PoliticsRe: Why The Nigeria Police Is Not Effective by Backslider(m): 1:34pm On Feb 14, 2008
very Good read and good inputs.

The history of the Nigerian Police force is all about Brute force. The intelligence they use is adversarial. When you spend less on training and retraining this is what you get.

You Need to over haul the police FORCE It should be the POLICE SERVICE

Set down Rules

Men of the police force must go to Police college for 4 years after secondary school.
They must be physically fit.
There must be husband of one wife.
Must speak 4 nigerian languages to proficiency

This will be the code of allow any man into the police service that will be operated by a Federal intelligence police.

Any state that must have a police service that will provide the following

housing mortage for a state police officer
Car and car loan
Salary of state police will be paid by state 70 and 30% by federal

The Federal Intelligence police will consist of the Army Navy Airforce and customs

Their job will be to

1) Monitor Police and ground intelligence
2) Equip Police
3) Regulate police standards
4) Prosecute police officers

The issue of Morality must be the bain of the police service.

You cannot take away morality from service.

The police must be seen to be Moral because they are the Highest civil authority given to man.

Why?

A police man will lay his life down to save another Life

A police man will lay his life down to save your property

Apolice man has the right to take life wrongly or rightly

Because police is Useless now it is now a tool in the hands of some people that want to make quick money.

The Police Service is supposed to be the Example to the People. no to the other way round mamajama

The people may be corrupt but if the police man is not corrupt the people will not continue in corruption.

The people have the right to be or not to be corrupt and there will be fear of the police ( i have seen this in Ghana and Singapore)

The police have no right to be corrupt.

You as a government must protect the police.

Yes Atiku is a Great Man

It has political weight. I will explain below

Gbenga and his wife know of his dealings with Atiku

His wife knows of his wealth and threatens to expose him.

He is Afraid and goes public to make it impossible for people to believe her and her family.

Both Gbenga and Moji are wrong. Moji looked whilst her husband involved himself with fraud.

In Ghana where I live this technique is used against the Opposition. When a good story breaks they attack the carrier of the news not the news. The Carrier of the news spends time to fight off the news.

Now I will ask you.

It is very easy for OBJ to Sleep with his Daughter In law and for the Father to sleep with her That means MOJI Must be very Great also?

'The army chief’s decision to severely punish those found guilty came against the background of appeals by relations and many influential personalities, including traditional rulers, governors and politicians, that he should be lenient with the accused officers'

It is Up to Yar Adua This is how this traditional leaders keep begging and the nations burns.
Yaradua better learn from OBJ. The Royal Fathers will not be there when the accounts are checked. If they were not caught would the royal fathers say anything?

Gbenga is the one who blasted Atiku is that interview describing him as greedy, thinking the Presidency is his birthright.

It seems you dont know anything Atiku or even about politics.

Remember Bola Tinubu saying that Atiku was Greedy and other very derogatory remarks? yet he supported Atiku. In politics if your enemy is my enemy i am your friend then.

Public statement is a political tool of winning confidence.

WHEN THE GOING WAS GOOD

The Action Congress (AC), Lagos Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and an Atiku group, Atiku Consensus Movement (ACM) declared that their presidential standard bearer’s disqualification would not stand, warning that they could no longer guarantee that AC supporters "will take things in their stride without venting their anger."

INEC chairman said while releasing the list that the commission was taking this action bearing in mind that it is being guided by the Constitution and the Electoral Act and therefore had no apology, since the aim is to deliver a transparent, free and fair election in line with constitutional provisions.
Also released were names of cleared party candidates for the Senatorial and House of Representatives election.
Going by the list, three presidential candidates were not cleared as 27 parties were said to have fielded candidates for verification and clearance by the commission.

In a sharp move that contradicted its earlier stand that only the courts could validate the eligibility of the Vice-President and others indicted in the government white paper, Professor Iwu maintained with emphasis that his commission would rather appeal than obey any court ruling bordering on substitution or clearing of candidate to contest election, so as not to cause distraction and scuttle the election.
Pointing out that the constitution itself did not give room for the postponement of elections, Prof. Iwu said "to avoid further distractions from our strategic plan, the commission as a policy has resolved to contest every court decision rendered after the time limit set by the Electoral Act for substitution of candidates."

•Speaks on Atiku, OGD

Former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has rejected the notion that the administration of President Umaru Yar’Adua is slow.

Rather, Tinubu said the former Katsina State governor was being bugged down by the defective structures he inherited from Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as well as a maze of bureaucratic bottlenecks.

It was his view that Yar’Adua was deliberately being careful so as not to be trapped by this unnecessary web of bureaucracy.
While expressing belief that the President would device a way of beating the trap of bureaucracy, he said: “The Yar'Adua that I know is a methodical person. He is not impulsive. He is a sincere human being, not hypocritical, a careful listener, very scientific in his approach.”

Disagreeing with those who hold the opinion that the President is slow, Tinubu contended that “on the contrary, I want to believe that perhaps the structures he inherited are rather defective. Look at the energy sector, for instance. There are too many layers of regulation such that if you are not careful and smart, this web of unnecessary bureaucracy traps you. That is what is slowing action down.”

Speaking on reports that suggest a frost in his relationship with former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar over the politics of the Action Congress (AC), Tinubu said there was no such thing.
Explaining that his relationship with Atiku went beyond politics, the former Lagos State helmsman said disagreeing politically with the Turakin Adamawa does not affect their relationship.
According to him, the reports of a fall-out with Atiku “are being promoted by idle minds that believe that is the only way they can be relevant. In any case, the relationship between Atiku and I goes beyond politics. We are like brothers.”

Continuing, he said: “As human beings, we are bound to have disagreements, politically. But that is not to say we have personal animosity towards each other. Yes, people have the right to disagree on some issues. But you disagree to agree. We disagree to strengthen our agreement the more.”
He also spoke on life after office, the seeming face-off between him and Ogun State governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel on one hand and that between him and Osun State governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola on the other.
Excerpts:

You’ve been out of power in Lagos for six months now. How has it been since some people say it could be quite traumatic?
To me it is not traumatic. I feel fulfilled and very successful as an administrator who had served the mandate of the people. Successful not because of the brick and mortal alone but also steel and metal. What I have been able to achieve in re-engineering the government and the system of governance in the state is clear for people to see. No matter what your achievement is in the area of brick and mortal – how many roads, houses and bridges you built – you are not completely successful unless you develop steel and metal. I have won elections three times.

When I came in, we defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In 2003, we defeated PDP. In 2007, we defeated PDP roundly. In fact, the margin of victory was far higher and I have a capable man (Governor Babatunde Fashola) who has taken over the administration of this state. He is doing an excellent job in terms of coordination, performance and repositioning the state. He has an agenda for the rapid development and modernisation of the state. He is doing a fantastic job. People can see for themselves if I am successful or not. Out of power, you can see that I am relaxing. I am happy and feel fulfilled.

Often times we hear stories about successors and predecessors falling out. Since you left government is it that you’ve not had problems with Governor Fashola and have you not been interfering with his job?
When he seeks my advice I give it to him. You will be an insane person to say you cannot draw from the wisdom of you predecessor. Don’t forget that I worked with him before and if I don’t have the level of confidence, respect and trust for his integrity and entire character I would not have worked for him. I did. What would be the basis of conflict? I’m not struggling to become a governor again. I won’t. I am looking for the next level and whatever that one brings could be a successful retirement. That also is another level. I will definitely continue to do politics. He is doing a good job. Recently, he announced the best budget that you can think for this state, which is a launching pad.

He inherited a successful administration with a well-trained public service. He has the mandate of the people, not necessarily my mandate but only my endorsement. And his performance rating is excellent so far. He is well focused. He has the intellectual capacity and the integrity to govern the state and take it to the next level. So, people might be expecting that conflict. They could even try and stoke it. They wouldn’t have it because we are in harmony. I’ve the confidence, in fact, it is my prayer that he does better than me. That will be a source of pride to me. The prayer of a dad is that his offspring should be greater than him. That is my prayer for Governor Fashola. This is the only way Lagosians and Nigerians in general would be very proud of me. When I made the recommendation or endorsed him to be the governor of the state people responded positively and voted for our party. They voted him into power with an unimaginable margin of victory. I should be happy for that. I should support and encourage him whenever it’s necessary to succeed many times over. That is what I am going to do.

Recently, many states conducted elections into local councils and the report was discouraging because of alleged rigging despite the pledge by President Yar’Adua to reform the electoral process following the rigging that attended the 2007 general election. What does this portend?
Oh! It is rather unfortunate that they had to conduct the elections when many of them have cases at the tribunal. This is an attempt to consolidate. It is an abuse of power. Not knowing what the result of the tribunal would be, they are trying to install their puppets at the local government level through irregular elections. It is not acceptable to Nigerians. We have demonstrated the commitment and discipline necessary for good governance and good political environment. We have not even paid attention to the Electoral Reform Panel and what it will bring. To me, the local government elections conducted in some states were a farce.

People are calling for outright cancellation. Do you support such calls?
If government changes and you feel it’s illegal you probably should go to court and challenge the election. If not, the future would tell. We may reshape Nigeria from the electoral tribunals and the political reform panel because the political landscape of the country needs to be reshaped to make it democratic. Anyway, they were in control of the various local governments before conducting the elections because they appointed executive secretaries or administrators. You can see that is unconstitutional because of the requirement of the constitution at the local government which says it should be governed by democratically elected executive chairmen. They did not follow the proper democratic procedure and the values expected from it. They are wrong. This is why legitimacy or illegitimacy of their elections is still a question being looked at at various tribunals.

PoliticsRe: Obj's First Son Accused Him Of Sleeping With His Wife by Backslider(m): 8:26pm On Jan 18, 2008
http://www.champion-newspapers.com/news/article_2.htm

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Chief Orji Kalu yesterday took a swipe at former President Olusegun Obasanjo, for alleging that he incited Gbenga Obasanjo to accuse his father of committing incest.

Kalu, immediate past governor of Abia State also faulted claims by Obasanjo’s family in Ogun State in dismissing Gbenga’s sworn affidavit that the father slept with his wife, Mrs Mojishola Obasanjo.

Kalu advised Nigerians to take Gbenga Obasanjo more seriously than the father as the former is more forthright especially when such sensitive issues like age declaration and incest are involved.

According to newspapers reports, Obasanjo had accused the press of being antagonistic to him and his family, alleging that Kalu masterminded the affidavit Gbenga deposed to at the Lagos High Court to rubbish his name.

The family of former President Obasanjo (the Olusomis)and Chief Femi Majekodunmi, according to reports had described Gbenga Obasanjo’s allegation that his father slept with his wife as a blatant lie.

Their reaction came even as prominent kinsmen of Chief Obasanjo, especially his relations declined comment on the issue, saying it is non- cultural in Yorubaland, to speak on matter of such biological magnitude.

Baring the mind of the Olusomi family on the issue, the former president’s cousin who also doubles as the Jagunmolu of Owu, Chief Shehu Oladunjoye said Gbenga’s allegation was "spuriously baseless".

But the former governor Kalu, who spoke to State House Correspondents after a meeting with President Umaru Yar’Adua, at the Presidential Villa, declared that Obasanjo should address very important issues that were raised by his son rather than chasing shadows.

"Mind you that Dr. Gbanga Obasanjo is also a forthright person in speaking his opinion like when his father said he was 65 years he said no that he was about 75. So you should take him the way you see him. I have no hands whatsoever in what happened.

"I want to tell you confidently I am a man who speaks the truth and I am man who tries to say what is right. Contrary to the opinion of the former president, I have not seen his son since last year January. I saw him late last year January. I talked to him last, last year January. So it is not possible for me to have instigated him against his father".

He said: "It is not only that the former president has commissioned so many articles against me in the newspapers and everywhere, but within my conscience, I have not seen his son for about a year . I have not seen him. I have not talked to him even on the phone in the last one year. How his son got an affidavit against his father is what I don’t know and how Sun newspaper published it against his father is what I don’t know. But you know the former president has a right to say whatever, that is his opinion".

Speaking on the recent travails of the former EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu, Kalu declared that "EFCC chairman is a very good worker but he mixing politics with business. He could have been very fantastic with his job. When he started, he started very well and I supported him. But missing politics with business is not the best.

The politician expressed surprise that the federal government was yet to institute a probe panel against the former president when it is obviouse that a lot of sharp practices were allegedly perpetrated by him in the last eight years.

He called for the probe of the last Plateau State crises where Obasanjo and others violated the constitution against former Governor Joshua Dariye; insisting that "Obasanjo and all other culprits in that occasion should be punished because they have gone against the constitution, including the EFCC, including Mr. Ribadu. That is the truth.

"President Obasanjo set up a panel against Abacha. He set one against Abudusalami and why won’t we set panel against him? Because he has always been right while other people are wrong. I don’t feel it is the right thing for him not to be probed. If you don’t probe him it means the anti-corruption has no value and we are not fighting any corruption because the corruption is about 79 per cent in the federal government and 21 in the states.

"I think the right thing to do is for the federal government to institute a different body to try this case, to try President Obasanjo. If you are doing all these things and you have not tried this man then, what are you doing?"

Many people have been calling for the investigation of the former president.

"I am surprised that by now that the so-called EFCC and ICPC are coming to a state like Abia when the total budget of the state in eight years is just one parastatal in the federal government. One year total budget of a parastatal is the total budget of Abia in eight years," he said.

Kalu noted with dismay the rather low response by former governors on the EFCC invasion of states in the past until recently when they have become victims; saying that "it is just that my former colleagues I would say, are not fighters because if they are fighters, what is happening to them will not happen"

He expressed confidence and satisfaction with the level of sincerity President Yar’Adua attaches to the war against corruption; stressing that "Mr. President was very forthright and my governor even told me and Mr. President has reconfirmed. He was very forthright about corruption.

"I think we should look forward to electoral reform panel headed by former Chief Justice of the Federation Lawal Uwais. Let’s see what they will come out with. Unless President Yar’Adua addresse the issue of electoral reform properly, what is happening elsewhere like Kenya should be a child’s play. We know why we kept quiet.

Meanwhile, Kalu, currently standing trial for alleged theft of N2.8 billion belonging to the state yesterday warned that the present political violence is in Kenya may engulf Nigeria in the future if concrete steps are not taken to avert such a situation.

Kalu who was slammed with 107 count charged by the EFCC spoke in an interview in Abuja yesterday immediately his trial was adjourned to February 12, 2008. He agreed that some governors stole some public funds but asked why some ministers and former President Obasanjo whom he accused stealing could not be tried accordingly.

Kalu said the current crisis in Kenya would be a child’s play, compared to what would happen here "until they start bringing those main people that stole money we would not be happy.," he said

In the proceedings yesterday, Counsel to EFCC, Rotimi Jacobs told the court presided over by Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako that they were only served on January 16, 2008, with the copies of Kalu’s affidavit praying the court to halt the trial because of a pending order made by an Umuahia High Court restraining EFCC from investigating, arresting or prosecuting him pending the determination of the suit at that court.

EFCC’s lawyer who noted that he statutorily has seven days to file his reply to Kalu’s defence pleaded with the court to give him more time to turn in his reply, and that was allowed.

Similarly, the trial of former governor of Taraba State , Rev. Jolly Nyame was stalled yesterday before a high court sitting in Gudu District in Abuja following a ruling on an application to stay proceedings in the matter which was filed by the accused person.

The application to stay proceedings was consequent upon another ruling delivered by the high court wherein Justice Adebukola Banjoko held that the court was competent to try the former governor. Nyame in his submissions before the court had argued that the 41-count charge of corruption levelled against him by EFCC did not take place in Abuja and that the court lacked the jurisdiction to try him pointing out that if at all he committed the said offence it was only right for a court in Taraba to try him,

Not satisfied with the ruling, Nyame filed an appeal in Abuja and the hearing of the appeal is still awaited.

Also in a related development, the trial of the former governor of Jigawa state, Alh.Saminu Turaki has been adjourned to February 23, 2008.

Your Ill gotten wealth will not do your fellow man well.

The people of the ballistic should be treated well.

Any man that is ready to die for Nigeria should be paid Highly.

This mentality that the Military is just a brute force should stop.

The force should be a high paid Job more than the MP.

I am not tired is saying this

He that can Take and protect life by putting his own life in Danger should be paid highest

He that can sentence you to death should be taken care of (Judge)

He that can safe life (Doctor)

He that molds life (teacher)

To have civil populace this is what must be taken care of We should not just give money.

but we must attach a degree of morality.

Where if you must join the police force for instance you must have 5 distinctions. Police is the highest civil authority. You can not take out morality.

Just Look at what this officers have done. The armed men are not Invincible our men have lost the morality to fight evil.

Just look at how this men have dishonored themselves their family and their regiment.

This is so shameful.

See what the love of money does. This is very bad they should show this men as an example. If we have this in the Military what about the Civil authority.

This is what makes Young soldier take arms to want to overthrow the senior men.
PoliticsThe Nigerian Police: The Highest Civil Rank Nigerians Should Seek by Backslider(op): 8:39pm On Jan 14, 2008
Apparently pained by what has come to be described as a prostrate force parading itself as Nigeria Police Force, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua last week inaugurated a Police Reform Panel. Headed by Alhaji M.D. Yusufu, a former Inspector General of Police (IGP), the presidential panel was charged to: "Examine the present state of the Nigeria Police and review previous efforts, reports and government white papers on the reorganization, restructuring and repositioning of the Nigeria Police; identify and recommend definitive, measurable and practical measures for the enhancement of effective police service delivery, including possible areas of assistance from our development partners; examine and recommend measures needed for the complete transformation of the Nigeria Police into an efficient and proficient agency for the effective maintenance of law and order in the country; and make any other recommendation deemed necessary by the committee."

Given our more than passing concern with the problems of the Nigeria Police as articulated in numerous editorials, we cannot but support the President’s view and appreciate his anxieties. Over the years successive administrations have been paying lip-service to the security situation in the country ostensibly because government officials feel protected as policemen are assigned to them while the rest are all over the place extorting money from motorists with the lust to kill innocent Nigerians. It seems the present administration has suddenly woken up to the full import of the unqualified decay burrowing into the very heart of the nation’s security bulwark, rousing itself to the realisation that the nation is confronted with a clear and present danger. We recall that government had in the past set up similar committees just as it did constitute two panels to raise funds to salvage the declining manpower and equipment capability of the Nigeria Police Force so that it can perform optimally.

Yet, unfortunately, while Nigerians are yet to be briefed on how far previous committees had gone, the Force remains largely under-funded, under-motivated, and under-equipped. Nigerians had thought that sequel to the White Paper on the report of the Mohammad Danmadami-led Presidential Committee on Police Reform submitted to the Federal Government in 2006, government would swing into action by setting aside funds through a speedy enactment of the Police Trust Fund Bill to tackle the problems of police funding and equipment.

We urge government to see the current Police Reform Panel as a platform for the implementation of all the best possible suggestions and views by previous committees and opinion leaders since the time when the military deliberately choked the Force into obscurity in order to avert any possible rivalry from any quarters. An administration which has made the revamping of the national economy a cardinal point cannot afford to leave the internal security of the nation at the altar of providence knowing full well that a country with alarming rate of insecurity such as ours can hardly attract investors.

We risk monotony in saying that the Nigeria Police is in dire need of an all-encompassing surgical operation. Not only does the recruitment policy need proper examination, the administration, operations and control vis-‡-vis intelligence and investigative capabilities of the Force must be critically re-appraised. The pragmatism and urgency expected of the Yar’Adua administration in dealing with the problems of the Police were somewhat delayed. Since the transition to the current dispensation in May, last year, chilling accounts of mayhem unleashed on the people by men of the underworld have become a dominant issue in the media. During this period Nigerians have seen lawlessness and disorder displayed by these criminals in a brazen manner.

More than 200 policemen have been mowed down by armed robbers in the past few months. The blood-thirsty robbers employ a combination of cluster attacks and a touch of terrorism which they religiously observe as the maniacal fury that characterises all their attacks. To ensure their free reign on banks, churches and petrol service stations, these criminals strive to render the police weak physically and psychologically.

But what is most appalling is the ease with which the robbers kill and even disarm their preys. A combination of bestiality and drunkenness has overtaken the land. Yet the first test of any well-governed society is seen in the security of the citizenry. What happened to the Marine and Air Wings of the Force which could have been used to fight urban crimes and criminality by hoodlums in the creeks who call themselves militants?

While we salute the courage of the President in admitting that Nigeria has no functional policing system, we insist that the country deserves a better structured policing arrangement than we have had since Independence. A federation this large will hardly function optimally with this huge, centralized Police Force. In short, the country must be returned to the policing formula that recognizes the imperative of federal, regional or state and local government police formations. We therefore counsel that it is incumbent on the panelists some of whom presided over the fall of the Nigeria Police, to leave no stone unturned until the Force is returned to its halcyon days when it earned its deserved respect from members of the public.

What is a man life worth when he cant make his follow man happy. A lawyer can serve his community a doctor wont look into the smelly mouth of a mere common agbero that wont say thank you.

LOVE is missing

Unless we bless Nigeria with out heart and mouth there is no way.

The Blood of Jesus is the very Life of Jesus himself as a man.

Any can plead the blood of Jesus.

The Devil is Afraid of the Blood because it is the Signature that Jesus Lost his Life for Man.

I will plead the Blood for it says when I see the blood I will PASSOVER.

For without the Shedding of blood there is no remission of sin.

Pastor Chris can heal with false spirit so please dont bring that Healing thing here.

Who can do miracle more than my God Jesus.

Everything is pointing to Pastor Chris Not Jesus it shows me the Spirit you and Pastor Chris has.

It says the Holy Ghost will teach you of Me (Jesus)

Killing all the Corrupt people by Jungle Justice will never work.

Rawlings is now Satan's Younger brother in Ghana. He is disgraced to the Highest level.

Our Black Heroes are Eroded by the desire for wealth. The Solution is to look at the Younger Ones.

When Rawlings Speak the media spends days talking about him. The GOV set up a reconciliation committee to ridicule him.

You wonder whether Rawlings was still ruling

You are talking on both sides of your Mouth.

We will know who is corrupt.
If it is Umar I know that served in the Army wether it was the mechanised Division or Amphibious cant recollect now. I am not sure it is him.

Or May be it is the whole decoy.

If Obj is Corrupt ribadu would have said so. Ribadu is not Afraid to die like some of us chickens for what we will eat.

When a Black man makes mistakes By TRYING TO COPY PEOPLE THEY SAY ALL KINDS OF THINGS.

Just try and Check out the mistake and catastrophe of other race that even cost lives.

When a man tries something lets us encourage him. Dont let us make example of failure. This is what FELA Left us. Looking at a fault and glorifying it.

people of Nigeria

The problem is corruption Corruption and only corruption.

You can go to be the president if you have Thieves as your adviser you will go no where.

Why do we as Nigerians Just not say the truth.

People are corrupting other people. This is what I call babagidaism. Let the people steal small and I steal big Chop I Chop syndrome.

I blame OBJ for Under estimating corruption.

If you were the president I you gave a contract of $400million to a man you trust and he ends up squandering the money only to bring rubish what do you do?

Take a gun and kill him?

You must follow due process and the court and media are the most muderously corrupt set of people.  If we have men that love God and man in the media and the courts then Nigeria has hope.

No amount of war against corruption can clear the evil. Somany people of the Efcc have been mudered no one says nothing. The warriors that shed their blood for Nigeria to clean it out are the evil people.

The court is corrupt the media is on the payroll of the corrupt men.

The evil men are having a field day and no one is ready to help us. There is no man that can work and say i am ready to do it not for the money.

If OBJ had looked for 1 million men like  NUHU may be it would have been better. He could not have been able to get them because Nuhu is a rare specie.

Obj should have trained 14 year olds that have not been corrupted by the time he is leaving office they will be 22years old. There no honest men again, all seek money that is why we are in Darkness.

Money and education doesnot make happiness it is Honesty. Yaradua may fail if the problem of corruption is not dealt with.

You do a contract and you send people to spoilt so that you take money again.

Why I blame Obj is that he did not train men that

My dear Ono

To Own The oil will take Sincerity Honesty and commitment among people of this area. Because of the corruptibility of the adults it is better to use the young men.

What you do is to set up chains of cells that will be an enterprise.

The aim and objectives will be

1) Education in Business of Oil
2) Technical exoertise in Oil Exploration
3) Advanced Expertise In Oil Exploration( OIL SCIENTIST and Engineers)

Education is the Business aspect of Petroleum

When you set a company with men that can handle the finance aspect of oil you have a corporate entity that can stand in the Niger delta people will run to the Niger delta.

You set up a company with softer terms that other would give.

You know the workings of selling oil and you are more efficient than any one else.

You miust train youths in the area of economics that will be selfless because the goal is to dominate the oil business.

Technical Expertise

This will involve training young men FREE of Charge. Setting up a Petroleum Training Institute set up By the people of the delta no white man or government. The people must look for means. and the trained people are employed by the companies set up.

You will say that people will not give you the Job no they will because you have trained your people with lots of code of ethics.

I thought you were savvy to understand how to ask how. This cheap tribalism you play don't move me. You want to kill people to own the oil?

Which yorubas? Oh they make a meeting to say you should not own your oil economically. They say you should not build schools where you only learn about Petroleum?

The resources that have been given we know where they are. don't push that here we are smarter than that. dont make it look like we dont know anything about the delta. My step mum was a deltarian.
PoliticsRe: Chief Obafemi Awolowo: National Hero Or Villain? by Backslider(m): 2:02pm On Dec 31, 2007
Awolowo was a politician. He was not the type of now a days. he was no Hero to me he did his Job.

I as a Yoruba do believe that the Heroes are in those that suffered under the stealing government IBB and Abacha.

I know some Igbo beleive that Awolowo was a Traitor and it sets the tone to make Yoruba Look like the Yoruba Yoruba Cowards or what I call the efemanu Stereotype.

The truth I will repeat is that Ojukwu was never interested in Igbo people. Every Igbo at the time knows this. But It was right for him to stand for any tribe of Nigeria not on tribal ground though. Ojukwu Ambition made Awo look very bad.

1) Awo was a civilian knew next to nothing about warfare
2) Awo lived in a heavily equiped army Zone. Even Ojukwu could not start the war there.
3) Ojukwu should have planned this for years if he really wanted to secede
4) Ojukwu in the light that he had very little equipment is a HERO.
5) OJUKWU however made people die unneccessarily.

As Soldier you are to defend the integrity of the nation.

It is however painful that we have not learnt anytime from the war.

There should have been the martial plan to make us close our tribal ranks. IGBOS HAVE THE RIGHT TO MOVE ANYWHERE IN NIGERIA THE FACT THAT WE YORUBAS DON'T MOVE AROUND DOE NOT MEAN OTHER SHOULD NOT MOVE.

How do we do this?

make it compulsory that every police man
student
soldier
political office holder

must be proficient in any three nigerian languges

You must set up language schools to achieve this.
PoliticsRe: Why Yar’adua Wants Ribadu Out - Plans To Prosecute Obasanjo, Ribadu And El-rufai by Backslider(m): 1:33pm On Dec 31, 2007
I am thinking aloud here.

all this move is to allow for time to pass so that Atiku will soften his stance. The big heads is what is holding Yaradua. Let us Give him time. he needs to be strong on the government.

Baba hands are deep in this but the game must be played like it is real. You must play Good cop bad Cop. Yaradua Carrot is what you are seeing. He needs it because he must be in control.

The Big heads have an Army of corrupt people.
PoliticsRe: Pictures From Niger Delta by Backslider(m): 1:22pm On Dec 31, 2007
@ Ono

The whole matter bowls down to corruption. If a leadership is corrupt or perceived to be corrupt there will be corruption multiplied in many fold.

I am very happy that there is one thing that you cant put at Yaradua side is corruption. Now Ono you have to know when you take out corruption and put rule of law very little will be plenty.

I have lived in other places that have no oil but they are doing well. if the Niger delta can convert themselves into a business block by Their ownselves and not sell their birthright then they can make it.

Yes the Business of oil has gone far now you need to organise yourself. Carrying guns will only make you get raw cash that you will end up spending and you will go for more.

You need to Own the OIL BUT IT MUST BE ECONOMICALLY OWNED NOT MILITARILY. If you have the local expertise to explore oil you will be able to be useful to nigeria when oil is discovered in other places. Your experise is needed you need to build yourself up.

we should have had 4 petroluem universities by now in the NIGER DELTA they should be turning out petroleum engineers in the world.

If they give you all the oil money you may end up killing yourselves. OWN THE OIL ECONOMICALLY!

Mckren

I agree with you. There must be sincerity. but you don't determine sincerity from a man face. OBJ was very sincere. But the contemporary war Machinery (The media) did not help him.

People have survived made wealth of immense proportion from Corruption. Yes there must be sincerity but there must also be impunity.

You must combine over strict regime with a sincere heart so that it will send a signal to people that want to go into this crime. The corrupt rich man own Newspapers Media houses. Imagine That? what do you expect the people to hear. Read Big b1 and see where he said dealing with Fayose and Ibori was not the right way to go. openly condoning corruption! If he made money of corruption and owned a newspaper or was the proprietor of a media house Imagine what he would be writing about people facing court cases.

If Fayose goes to jail It means people like Tinubu will have there share

I dont care if OBJ stole Money.

He was a Sincere "criminal" that wanted Justice.

I will agree with a an ex convict that seeks sincere change and deals with criminals than a man holy man that condones corruption.
PoliticsRe: Police: Attitudes And Characters by Backslider(m): 7:23pm On Dec 30, 2007
I have written about the problem of the police.

The problem of the police is one that has its root in colonialism.

The Idea of what a police service not a police force should be is one that stem from colonial upbringing.

This thing has eaten into the heads of the black race. The police was used to put us into subjection for hundreds of years.

what we should do now is to know that the police should be the most important man in the civil ladder.

They must be paid more than any one in the civil service.

They must have the Highest education.

They must have all the benefits and incentives that the MP have or Had.

If we Civilians cant handle ourselves then I wonder how be can progress.

It is the truth that The Highest Civil Person should be the policeman why?

Police
1) His Life is at risk
2) He saves Life
3) He is a Mini Judge or Morality and conduct

Doctor

He saves Live only

Teacher

He Models life

Lawyer /Judge

They determine where you will spend your life or dead

This thing about Nigeria that when something starts well you expect there should be no mistake.

people err and that is why there is the law.

Our Lawyer eat their cake and still want to have it.

Look at Innocent people in Jail and yet we have loads of Lawyers turned out on the people money.

this is the Injustice of the Elite.

Our Knowledge does not save people it rather shows off and terrorize the poor.
