KingAzubuike:

The 500th position there hangs between $4B and thereabout. Dangote is the only dollar billionaire in Nigeria. Adenuga, elumelu and co usually hang between 800- 950 million and once in a while manage to enter a billion before they drop again. Doubt those two can even be among the worlds top 2,000 because so many billionaires in their thousands are in the range of 1b - 3b.

Thanks, but your comment is not relevant to the concerns I raised.

That shows the inequality of opportunities, cronyism, frontism, favouritism, sectionalism in the Nigerian business sphere. Yes, Dangote at no. 87...And no other Nigerian in that list that ended at 500.

What does this tell you about Nigeria? Look at other countries in the list, how their billionaires arrived following one another.closely...Showing a level playing field for all. Even Adenuga is no where to be found?

Culture / Re: Chukwuemeka Eri Hosts World Eri Festival In Aguleri, 2019 by AyakaDunukofia: 6:35pm On Nov 10, 2019
Revolva:
“ERI MIGRATED FROM IGALA”
By Ayegba Abdullahi Adojoh
Dedicated to Eze Nri, Attah of Obosi, Asagba of Asaba and Olu of Warri
Igala may not be related to everyone in southeast Nigeria, especially those of Aro and/or Jewish origin but Igala is related to Nri people considering some related cultures between us. Although, some South-easterners believe that Eri/Eli was the father of all Igbo people, while some disagree with that.
But Eri, as a person, how was he related to Igala if actually he was? According to some Igbo historians, Atta, one of the sons of Eri was the founder of Igala people. But Igala was not founded by one person as it is popular that Igala settled in Wukari-Taraba state after coming from Egypt through Borno … and later migrated from Wukari to Idah.
In addition, Attah is a tittle in Igala land not a person as they said, and it means father. So, Attah Igala means Father of Igala. Thus, this version does not have any truth.
Another version said that Eri migrated from Igala area to Aguleri and later married an Igala wife who begot a son called Onoja Oboli, and that the Onoja later founded Igala. This is so cyclic and very contradictory.
If Eri migrated from Igala which was already in existence before even marrying his wife or getting a son, how come the same Igala will be founded by Onoja? This also does not hold water.
The third version said that Eri came from heaven with his wife and settled near Omabala river. He later got a child called Idah who founded Igala. Again, this is very strange to many popular world historians as Idah was just a location and not the name of person. Idah was from Ona Imuda, meaning the road has ended because the road or path they were following during their (Igala people) migration ended at the bank of river Niger and they Igala people had to settle down there. Till date, no man or ruler or Attah Igala among the royal clan had/has Idah as his name. This makes this version also false. There is another version which is still different. These inconsistence versions by Igbo historians could not provide provable facts. However, all of them point to one direction, and that is; Eri or Igbo was the father of Igala people.
But considering some similar cultures between Eri people and Igala, and which are not common btw Eri and other Igbo towns, some historians believed that Eri was Igala who left Idah and settled around Omabala river many century ago just like many other Igala people across Nigeria and beyond.
As seen in the photo, it can be seen that the Eze Nri dressed like Attah Igala, as he had Ejubejuailo (pectoral mask) on the chest. It is worthy of note here that Ejubejuailo is worn by Attah Igala and no other traditional leader in the entire world. It was taken by Igala soldiers from the Oba of Benin in 1515 during our first war with them. So, how come the Eze Nri dressed (in 1944) like Attah Igala if he was not of Igala? Recall that many Igala communities outside Kogi state have traditional titles like Attah (eg Attah of Obosi), Agaba Idu, Idu, Akor, Okakwu, Okpala, etc while some dress like Attah Igala to show their Igala identity.
From available information, it was stated that the burial of any late Eze Nri is similar or related to that of Attah Igala including the Atebo/Atama of Igala and Adama of Eri side.
But that is not all, according to Mr Lawton in 1917, “The Nris are of Igara [Igala] stock, extended themselves southward from Idah”. “Practically all the towns north of the Onitsha-Akwa road are Nri- including Nteje, Umuleri and Aguleri”. In the Awka Division, Akwuju, Igbariam and Amanuke, Orumebo, Oreri are Nris”
In 1955, an Aguleri man, M. C. M. Idigo stated that “The Aguleri people originated from Igara [Igala] and migrated to their present area about 3 or 4 centuries ago. The leader Eri, a warrior, took his people on a war expedition, and after long travel and many fights, established his camp at Eri-aka, near Odanduli stream, a place which lies between Ifite and Igbezunu Aguleri. Eri, with his soldiers, went out regularly from his settlement to Urada, Nnadi and other surrounding towns on war raids and captured many of the inhabitants. These were the Ibo-speaking people and by mixing with them and inter-marriage, the immigrants adopted the language”.
In 1960, J. S. Boston stated that “The northern Umunri villages say that the clan was founded by a man called Eri who came to the Anambra area from Igala country and settled at the Aguleri…”
Conclusion: From the above points especially that of the Nri descendant, M. C. M. Idigo, I will join my mouth with them to say that “ERI MIGRATED FROM IGALA”. That is, Eri was Igala who migrated from Idah just like many other Igala people across the 28 states of Nigeria. .. and do you know what, our reconnection will take place soon. God bless Igala Kingdom.

Alright, good. What's all these got to do with a cultural celebration in Igboland?

Igalas are free to join the celebration or organise theirs and invite diginitaries. However, this celebration is basically an Igbo thing. Peeping from outside and swallowing saliva is not a healthy habit.

Vice president is not really different from Buhari on championing his ethnic course

Look at the list of aides to vice president of a country dominated by one ethnic group

So both him and his master are birds of same feathers

So from today if you blaming buhari from sidelining other , Osibanjo is also doing the same

He promotes his own oligarchy.

What a country...

That is the mirror of Osinbajo's personality that you do not know. It is obvious there's nothing like one Nigeria. Everyone waits for his or her turn to bring out his disdain for those who do not share his primitive cultural traits. That's it.

Why the blame on Buhari all the time??

Of late, so many iddiots are controlling the affairs of Nigeria!

Is security not a part of the principles of the rule of law? Security is an off spring of the rule of law. The agencies that are in charge of security of a country are empowered by the doctrine of the rule of law, just as human rights is a substantive form of the rule of law.

To be honest, this contraption needs a total overhaul.

Chimamamda's community is overstretching the privileges granted them by Umudunukofia. Her ancestor, Abamulu, was a wine tapper from Ichida who was contracted to tap wine for the Dunukofia clan. This was 350 years ago. A piece of land was given to him to settle and do his business. He later got married to a lady from Abagana and settled permanently, expanded to what is known as Abba community today. Then, they began land grabbing.

Umudunukofia defeated them in a landmark legal battle presided by the highly learned judge, Obiora Nwazota at the Enugu High Court in 1999. A ruling the Supreme court of Nigeria upheld earlier this year. I don't know why Abba community would continue this dance of shame. They should learn to respect their host community.

The Supreme court cannot depart from its own ruling. Dunukofia will make a case of nolle prosequi if Abba should resuscitate a settle matter.

Your argument does not still answer the question why a major ethnic group as Igbo is continuosly conspired against, pushed out of the top echelon of the governance of a country by a particular tribe the same Igbo open heartedly waited for three years to make up their minds to be a partner in the Nigerian project.

St. Simons, Georgia has been a sight of unusual events since centuries. It was at the same spot that 75 Igbo slaves on board a slave ship from what is now known as Nigeria, took the captain of the ship and the entire crew hostage, drowned them and committed mass suicide themselves.

Ukwuani is only found in Delta State and they're not even real Igbos sef
Superiority of a race comes with human capital development. In Nigeria, Igbos and Yoruba tops the list in Education. Racial superiority comes with creativity and innovation. Igbos have an unassailable lead in these. Racial superiority comes with industriousness. The Igbo, comparably, is not lacking in that. Racial superiority comes with good physical attributes as the white Aryan race wont to say. The majority of the Igbo are...I won't bother to go that line.

So Mr Superior, I am IGBO. Who are you and outline in which areas your ethnic group is less inferior; superior to the Igbo? Deal with it; ndi Ukwuani have a stake in Bayelsa.

It's a win win for Umahi.

This is the governor's thinking (has some economic basis with a dose of emotional reasons).

All things being equal, construction work and all public works have great multiplier effects on the economy as this entails a huge cash inflow into the system plus many people are employed as the project lasts and opportunities for training abound.

You will notice that the massive construction works in the state have been a great stimulus to the economy of Ebonyi state.

The construction of multiple flyovers is a more emotional project. In the governor's words, he wants to tell the rest of the nation....especially nde ijekebee that Ebonyi people are not as backward as they keep saying... He mentioned the flyover in Abakaliki/ Afikpo road as one that was designed to confuse and confound the people who look down on Ebonyi people.

His companies do the jobs. He massages the people's ego, makes lots of money and is praised for a good job.
He wins on all fronts

Can't you guys make a comment without being divisive and clannish...Yet he named the project after onye ijekebee. That shows your sentiments are not shared at the top?

Nigeria spent hundreds of millions of dollars to aid the ANC's political and military wing (Unkontowesiswe) in the 70s and 80s.
Oliver Thambo was always in Lagos seeking financial assistance for the movement.

Nelson Mandela's last refuge before he returned to South Africa to face trial, was in Lagos. He was sleeping at Rt. Hon. Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe's official residence. Zik later asked Dr. Mbazulike Amaechi, the then aviation minister to create a space for Mandela in his guest quarters. It was from Amaechi's house precisely that he returned home.
