That was some 30 years ago

You use the same Roland

We use modern Jets

Clown.

And your helo's are inferior in every way - just waiting to eat Starstreak missiles
Mi-35 Hinds have chaff and flare counter-measures to waste your hand held Starstreak missiles.

Easy, NAF helicopters can fly at 3km altitude and be laughing at your 1km maximum altitude 'modern' Starstreak missiles that is as good as a catapult made of wood from Iroko tree grin

Your modern jets are poorly armed, South Africa has NO SINGLE air to ground missile.

Your laser guided bombs and missiles will have their laser system jammed by our APCs smoke dispensers and T-84 has Optronics laser jammer.

Your snail speed guided bombs will be sh.ot down by ordinary anti-aircraft guns.

SAAF barks more than it can bite.....toothless bulldog grin

O wow, such convincing evidence grin
The report was from Ukrainian Tv news and I post the video here for you, the T-72 tank upgrade company manager said the tanks are going to Nigeria Africa. The website that copied the story interpreted it all into English.

Nigeria had T-72 tanks in the hundreds for many years kept secret, so secret that even SIPRI could not know it, now sent to Ukraine for full upgrade with Self Protection against anti-tank missiles.....you asked for our T-72 now we show you live videos....Expect Su-30 Flankers of NAF + JF-17 Thunders....watch this space !

Well done.

And the second source uses the first source as a citation

Show us info from a well known and respected source, Janes or whoever.

No one is falling for your thinly veiled lies.
Janes is not free, you pay suscription, so lets us use your credit card.

SIPRI updates only one a year, every April.

The only sources you get now will be general news media.

SIPRI that you are hungry for will be a shock and agony for you in April 2015 because it will be fully over-loaded with long list of new modern weapons purchased by Nigeria, weapons that South Africa is still praying and fasting to buy in 2030 grin

They sent Type 23 Frigates which is their main ASW asset

why didn't the British send a Super Lynx helicopter to hunt your submarine with standard dipping sonar?

They obviously sent one

You also didn't know that standard NATO warships of modern generation have anti-torpedo decoys they will use to defend against the best Russian submarines.

Luckily we dont operate Russian submarines

Stop being so butthurt
You should have fired one torpedo and see the NATO response your submarine will get. You think your navy can fight same NATO that sold the submarine to you? They will render your submarine useless with anti-torpedo decoys and sink it with counter attack ASW weapons

We have 660 artillery guns, you have 120. We have almost 500 tanks, you have 250, we have 30 + 40 = 70 combat helicopters, you have only 10, we have 300 navy inshore/midshore fast vessels, you have only 20.

So who has been doing major arms deals ? Nigeria or South Africa?

patches689: 1. First world militarys want dedicated attack helos
2. Rooivalk carries 2000kg of weapons, hind much less
3. Rooivalk has the finest ATGM's in the world, and Nigeria has none of those weapons

Again, provide citations that the Hind is better

And the Hind is oboslete trash, the only reason people buy it is because it is cheap
Post clear source of Rooivalk weapons payload kilograms and weapon option types....I will reply with Mi-35M superiority and we settle this argument forever....it will be Epic !

I challenge EVERY South African on Rooivalk Vs Mi-35M Hind E !

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by AugustineAgain:
patches689: Nigerian army 155mm heavy artillery will wipe out all your army's Igwe launchers from long range.

Our artillery outranges yours so we will smash it before it can hit our ATGM teams

Also, you cannot hit moving targets

Nigerian air defenses will sh.oot down all your Rooivalk and Hawks with ease.

Rooivalk can engage with Mokopa from 10km out - completely out of range of the Roland

Hawks can fly over the Roland and engage with JDAM's

Nigerian army tanks will then move in to Mass R.ape your SANDF in broad day light !

One attack by Rooivalk will leave 160 dead tanks on the battle-feild. And that is excluding Milan teams as well as Ratel Zt-3 teams

Use of our data-link means that artillery can engage moving targets.

T-72's can be killed by standard RPG 7's with HEAT rounds. Its pathetic

Forgot to remind you your half information on Shilka air defense guns maximum 'k.ill zone area range' is 7km !

Effective range is less than half-that. So they can engage at 7km... but they wont hit anything grin

Meanwhile 300 Roland missiles wait to feast on the whole South African air force of Mokopas

Mokopa outranges it

Gripen and Hawk can fly over it

Thanks for playing, but you have been relegated to the lower leagues. ]

[b]
1. Where will Nigeria's 660 artillery guns be when you fire your own 120 artillery?

Your best artillery range is 39km, ours is 40km.

2. Palmaria has direct fire high power target magnification optical sights and the gun range is 24 km, ALL your Tanks, MRAPS, and IFV with Ingwe have range of 2.5km guns and 5km missiles, so we k.ill you from 24 km away !

3. Where will Nigeria's current 30 combat helicopters be when you fly your 10 Rooivalks ?

4. Where will Nigeria's Alpha jets, MBB 339 jets, L-39 jets and F-7 jets be when you fly your Gripen jet and Hawk jets ?

5. Nigerian T-72 and T-84 tanks have self defence laser jammers so ALL South African laser guided Gripen and Hawk bombs plus Rooivalk Mokopa missiles will be TOTALY RENDERED USELESS.

6. Nigerian ISTAR 330km range radar spy aircraft plus spy satellites that see through clouds have TOTAL spy/intelligence/enemy detection/battlefield observation/recce/surveillance SUPERIORITY over South Africa.

We will locate and target and d.estroy everything you have.

.....You lose South Africa, you lose finally !!

patches689: A mixed role helicopter

It can carry troops

Hence, it is too big

Hence, it lacks maneuverability

Hence, it is sh1t at low level hovering and has to attack targets like a fixed wing aircraft

Hence, it is not dedicated to the attack role

Lets not even mention the fact that it carries less munitions than the Rooivalk, and in general has poor performance standards

Most airforces in this world don't want a single role attack only dedicated helicopter like Rooicalk, and those air forces are more powerful than South African airforce. Mighty Ethiopian and Braziliian air forces are some of them, they fly only multi-role combat helicopters combining attack with transport like Mi-35 Hind. However, during attack mission most Hinds do not carry troops, they operate in attack mode only.

Mi-35M of Nigeria carries 2,500 kg of weapons, Rooivalk of SAAF carries only 1,500 kg of weapons.

Also the Mi-35M carries guided bombs, bigger 30mm gun, and 20km range rockets....All those are missing on your inferior Rooivalks.

Nigeria has Africa's most powerful combat helicopter fleet today !

2. SAS Drakensberg is a supply vessel - well done, you scared off a logistics vessel. Must be deseperate to brag about that.
3. You have no Su-30's, and the Valour Class will eat Alpha jets for breakfast
Valour frigate CANNOT harm Alpha jets flying at 12 km above sea level, but the Alpha jet will b.omb Valour frigates to kingdom come sea bottom. I proved that to @Andrewza last year, don't play with that fire again, it disgraced your over-priced warships.

One Alpha jet will sink ALL four Valour frigates in one day !

FighterPilot: DO YOU MEAN YOUR 40 NEW IMAGINERY GUNSHIPS? MAJORITY OF YOUR HELICOPTERS WERE INOPERABLE, SO DID I HAD TO REMIND YOU?

ROLANDS RADAR SYSTEM IS THE WEAKEST RADAR ON MOTHER EARTH TO BE JAMMED. ONCE IT IS JAMMED IT CAN ONLY BE OPERATED MANUALLY AND THE WORST OF ALL, ONLY DURING THE DAY THROUGH ITS OPTICAL SIGHTS. SURELY THAT WILL NEED A BROUGHT DAY LIGHT TO ENABLE YOU TO AIM AT THE LOW FLYING AITCRAFTS WHICH WILL SOMETIMETIMES BE MUCH FASTER THAN YOU. YOUR ROLAND WILL ONLY GIVE YOU MORE PROBLEMS MY FRIEND.
Roland SAM optical targeting system works perfectly at night with infra red capability.....

"The ROLAND 2 weapon system is intended for anti-aircraft defence of armoured and mechanized the units to counter aircraft flying to nearly Mach 1.5 and hovering helicopters. Deployed on a tracked vehicle derived from the tank AMX 30, it comprises a radar with a range of 16 km, a sighting tube with an infra-red locator that measures the difference between the missile in flight and the line of sight of the fire control radar, and a computer antenna for remote control. Two arm-beams for launching carry each one a missile in its launching tube, and two ammunition stores for munitions each contain one 4 shot mechanism forautomatic unloading of the arm-beam. The crew of the vehicle consists of three man. commands necessary to the correction by the real variations of the missile compared to the axis of aiming measured by the infra-red goniometer (optical mode) , or compared to the direction of the target the commands are transmitted to the missile by the transmitter of remote control."

http://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/row/roland.htm

The speed of Roland missile is 1,600 km/hr and 5 times faster than Rooivalk speed of 300 km/hr .

Dude, we have spent months on this Roland matter since last year, I won't waste my precious time repeating old story.

Nigeria's 300 Roland missiles will sh.oot down ALL South African air force in 5 minutes, that fact remains on record.

CASE CLOSED !

FighterPilot: GRANDFATHER ROLAND CANNOT PERFORM AT NIGHT. HE IS OUTDATED AND HIS RADAR CAN BE JAMMED VERY EASILY WITH EW.
Roland SAM has radar, and radar works day and night, or else your SAAF air force radars too don't work at night. Equation balanced grin

Roland electro-optics works at night and you cannot jam optical sight.

NATO jets could not jam Roland radar every time they met, the British jets get sh.ot down in war records we all know .

SAAF will have to face NAF if you want to launch Mokopa anti-tank missile, we can have helicopter air war for show !

South Africa = 10 Rooivalk combat helicopters = total 10 units

Nigeria = 30 current + 40 new combat helicopters = total 70 units

Sure your Rooivalks will be sh.ot down in the air before they even find any Nigerian tank....we will waste your Mokopa before you launch it !

I have not even used F-7 jets yet !
