I was in Ghana for a week holiday in 2002 and believe me i wish to go again and again and again, you will sure enjoy it, the country is very neat, good roads, security is good, their taxis are so neat and looks well kept, hotels affordable but thing were somehow expensive then i can't say what it is now. At the airport you can book hotel, there are very affordable hotels there and some of their foods are similar to ours so you can survive. Believe me, anyday i will advise an holiday in Ghana. I stayed a few days in Accra and few days in Tema which is less expensive that Accra, cant remember the names of hotels i stayed now but ask mr know all-google. |
""I have decided not to go there illigally. I'm going to get a student visa instead to Uk for my masters & i believe from there on i'll take it slow & steady."" The best decision! If you have UK student visa your family can join you and after your study if you are furtunate to get a job you may get a working visa. Good luck. |
""Stamp4: Residence and Work Permit (enabling you reside and work almost anywhere except that it has to be renewed yearly, and also, you need a "re-entry" visa each time you're travelling out of the republic)."" You only need a re-entry visa once for the duration of the permit, you can travel several times with it, what i mean is if you have a 2 year residence permit, you only need a re-entry visa once for the whole 2 years and you have to renew it when your permit is renewed not each time you travel out of Ireland. |
""there's no deduction from child benefit allowance, that means, every child (irrespective of his/her parent/s legal status) is entitled to an allowance of 160 Euro per Month until s/he becomes 18 years of age."" @Vicjustice, that child benefit allowance has been stopped for assylum seekers its now only paid to children whose parent has legal residence. |
I have just requested an holiday at work and this has been approved, i was planning to visit our family friend in Swiss but unfurtunately my host for some reasons have to be in Nigeria by then. I love taking holidays but i dont like the idea of staying in hotels in Europe or elsewhere except in Africa. I have planned this holiday for Easter period and decided to see what Iceland looks like, does anyone live there (female or male with own family) who can offer me an IV letter and accomodate me? I have no problem paying for hotel but i am a local person and living on their kind of food for 5 days scares me. |
""@poster, you dey lie "" Funny lie. @poster, congrats guy, you got the attention you wanted. |
Since you guys are already on your way to the alter i am afraid reading answers to this question may not be quite helpful now. What if something funny happen now what will you do? Will you leave Queen? I think its better to do such test if you must before you announce to the world that you are getting married, before you create a website and before the IV goes out. If you do before, then please then go your separate ways if you both are AS, or if one is SS and the other AS because you are going to cause pain to someone. But since you guys has gone this far, Best of luck. |
Why for Christ's sake can she not control her body? Does that not give you a message that should you 2 have a reason to stay apart for some time she will not be able to hold her body? What is wrong with her body? I am married and i have had to be away from my husband for over 2 years, i never felt any urge to make love and it just suprise me when ladies says they can't hold their body. If you truly are born again the bible did not say resist temptation it says flee so you better flee or marry her as quickly as possible but also advise her to seek deliverance with that body that can not hold itself. |
*Why not spray pounds sterlings or Euros? Do you spend dollars in London?* Because 1 dollar comes in note, they can afford to spray that but 1 euro and 1 pound sterling comes in coin and they cant afford spraying €5 note and £5 pound which is the smallest denomination in notes. |
*KSA is a stupid and selfish slowpoke* Can't people make contributions without abuse? Haba! How did expressing his opinion called for this kind of abuse? Whatever happened to the word 'respect'. |
Ladies should actually be the ones to celebrate and treat the guys considering the fact that it was a man ( St Valentine) who died for believing in love and preserving the institution of marriage. Happy lover's day to you all. |
'Please can I buy some gifts for a girl I meet a day before the VAL day? Or we should postpone that till next year? I need a serious answer please' Why not? Valentine day is to share love all around not just to one person, keep love sowing my dear and thou shall receive love. |
I will tell you who to choose. Whoever is willing to love and care for you, hug you, kiss you, sm##ch you, share same bed with you all night without SEX until the engagement, sorry introduction night or better still until the wedding night. |
""ASOKORO BEHIND YARADUA" HOUSE, OPOSITE OBJ GUST HOUSE, A STONE TROW FROM ATIKU BEDROOM"" No wonder you are OPURO! |
St. Valentine's Story Let me introduce myself. My name is Valentine. I lived in Rome during the third century. That was long, long ago! At that time, Rome was ruled by an emperor named Claudius. I didn't like Emperor Claudius, and I wasn't the only one! A lot of people shared my feelings. Claudius wanted to have a big army. He expected men to volunteer to join. Many men just did not want to fight in wars. They did not want to leave their wives and families. As you might have guessed, not many men signed up. This made Claudius furious. So what happened? He had a crazy idea. He thought that if men were not married, they would not mind joining the army. So Claudius decided not to allow any more marriages. Young people thought his new law was cruel. I thought it was preposterous! I certainly wasn't going to support that law! Did I mention that I was a priest? One of my favourite activities was to marry couples. Even after Emperor Claudius passed his law, I kept on performing marriage ceremonies -- secretly, of course. It was really quite exciting. Imagine a small candlelit room with only the bride and groom and myself. We would whisper the words of the ceremony, listening all the while for the steps of soldiers. One night, we did hear footsteps. It was scary! Thank goodness the couple I was marrying escaped in time. I was caught. (Not quite as light on my feet as I used to be, I guess.) I was thrown in jail and told that my punishment was death. I tried to stay cheerful. And do you know what? Wonderful things happened. Many young people came to the jail to visit me. They threw flowers and notes up to my window. They wanted me to know that they, too, believed in love. One of these young people was the daughter of the prison guard. Her father allowed her to visit me in the cell. Sometimes we would sit and talk for hours. She helped me to keep my spirits up. She agreed that I did the right thing by ignoring the Emperor and going ahead with the secret marriages. On the day I was to die, I left my friend a little note thanking her for her friendship and loyalty. I signed it, "Love from your Valentine." I believe that note started the custom of exchanging love messages on Valentine's Day. It was written on the day I died, February 14, 269 A.D. Now, every year on this day, people remember. But most importantly, they think about love and friendship. And when they think of Emperor Claudius, they remember how he tried to stand in the way of love, and they laugh -- because they know that love can't be beaten! |
''if all the advance countries ran away from their country when they were in the same level we are now in nigeria, do you think they would be boasting or you comparing them to us now? why not come back home and try to teach people about how transportation and other things are done in advance countries! come back home and invest in transportation'' Who told you they did not run away? Do you know how many Irish ran from Ireland in those days? So people should come home and tell Yaradua how transportation should be? You mean they don't know? |
''These pictures are from Asia and countries in the same category as Nigeria. They are funny, but not a justfication for our own horrible system. We should to do what they do that is right that attract Nigerians to go abroad at any cost than what is not right.'' Word! |
I hope they are reading because i just tried it myself now with a very fast connection which is used for my work and it wouldnt just open and i had to close it in fraustration. |
''I am not trying to convert anyone to my cause, I am *asking* others to *please* explain the relevance of this *without* resorting to a sentimental argument. A *practical* reason. Something of *tangible* benefit.'' I was at a supermarket and needed to pass a message accross to my child and didnt want the oyinbo with us to feel embarrased i said it in yoruba and no one was hurt. If i had said what i wanted to in english she might have taken it personal. And when you beat them outside all you need do is tell them 'ti o ba sokun ma lu e si ti aba dele' and he will keep quiet, you wont say that where some ayinbos are in english. |
Nigerians love to show up, i was amazed when i went home last Xmas that my friends' kids couldn't understand yoruba and they are proud of it when my kids who were visiting Nigeria for the first time understands everything in yoruba even though they can't speak it. I wonder why parents would deny their kids that opportunity just to show that their kids are 'bota' who dont speak yoruba but english. God help them. |
''I used to say 'yes' before but now, i have seen ma pal withtwins and its so hard - so now i'll have to say no.'' No! its not that hard when you consider the pleasure of just looking at them grow, wear same cloth, admired by all. I had a set of twins in a strange land where i had no relatives nor friends at the time i was in an hotel for 2 months and i was on my own with them. How i was able to survive it only God can explain but today they are almost 5. God brought them this far with just myself with them since they were born. I work full time for over a year and i am still alone with them. Its a wonderful experience quite challenging though. |
amen and amen and amen, even though i am not there physically (i didnt get the date before buying my ticket), my spirit is there and by the special grace of God i am on my way to the next level. |

@ bolaoni, its not late if you get to see this before thursday, rte will be presenting a short slot on it this week thursday during the 6 o'clock news. Hoping to hear from you shortly ;and have a blessed week. |
I have just gone through previous posts narrating different experience with Nigerian banks. I found them unbelievable! how can someone go to the bank to withdraw money only to be told he has cancelled his account when he did not? this made me sick because i was actually thinking i would be able to get some money from my account with First bank where i have few hundreds of thousands in the account before leaving Nigeria 4 years ago althoug my friend keep operating the account paying small amount into it but wuite irregularly. There was a time i asked her to check if my account is still active and she was told to reactivate it which she did. Is there any hope that i will be able to withdraw my money? I am about having headache now because i have planned so much on that money and i have less than 2 weeks to come home. |
I have been exchanging mail with a customer service rep of UBA about the NRN but trust me i will have to appear there life and have a face to face discussion before signing any form earning money abroad is not as easy as making money in Nigeria so one has to be exra careful. I will advise you to postpose this your opening account till you are able to find your way home to their office yourself. Just my candid opinion and does not in any way means you cant do it by sending forms to them if you wish but as far as i am concerned i have to sign whatever paper in their office and hand it over personally. |
@bolaoni thanks a lot, i live in Dublin, I work as a customer care representative in an ISP, i should be on the rte 6 o'clock news on thursday and you can see where i work and the kind of work i do if you can watch that news over the net on rte.ie. Hope to hear from you, thanks again. |
This is a very interesting topic and i am seeing it for the first time. I really do not mind the idea of having a mentor i have read through all your contributions and i think its something quite useful. Although i have had no problem working in a foreign land but i think its worth having one. Now what i want to know is how one can get a mentor, i mean a proffessional mentor. I work as a customer service representative with an ISP company. |
