rottennaija: Why are these meters on electric poles? Why not make this meter smart, in such a way that they can be monitored remotely so that the meters will be mounted on people's home?
The technology is there, is cheap and has been tested and proven. Besides, it will provide more jobs for the data processors that will be on those work station monitoring the system, those that pay, those connecting illegally etc. Besides, the meters are theirs, whatever investment they have put into it, in the course of 5 to 6 years, they will get it back.
What I see now is a short cut that will affect us years to come. Short cut or this quick has not really gotten us anywhere in this country. When Nigeria wanted electricity, instead of doing the right thing with underground wiring as is done in countries that are successful, they choose the cheap option of surface wiring with electric poles, despite the money they had and today, we are still suffering from that decision The meter is on the pole because consumers bypass meters put in their homes. |

BeastAmbition: Thanks for the lecture. That's the main reason why Nigeria will forever remain enslaved by the west, since people like you think we must always follow/do whatever they do.. They ain't engineers, accepted - but they are more than capable because they performed beyond expectation Admit you're are wrong, there's no shame in that. Your statement was It's Only In Nigeria A Lawyer Can Be The Minister Of Power. I proved you wrong with four of the most advanced countries in the world. Oh and China is not in the West neither is Russia. Besides, you are the one who thought every other country in world has an engineer as it power minister. |

The power ministers of France, England, China and Russia are not engineers, they didn't even study a science related course. |

I don't see any special take over he did in this game and they will all crawl out soon and talk about stats and how he is on Kobe's level. mtchewwww Lebron doesn't have Kobe's killer instinct. On the other side, GSW have several players who can match Lebron for size and speed which is Lebron's biggest strength. |

Sweetlemon: Falls from banana tree You know what? On second thoughts I've realized that the best way of solving this ND militancy crisis is to just leave them alone. Forget about our oil for now and see this as a blessing and sign from God to discover other potentials and mineral resources in other parts of the country. FG should even abort federal projects there sef cos the militants would likely go blow them up. Totally ignore the region. Let them continue destroying their lands, one day my brothers and sisters will wake up to the harsh reality that they've been doing themselves all along and it will humble them by force, then Nigeria would have discovered other revenue generating areas and would care less about our oiyel, then maybe the same militants will start begging the FG to come back and explore the oiyel. Smh. I'm from that region but honestly I think it's high time my people learnt a very tough lesson. I am with you on this one. We need to rid our people of this oil mentality. If I had my way, the government would not negotiate with any militant. When hunger starts to kill us, we will sit down and do the right thing. |

stanech: Yea but that doesn't mean we need to start feeding kids. How about cutting taxes and providing electricity so companies can grow and provide more jobs. Someone would have to grow the food and someone would have to cook it which means the programme would create jobs and help keep pupils in school. To make it more effective, majority of the food items should be produced locally in the vicinity of the school. |

Shym3xx: Rogues.
When are they even going to complete the darn thing? I remember when I first registered on this forum in 2012, I saw pictures of Fashola buying some used trains in Canada. What happened to them? Ambode says it will start running this year. I know they are constructing pillars at CMS right now . The remaining part of the work is the last leg and it's mostly over ground. I'd say 80% of pillars have been constructed. |

Because the terrain is different, the project is different .e.t.c.
There are so many variables to the project that makes comparing the cost based on length stupid.
Would it cost the same to build a house in Ethiopia? |

MrMarvelous: I'm sorry but it's not the same analogy at all... The actual analogy is Mr A has a tailoring shop, but his children go to another tailor to sew, Mr A has a barber shop, but his children go to another barber to cut their hair...or like someone mentioned earlier Mr A has a car company but doesn't drive his own cars. It's hypocritical in my opinion especially if there's a semblance of superiority in the patronised products, compared to his own. My 2 cents... You have to remember the children have a life of their own. I have friends who their parents are pastors but the children attend different churches. |

But even as this administration is set on revising history, it should not be forgotten so soon that the Jonathan administration met about $6.5 billion in the Excess Crude Account, ECA, and increased it to almost $9 billion by 2012. However, the Nigerian Governors Forum, using their influence at the House of Representatives, had gotten that August body to declare the Excess Crude Account illegal in 2012. I don't think it's right to put an "excuse" in an article complaining about excuses. That said, it's high time Buhari and crew stop taking about the GEJ government. We already know they were clueless just stop reminding us. Also Buhari should fire Lai Mohammed. The dude doesn't know the difference between opposition spokesman and information minister. |

Feraz: How did Femi get that appointment in the first place? Seems he is out of touch with reality. Even here in NL, some APC stalwarts share his sentiments . Rewane had facts and statistics to back whatever he said. Never knew there was misery index, even Seun asked how it was calculated. . .
That guest blaming poor power supply on NDA alone is not well informed. First said Nigeria generated the highest MW of power since independence and because of the NDA, we are experiencing epileptic power supply like we weren't in darkness before the NDA started their attacks.
No mod should take this to FP when it is already finished. . . . You should know that Femi is a journalist (his title is SA media not economics)and Bismark is an economist. This is not a fair fight. |

Right now, any militant or their apologist in the creeks is a walking target, whether Tompolo, NDA or Chukwudi44. I don't think pa Chukwudi44 has the mind to enter the creeks. He's an online cheer leader. |
