Streetinvestor2:You're kidding ![]() 10 years back a big pot FPI used to collecting + $1,000,000 would have seen it shrinking to $800,000 up to last year and $200,000 this year for the final dividend. Increasing NGN dividend paid, compensated somewhat for devaluation up to last year. But this year nah. |
Streetinvestor2:Hammer wey basket of wetin him dey hammer dey shrink. ![]() However more visible to the FPI |
Mpeace:Got GTCO GDR dividend today. Rate 1,461.16 Chai this GDR dividend has shrunk seriously. I wonder what FPI's that bought the GDR will be thinking |
Mankind2024:Will all these wobbles not reach the banks with huge impairment losses in the months and quarters ahead if the wobbling is not halted ? |
Ginalex:Before the dividend land price don go up. Make we dey watch if prices will creep up or come down in Q3. |
Princkez:Abi the dividend don land. I read AGM was done yesterday. |
SetrakusRa:Chai FCMB and WEMA dividend bit First Bank. FBNH can lay claim to beating ETI that declared no Dividend. With 0 dividend ETI price no shake .Will Ote$ and Co mop up more shares or will the price fall yakata ? |
KarlTom:This year should be x3 or x4 that. |
Manufacturers wail as unsold goods pile up in warehouses – Vanguard Manufacturers of fast-moving consumer goods, FMCG are in dire agony over the continued rise in unsold goods in their warehouses, a development which would lead to a further significant decline in output level in the sector. The continued rise in unsold goods is caused by two factors namely the rising cost of living and the declining purchasing power of the citizens. Financial Vanguard’s findings show that due to the downturn in the consumers’ disposable income, the stock of unsold goods for manufacturers in the fast-moving consumer good, FMCG, sector of the economy. This looks like bad news for the stock market. |
emmasoft:Why are you placing a hold recommendation on UBA ? |
ositadima1:Who are the official 3 Nigerian $ billionaires in that statistics? Dangote, ? and ?. |
Hogwarthtrades:Fidelity AGM should be holding too. Make them do quick finish. ![]() |
vacanci:Observed psychology of the market around dividend is working. Well done for the observation. I have noted a price drive up pre-dividend by the dividend herds and a price slump post dividend driven by the post dividend bears too on many liquid dividend paying stocks. But never took time to quantify it or act on it. Also there is the general post dividend season bears that usually pull prices down from May to August. That has been observed by many on this forum too. With the current macro despair (high interest rates, inflation, reduced purchasing power etc), these bears may pull down prices this year unlike last year when there was optimism. However, some sellers may realize taking profit too cheaply may be a double jeopardy with the high inflation and therefore not sell with deep discounts. Make we day watch. Some TA people may be able to see more with their tools ![]() |
Camoready:Perhaps the insurance subsidiary of the hold co. Have insurance companies started releasing their results? |
KarlTom:Many places across many states are unproductive because of host community entitlement spirit. It chases away people migrating there for ventures when these entitlement spirits don't waste time to shed blood. When you see a state with net migration out of it this entitlement spirit must be wicked in such places. |
KarlTom:Looks like Land Ownership/compensation disputes. Or just the wickedness of unproductive folk that want to reap where they didn't sow. Has Okomu used all the land in the area. Are there no other unproductive lands in the area lying fallow. |

mikeapollo:The +N300b PAT was not calculated based on this production. It's just coming soon ![]() |
KarlTom:I see over N300b PAT being announced soon. ![]() |

Adinije:It takes time, effort and stress to monitor prices and trends/information and to target a jump in and jump out. Time & effort is equivalent to money. Not everyone has the time and skill to spend for this jump-in jump-out that may work when done well and may not sometimes as Mr Market has the final say. For those that have the time and skill to invest great - do it!. Otherwise spend time on other stuff. |
cocolacec:UBA looks good in meeting that criterion at current price |
KarlTom:It's a good sign when many of them are buying. It's not too relevant if the market prices UBA right immediately what matters is the directors being consistent in growing the wealth of shareholders with increasing EPS and Dividends as the years roll by. UBA looks poised for growth with Tony as Chairman . |
Mpeace:Despite any more attention, GTCO sells at a premium to Access & UBA. |
Mpeace:Looks like money no too dey. Or people are risk averse and would settle for bonds instead of stocks. Or people are worried of the economy. Or investors want to be sure numbers are steadily improving and not one-off good results trap. I think the CBN needs to thread slowly with this recapitalization while the government creates more conducive environment for businesses that exploit comparative advantages like oil palm, rice growing, gas production and distribution, power generation and distribution etc. |
megawealth01:Enough of this Gbelo Gbebo. It's time for a final take off abegi. |
Streetinvestor2:Zenith had a shot there too. But not as much as GTCO. UBA looks more organic and strong as it did't record outlier other income. Would be be good to know what this other income from GTCO and Zenith are. Perhaps open forex position CBN directed to correct the first couple of months. Good to know what exactly. |
Princkez:Fantastic print. No one should be selling at current prices. UBA should be selling above N60 The only thing not yet clear is how much dilution (or set back) will come from recapitalization. |
OBAGADAFFI:Most likely they are doing this to stabilize price and give market participants hope. And not erode hope in the prospects of DangSugar. I have old DangSugar from the PO. Just waiting and watching. A HOLD for me. No trading. Would rather hope to see the kind of Growth PRESCO has delivered someday for Sugar ![]() |
bisiki2:Please if you find it out please share. Or any other information that shed light on what their assumptions for Revenues and cost of sales are and how this differs markedly with Seplat. |
Choiceguy:Delisting aside. Also finance costs aside Oando needs to show operations with stronger margins. The 2022FY conveyed an extremely high revenue as revenue jumped from N805b to N1,993 billion. A rise of 148%. But cost of sales jumped up at a faster rate of 151% and nearly wiped out the whole revenue. Oando achieved a 4% Gross profit in 2022. While Seplat had a gross profit of 49% in 2022. Gross profit is before any finance cost is deducted. The Gross Profit is unusually low in the last two annual reports released. |
BullBearMkt:This chart need to be inflation adjusted in view of the long time span and Naira devaluation Otherwise try use the JSE technical plot |
