Dangote will be one of the people that will crush the dream of Railway because by the time nigeria Rail corp is fully operational n people are shifting to railways dangote wont be able to sell enough truck to Nigeria anymore n this will gradually affect his Sinotruck Dangote trucks.

to stop that from happening,Dangote n co would try every inch of their power to frustrate railway corp.

ok just saying...i like his initiatives sha.

one guy up their just called him minister of everything! lol that really cracked me up.

railway dream i think cant be crushed by capitalists except the government. once opon a time rail was vibrant in dis country; was it killed by dangote? no, but government negligence. and again trucks would be used to convey goods within states and local governments. so d importance of trucks in goods transportation cannot be underestimated

Rawlings was able to do that because;
1. Ghana was/is about the size of Lagos in population.
2. Ghana have few ethnic groups compared to Nigeria.
3. Nigeria is more corrupt than Ghana and we are seriously divided along religious and ethnic lines. That Rawlings' approach would fail in Nigeria woefully.

I partially support the Biafra movement, though they ought to have agitated more when President Jonathan was at the helms of affairs.

The injustice done to Nigeria by a selected polithiefcians should and must not be allowed to go on. All hands must be on deck to check this madness. The north has so much subdue the south and the unity of Nigeria favours the north more than the south.

The south should wakeup. We are still sleeping.

Education / Nigerian Students And The Illusion Of The Degree Doesn’t Matter by aybabz101: 11:02am On Sep 03, 2016
One of the fundamental reasons we attend academic institutions is basically to acquire knowledge about a particular profession or interest in life. This is defined in the differences in our various career pursuits in the universities, polytechnic, colleges of educations and technical schools. Each of these institutions evaluates the knowledge acquired by her students through examinations-either written, oral or both. These examinations are graded base on the proximity of individual performances to the maximum percentage. This process is successively repeated through a period of time-usually greater than three years depending on the institution and course of study-averaged and cumulated into a class of degree we are familiar with. Although I am a study believer that the current examination process-which involve mostly written examination-might not be the best method to test students’ knowledge, but so far, it’s the most accurate yard stick to test students’ knowledge all over the world. As a student, to underrate this important process, I believe is suicidal.
Truth be told, there is a factual bridge between knowledge and education. But knowledge is never an alien to education; the two walks hand in hand. I have met with different class graduates, from first class degree holders to second class and third class students. Unfortunately, I haven’t met a pass degree holder. With my various conversations with these students, I noticed that most of the students with average degree tend to excuse themselves with reasons like “baba the certificate no matter ooo na your hustle sure pass”. Then they say “see, Bill gates, Steve jobs, Mark Zuckerberg etc. drop out from school oooo; they are one the most successful people on earth today”. What they said is not totally wrong but a flamboyant excuse for their underperformances in the university. I also believe these obnoxious excuses are birth from their disappointments and social frustrations associated with their class of degree coupled with segregation of their class of degree by employers of labour.
Let’s take a logical look into the life of the two most popular college drop outs today-Bill gates and Mark Zuckerberg cofounder of Microsoft and Facebook respectively. Bill was a student of one of the best universities in the world, Harvard University. He was a brilliant person right from childhood. He was exposed to one of the rarest opportunities of his time in the 60’s and 70’s-access to computer from his high school at lakeside through to his university. Bill was a very skillful programmer right from his high school. As a teenager, bill has begun to write software for big companies like ISI (Information Sciences Inc.) and TRW. As an undergraduate at Harvard, Bill and Paul Allen wrote the operating system code for one of the first portable computers in the world, the Altair 8800. Both Bill and Paul later signed a big money deal with IBM computers which finally close the door to the completion of his Harvard degree. As an undergraduate at Harvard bill dropped in on courses that interest him the most and did very well in those courses. From bills female colleague “Bill sleeps most of the time in class and still have his B”. Bill gates was not in anyways a below average student as portrayed by many undergraduates. In fact Bill gates was an excellent one. He had a perfect 1590 out of 1600 in his SAT.
As for Mark, he has been an excellent programmer right from childhood. As a young lad, his father employed a private tutor to take him in programming. Mark was an excellent student from his high school-a frequent academic prize scooper at Ardsley and Philips Exeter high school-through to his Harvard days. As a matter of fact, Mark was well recognized as a programming prodigy at Harvard. Mark dropped out of Harvard after successfully marketing the Facebook-majorly through Peter Thiel investment. My questions are, how many of our undergraduates have built or are building their own business to warrant the petty accolade associated with the degree today? How many have ever signed a big money deal with big firms such as the oil and telecommunication industries? I will say none. Why compare yourselves with limited resources and skills to far away people who worked hard to succeed financially as undergraduates? Why belittle the importance of degree?
I’m not advocating that a good degree automatically guarantees you financial or professional success, but that it does open the door of opportunities for you at least as a job seeker. As far as I know, the best prizes and scholarships from individuals, alumni associations, big firms, school authorities etc. always go to students who are academically excellent or at least are good enough. Why don’t you work very hard for a good degree at least to build a fortress for yourself against all form of disadvantages associated with poor degrees? It is a common believe that skill(s) is not directly proportional to the class of degree. This of course is true but arguable. With my little experience, I can say that most graduates with good class of degree are also equipped with the necessary skills in their various fields. So, I am against the notion that most of the graduates with lower class of degree are better equipped skillfully than graduates with good class of degree. But let’s assume that all graduates with lower degrees are more skillful than those of good degrees, what is the benefit of one being skillful but not opportune to showcase his skills? In todays’ Nigeria, most vacancies require for degree classes not lower than a second class-mostly upper. What is the use of a skillful individual with a middling or poor degree who can’t even apply for his loved profession talk less of being called for interview to showcase his skill(s)?
In conclusion, I know for sure that good degrees do not hand you the tittle of the richest man in the world, the best inventor, the best writer, a world renowned speaker, the best artist etc. But that all the people associated with these titles are hardworking people who refuse to swim in the pool of their shortcomings. I believe that if Nigerian undergraduates give their all to their studies, the lowest graduate should come out with at least a second class lower degree which I believe is a good enough class of degree-at least average. Most undergraduates should do away with the idea that degree is not that important because the degree is a reflection of at least four years of your life depending on your course of study.

Education / What Is D Difference Between Fact And Truth? by aybabz101: 9:23pm On Jul 15, 2016
An argument ensued today between i and my friends about the difference between fact and the truth. Even after checking the phone dictionary, we were still not satisfied. But we both agree dat there is a diffetence between fact and truth.

My stance is dat fact is a proven and an established event. While truth is a circumstantial event. For example, jesus is our lord and saviour- dis is d truth to only christians but not to other religion but the fact is dat jesus walks the surface of the earth. Dat jesus walks d surface of the earth is a generally accepted fact to all.

But according to some of my friends, truth is not circumstantial. Dat truth is d reality of an event; the actual correctness of an event. While fact is circumstantial and can be subjected to further correctness.

So over to you oooo. Wetin una think?

Politics / Irony Of The Igbo Marginalization Theory. by aybabz101: 3:52pm On Jul 11, 2016
An okada man who is an igbo man was to take me from omisanjana street to odo-ado street Ado-Ekiti. unfortunately his okada broke down along the way-little away from the road that leads to ekute quarters. We got down from the okada n i told him to let us take it to a nearby okada mechanic. His responce was shocking to me. He said he would take his okada to his igbo brother, a mechanic. I asked him where? He said a little far from here. I asked him how? He said he would wave to other okada men (majorly yorubas ) to tow him down to the place. I was like WTF! going through all these when an okada mechanic is over there. i asked him what is wrong with the (yoruba) mechanic over there? He laughed n said nothing is wrong with him just that he likes his igbo brothers (if he had said that d yoruba mechanic is not good enough, i would have reason with him). i left very disappointed at dis particular igbo man. This incident makes me take a closer look at the behaviour of our self proclaimed marginalized brothers.

From an average igbo man perspective, the yorubas are jelouse of them, hausas hate dem, the middle belt people dislike them, the Edos detest dem. All they could see is dat they are hated by other tribes but never think that something might be wrong wit dem if truly the whole nigeria except an igbo hates the igbo man. Even their so called partners (the south southerners) are dissociating demselves from u guys. d question is: who is d problem?

I dont know about any other tribe, but i must confess to u guys dat we the yorubas love you.we've always do and we will forever love you. in yoruba land, many of ur children attended UI, OAU, FUTA, UNILAG,EKSU etc contested for political posts, from departmental to faculty to SUG level and in some occasions, won. Most of the Pioneer top university officials of FUOYE are igbos- starting from the VC Professor Chinedu Nebo.
The current chairman of my street is an igbo man. He was also the former Secretary/accountant/treasurer. Igbos in one way or another are represented in one social-political-association key positions in d SW. They are even voted into state house of assemblies, as senators and honourables to represent d yorubas at d federal level. They even enjoy chieftaincy titles.

The most annoying fact is dat most of these things enjoyed by them in d SW are not reciprocated to d yorubas in d SE. I can bet all i have dat no yoruba man is near to d post of a street chairman (except of course he is very rich) talkless of political post in d SE. "Dey never born d yoruba man wey go think to contest for d post of an ordinary counselor talkless of a whole senator. Even in their accademic institutions as a student; to contest na dont even try am." as said by a friend based in Onisha. My question is who is marginalizing who?

Once upon a time in d political history of this country, igbos were a major force to reckon wit. They were vibrant and popular in major sectors including the nigerian military. In fact d firt coup in dis country was carried out by the igbos. But now, they claimed to have been marginalized political, socially even from the civil service. d thing is, what change? Democracy came in. There is no more have it by force. U have to be popular to have it now.
One thing i want my igbo brothers to understand is dat Nigeria is a multi-ethnic country. You guys are 18%, yorubas 21% and d hausas 30%. Others made up d remaining 31%. 18% cant vote out 82% . Dis is democracy for crying out loud-majority carry d vote. You guys should form alliances wit other tribes. If u detest d yorubas dat much, form a formidable partnership with d middle belt who to a reasonable extent repel d hausas influence. Partner wit d Edo people and superglue ur cracked relationship wit d urobos, ibibios and other tribes in the SS. you can even challenge for d minorities in d north e.g the hausa-christians. Jonathan was voted in with a landslide. Oga buari has been consistently contesting for d presidential seat since 101BC. Even when d whole almajiris voted for him under d flagship of CPC. Jona defeated him hands down. his dream came true after he formed a good alliance with d SW. So wetin b una excuse? Rochas is doing his best to make dis happen under the flagship of APC; he suddenly became the public enemy no.1 of the igbos. My question is how will an igbo man become president if you dont want anything to with d hausas, yorubas, tivs, igbiras, igalas,Edos etc?

To d best of my knowledge, i think you-d igbos are d people marginalizing yourselves from this country and not the other way round.

lastly, please leave out d yorubas from ur socio-political problems. Yorubas are also a minority like you in dis country.we are just 21%. we are dis big because we are smart enough to open our eyes vividly to see real things and not fictions so as to adjust our default settings to solutions to our reality at every fucking time.
I beleive you urselves know dat dat d best ethnic group for u in dis country is d yorubas. And i am very sure dat all of una love us-una just dey pretend so say d opposite. It is the two us of dat can co-exist d best in dis country. So make all of una stop the hypocrisy ooooooo. Jst my observations.

very surprise to see dis thread!
i cant believe a well informed/educates nigerian or individual anywhere in d world can ask dis unrasonable question.

And i have to believe dat d opp knows very little or nothing about evonomics or just a tribal bigot.

If d opp is talking from foreign exchange perspective, cocoa, cotton, rubber, yam, gold generates d highest foreign exchange for the country after the oil sector wc are produced in large quantities in d SW of which SE produces majorly palm kernels n other palm related products wc are also produced in SW. after d SS, d SW produces d highest amount of dollars for ur pple to import fake/hazardous products into d country.

if d opp is talking from d perspective of income generation for d government in terms of taxation n commerce, d SW is d no. one in Nigeria
the major indigenous companies in d country are owned mostly by SW. most commercila banks, indegenous oil companies, telecommunications company, IT companies are owned n controlled by SWesteners which generates revenues for d government in form.of taxes.

d busiest airport n seaports in d country is located in d SW wc generate more money for d government dan any other ports in d country.

most indegenous n foreign companies alike are located in d SW of which d government do tax.

SE contributes almost nothing to foreign exchange in dis country.

most of d petty commercial activities by d igbos in lagos n neighboring SW states contributes almost nothing to d government. how many igbo shops do d government tax?

most of ur contributions to dis contry comes from only from importation which are made possible by d foreign exchange earned by d SS n SW respectively.

n d fact is if there are no igbos to trade on SW yorubas n other ethnic groups will dod trading.

n note dat not only igbos import stuff in dis country. most things imported into d country by d igbos are substandard.........fake things.

i have to admit dat u guys are hardworking ppl but dont think for once dat without u guys Lagos wont b d lagos we know 2day. yorubas will do their trading demselves if u did not exist.

Foreign Affairs / Re: See What Americans Are Saying On Muslim Ban In The US - Cramjones by aybabz101: 10:17pm On Dec 08, 2015
harristo:

Most muslims will disagree with the bold.
We've established that the Bible can be abused like the Koran to perpetrate acts of violence and others. And like you pointed out, most people including me can convincingly disprove claims made by abusers. And this is what most Muslims who try to defend Islam against abusers try to do.

I don't know much about the teachings of Islam or the content of the Koran, but the Muslims I've seen defending Islam always say their prophet taught peace.

I think this is how it went down (from what I've read). At the beginning, the prophet mohammed weighed war to conquer lands and make more people accept the teachings of Islam. Then he passed on the teachings in written form (the Koran). And this teaching, a peaceful one, is what Muslims are suppose to follow. Those who are trying to weigh war in the name of following prophet mohammed are simply abusing Islam's history.

And I said the same thing happened in christianity. At the onset, as seen in the old testament, wars were fought, people were killed. Then Jesus came and gave us a message of peace and love, followed by his apostles. People still abuse the old testament teachings and stories today.

At the beginning, the prophet mohammed weighed war to conquer lands and make more people accept the teachings of Islam

christianity simply means christ-like. i.e xtians follow christ's actions. my point here is simple what mohammed did is propotional to terrorism. n dat is wat his rafical followers are doing today because dey believe dat everytin he did was sactioned by God.

if jesus had waged war during his life time, believe me 'radical xtians' will also follow his footstep.

the point here is nt abt GOD, it is abt christianity n islam founded by jesus n mohammed respectively. the bible n koran are jst story books jst follow the actions of there various role models( the main actors) n judge.

Guy wake up the same thing that happened in Islam's history also happened in Christian's.
The christian history is also one that's filled with repeated war and violence.

If you look at the old testament in the Bible you will see God leading people to war against their neighbor who were judged to be sinners and deserving to be killed.

Do you know how many thousand's of people God's people in the Bible killed.
But we as christians are taught that Jesus came to give us a new law, a new way to follow, one that isn't about violence.

And I believe that Islamic religion is the same. Just as christians are asked to live by the teaching of Jesus and not to emulate the action of old testament warring folks whose main task was to plunder, kill and plunder, the muslims are admonished to follow the teachings of prophet mohammed which is a way of peace.

And just as someone or group of people like America can come wage war in the name of following the Bible's teachings in the old testament thereby abusing the Bible, so also someone or group can kill and take likes in the name of following the Koran's teaching, when the Koran actually didn't teach them to do such.

guy understand xtianity n islam first. in those days, the dominant religeon was the jewish religeon-which was d believe in one God. most events in d old testament almost correspond to mst events in d quran. evrytin changes with the miraculous conception of jesus christ and the sudden call of mohamed by God. the preaching and the teachings of jesus is the basis of xtianity while d teachings and preaching of mohammed is d basis of islam. nw d questions is "does terrorism correspond to d teachings and practices of mohammed?" frm my personal knowledge, the answer is YES.

during the dark ages in europe. the church took advantage of xtian populatn n enslave dem. some educated xtians stood up n fight d church with the preavhing n teachings of jesus. dis cant b said abt islam. the killings by 'radical' muslims ar perfectly justified by the teachings and action of mohammed.

nb....i'm a free person.....free from religeon....but i will tell u dis..i logically hate everytin abt islam. hw they dress, their behaviour, the way they interact, there preachings agaist civilizatn, thr relatnship with other religeon, thr traditns, marriages etc they ar nt jst ma tin.
