AutoReportNG: I go through this route daily and any sane person will tell you that this is a disaster awaiting to happen, last year was hell for those living around this area as the flood were everywhere. In as much as I commend Ambode but I won't support the degrading of the Lagoon, its too dangerous
Come back around June/July when we will be in the rainy season, I will remind you then
Cheers The sand used to fill the lagoon is gotten from the lagoon. You just increase the depth in one place. |

It's the voting pattern you should look at.
As of today, we can boldy state that if an electron took place today, the North would go APC, the South East and South South would go PDP as for the South West, they are fluid so it can go either way.
You also have to remember the election law that says you have to get a certain percentage of the votes in 25 States. APC cannot get that percentage in the South East and South South, so they need to make it up in the South West. The same thing goes for the PDP, there are States that are a write off percentage wise so you need the swing votes (SW) to fulfill the electoral laws. |

This looks more like a political report than actual journalism unless the author is stating that all the current AIG's were appointed during the regime of Buhari which I highly doubt.
In 2016, a certain Paul Okafor was promoted from CP to AIG, also CP Isaac Eke was promoted from CP to AIG although he is currently retired.
A certain Etop James was promoted to AIG in Dec 2017 but I can't confirm where he is from. |

LaudableXX: Ok, if you are a HR director of a multinational firm, or an MD of a large global manufacturing organisation with offices in Nigeria, and you had 3 candidates in front of you, which one would you choose, if you value merit, talent, skill and knowledge?
Candidate A: Has only a bachelor's degree in the required field;
Candidate B: Has just a masters' degree in the required field;
Candidate C: Has a Ph.d degree in the required field
Kindy note that all of them have the same years of work experience. Now what would your final answer be? A, or B or C? You can ask the audience, phone a friend or take away two incorrect answers, leaving one right answer..... The one who passes the interview. Last year Earnest and Young dropped class of degree from its recruitments of graduates. I have not submitted my certificate in any of the places I have worked before. https://www.google.ca/amp/www.independent.co.uk/news/education/education-news/ey-firm-says-it-will-not-longer-consider-degrees-or-a-level-results-when-assessing-employees-10436355.html%3famp |

Travel › Re: FG Still Eyes Arik, Aero As Fulcrum For National Carrier by AZeD1(m): 12:30am On Mar 10, 2018 |
fleetfeet: Over 80% airlines in the world are govt owned National carriers. Also fact check, none of the Gulf carriers run profitably. Their objective is to bring people to dubai, Abu Dhabi, doha to boost tourism. The gulf carriers are managed by brits.
Check to see how much these airlines make and repatriate out of nigeria every month. Business is soooo goood that emirates operates 3 daily service out of nigeria, Ethiopian operates 3 daily service out of nigeria-all using the biggest twin engine jet in the market today-B773er. Each has a passenger capacity of 350. Do the math: 350x6x450000(ticket fare)=N945m per month for just these 2 airlines. Imagine if these monies flowed into naija on a monthly basis? Check the value chain: fuel supply, hotel accommodations, office accommodation, meals on the flight and other suplies, flight crew, cabin crew, mintenance, groun crew and many more will feel the impact of these monthly repatriation. If we are serious about progress then we should start plugging these holes that drain our economy. If we are serious about progress we will stop our government from owning business. Most of you have forgotten there was Nigeria Airways and it crashed and burned. As a country, can you say we have dealt with issues that brought about the collapse of Nigerian Airways? What's wrong in the government making the business environment conducive for the private airlines we currently have? |
Travel › Re: FG Still Eyes Arik, Aero As Fulcrum For National Carrier by AZeD1(m): 10:45am On Mar 09, 2018 |
isnovic: The question is not whether a national air carrier is required, it how to evolve a management solution and busness model such that continuity and profitability are sustained.
To not have National Air carrier is hurting our economy and the major reason most airlines charge way too much on return flight from Nigeria instead of the other way around.
The presence of no competition means some Air Bilateral Agreement signed with most countries national airlines are one sided and profit other countries only.
Lastly, it is a thing of pride to see your national airline outside our country.
So as long as the business model, continuity/profitability is perfected, then I do no see why not.
It is an open sky, let the competition begin, so market demand and supply will solely determine flight prices and not the current situation where flight prices are fixed unilaterally due to lack of competition. 1) You don't need a national carrier for bilateral agreements, all you need are home grown airlines. 2) There's no pride in having a national carrier when you country boasts of the largest number of poor people in the world. |

Turks: Kenya airways, Emirates, Qatar, Turkish, Ethiopian airways, British airways are all national carriers. Why do you think they need a national carrier? Over 200 hundred countries in the world and you name six? British Airways is a private Airline, Qatar and Emirates are run by peeps with way more money than Nigeria. The remaining 3 have been in existence since way back, we had our opportunity and we ruined it. We have more pressing need than a national airline. If the private companies cannot survive in this clime, what hope does a government run business have? |

Please I need clarity.
I have an Alberta health card obtained when we did a short landing in calgary in early 2016. Later that same year, I went back alone and had a baby. I returned to naija early 2017 and now we plan to return to Canada late 2018 but are seriously considering staying in OTTAWA.
QUESTIONS: 1. Can I switch my Alberta health card for the ontario healthcard and instantly get coverage? 2. Does it matter that I would have been out of calgary for over a year before moving to Ottawa?
Any info is highly appreciated. Merci beaucoup! Find the answers here http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/publications/ohip/ohip_waiting_pd.aspx |

Kindly assist if you v had this problem and how u sorted it out. thanks One of the reasons for this was because the officer who attended to you, didn't finish the "check in" process. (it was what happened to me because I landed in Quebec). You should call CIC and they'll help you. Have you gotten your SIN number? In my case, I called, was told to wait 7 days, after 7 days I called and was transferred to immigrations. The person I spoke with took the officer's who attended to me numbers (it's on your COPR) and made a note for the officer. The officer called me like a day later to tell me he had completed the process. |

Business › Re: 16 Reasons You Should Be An Entrepreneur And Own A Business by AZeD1(m): 2:45am On Mar 01, 2018 |
kelvinjeremiah: Enlighten me pleeeaaseee kelvinjeremiah: 1. Value Creation And Problem Solving: There are lot of persons out there looking for solution to certain problems. If you're capable of providing answers to those problems, why not create something that does it? If your idea and innovations can help others solve problems, start something... create something unique and value-driven. Teachers, Security folks(Police, FRSC), Medical personnel are problem solvers and they create far move value than 99% of entrepreneurs out there. Anyone who wants to create value and solve problems should go into public service. kelvinjeremiah: 2. Contribution To Community, Society And National Development: It'll make you an important person in the society. It's an avenue to help the less and non privileged to achieve greater things through scholarships, provision of social amenities to communities and through charity organisations. This is what the likes of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet does. You really think the only way to contribute to the community is buy being an entrepreneur? Seriously? Do you have an idea of the organisation called Red Cross? kelvinjeremiah: 3. Personal Ownership Of Business Concern Empowers You To Do More In Life: Truth is - the more success you get, the greater your cravings for more success. Being successful is a motivation to be more successful. Seeing the daily activities of your own successful business give you an opportunity for more successful businesses. Did you seriously write this? Where is the data? You also need to define success because success to a teacher is different from success to a barber which is different from success to an athlete. Also, you don't need to be an entrepreneur to be successful. kelvinjeremiah: 4. Instability In The Labour Market And Job Insecurity: With the high rise of unemployment rate in most countries, you wouldn't want to be in the labour market seeking for employment. And working as an employee does not necessarily guarantee you job security. Being an entrepreneur is a guarantee for job stability 'cause you're boss. You want to check the statistics of failed businesses? kelvinjeremiah: 5. Meeting The Challenges Of Family And Personal Responsibility: "Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibility... in the final analysis, the one quality that all successful people possess is the ability to take on responsibility" - Michael Korda.
Being an entrepreneur gives you the opportunity to be responsible and meet the challenges of family, whether financial responsibility or otherwise. Lets see how the statement in bold sounds when we rewrite it in different words? "You can't get the opportunity to be responsible and meet the challenges of family, financial or otherwise if you are not an entrepreneur. kelvinjeremiah: 6. Securing Your Financial Future: Any value-driven and profit-oriented entreprise is a legacy. There'll be no chance of being broke (penniless). It'll give you this financial confidence. This is another lie the likes of you entrepreneurial preachers peddle around. Check the statistics of failed business and reconcile it with this post. Just as some entrepreneurs make money is the same way some employees make money. Steve Ballmer was an employee of Microsoft and he's a fucking billionaire. Marisa Mayer made $260 million from Yahoo, the 100th engineer at Facebook made $10 million when Facebook went public. Sola David-Borha was making N117 annually from Stanbic IBTC. This list goes on, lots of employees are cashing out without the added "stress" of managing a business. kelvinjeremiah: 7. Job Creation: There ain't much jobs in the labour market. An entrepreneur solves this problem. He creates job for job seekers. He has this mentality, "Why be an employee when you can be the employer?" It's a very important reason why you should be an entrepreneur. Business are set up to make profit, not create jobs. kelvinjeremiah: 8. Set Your Own Deadlines: Are you tired of being bossed around or inconvenienced ‘cause of deadlines? Become an entrepreneur. Your business, your deadlines - you're the boss. Another lie from you entrepreneurial preaches. Even small businesses like hair saloons and pure water delivery will close down if the work with this mindset. I personally know a barber who lost customers because of this "I am my own boss I'll work when I like" mindset. My parents started a business when they retired and I can tell you they both had more time for themselves when they were employed than now. kelvinjeremiah: 9. Pursue Your Passion: Entrepreneurship offers you the opportunity build and invest on what you love most. https://www.cnbc.com/2017/09/20/billionaire-mark-cuban-says-dont-follow-your-passion.htmlkelvinjeremiah: 10. Get Recognised: Success attracts people. Owning your own business, having measurable finances gives you an opportunity to ccommunicate with the elites. You get to meet successful people and gain some recognitions. I'm pretty sure more people in Lagos would recognize Pogba than Jeff Bezos. One is the richest man in the world and the other is an employee. kelvinjeremiah: 11. Inspire Others: Inspiring others is not limited to giving amazing and thoughtful speeches; our activities does inspire others. You, starting a venture grants confidence for others to follow in your footsteps. That is inspiring. Seriously? kelvinjeremiah: 12. Financial Independence: Being an entrepreneur gives you financial independence and flexibility. See no 6 kelvinjeremiah: 13. Become An Expert: You know what they say, "practice makes you perfect." Something you do more often becomes part of you. It becomes easy and fun. Whatever area you might specialize in business, you have the opportunity to be an expert in that field. Entrepreneurship tends to be breath based not depth based, to be an expert, you need to depth focused. kelvinjeremiah: 14. Gain Entrepreneurial Experience: The failures and successes you have in entrepreneurship, the more experience you gain. Another moot point. Experience can be gained in a variety of ways. kelvinjeremiah: 15. Get More Creative: Success makes you crave more of it. Since business requires critical thinking and developing of ideas, you need creativity. Being an entrepreneur makes more creative. You don't rest on your laurels, you just want to keep finding solutions to problems. See 14 kelvinjeremiah: 16. Learn New Skills: Entrepreneurship is an avenue to diversify your skills. It's an opportunity to develop more skills. This is 2018, if you don't learn a new skill you will be replaced by a robot. Everyone should sit down and determine what they want out of life and work towards it. Success means different things to different people and there are so many paths to success, identify what success means to you and works towards achieving it. |
