British students pay next to nothing because they are all in EU. Gap year in Europe is straight-forward at present, but leaving EU would change that. The social and economic consequences of leaving would affect the younger generation more than their parents.

im not convinced myself but I'm leaning towards out while my husband is for staying In. He doesn't want the hassle of getting a visa just to go Mallorca or Ibiza. But I don't mind, the TTIP is just a shadow of what Europe represents. Also with the likes of Turkey and Macedonia joining very soon I just don't know
And you are 100% sure that TTIP would not be accepted by Britain once BREXIT carries the day? Anyway, don`t forget where your maternity leave and other employment rights come from. Margaret Thatcher did not opt out of the social chapter that all Europeans subscribe to for nothing.
And Boris Johnson used to be the most important voice in favour of Turkey joining the EU, likely to flip-flop back to that position when he gets the big prize he is after. Also bear it in mind that when BREXIT talk of embracing immgration from the Commonwealth, what they are after are immigrants from Canada, Australia and New Zealand. They are against Turkey and Eastern Europe today, but it`s going to be against Nigeria and Jamaica after leaving the EU.

Hello sir!

Do Holland universities accept NOUN(National Open University of Nigeria ) 100level transcript?

I am also planning on writing A-level exam in Nigeria. Is that okay for admission into Holland universities?

Thank you.
Hi

Not there at the moment so won`t be able to give you an answer that is 100% relevant. One thing you have to know is that most of the undergraduate courses in the Netherlands are run in Nederlands or Dutch, so you may want to find out what the present situation is. Most Nigerian students are there for their masters which are mostly done in English. One thing I remember is that many Nigerians got to the country when I was there and started a degree with the British Open University, which has a branch in De Hague. The only problem with that is, it may not help with your resident permit.
I also know that certificates from Nigeria used to be well respected there, although that was already changing before I left. I would still like to believe that a Nigerian certificate is not going to be a total minus or something you won`t be able to gain admission with.
By the way, I think you wouldn`t need a rigorous exam or a transcript from Nigeria before you can start with the Open University in Europe provided that course is in English. Good luck!

why is this man visiting a TV station to talk rubbish when he just came back from London where he had the opportunity to confront Cameron face to face or betterstill pass his message through one of their TV stations where the message will reach David Cameron quickly.

His extravagance tends to rub many people the wrong way, but that shouldn`t eraze the fact that he stood up for Nigeria in London- the only government official to do so during Buhari`s visit. in all his tv appearances, he didn`t just speak, but spoke brilliantly well.
