funkybaby:It definitely does work (especially 4 years ago!), before the recent bills they are introducing shortly, an assylum seeker can be married to Irish citizen and be allowed to reside in Ireland once the marriage is done legally. A cousin of mine who was married to an Irish years ago divorced her after getting his Irish passport, he illegally brought his fiancee in Nigeria in and she went to seek assylum, few weeks after they got married, she withdrew her application for assylum and applied for legal stay as a legally married wife of an Irish citizen and she was given legal residence as a spouse of Irish citizen, it took a while though but while waiting for the paper one can never be deported. Its not that easy though especially these days but it works, its just that awon omo yen ti gbo won mo reason ti awon boys fi nfe won and they can make it almost impossible unlike in those days, i think the bill has not been passed to law which states that an assylum seeker can not get married in Ireland. @ poster dont wait to be deported if you can buy yr ticket, if u have a passport nothing is stamped on yr passport at the airport while leaving Ireland afterall u are going to yr country they have no problem with that and i wonder why u'll have problem with immigration in Nigeria except you want to tell them that u are a failed assylum seeker and why will you do that? simply tell them u lost yr passport , and while waiting for lawyer's intervention please watch your back, becareful with going to sign anyday at the gardai station can be yr last in Ireland and to ba possible ma gbe ibi ti won mo pe ongbe otherwise they can just come in and u are gone. Since the letter has been issued u can be returned anyday without any notice. |
Pataki:To the best of my knowledge and of course speaking from experience he would definitely have been since he only sought assylum 4 years ago. Fingerprining of assylum seekers in Ireland has been on for a very long time, long before i arrived 5 years ago. |
Four long years! Its really sad o and its not that easy if you have nothing to go back home to but all the same its still much better and 'glorious' to buy your own ticket and return on your own. I am not sure what happens at the Airport though but still thinks leaving on your own is better than being deported. Take heart and start thinking of how to assemble the pieces of your life together back home and of course remember to transfer your cash via money transfer agency may be a day before you leave so you can collect it yourself on arrival, i no too trust, o Akolawole:Definitely since he sought assylum! funkybaby:Couldnt have been him otherwise he would not have been able to go on that his holiday trip and come back to share thoooooooooooose pictures. |
If she is not settled and keep stressing herself chances are the pregnancy may not come on time, it needs a relaxed mind and at 4 months why is she so stressed? Please tell her to take her mind off it, calculate her fertile period and have sex around that time. Its still early now, she needs not start the marriage on this note pls, she should please enjoy her honeymoon while it lasted because when the kids start arriving its another story. A bit too early to be worried ok? |

Incredible! Occultic Officials In Aviation Ministry Behind Plane Crashes In another development, former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, on Monday told the Senate committee probing the N19.5 billion scandal in the aviation sector that the air disasters recorded in 2006 were the handiwork of occult groups operating within the aviation sector.http://www.tribune.com.ng/01072008/news/news1.html NigerianTribune newspaper of today. |

A woman wanted to reach her husband on the phone but had no credit on her phone and she asked her little son to try him on his phone. The little boy came back to tell her that he tried three times and each time it was a lady that responded that he could not talk to him now. The woman was waiting impatiently for the husband and as he packed the car and got down the woman gave him 3 dirty slaps, he was wondering what was happening and within minutes people had gathered and asked the woman what could have cause that. She called on her little son and asked him to telll everyone what happened when he wanted to reach her husband on the phone and the little boy said the anty that answered daddy's phone three times said 'the subscriber is not available at the moment pls try again later' |
The arrival of gsm in Nigeria has no doubt been of great benefit to us all, but then it has also caused some katakata, if you are aware of any such katakata kindly share it here |
I was stranded at the tram station because my cc was not accepted by the machine, i spoke with one of the inspectors who decided to buy me the ticket from his purse and he did not ask what my name is. Few times i have had to stop at fuel station to inflate my tyres and had to ask guys to help me with it they usually do that and go their way. I had to change my tyre one very cold evening and asked a male passing by to help with it, because of the cold he asked me to sit in the car while he fixed the spare tyre for me, he didnt ask to know me better I had a heavy luggage sometimes and while alighting from the plane a guy offered to carry it for me out of the airport and he was ok with just thank you. I was asking a guy who was driving a space bus for direction while it was raining and despite that it wasnt his way he offered to drop me there and he didnt ask where i live. ALL these guys are foreigners. Now, i remember very well that while at home i have had to ask for similar favours from men and if they do such favour they will end with either wanting to know you better, asking where you live, where you school, your phone no and generally the next thing is they want to go out with you, infact a very close family friend who also was my teacher in the sunday school promised to help me out of a tight financial situation sometimes ago and when i went for it he told me to sleep over with him or he would not be able to help me, i had to take a 'lift' back to school and the 'good samaritan' who gave me the lift also did not go without taking my name and address so he could visit and that brought the question 'cant Nigerian men do females favour for free?' |
Why not get the info from the embassy website? Sure u'll have correct info there. |
A friend replied to this by saying 'what the f88k do i need Nigerian passport for? What favour can i get in Nigeria by holding it and what favour can i get anywhere in the world with it? Does the country even care about me and what pride is in holding a passport of a country who can never come to your aid in case of any emergancy' What do you think? |
If your father is a poor man, it is your fate but, if your father-in-law is a poor man, it's your stupidity. |
Hi folks, this is not to scare anybody but for you to ponder. Someone forwarded it to my box and I felt I should share. Cheers My Dear Brethren, I saw myself and another sister walking side by side jesting normally. A man was walking at the other side; suddenly the man turned and said "hey, the rapture has just taken place 30 seconds ago", and looking at the time it was 1.00.30s AM. The man proceeded by saying "go in the left direction you will find other Christians there, do not go in the right direction. They are taking the mark already. Go now I give you one minute". I asked him "what about you". He turned and said "I am the antichrist who has lived in your midst for so long waiting for this day". I was confused but my spirit said run my son run. We ran and on covering some distance. I turned back; lo and behold the man we left has turned to the antichrist. We kept running and saw many other people running as well. We got to a very large auditorium too large to be described and behold multitudes of Christians. Brethren it was a terrifying experience. People of high standing with God, Prominent men and women of God, loved ones and friends. I couldn't comprehend this so I scream "all of us, God what happened". The Lord now took me in the spirit to five churches: In a predominant church of one tribe, I saw the pastors announcing that the rapture has just taken place and that people should start receiving the mark right there in the church that this will substitute the said beast mark and enable them buy and sell. Brethren what made me weep was that the innocent and ignorant members started receiving this mark not knowing it was actually the mark of the beast. The Lord then said all these pastors are agents of the beast who has been ordained to mislead the people and who already has the beast mark before his manifestation, and I saw marks on the right arm of all these pastors. A brother who was fortunate to see who to call him to start running down to the place where all other Christians are was shot in the leg as he was about climbing the top of the Christian's hide out. Then the Lord took me again to another church where the pastors were just speaking of the good things of the scripture and didn’t talk about the second coming of Christ and warn the people of the wages of sin. The irony of it was that all these pastors and their members were left behind. Then I saw another church where people did really emphasize the coming but all the people didn't go as a result of the hidden sins which weren't known to man and they had not counted as sin. I wept bitterly because this was a church where holiness was professed and held in high esteem. I saw another church where people concentrated mainly on attacking demons and where the true word was also preached but the people also didn't go due to malice and lack of spiritual concentration. I saw yet another church where the people were actively involved in preaching the word and talking about the second coming, however these people did not go. The whole lot was full of hypocrites who disguise themselves in shepherd’s clothes. I was then taken back to the place where the multitude were and then I saw that the people of the beast came and Christians started scrambling for safety. Brethren it was a terrifying experience. Women forgot their children, husbands their wives. We ran and got to another place of hiding but the surprising thing which should make all shiver was that the population was now so small that it was easy for every one to identity each other as family and friends started pairing up. The Lord then said others have received the mark. Brethren the people I saw make me weep uncontrollably .Prominent men of God in Nigeria , Christians and loved ones. I now asked the LORD why all these one and God showed me different people and men of God saying: this man was perfect with me until 2 hours ago. That other had a small portion of his heart released to the devil. That other brother was too occupied with the things of the world in terms of land and property acquisition that they took over his life. That other one, I gave him a mandate to pay a certain portion of money to the church and he procrastinated it till now: sin of disobedience. That other so much loves his cheque book than his life. You can even see that he has his cheque book with him I wonder what he can buy with the money now: hope you know they are no more his. I wept because so many little things which we humans don’t count were counted by God. I now spoke with a confused voice help us Lord. The Lord then said all these things which have been happening on earth have all been pointing to the end but despite all my people do not take heed. I am giving the last warning. Consecrate your hearts to me my people. The trumpet would have been blown one hour ago but I pleaded with my father. However I can plead no further. The trumpet is already in the mouths of the Angels ready to be blown. SO PREPARE YE THY WAYS OH MY PEOPLE. Tell my people to read Matthew 16:3. And warn all the ministers who has gone in the ways of BAAL THIS IS TRUE AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT THE RAPTURE IS AT HAND HELL AND HEAVEN ARE REAL, REPENT YEH MY BRETHREN. PLS HELP ME OUT BY SPREADING THIS WORD TO ALL YOU KNOW. I LOVE YOU ALL |
I'd like to know more about Nairaland members who are married! If you're married, we want to know things like: - How you met your husband or wife. - What attracted you to your husband or wife. - Who proposed marriage, and how. - Who opposed the marriage, and how you prevailed. - The wedding, and the honeymoon - DO you think you made a mistake choosing your partner? - How often you're tempted to be unfaithful and how often you fall . - How long you think the marriage will last. How we met I was just out of secondary school in 1990 and i was living in Abeokuta, i was with some of my friends (all boys) when he came in, he was living in Lagos and came to visit his friends, those were the friends i was with and when he came in it was like their hero just came in, they were extremely happy and hugged one another, he shook hands with me and said hi being the only girl there. We all left thereafter. Few days later i was visiting these same set of friends and i came with my shoes wet, i had stepped on water while coming and was a little bit wet it was raining, when i came in i saw them all and he just looked at me and removed his shirt and offered me to clean my shoes with, that was crazy to me and i refused, he told me he was serious but i refused to take it. When i was leaving he offered to walk me down and we got talking and became friends, after sometime he expressed his love and we were dating. Whenever he was in Egba we would see, though we were dating i refused to stay with him behind closed doors (my mother's warning was quite fresh on my mind). I was scared of him then because as a local egba girl i felt he might just want to use me and get away so i was careful. We lost contact in 1991 (not my fault no GSM then). In 1992 while i was in school i met one of his friends who reminded me of him and told me his father has passed on and that at least for old time sake i should try to attend the burial in a week time, i took the address told my friends in school who advised me to attend and i did indeed. He was too excited and could not believe his eyes when we saw. The next morning afer the all night party we got talking and we continued from there, furtunately i had no serious relationship at the time (i had a number of relationships which never lasted for more than 3 months because i refused sex). We were together since then until i graduated and we 'did it' in 1996 this was after making sure we were heading for the alter. In 1999 a friend tried coming between us and i decided to end it all but he would not let me, as much as i tried he told me he would marry me or no one and after lots and lots of apology i forgave him and we planned our wedding for the end of the year. It was hard at the beginning so hard i almost regretted getting married because i still wanted to live my very single life but discovered some things has to change, if not for him the marriage would have hit the rock, he gently, lovingly and 'maturely' carried me along and helped me to adjust to the changes, sex was one of the major issues. To the glory of God i came out of it and have been enjoying my marriage since. My husband refused to let me get pregnant until he was sure i was ready for it - morally, physically, emotionally and psychologically, we are blessed with 2 guys now. What attracted me His maturity, physical attraction, respect for his family i believe if he respect his family he would respect me as well and the fact that he is from a family i was accepted into by all. Who proposed He did but not it was just like formality because we were already doing things that suggested we were heading for the alter, it was at Ikoyi hotel on a beautiful night. Who opposed? No one. Sincerely The wedding The normal elaborate church wedding in my church and the reception at OSCC. The honeymoon Went for homeymoon the next day we didnt have enough money then so we went to a quiet and beautiful hotel in Kwara State for 10 days. Mistake marying him? Not at all God gave me the best of them all, no one else could be patience with me and change my life this way, bring me up from being a 'girl' wife to a responsible woman. Tempted? Hunnnnnnnnnnn one would have thought that someone like me can never be tempted, i was decent and was never involved in any sexual relationship with any other guy except my husband but then something happended that nearly dragged me inside pit but for God. In all our several years together i never caught this guy in any scandal but sometimes after our wedding i read a text from a lady to him and i went mad, it was strange and it really shook me (its good to experience this kind of thing before wedding o to avoid this king of heartache), i kept to myself, i was dying and i told a guy i knew briefly about it, i just needed to speak with someone, he symphatised with me and we got talking he was giving me a shoulder to lean on then and one day his lip was almost on mine when i suddenly 'woke' and that was the end of my relationship with him, he apologised though but we never got talking intimately again. How long it will last? As long as we are still in love by the grace of God we will be until death do us part, apart from death the only thing that can end it is if my 'husband's enemy' makes the mistake of impregnating another person (God forbid, i cant stand that thing o, ordinary text almost ran me mad). Now 9 years into it and i am loving it. |
IMCCN:Word And i will share my testimony one of the many pastor Adeboye is not even aware of. I have always wished to have a set of 2 boys the very first time i will give birth, after my wedding i planned seeing a gyna who could medically help to make this happen but then i decided to change my mind and take it to God in prayer. I wrote a letter which i addressed and was to post to Pastor Adeboye i still had the letter in my bag when one night i had a dream where i saw pastor Adeboye (for the first time and the only time up till now), i saw him and his wife in that dream and i told him i desire to have a set of male twins and asked him to pray for me so it will come to pass. I knelt down and he simply told me that they (himself and his wife) joins their faith with mine and that i would have it just as i desired. I decided not to post the letter to him anymore and held on to his word in that dream and from then i told everyone who cared to listen i was going to start with a set of male twins (i was not even pregnant then) and lo and behold to the glory of God i got pregnant soon after and after 8 months and few days I WAS DELIVERED OF TWO HEALTHY BOYS. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion but as for me and my household we do and will always believe in the ability of God to do anything even the impossible or WHY IS HE GOD if he can only do the natural things? |
shollymame:Ok, if you want to apply for visa to visit Ireland you must be working in Nigeria and the job must be a job they think you would want to come back to, you must have a very loaded statement of account, you must have ties in Nigeria like properties, families that you would want to come back to, you must book a hotel to stay or get an invitation letter from a reliable host who is working and living legally in Ireland and must state his/her relationship with you and provide his/her utility bill, copy of green card etc as the case may be. Download and application form from their website and submit the aforementioned documents to their embassy in your country. Make sure you carry who ever is inviting you along he/she will be contacted. and and and and, if i remember anything omitted i will add it later. |
Please get as much information you can about this, since there is no govt to help us we need to help ourselves by knowing about it and working in our own way to prevent this deadly desease. Doctors here should also do justice to this by enlightening people about the causes and prevention of it. |
Written by Okoh Aihe (Vanguard) Tuesday, 17 June 2008 THERE is something worrying in an environment where ordinary headache and a little cold could get complicated and oftentimes result in very unpleasant developments. The state of healthcare management in Nigeria can only be mirrored in the exodus of qualified medical personnel who are leaving the country not only for greener pastures but even more, in search of conducive environment where they can practice. Environments where energy is not a threat, where equipment are available and where human life matters and not just a little fraction in a compounding mathematical figure. The joke is that the Nigerian, including highly placed government officials, who run abroad for medical treatment, are actually treated by Nigerian doctors. Doctors who couldn’t watch their little neighbours die of cold and headache and are too incapacitated to do anything about it. This statement may be too holistic but it is embellished with some modicum of truth. So if these minor ailments could result in fatalities because of the state of our health facilities, what of the big ones like AIDS and cancer, what will they not do to a helpless population in a country where prevention is a fairy tale? Vanguard’s attention in today’s edition is burdened with cancer, a disease with very punishing grip on a number of people in the country. The World Health Organisation (WHO) says about 100,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed every year in Nigeria although this could hit about 500,000 by 2010. When something spreads uncontrollably and becomes a malaise too difficult to control, the cliché is that the thing is cancerous. Such is the stubbornness of cancer that its hold is interpreted as a fatalistic death knell. But apart from the forlornness the disease could visit on the victim and relations, a very depressing story, according to the chairman of the National Consultative Committee on Cancer (NCCC), Prof. Abayomi Durosinmi-Etti, is that at the existing rate of population growth, only one radiotherapy machine is available to about 20 million Nigerians. Although this could be very alarming — little preventive care, more little detective techniques and near zero treatment — what the situation calls for, according to the Vanguard story, is for the government to be much more focused on the health of Nigerians by making our hospitals functional. The expectation is that a country like Nigeria shouldn’t give her populace an opportunity to suffer unnecessarily. But that is not the reality. The situation in the health sector as in most sectors is grim. Details of the Vanguard story refuse defeat and suggest very forcefully that the situation is conquerable. |
favcom:May be he was the postmaster lol |
EFOSA VAL:Nigeria for you, the suffering and smilling syndrome. We overcelebrate underachievement. |
lmao so he still has the chance to write all this with the intensity of the fire. |
Onyocha:Exactly! They will make it in a way that it will be so easy to do it by mistake so people would fall victims. In countries where they have functioning govt they are not interested in the fine but the safety, Nigeria on the other hand is only interested in the fines so those guys will make all efforts to see that there are no signs to warn that even sincere mistakes will cost you N250,000 how ridiculous! |
The one that really piss me off is trying to speak in foreign accents and thereby making a fool of oneself, i wonder why people think they have to speak like someone else and thereby sound disgusting. My colleaques are Irish, Britons, Polish, German but i never tried to copy anyone, u need to hear some idiots speak in foreign accent and these are guys whose oyinbo can give one headache, fake people. |
OlowoTee:They will make sure its either not available at all or its not conspicious so people can fall prey, its not like they care about the safety but about the money they will realise, no the money to be remitted o, believe me the area will now attract lots of policemen and touts who would ask those that will fall prey to bribe them or pay the fine, and you know the way it works in Lagos pay me N10.000 now or go pay N250,000, good avenue for the touts in uniform to make money. |
Bill Gate Almost Denied Visa Into Nigeria! Bill Gate the worlds second richest man was almost denied visa entry into our very own Naija. Wow I love news like this, makes me proud. He was denied by the officials because they weren't sure if he would leave the country when he is done hence causing a DRAIN ON PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE!! lmao. Public infrastructure dey for 9ja? |
What they are looking for in that Saudi. . .I seriously don't know.
Imagine o. Its not only Saudi but so many countries that are even far far worst than Nigeria. |
Some decades back when Nigerians travel to the abroad they return home at the end of whatever they have gone there to do, some pregnant women returns home to have their babies so as to get the care of their family. See what Nigeria has become today! Posterity will judge. I pray for him too because God does not delight in the death of a sinner (in case he is one). |
If you live in a country like Germany where dual citizenship is not allowed and you are faced with two options: 1. Keep your green passport and have indefinite stay on it 2. Go to your embassy to swear an oath that you are no longer a Nigerian and replace your green p with German passport. Which will you choose and why? |
