I don't know what the government at the centre is driving at? What is their contention in the decentralized security issue? If each of the states of a region or geopolitical zone form a security outfit, it would have amounted to a regional security organization and achieve the same objectives as a regional security network. Giving that the respective states would still be coordinating their operations without breaking any law. So, can someone explain to me the reason behind Abuja's insistence on state and not regional security concept? |

Very interesting. But new generation pastors and jewish followers grow in their numbers within months and in a couple of years, so, where are the followers of these islamic men in Igboland decades after their conversation to islam? |

rolams: At the bolded, yes? Nigeria's legal system is rooted in the common law system. Although rare, there are instances where the House of Lords (UK Supreme Court ) departed from its own ruling. It will not be unprecedented if it happen in Nigeria. 2 Likes |

Deserves an applause!! Yes, there is state sovereignty but it is not absolute in international law. Countries can also be policed to ensure compliance with human rights. Denying people the right to express their will is a gross violation of human rights regardless of the party that stands to benefit from such a fraud. 14 Likes 1 Share |

HAKYN1: Must one have to "consult" to form a connection with the other? No. The issue of regional police, its acceptance across the board, and the Yoruba deepening it to a point of no return, is unprecedented. It has by default created an inter regional alliance. There is no more room for treachery either from the SE or SW giving the dire situation in the country. Hard lesson. |

kemmylove101: You lied. But even if the SW made the first move, it should call for celebration giving that the SE would for once be assured the SW won't back away in the name of "sophisticated" politics. For the first time, the SE would have an ally in the SW on a serious national issue. |

yarimo: When did your types achieve the capacity to call a group of Igbo men illiterates? Since when? Have you forgotten that you're 40 years behind the rest of Nigeria in education? Your grammar equally depicts the illiterate that you are. 10 Likes 4 Shares |

Chasing around unarmed youths is what I cannot understand the reasoning behind it. The right to a peaceful assembly so long as it is peaceful cannot be taken away by the Nigerian police. There are urgent national security issues that should be of great concern to the APC led government than attempting to stifle a legal, legitimate and non violent agitation. 375 Likes 29 Shares |

modsfucker: He apparently looked intimidated and uncomfortable. Ayade was more in the presidential mood, enjoying the moment. Hope has not really adjusted to the recent happenings in his life; his sudden status. Gradually, he will. |

pazienza: True, prior to the creation of the old Anambra state, there was/is the Omambala river people! Their tradition manifests in their type of music (Obiligbo genre), dialect and social attitude. They are found in the 4 local govts. as you rightly mentioned. And as well as Dunukofia and parts of Njikoka and Anaocha. Parts of Enugu state are also an integral part of this Omambala river tradition; Igga, Ojjo, Asaba (not the one of Delta state) etc. Infact, what is known as Anambra state or any other one in Igboland for that matter was purely an attempt to create administrative blocks. It's got absolutely nothing to do with kinship. Otherwise, why would Orlu and Uli/Amorka be in different states? 4 Likes |

Okoroawusa: Other popular Hausa settlements those days in Onitsha includes Adophy, Uga and Barracks streets. Almost all the houses in Adophy then were owned by northerners. However, I think Umuahia boasts of the oldest Hausa settlement in the whole of the old eastern region. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Good development. What is happening is the gradual evolution of true federalism in Nigeria. Change is what no one can stop, it is constant. And history has proven it. |

Kallmerb: This is not a valid question as there is no uncontroversial source to measure the validity of any answer to that. |

Kallmerb: At the bolded is too broad a statement. To the contrary, it is what is rather causing wars around the world. 'How you worship him is totally up to you' has been misconstrued, and now is the basis of the orgy of violence around the world. ISIS, ALQAIDA, BOKO HARAM, AL SHABA have all adopted your 'how you worship is up to you' Quote me wrong. |

The whole idea of the sellers is to reform, rejig and re-callibrate the mentality of the worshippers. Agreements were reached on areas of interest of the seller. Signage and new principles of worship were adopted. Now, watch out, the kids that would be raised in this building would behave and stand out from the rest of the intolerant and violent ones around the world. Not too bad!! ' Mosque of Jesus the Son of Mary' Wow! |

NewsMuncher: Onne, Port Harcourt, and Calabar have always been East geographically and culturally. This is confirmed in all the historical accounts of the region. There is nothing like South south until Ekwueme, an Igbo man, muted the idea to Abacha as a political delineation of the minority tribes. From Onne port to Aba is 45 miles. What exactly is your problem ![]() 1 Like |

Abba people are living on the land Umu Dunukofia gave their progenitor to tap wine for them. To the contrary, Ndi Abba, are very wicked and an ungrateful lot. They are land grabbers and Chimamanda would not be allowed to use her cheap intimidating tactics on us. They have been summarily defeated in the highest court of law of the country. Why can't she allow the issue to rest? 1 Like |

Short of the overly dramatic language, what lies before us[Amotekun] is but a step in the evolution of our federalism. This [Amotekun] is an opportunity to more clearly define that federalismBola Tinubu The above excerpt is Tinubu's main position as regards Amotekun. He is a federalist and for him Amotekun would define and ignite that needed process toward federalism. All other statements there is to not alienate his Fulnani political mates. |
