yuzedo: And Nigeria is giving China what exactly in return?! I am not talking about the terms on paper. Money Cost. Opportunity Cost. Bla bla bla. What price is Nigeria REALLY paying for this?Probably $10 billion. The article states that Chinese companies already have contracts worth $1.7 billion. Looking at it in a simplistic way, 1)China gives us $1.1 billion 2)We give Chinese companies contract with the money. 3)We pay back China $1.1 + interest. Those Chinese guys are smart. |
And some idiots will say the north is the problem with Nigeria. |
As usual putting the cart before the horse. How many people transit through Nigeria? |
Why don't we just sell the country to the chinese? |
Only thing that interests me is the confirmation of zonal presidency (which I detest) which insincere Nigerian has been denying since Genesis. |
In a town in IMO the people are fighting the catholic church because a bishop was appointed from Anambra state. Moral of the story if you think running a way from your problems would solve it then you are deluded. My vote is No. |
PapaBrowne: I am also waiting for the day I will see Fashola take the BRT to work.Fashola does his medical check up in lasuth. |
Insincere Nigerian that your have low standards and are happy with mediocrity doesn't mean others should. Every where in the world, trains are faster than cars but in Nigeria the reverse is the case and you expect us to rejoice? |
riskit33: America just marked her 237th anniversary, while Nigeria is yet to mark her 53th, the difference is clear so pls spare us the sermon. Please can't you guys use your brain? Someone has posted earlier that Nigeria is older than Singapore but does that make Nigeria better? |
1. We can as well argue that Dana airline is not a Nigerian airliner. 2. Dana airline was piloted by an AMERICAN pilot. 3.US got her independence 237 years ago, while Nigeria is barely 50 years. I thought I should help you out. Stop comparing US with Nigeria.
When America was 50 the president didn't have an aircraft but Gej has one. |
Dear future wife There are two very important things I need you to know now: 1) Football is NOT just a sport, it's a religion and I'm a very religious person. 2) I don't care about the aso-ebi nne Ngozi or iya Basira brought, so deal with it and pay. You also earn some money. |
Jarus: I agree it is, but can it fetch me 1m per month? After 15 years it should |
Question for Jarus A large section of the Nigerian sector is informal; Don't you think as an accountant providing consultancy services (Tax, wealth Management e.t.c) for this people is a potential gold mine? |
These guys found a fertile land (Banking). They all founded the banks when the banking sector was just liberalized. As for now, you need to be smart and be ready to take risk while also being different. Great ideas usually sound crazy. |
Oh my people. The dude even held a bible. |
Jarus: The question is: which sector is young and has fertile potential in Nigeria now that one can easily plug into?Agriculture.. I would have said I.T but starting an I.T company in the hope of making money would lead you no where. You need passion. |
Everyone who has said GEJ is sending the right message is ignorant. The Chinese are using Africa to grow its economy. They give us loans to buy their equipment and give contracts to their own companies. There is no skill transfer at all. Enlighten yourselves by reading Sanusi's piece on our relationship with China. |
She hasn't told us how the aviation fund disappeared into thin air. Please Stella stay away from floating a new airline the country has more pressing needs. |
Why will a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria present score card to a political party's leadership? Recruiting graduates is a good idea on paper but in reality visit the nairaland political section and see the way the supposed graduates think. |
If you are worried about the religion of Nigerian leaders or part exco, please denounce your Nigerian citizenship and migrate to a Christan/Muslim country of your choice. This is 2013 and religion should be a private affair. |
Corruption is not the problem of Nigeria. It's people like Sammyzacks who have refused to use their brain to think. Patience should be banned from leaving Abuja if she cannot move quietly. |
Do some of you deliberately ignore the article and skip to the comments to talk nonsense? Read the damn article above first for heaven's sake before commenting. Rangers FC has followed due process and regulations needed for transfer and the keeper has even featured against the same shooting stars in the local league. The keeper's tenure with shooting stars ended in December 2012 and he began playing for Rangers FC a couple of months ago. Wouldn't common sense tell you that the months between December and the time he started featuring for Rangers FC, which is just few months back, was used to smoothen out his contract? Even NFF has confirmed that the kid is playing with a valid licence. So what then is you people's problem. Some of you are just pathetic.
If he was legally registered, why was Rangers disqualified? |
true2god: If this is happening in football u can imagine wats happening in the civil service, banks, oil companies etc. this same 'ineligible' player featured against 3sc and they didnt complain. That I come from a country with idiots like you really bugs me. Are you allergic to due process? |
PeterKbaba: The Airport is needed, remember the Eko Atlantic City! The city needs an high class airport tooActually they don't. CFCfan: The LASG won't be the sole financiers of the airport project, the private investors will foot most of the bill. As for the other airports, the FG through FAAN, are embarking on an aggressive remodeling program on them.Aside from the funds to build the new airport, we don't need 2 airports in the same state competing against each other. As for the FAAN remodeling, most of those airports would be shut down because they are not contributing to the economy. |
CFCfan: The present MMA is stretched, and has little room for expansion. The Lekki airport would primarily serve an estimated population of 2 million Lekki residents, and other Lagosians in general. Also, the Lagos area may witness a tourists' invasion within d next decade, which will make the airport useful.I'm just worried that airport is the last of our problems. We should improve the efficiency of the current ones before spend scarce funds on another one. |
Am I the only one who thinks the airport at the trade zone is just another waste of money? I'm still trying to figure out what it is with Nigerian leaders and airports. MMA doesn't handle half the traffic of Heathrow yet the government is planning to build another airport in Lagos? Someone please explain to me the economic sense. |
It a step in the right direction. |
When I see the account statement of Nigeria, I'll pass judgment. One point Sahara reporters made is the fact that she claimed paying off the debt was beneficial to the country: I'd like to hear her defend that action now. |
mbulela: Waste management is one major issue on which Eko has baje well well.People should have bins. You don't expect them to come everyday or do you? |
Nigerians are not happy though most think they are. |
On a side note, the Dangote monopoly is not good for the country. |
The good news is the guarantee for the farmers. It gives them the incentive to grow more since they are assured of selling it. Tomato farming here I come. |

That's the 'risk'.
