Time2soar: Sorry about your refusal. You are refused on two ground home ties and available funds because you are travelling with you family and it is a two years program. You should apply alone and let your wife stand as co sponsor since it is a two year program and the buck of the money is in your wife account. Also your wife standing as co sponsor and staying back will answer the question of how you intend to pay for the second year. The purpose of visit was added because of the lack of home ties and fund which put your purpose in doubt Wish you success in your next application However my Business account has received funds since the last time i printed and submitted it to CIC, the fund covers much more than what is needed for Tuition and myself and two family members for 2 years, i might not need my wife to co sponsor any longer. Is it advisable to still reapply with three of us or i should apply for myself alone. |

Chocs: Hello ayyoshert
You’re welcome.
MBA seems fine to me. The gcms notes would throw more light into the “purpose of visit”
With your tuition, the funds you submitted cannot work. You tuition is high!! With approximately 26k per session. That’s about 52k cad for a year(correct me if I’m wrong please)
If you add 52k and the 17k for living expenses I calculated previously, you’ll see your balance was too low. Also remember they’ll most likely want to see how you can pay your tuition for the second year.
My advice would be to look for a course with cheaper tuition or take your time to build your account up. You’ll be needing a lot of money.
All the best Thanks. The 26k is for a year though, the 52k is for the whole program. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by ayyoshert: 7:06am On Oct 04, 2020 |
Chocs: Hello ayyoshert
Sorry to hear about your refusal.
First thing you should do is to order your gcms notes. The reasons you were given in your refusal letter is generic. To see the specific cause of your rejection, you need to order your GCMS notes. To do that, just google “GCMS notes sites” and you’ll see several websites you can order it from. It costs between $15-$20 and can take up to 35 days to be ready. Please order it immediately. From the notes you’ll see the visa officer’s concerns and you’ll be able to address it before replying if you decide to reapply.
For your study permit application, you should show your tuition for the first year plus at least 10,000 cad for your living expense For the people accompanying you, you need 4,000 cad for the first and 3,000 cad for every additional person, so for your wife and son you need 7,000 cad
This brings what you need to show for living expenses to 17,000 cad (approximately 5 million) plus Your first year tuition.
Also note that since you’re self sponsored the visa office will check for prospects on how you’ll pay your tuition for the subsequent years (if the program is more than one year) So you need to show a lot of money.
Was there any unexplained lump/huge sum deposit into the account in the time frame of the statement you submitted? That’s another reason for rejection on financial grounds.
I’ll advice you build your account up a lot more.
As for purpose of visit, it could be that your statement of purpose/letter of explanation was not very convincing or it could be that the course you’re going for isn’t showing a career/academic progression.
For the house to be able to advise you properly, you can share what you studied previously and the level (eg bsc, HND) and the course you’re going for now and the level. Also share what area your current employment is in. Usually your proposed study should align with your previous study or employment. Please also share the length of the course you applied for in Canada and the tuition fee.
As for family ties, you applied with your whole family. They think you won’t be coming back. You can tackle that by reapplying without them, and bringing them over after you’ve gotten your study permit. Although people have applied with their family and gotten it, if you want to do that, you’ll have to show strong financial ties to the country (landed properties, assets worth a lot, a good job to come back to etc)
Lastly, if you’re applying without your family, you must show proof that they’ll be well taken care of in your absence (enough funds) All the money belonging to the family cannot be used for your studies. You’ll need to show a good amount available for their survival.
All the best sir I do really appreciate you for the time you took to elaborate on steps to take, you're a wonderful person. I will order for the gcms as advised. I studied Mgt and Accounting at undergraduate level(Bsc), the course applied for is MBA for 2years( 25, 687 CAD per session) i work in the public service, as a senior staff who manages surbodinates i felt an MBA program can align. I indicated in my SOP of courses and training i have done outside the country US and India and how i believe the MBA program will assist me in making better decisions in managing people after i come back to my job in Nigeria. It's disappointing, However i will check the notes to see the specific issues. |

Gabriel004: Egunsi is a Yoruba word for it. Even Hausas eat egunsi.
Yoruba calls it Efo elegunsi Igbo calls ofe egunsi Hausa calls it Miyan gushi.
Everyone prepares it differently. You people do your own with little oil and pepper. Yoruba prepare their own with lots of oil and little more paper cos it will make them spit if pepper not added properly.
I don't know how hausas prepare theirs.
So it is not igbo soup. For real i don't know what egusi means in Yoruba but the sub tribes have their dialectical names for it in Ekiti we call it Eede and Ijebu i think call it Ooshiki. I even remember my late grand mother whenever she came visiting brings one special one that is roasted and eaten like groundnuts, i remember she brings another type very tiny compared to the regular one. It will be funny for any tribe to lay any claim to it, this ia an African plant that grows everywhere the only point could only be the mode of cooking preparation. |

Debaiz: This is totally wrong every Yoruba proverb points to the fact that EKUN is Tiger.
Kaka ki kiniun s’akapo EKUN, won a yaa s’ode won loto’to ni
A leopard can never be compared to a lion in any way let alone suggesting having same hunting purse. Lions kill Leopard every time they come in contact. Only a tiger can stand up to a lion.
Yiyo EKUN bi t’ojo ko
Leopard are not known to tiptoe when hunting. They ambush their prey. Either by jumping on them from the top or crouching to the flow and wait. Tigers are known worldwide to be the most sneaky of all the cats. They have the ability to walk on dried leaves without making sound. This is helped by their large meaty and fluffy paws that makes each of the step to be soft. So which one is a stalker hunter between Tiger and Leopard. Leopard is a very elusive hunter, which stalks it's prey. So who are the Yorubas referring to as 'Yiyo'. Then I have never seen an 'awo ekun' used by hunters and traditional chiefs for wall decorations or regalia look like the skin of a tiger. |
Education › Re: Amotekun Is Cheetah Not Leopard by ayyoshert: 9:10am On Jan 19, 2020 |
Venerable612: This is wrong.
First off the name Amotekun has nothing to do physical semblance as such.
It literally translates - “one who knows as Ekun”.
Again, you are wrong that Yoruba doesn’t have a transalation for Tiger - because our fathers didn’t have an encounter with them.
In fact Tiger has two Yoruba names. It could be called OGIDAN or EKUN. That’s why they say this provide - “Ogidan o ni se Barber, ki aja de be lo ge irun”.
And “KAKA KI KINIUN SAKAPO EKUN, OLODE A MAA RODE.“ Mind you Lion in Yoruba is Kiniun. And no one will ever compare a Lion with a Leopard. No animal can stand the Lion grit for grit amongst the Cat Family other than the Tiger; hence, the comparison.
Also, when Yorubas jokingly refer to someone as Ekun - it’s to represent that the person is a Strong man.
Thus,
Lion - Kiniun Tiger - Ogidan and Ekun Leopard - Amotekun Cheetah - Owawa.
Hope this helps. Ogidan olola iju, Ogidan de ako omo ni ila lai labe. That's some of the the panegyrics salutations of ogidan otherwise known as leopard also known in common yoruba as Ekun, Amotekun is Cheetah my brother not Owawa. Owawa or Ofafa is a tree climbing animal, like a smallish bear, not dangerous. Hmmm Yoruba, we are losing touch, and the wrong is hailed as right. |
