Why remain lovers? She will most likely not change her mind, unless nothing better comes along. If she had answreed with a maybe then that is a bit more flexible. After ovulation period, the ovum dies after about 3days and comes out in form of blood. This period of blood flow is what is known as menstruation. However if a woman sleeps with a man from about 2nd to 3rd through 14th to 15th day after her period, she could get pregnant within these days. I bet you are not the owner of that baby if you only slept with her during her menstruation because their is no active egg(ovum) released in her to meet with your sperm and form a baby. If you doubt me ask a gynaecologist.

Aaaah, I understand how it could be possible. Just like you said. The person would need to have a short cycle (22 days). So the ovulation is roughly 3-4 days after the menstruation. That way if se.x occurs during menstruation and the sperm are present in the fallopian tube during this period, the new egg might become fertilized by that sperm.

Or something along those lines. Sperm can live up to 3 days, so 3 days after the last blood is when the ovulation has to occur for it to happen.
