I think in most cases they prefer when your sponsor is closely related to you, i've heard of instances where such applications are refused because they can not establish a close relationship between the applicant and the sponsor. This may not be the case in all applications but at times it does affect, it actually happended to a very close cousin, his supposed sponsor is his related uncle with very heavy statement but it was not succesful. Like i said it may not be in all cases, others that are very conversant in this are will advise better, try your best and remember prayer works wonders.

Ujujoan:
Ayomifull you are right.

Nobody said it will be easy!! I remember clearly a certain African President who spent years in Prison fighting for freedom for he’s country.
Believe me if it was in Nigeria he would have been dead a long time ago, how long did Abiloa spend before he was killed?. Politics in Nigeria is a do or die affair, those who are clean and has no heart to do evil i mean as far as taking lives to gain power will not try to be involved, to a Nigerian politician everyone who stands between him and getting into the govt seat should be killed. Life has no meaning to them, so how will I who only say my prayers and cant kill a fly attempt to comtest with these evil people? Even the ones who are related to me who i could vouch for before they got into power i can no longer trust them because when it gets to a stage and they are asked to approve killing so so person to clear the road i am sure they will not object because they just have to be there.

A friend of mine who lived in London briefly and returned home when things were not working out fine to practise his law proffession was killed recently for attempting to stand as a witness against a serving gov at one of these ongoing probes. Imagine a waste of life! a young, brilliant lawyer with promising future cut short in his prime just because of some selfish interest. I am afraid for the country, i kept wondering if these guys will ever make things better, if the good ones will ever be allowed to gain power and if the touts who makes it will allow the good ones there to make a change.

This Africa no fair o, woman single at 35 the whole village would pester her when her husband dies at 45 they tell her to take care of her kids and forget about remarriange. A man single at 40 the whole village says he's taking his time, if his wife dies at 70 he would be encouraged to remarry to ease the pain. Like my great uncle who RE married at 103.

PoliticsRe: How Come Its Only Nigerians Abroad That Are Complaining by ayomifull(f): 12:30pm On Jun 04, 2008
@ topic Nigerians at home complains as well, infact they complain soooooooooooooo much but how do you expect millions of people with no access to internet to make complains through forums like these? Those who are really doing the complaint do not have the opportunity you and i have and those who has the opportunity has given up complaining because its like complaining to deaf ears. God help us.

About those abroad coming home to make a difference, c'mon we all know how easy that is if we want to be sincere. I remember during the power probe a young intelligent guy who came from America and was there to make a speech was given the shortest time there to speak and his speed didnt make any meaning to them, they almost spit on his face. You can only make a change when you are allowed you cant force it. What of brillian intelligent Nigerians at home who have at one time or the other tried to make positive changes but are either told to their faces to back off or get killed.

I've been thinking of what I as a person can do to make a difference and i realised its a waste of time. I was to drive into Apo quaters and my senator host asked me to bribe the policeman at the gate who stopped me from entering with an unofficial car, i tried not to do it but my car wont stay at the gate for 3 days (of course it wont be allowed). And when i was 'preaching' the right and the wrong he laughed and asked me if i still remember i was in Nigeria.

I met govr (name withheld) on a flight to Nigeria and i asked him how come they all come here so often and they cant go back to make things right as they see here and his response was that there are many forces against development in Nigeria and its more that what i think. I also once asked one of them senators why they make the people that vote them into power not enjoy life as they should and his response was that things has gone beyond what i can understand and that i should forget what we read on the papers because 'omi poju oka lo' and the forces governing Nigeria is not just the leaders we know their names. I jokingly told another to give me the position he was looking for someone to occupy he looked at me and laugh and said 'with this your oyinbo life preaching you will either have to be silent on so many things that will grieve you or be silenced if you cant play the kind of game that goes on here' (sure i value my life)

So someone tell me how can i make a difference? Will i not rather sit back where i can do things clean and help my people who needs the little i can afford back home. No one is mocking the country no one in his/her right mind will mock his/her people for going through undeserved hardship but what can we do. There are great minds in Nigeria let them allow them before asking those abroad to come home to contribute. Was the guy who came from abroad to contest Gov seat in Ekiti not murdered, was Soludo allowed his naira policy? God help us.

FamilyRe: No Pregnancy No Marriage, How Neccessary by ayomifull(f): 3:47pm On May 30, 2008
There are two reasons why a guy would insist on the fiancee to get pregnant before wedding.
1 The guy has been sleeping with this fiancee for soooooooooo long and she never missed her flow.
2 The fiancee has 'flushed' a good no of time and the guy is afraid she has flushed all the kids in her.

If the first one is the case definitely the guy would be worried especially if he wasnt the first person to taste the forbiden friut.

If the second is the case then the guy is being selfish because they both agreed to such evil deed.

Either way let her oblige the guy since they have been eating the fruit outside marriage, if they have been commiting furnication why not get pregnant afterall no one sin is greater than the other.

TravelRe: What Is Life Like As An Illegal Immigrant In Europe by ayomifull(f): 5:14pm On May 29, 2008
If you were trully born in Italy try to get your birth certificate and any other documents you can get from your parents if you are over 18 you should contact Italy embassy in Nigeria and try to see if you can get your passport from them. I am not really sure how it works with countries like Italy but i know a friend's cousin was able to get her American passport in Nigeria with some documents and another person (my neighbour in Nogeria) got his British passport in Nigeria as well.

You can contact the embassy in Nigeria, explain to them you were born there and seek advise from them, they sure will be able to help if you have docs to back your claim up. If you succed you can live in any country in Europe as an EU citizen. Good luck.

And I hope he is seriously working on this:

39 bridges may collapse in Lagos - Experts
Kunle Awosiyan, Lagos - 26.05.2008

IF the report of some experts from Denmark is anything to go by on the state of bridges in Lagos State, then, there is cause to worry over the safety of residents of the state.

The report of the experts, who recently assessed the state of bridges in Lagos State, showed that 39 bridges were in a terrible state of disrepair.

The state Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Prince Adesegun Oniru, who revealed some of the findings to the Nigerian Tribune in his office at the weekend, said that the bridges needed urgent attention.

According to him, “the findings show that the platforms of some of the bridges are getting weak, the supporting iron barricades have been damaged or removed and the chipping of the columns (pillars) are making the bridges weaker everyday.”

He said that the state government had invited some foreign experts to assess the state of the bridges when it was reported that the Third Mainland Bridge was shaking, but was disturbed with the report of the assessment, which he said was scary.

“Even the experts themselves were so scared of their findings that they recommended urgent measures which are already receiving government’s attention. The 10 experts who came all the way from Denmark had to extend their stay in the state from the initial 10 days to three months because of this frightening development,” he said.

He explained that the experts who had since returned to their country submitted a report which was not too pleasant to the government, adding, “I must admit that the report is not too pleasant. According to them, virtually all the 39 bridges they assessed are in a terrible shape and they were scared of what they found.”

Though Oniru declined to mention the affected bridges assessed by the Danish consultants, he, however, assured the people that the bridges were still within their 50 years lifespan and were not under any serious threat of collapse.

According to him, the consultants also recommended the replacement of the bridge infrastructure to bring back their lost aesthetics.

He added that the rehabilitation of the bridges might form part of the Lagos mega city model which, according to him, the government of Governor Babatunde Fashola, was committed to.

Oniru also spoke about the plan of the government to develop the state tourist centres, adding that N2 billion had been spent so far to sand-fill the new Maiyegun beach.

He said: “In order to make the place a world class tourist beach, government rose up to the challenge by sand-filling it. This will make us to harness the tourism potential of the beach and make it befitting for the populace.”

The House of Representatives Committee on Power and Steel, which is probing the $16b allegedly spent by the Obasanjo regime on the power sector without commensurate results, will soon jet out to Europe where it would write its report in order to avoid any undue influence peddling and possible leakage to the press, Daily Trust learnt in Abuja yesterday.

The committee had spent two months conducting public hearings and touring of project sites across the country, where startling revelations were made about the non performance of the contractors despite collecting huge sums of money.

The committee also heard that former President Olusegun Obasanjo granted due process waiver in the payment of contractors handling the multi-billion Naira National Integrated Power Projects (NIPP). An official of the committee, who preferred anonymity, said those who are compiling the report are currently abroad, and that there is little possibility that the report will leak. He said also that the Committee has not prepared the report’s executive summary or substantive report on the power sector probe,

It was a day i will never foget, I actually was inside a flying molue because the take off and the landing left me holding my next sit neighbour like a little girl holds on to her father to avoid falling over a bridge. EAS wasnt an aircraft but a flying molue. That 'coffin' ended up killing all its passangers a month after. The memory of those who perished in that crash remains fresh because i could have been a victim if i had not flown with it a month earlier.

FamilyRe: This Life by ayomifull(op): 3:38pm On May 23, 2008
Life taught me never EVER to trust anyone with sensitive plans. Its a practical one i'm about to share

My father was a rich man, very rich in his time, infact his house till today is the biggest in our community. My family was based outside Nigeria then but my father visited quite often. During one of his visits, he told his brother (who he equally built a small house when he built his) of his intention to write his will even thought he was still young at the time. His brother who he trusted so much told him of his very good lawyer who he would recommend for my father but that the lawyer was out of the country, he therefore encouraged my father not to be in haste as he will never die in his prime and that next time my father is visiting Nigeria this lawyer would have been back.

This my uncle knew everything about my father, all his properties both home and where they were based, everything about him and just as my father returned to his base as i was told he answered a 'call' and gave up the ghost! I really dont know how the family came to this conclusion but everybody in the family accused my uncle of the death and he proved them right by taking over all my father's property and those who were bold enough to challenge him died misteriously. Until his death though both lived in the same town we kept our distance and he had nothing to do with us, my mother had to keep us away after being warned by several people and he never asked about us. Everyone was against him but he cared less until he died a miserable death.

LESSON:

Never ever let anybody into your sensitive plan, the heart of man is full of evil.
