Op
The answer to your question is simple economics. Nairaland is a business and any thread that would generate traffic would hit the front page. You don't need a degree to figure that out.
Same reason why football threads hit the front page. It's all about traffic. If you want a site that promotes GEJ, you can start one.

You have comprehension issues. Please take it up with your teachers.

SELFWORTH: Am not here to prove anything. I don't care about GEJ, PEJ, Tinubu, Fashola et al. All am saying is that posting abuses, cursing and ranting on here about any politician is pointless. If you want to change Nigeria, contest in the next election. Change starts with individuals. A lot of the people on here don't seem intelligent based on their ignorant comments. By abusing them and calling them derogatory names what do you hope to achieve? I for one think majority of the 18 million undiagnosed maddx Nigerians visit this site daily based on this thread.

Before you start calling someone an eyesore, PLEASE look in your own mirror first. Therein lies your answer.
I don't have to contest an election to make a change but I will also not keep quiet when someone is abusing his or her powers.

TheGrandMaster: When a man chooses to support an argument with verbal assaults, its either the argument or the man is weak. In most cases it is both. Pro-GEJ/PEJ noisemakers, you and your sponsors are weak. Imagine the amount of money spent on these internet trolls, money that can be used to provide a conducive environment so as to provide jobs for genuine job seekers, haba, we are in trouble. Reno Omokri see your work.
Not one of them (self worth, pro1, et al) has proved Joe Igbokwe lied.

SELFWORTH: It's a shame that many people on here ranting like lunatics under the excuse of commenting are actually no better than the person they are abusing. How can anyone educated be condemning someone without having seen any shred of evidence. No wonder Nigeria lies in ruins. These are the product of the education system who have so far been unable to separate facts from fiction or propaganda from reality or sentiment from opinions.

It's disheartening. Some gullible ladies are also on here screaming that he should leave his wife because she is an illiterate. Some ignorant people are calling them names and wishing them evil forgetting that the Bible states as you do evil, evil will never let your home.

I have never seen so many educated illiterates on a forum. None of these people have ever led anything let alone people yet they are all experts in how a country should be ran. Some of them cannot even lead their homes yet they are giving advice on someone else marriage.

Many of the people on this thread are ignorantly invoking the wrath of God on thier heads. He was appointed by God. Instead of praying for him and his family for wisdom, you are all on here cursing and ranting and you expect progress in the country.
If someone paid school fees for you please refund ASAP.
What in the write up was a lie?
Did PEJ not collect the mic from Amaechi?
Does PEJ not shut down any state she visits?

You are nothing more than a sycophant and please don't bring God into this.
PS: Remember even David and Solomon who were anointed by God went astray and were corrected by men.

LastApostle: It is called international politics and diplomatic row.

President Obama snubbed Nigeria inspite of her enormous resources and economic integration in the sub Sahara Africa and globally.

President Jonathan heads to China, the second largest economy and the globally accepted alternative to the Americans to tie bi-lateral cooperation and economic integration.

President Jonathan want the Americans (the Obamas) to witness this landmark achievement with the Chinese just to spite them politically.

CNN understanding the diplomatic row between both government decided not to air the sponsored programme.
You really think GEJ trip to China means anything to the Americans? Please put that pipe down.

OP
Orji Uzor Kalu is a politician and will speak like a politician i.e from both sides of the mouth. Wole Soyinka spoke the truth and did not mince words.
As for the 'domestic appendage' dude please only illiterates will take it literally. E.g if i say Mr X follows his boss like a hand bag does that mean i'm calling Mr X a hand bag?

The domestic appendage means PEJ has no constitutional role and all the perks of office she enjoys is as a result of her being married to the president. In pidgin English, domestic appendage is equivalent to calling someone an attache.

As for the Michelle Obama thing, have you seen Michelle try to tell a Governor what to do in his state?
Have you seen her shut down a city for 1 day talk less of 11 days?

Michelle Obama and other first ladies are respected because they are seen and not heard. If PEJ wants that kind of respect, she should behave like other first ladies.
Christianity Etc › Re: In Jesus Name, All Knees Bow; In Mary's Name, What Happens? by AZeD1(m): 2:51pm On Jul 14, 2013
naijadeyhia: Stop displaying your ignorance. The blood in a person comes from the father and never from the mother. The key to your blood comes from your father. Mary was just a carrier. That is why a baby does not receive blood through the placenta of a woman ( this explains why a woman can have HIV and the unborn baby wouldnt have) the Make-up of the blood is already present in the DNA which comes from the man. Jesus had no DNA transmission from Mary. This is what you catholics cannot understand. Jesus came as the son of God right from birth. A man on a mission and Mary was not part of the mission. Mary would become part of the mission after the outpouring of the holy spirit in the upper room (because she was also there along with the brothers of Christ) She needed power just like everyone else and she was also sent by Christ when he said "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel"

I will pray for you.
But Elizabeth under the influence of the holy spirit called Mary the mother of God.
What do you say to that?
Christianity Etc › Re: In Jesus Name, All Knees Bow; In Mary's Name, What Happens? by AZeD1(m): 2:43pm On Jul 14, 2013
naijadeyhia: Mary had four other sons, Joseph, James, Jude, and Simon. Because of the virgin birth, Joseph was not the father of Jesus so these were the half brothers of Jesus. The last three mentioned are not to be confused with those who were disciples of Jesus by the same name. Here are some passages where the other sons of Mary by Joseph are mentioned (Matt. 12:46; 13:55; Mark 6:3; John 2:12; 7:3, 5, 10; Acts 1:14; 1 Cor. 9:5; Gal. 1:19).

The Catholic Catechism says of these verses: "The Church has always understood these passages as not referring to other children of the Virgin Mary. In fact James and Joseph, 'brothers of Jesus,' are the sons of another Mary, a disciple of Christ..." Pg. 126 #500).

The Catholic church teaches that the Mary in these passages is the mother of Jesus, but Jesus brothers and sisters are children of another woman also named Mary. The children are so clearly the offspring of the "Mary" of this passage, that the Pope has come to the conclusion it must be a different Mary! Incredible!

Now read it for yourself from the scripture and see if you agree with the Catholic church that the Mary of these passages is both the mother of Jesus and the mother of James and Joseph and Simon and Judas.

Matthew 13:55-56 "Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers, James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? 56 "And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this man get all these things?" 57 And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his home town, and in his own household."

Mark 6:3 "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?" And they took offense at Him. 4 And Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his home town and among his own relatives and in his own household."

Are you still Roman Catholic after reading that?

25Calibre: The Catholics are propagating heresy, they worship Mary but when you ask them, they tell you they only pray for her to intercede on their behalf.

The bible has made it clear-cut, Mary is/was an ordinary human, flesh and blood born with sin like anyone else, not an immaculate conception ( a popular misconception among the Catholics)

Mary died like any other person, the bible also made it clear that only two people Enoch and Elijah didnt die but were transcended into heaven.

Mary is not the mother of God, she was just a mere conduit used to bring Jesus into this world, after which she and Joseph went on to have other kids ( that is to say, your blessed Virgin Mary was fu*ked like any other woman after the birth of Jesus)
When you want to bash other people's faith, you should actually study and study hard. As the bolded part above and those who say Mary aint the mother of the Lord, Please explain luke 1:40 till the end. For reference purposes i'll paste it here.
And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

54 He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;

55 As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

Elizabeth who was filled with the holy spirit called Mary the mother of the Lord and Acidosis, Frosbel et al are trying to say other wise?
If you don't believe Mary is the Mother of God, please take it up with your bible.

At the end of the day, its double gain for China, they get their money back and they get the jobs. These guys are smart. China is using Nigeria to grow its economy.

Amaechi stormed the chamber with Chidi going gaga.

Bipi brought his thugs after a thorough beating session from Amaechi and gang cos they were outnumbered.

The unending propaganda of the pro Amaechi crew has been busted by the various video footage, putting an end to needless manipulation of what really transpired.

The propaganda even went as far as saying that Hon Chinda wasn't a house of Assembly member, but one of Bipi disguised thug smuggled into the chamber to bolster the impeachment process.

How far can the lies go . . . My answer is no where . .

Tech Jobs › Re: Hard-Working Programmers Wanted For Website Development by AZeD1(m): 6:28pm On Jul 11, 2013
Seun: Developers who aren't very good with SQL would be unable to develop new features without my assistance. That would suck.

I feel that ORMs offer negligible benefits, while imposing enormous costs. Writing database queries in an object oriented language via an ORM sucks compared to writing queries in SQL because that's precisely what SQL was designed for. Why do we use HTML for building web pages, CSS for styling web pages, and JavaScript/jQuery for animating web pages? Because using a programming language for what it was designed for provides immense benefits. The features of the language will fit your requirements almost perfectly. You will be able to get things done without fighting your tools. Things you need to do frequently will be very easy. Advanced features will be straightforward.
Using sql directly instead of an ORM is akin to writing inline css except you are using stored procedures.

Though i agree that every developer should know sql.
