Polaris is recalling the 2015-2018 Slingshot models in the United States. The recall is due to a seat assembly problem that affects approximately 24,000 units. The problem arose from the improper welding of the bracket anchoring the seat belt and seat back. “If the seat slides unexpectedly, this may increase the risk of a loss of control, or the risk of injury in the event of a crash. If the seat belt buckle and seat back dislodge from the seat base, this may increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash,” Polaris said In 2015, the same vehicle was recalled for a possible steering rack fault and later that same year, 10,000 examples were recalled over faulty headlights. https://autojosh.com/polaris-slingshot-2/

Telling apart a diesel powered car from petrol powered car is easy when you know exactly what to do. As an individual knowledgeable in things related to automobile, you should know this. In this part of the world, petrol cars dominate diesel cars; be it as it may, no knowledge is a waste. Below are the various 4 ways you can tell petrol cars apart from diesel cars. 1. The sound from the car: Petrol powered cars produce smoother sound when compared to diesel cars. The sound from the diesel engine is somewhat unpleasant. Sounds more like a tractor. You will hear a rattling sound when a diesel car is idling and this becomes raspier when you start driving it. Recent technologies in diesel engines have curbed this. Most recent diesel engines don’t make such noise. https://i64.tinypic.com/103xteo.jpg 2. The fuel cap label: Diesel powered cars would usually come with a label reading ‘Diesel Fuel Only’ or ‘Diesel’ inside their fuel doors. This alone will tell you it’s a diesel car. Cars that run on fuel do have ‘Gasoline Only’ written on their fuel door. https://i66.tinypic.com/fp7cw.jpg 3. The model name: There could be a clue in the model name of the car. It is yet another easy way to identify a diesel car. A diesel powered car is likely to come with the letter ‘D’ in its model name. For example, if you see a car that has BMW 320d or Lexus IS 220d, the ‘D’ tells you it is a diesel powered car. https://i64.tinypic.com/242sq3o.jpg 4. Peep into the engine: Diesel cars have no spark plugs. The pressure from compression of diesel and air is enough to give them the ignition that a spark plug would do for petrol engine. https://i66.tinypic.com/28tko01.jpg Diesel Vs Petrol engine, which do you prefer? https://autojosh.com/diesel-cars-and-petrol-cars-differences/ |
The Benz G Wagon is not the only SUV that has remained unchanged for so long. The Lada Niva has also been wearing this same look for over 40 years since 1977. If you don't remember this SUV on our Nigerian roads from back in the days, then you may not remember the glory the first generation Range Rover and third generation Nissan Patrol once had. This Russian SUV is one of the most basic SUV you can get today. To spice things up, the 2018 Lada Niva now comes with a military camo paint option which civilians can't drive in Nigeria no matter how much we love it. This off-roader comes with a starting price of N3.3m ($9,200). I'd love to own one but I don't even have the liver to wear a camo trouser at a Lagos bus stop https://autojosh.com/2018-lada-niva-camo/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

Road traffic signs serve several purposes: some road signs are placed on roads to point out directions to motorists; some are placed there to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians; some are there to give us an idea of what to expect ahead of us, etc. Technically, road signs are traffic languages. They communicate specific messages to motorists and pedestrians. Every motorists – and in some cases, pedestrians – are expected to have an understanding of what these signs represents. It is because of this that the teaching of road traffic signs and their meanings are an essential topic taught at driving schools. Unfortunately, most motorists in Nigeria did not pass through formal driving schools. Road signs are typically represented as symbols or annotations. In Nigeria, there is an enormous lack of understanding of what these symbols used in road signs represent. And as such, it is very common in Nigeria for the authorities in charge of producing road signs to produce road signs with symbols together with their meanings spelt out on them. Anyway, Autojosh presents an explanation of 15 common road signs that most Nigerian motorists do not know their meanings. 1. PED Xing This sign is one of the most confusing road signs that motorists come across in Nigeria. However, it is better understood when represented in its pictorial form. It actually means, “Pedestrian crossing”. This sign is often placed ahead of or near zebra crossings. https://i66.tinypic.com/21devqd.jpg No Entry/ Do Not Enter This signs is used to indicate that there is no entry for vehicular traffic. It is placed at the exit of some roads to inform motorist that they cannot drive into that road. The difference is that, this signs allows a motorist to stop – to drop off or pick up a passenger, etc. Staying longer than necessary can be viewed as “waiting” or violation of the No Waiting instruction. https://i67.tinypic.com/2v3ggeu.jpg Turn On Red This sign is placed at intersections where there are traffic lights. This sign generally permits vehicles to make a right turn even when the traffic light is on red. In other words, this sign gives permission to vehicles to turn into the next junction on the right nearer to them, even when the traffic light is showing a red signal and without having to wait for a green signal. https://i64.tinypic.com/4ln5sh.jpg https://i66.tinypic.com/9tpuhj.jpg Sharp Deviation of Route or “Chevron” Sign The chevron sign is positioned to warn motorists of a suden change in traffic direction. https://i63.tinypic.com/10pd8pw.jpg Your car rims and tyres are both essential parts of your car. They bear the weight of the whole engineering in your car. They are the only part of your car which makes contact with the road; as such, care should be taken when it comes to rims and tyres. Replica or fake rims can be catastrophic. Some rims are bound to shatter when they are confronted by heavy impacts and large torque input. The rims susceptible to this are not good rims. Replica or fake rims lack the proper strength within the production material, and they are not well engineered. Flee from fake and replica rims. Always make do with OEM quality rims or better still, use the factory fitted rims your car came with. OEM quality rims can be expensive though; but you can’t throw away your safety all in the name of getting cheaper products just like the fake or replica rims. It is highly recommended you pay for quality. Remember, you may not live to tell your stories. But this is a result of centuries of evolution. These images gives a very slight peek at some of that evolution. 1.The First Production Electric Car Built by English genius Thomas Parker around 1884.This image leaves me confused anytime I see it.If we had electric cars that early, why do cars still run on fuel ?. https://i67.tinypic.com/29wl98o.jpg 2.Early GPS 1932 https://i64.tinypic.com/2j4o8ye.jpg https://i67.tinypic.com/2rnzbb6.jpg 3.This Is What Baby Seats Looked Like https://i63.tinypic.com/2cqnnlw.jpg 4.Church On Wheels In The Early 1900s https://i66.tinypic.com/j9nfoh.jpg 5.Vehicles Used To Have Shovels To Minimize Injuries In Case Of Accidents https://i68.tinypic.com/2ns4a34.jpg 6.Amphibious Bikes It was called the Cyclomer. It was quite popular in 1932.It was the first ever of its kind. https://i68.tinypic.com/vosw9v.jpg 7.One Wheel Motorcycle Ha ! https://i68.tinypic.com/2e17si8.jpg 8.All Terrain Vehicle It looks really badass for 1936.It could make a descent on slopes of up to 60 degrees !! https://i65.tinypic.com/2gudpo9.jpg 9.The Great Grand Father Of Autonomous Vehicles The Terregator(Terrestial Navigator), was built by folks at Carnegie Mellon University(CMU).Its practically the first ever driverless vehicle. https://i67.tinypic.com/2v9u7hs.png 10.First Mass Produced Modern EV -GM EV1 General Motors built just 1117 units of the EV1 from 1996-1999.It had a range between 112-160Km .It wasn’t also doing bad with 137hp and a top speed of 129Km/h. https://i63.tinypic.com/e8vk9k.jpg What do you think ? Are you curious as to who invented the seat belt used in all today's vehicles? The Swedish car manufacturer Volvo had begun seeking enhancements to seat belts since mid-twentieth century. At the beginning, the company experimented with a single strap over the belly but sadly, abdominal injuries were still unavoidable in high-speed collisions. More than that, Volvo's engineers also tried a diagonal chest restraint yet, it beheaded crash-test dummies. Afterwards, the Swedish marque turned to Nils Bohlin – a 38-year-old engineer who had developed Saab aircraft company’s pilot ejector seats. Since passengers in cars want both safety and comfort, transferring aerospace tech to automobile would be a demanding task, according to Bohlin. However, after a year of experimentation and research, he achieved a significant breakthrough - the most effective safety device ever – "the 3-Point Seat Belt" which includes one strap across the hips and another across the chest, each tied up at the same point. This kind of seat belt was so straightforward that driver and occupants were able to fasten with one hand. Volvo then made the new seat belt design patent open in the interest of safety and made it available to other car manufacturers for free. About 60 years on after its invention in 1959, we cannot count exactly how many lives Nils' 3-Point Seat Belts have saved but we are certain it runs into millions of lives. Have you ever been saved by the 3-point seat belt of your car? Tell us in the comment section. https://autojosh.com/the-origin-of-3-point-seat-belts/

heendrix The choice is solely yours. The three cars are excellent, however, I will mention a few factors you may want to consider before making your final decision. Fuel Economy: The Corolla has the best fuel economy while the Accord usually gets the worst. Maintenance Cost: The Corolla usually has the lowest cost of maintenance while the Accord usually gets the highest. Cabin Space: The Camry has the best cabin space and Corolla has the least but still not cramped. Beauty: Beauty is always in the eyes of the beholder. My beauty here is the Corolla Sport. Just the sport and not the CE or LE. The Corolla Sport is followed by the Accord. Interior Design and Quality: Considering similar trim levels, the Accord gets a relatively better cabin. You may also prefer that of the Corolla to the Camry especially on the lower trim levels like the "CE". Sitting position: If you don't want to feel like you are sitting on the floor when driving, then you need to run away from the Accord. The Toyotas will give you better sitting position. You'll prefer the Camry if you are tall and need some legroom when behind the wheels. Sound System: I will pick the sound system of the Toyotas over the Accord. There is a higher chance of getting speaker glitches in the Accord. Resale Value: The Corolla and Camry will give you better resale value than the Accord. Safety: The Accord and Camry have better safety rating than the Corolla. I didn't compare the purchase price because it's a little complicated. I'll just mention that the cheapest deal is not necessarily the best deal so don't let that becloud your judgement. Focus on getting the best at a reduced price rather than just going all out for the cheapest. Don't forget to do detailed inspection and VIN check. |
Artificial Intelligence is potentially more dangerous for the human species than nuclear weapons. This is according to Elon Musk, the South African-born Canadian American co-founder, CEO, and product architect of Tesla, Inc He made this remark during a tech conference at Austin, Texas, last week. This is not the first time that Musk would suggest that AI will endanger humanity. Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is the branch of science that attempts to get machines or robots to imitate human intelligence – or make machine to do those things that traditionally done by humans. Meanwhile, Neuralink, a company Elon Musk co-founded, is exploring how it can establish a connection between human brains and computers in order to cure diseases and improve our intelligence. According to Musk, he is really quite close to the cutting edge in AI and it scares the hell out of him. However, individuals like Mark Zuckerberg and Steven Pinker – a professor at Harvard – have dispelled Musk predications as “fear mongering”. They also said that his prediction are “pretty irresponsible”. In response, Musk claim that those who don’t believe his predictions are fools. “And mark my words, AI is far more dangerous than nuclear weapons. Far. So why do we have no regulatory oversight? This is insane.” Musk said. Perhaps, some recent event seem to justify Musk predictions. For instance, the recent fatal accident by Uber’s driverless car seem to lend credence to Musk’s predictions. Both Uber and Toyota immediately stopped testing these self-driving cars. https://autojosh.com/artificial-intelligence-is-dangerous-to-humanity-according-to-elon-musk/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Ishilove Marpol Semid4lyfe Obinoscopy Seun

The new RAV4 remains true to its impressive heritage as the original pioneer of the SUV segment, making significant advances in powertrain technologies, dynamic performance, intelligent safety provisions and all-round quality. The robust styling of the new RAV4 expresses the robust and capable qualities that define Toyota’s approach to the latest iteration of the most sold SUV in the world. An increased ground clearance and wider stance are clear signifiers of the RAV4’s robust character. The design communicates “go anywhere” sense of fun and adventure that RAV4 ownership can bring, resonating with a target customer base of young families who enjoy life, whether moving around town or heading off to enjoy, sports, leisure or simple sight-seeing in the wide open spaces. Manoeuvrability has always been a virtue of the RAV4 and this has not been compromised in the new design. In fact, at 4,600 mm long, the new model is only marginally different in length compared to the current model. But while reductions have been made in the front and rear overhangs, 30 mm have been added to the wheelbase, allowing for an even more spacious and comfortable cabin. Luggage space has been increased, too, and has versatility designed-in with folding rear seats, a double load floor and deck side nets. Vehicle width has been increased by 10 mm, to 1,855 mm, which translates into more comfortable and spacious cabin for the occupants. Innovations in powertrain technologies and driving dynamics The new RAV4 will be available with two TNGA powertrains, both more fuel efficient and powerful than those deployed in the current RAV4. A new Hybrid electric 2.5-litre powertrain combines fuel and emissions efficiency and quiet operation with more power and greater responsiveness. A new 2.0-litre petrol engine will also be available, with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions. The 2019 Toyota Rav4 should go on sale in Nigeria early next year and the starting price is expected to be in the range of N22m. What do you think about the ride? Tell us in the comment section. https://autojosh.com/2019-toyota-rav4-unveiled-photos-details-and-price/
