isuomo: I am not defending anybody here o, but i am told the executive was kept in the dark regarding the trip how far that is true me i don't know but the COS to the governor who is a personal friend Dr. Adeolu Akande said as much. If it is the Ajimobi i know, i will be surprised if he approved this trip it is tantamount to a Damascus conversion. The man is averse to spending money whether his or govts.
I can relate to that! He's a shrewd fella!

But how will the speaker leave this country for days without the knowledge/permission of the Governor? Haba!

Akande wants to wash the govts hand off the matter when it finally blew way out of proportion!

Them be thieves!

isuomo: This Oyo Speaker worked for so many years in the Home Office in UK rising to become a senior manager, she lived in London for over 25years her children are all in London this puts a lie to the thinking that only diaspora Nigerians can save Nigeria. I spoke with the Chief of Staff to Oyo State governor on Friday and he said the governor is hopping mad with anger 'cos this trip was arranged without the knowledge of the executive he was of the opinion that they cleverly avoided Ajimobi because he would have kicked against the trip big time.
And u want us to believe that? Lets take it that Ajimobi wasnt aware. What about his wife? She didnt know that her friends are out of the country? Even the speaker? LOL.

I wont budge for this at all.

ROSSIKE: You're assuming they had correct thinking facilities before assuming office. These are agberos who found themselves in the corridors of power, not educated people.
Ross, those that rip this country off its fortune are educated men and women who become scalpers at the slightest taste of power. Its more to education, I call it "dysfunctional-orientation". They have this orientation that government money is free money. Maurice Iwu, Fabian Osuji, and others were Professors who swam in the murky waters of corruption. Sadly enough, it seems this communicable disease is spreading to our generation.

I hope we dont fail this nation when its our time to bell the cat.

D-Explorer:
Breezy047 - You had a good debate, though i couldn't seperate your points from your case study. You cited some personalities in your case study and am sure that was to give it a voice. For me, you went more into the event more than the subject and that could be a minus. You did really great all together. Bravo!

Newacca - The body of your debate got me rooting. You broke the defination of the subject into the content. Your points were beautifully highlighted, the case study was simple and incisive. I enjoyed reading! Welldone.

Chucky234 - Your points was intertwined with the content. I couldn't identify it. The body of your debate was on a good lane but it was moving really fast; you ran it down. I indeed enjoyed reading!

Coogar - Your intro was superb! If only on that, you just won. I think your content was more of an article than a debate. I like the penetration of the your vocabs. Kudos!

Shymmex - 3 things won me over. 1) Your reference 2) Your depth of research and 3) Your style of writting. I wasn't ok with the end of the body of your debate, it was like you dropped us in the middle of no-where but in all thumbs up!

Cheddarking - Towards the beginning of your debate, you brought your point home to what we all can understand, i so like that. The points was there but wasn't seperated. At a point i though you were following a story line but when i saw your reference, it balanced the body and with your picture, you killed it! I call that swag. Good job!

Please note that this' NOT the judges' score-card. It's my PERSONAL view and it's refined from sentiment or bias. It's just my way of adding the fun and if you think am wrong, my sincere apologies!
+1000000. Exactly my thought!

coogar: still wondering how a judge scored me 5!!! 5? is the judge greek or cantonese?
breezy is 4th not 5th!
My assessment below:

coogar: Good Evening, Ladies and Gents. . . . .

I have deliberately defined this collection as part of a universal set of peoples, in which I am sure we all fall into partially or wholly at various times of our life cycle. It is not to cast particular aspersion on the integrity of any person but to lay some foundation for the fluctuation of man’s sociological and behavioral patterns when disposed to matters of critical thinking. This in a sense influences our mannerisms and modus operandi to levels verging on matters of sanity, truth, action etc or lack of them as universally accepted norms. In this instance, the corruption in Nigeria driven by political Godfathers is the case study.
Good one!

It is obtuse to even think the political Godfathers in Nigeria are not responsible for the sheer penury we find ourselves today.
Agreed. But you opposed it with the quote below.

It baffles me to hear that we still ask ourselves how to change such cancer that pervades all levels of the socio-political fabric as if we do not know the causes are self-orchestrated.
^ A point for those who are against. God-fatherism should replace self orchestrated there.

I tell a lie if I say I am not affected by the abuse, degeneration, despair, debasement, and dehumanizing conditions Nigeria has put us all. If we do not recognize this, I’m afraid we cannot appreciate our position of retrogression. And if we do not appreciate our present state, we cannot define a path to a glorious future. Introspection is preemption to hindsight. For those in the other divide that feel differently to this notion, I salute their sagacity. As a honourable member of Nigeria’s intelligentsia, I assume these strategies are already in place. But what can be the efficacy of prayers when it is done in deceit? What tickles my anger though is the hint of hypocritical euphemism that underscores such rhetoric.
Good quote. Infact I'mma add it to my archive. Sorry to say, but thats the only point in this paragraph.

Hence, the Judge gave you 5. You did little in proving your point, honestly.

OAM4J: Judges please forward your results. Thanks

@ALL

We sincerely apologize for this disruption, we do not want to appear disorganized, we shall have the final of this debate like I said and it will be among four of the six that already presented their arguments.

We will announce the result for today's argument on this thread, and the date/time for the final.

We shall have a new thread for the final which will be announced.

Apology for all inconveniences.
You guys shouldnt have included a cretin on the list. The tune and the anxiety of the audience now is nearly zilch.

Next time when you wanna do stuffs as good as this, a pre-debate activity should be done to ensure that selected individuals agree to the terms and conditions of the debate.

]I'll soon commence my service year(july or thereabouts), and i hope to be qualified(ICAN) by the end of the nysc program [/b]but constraint is, if i get posted to lagos it may affect it because reading will be tough and seriously i would like to be posted to lag,so am aware of the risk.

Through wit service, i'll go for my masters straightaway, m.sc econs or finance in either unilag or U.I will be okay for a b-tech accounting grad(my thoughts though), another constraint is that in ninja you need 2-3 years(at least) experience to land a good job. Where do i get that since am going for masters immediately after service?

Btw,i love investment banking a lot, and i hope my path will facilitate career in IB.

Sincerely,i want to take these risks because 'more risk is more return', but i want you guys to assess my case cos am scared and if one shud miss it now,it's quite dangerous.

Thanks.
And have you?
