Bluntemperor: What Is OBJ saying? Is it that he did not benefits from it,for 8- yrs ,he was traveling up and down and could not established Industries for the Youths, nor did he deepened the Democracy he benefited from! How did he got a University? How did he got a Presidential Library and almost got 3rd - Terms of of his own Agenda? So,a leader sees a Country as good but once he leaves the Office, Democracy is not good, abi? African Leaders are funny,o! Did you obey the Rules of Democracy- of Majority and by Majority- so during your time,no Rigging? You benefited as a Military and also as Civilian President but Nigerians don't feel the Economic Impacts or any Legacies left behind, so what is Baba OBJ telling us now? When you people were there in Govt - how many Refineries were Functional, How many Roads were Completed in the South West- your domain because the People in the S/ West did not votes your Party- PDP,but if you had done the needful, today People will be proud of you! If Democracy is not Working,it's because of the African Leaders are full of - Corruption,Greed, Politics-with Bitterness, Deception of the Masses etc, even the Youths are deceived by their own gauliblility! That's the more reason Tinubu commands respect in Southwest more than OBJ. Southwest see Tinubu as the leader of Yorubas and not Obasanjo. OBJ truly has international recognition being a past president but he has no electoral influence or weight in the southwest. |

Many of the State governors are culpable and governing as if Nigeria is a lawless society. Lagos State govt should value those properties and pay even if it is just 50% compensation for the owners to relieve them of their loss. Pulling down people's houses without compensation of any sort is a form of wickedness with no human feelings. It's not easy to build house this period especially by people making their money legally. Let's pity people especially when we are making decisions that can affect their livelihood. |

DeLaRue: When you run the judiciary, and by implication the Nigerian legal profession down before such an important international audience, is it any surprise that education and work experience obtained in Nigeria is often not recognised abroad?
Do Ghanaian, South African, Kenyan, Indian, Sri Lanka etc lawyers also run to international forums to condemn their country 's judiciary is such generalised way?
Are Nigerian judges more corrupt than Indian judges for example.
The country desperately needs investment, both local and international. How do you think potential international investors will feel hearing your unguarded, unjustified generalisations.
All because you are a Labour Party politician.
You are a disgrace Mr Akpata. His disgrace at the polls would be monumental. |

garriAndsugar: Jonathan was a weakling that handed power over to APC. Stop making useless comparison This is not a matter of weakling. Buhari defeated Jonathan in the presidential election and he had no choice than to relinquish power. If Jonathan had brought Tinubu to his side and concede some post to him, he wouldn't have lost that election. The fact is you don't underrate an opposition leader who had almost 5 or 6 states under his control and those states are swing states that can determine the winner or loser of the presidential elections. |

If not because of the inefficiency in govt owned businesses, he wouldn't have a point to make. Govt can enter into public-private partnership to guarantee efficiency in the running of the national carrier. The owner of Peace Airline will want to protect his own business as any effort by the govt to start it's own airline operations will be a big threat to him. |

Preferito: There is a new wave of politicking that APC is using and it's dangerous to our democracy. That is the use of judicial technicalities to swing judgement in their favour. Election is no longer won at the polling unit, especially for the opposition parties. Also the inflation of figures at its strongholds and suppression of voters at the oppositions strongholds is what they use to achieve their results. Have you asked what happened in the two local govts the court request elections be conducted again? Probably there were over voting or some irregularities. |

If majority of government parastatals can work and function the way commercial banks operate in Nigeria, there will be efficiency at least to some extent. But the mindset that whether they work or not, they'll receive their salaries at month end should be discouraged. The govt should introduce an appraisal system carried out by external consultants to track their performance and also ensure they are well remunerated. |

epainos: Nigeria is an abnormal society. Read comments of m.ad people like the man above justifying his action. There are other ways of disciplining the girl, but the useless man as usual wanted to prove he is older than the girl. It is the right of the girl to defend herself from him. What about sending her out of the class. And if she doesnt walk out, he walks out and then take the right action. But he chose to force his will by laying his hands on the girl. And mum.u above just like the man are supporting the act. This is why they go to jail abroad. See eh...Nigeria is an abnormal society. This is why I dont regard anyone above 60. They are useless. Why? Na dem spoil Naija. Na dem holy pass...na dem sabi all...na dem want respect pass....but with the present state of Nigeria and with all the goodies available to them before and after independence. .look at where Nigeria is. Yet, they are still demanding respect. That generation is so manipulative. They use everything tovforce their will on people. If their useless words doesnt make sense, the next is to abuse the person by laying their hands on the victim. They dont mind using religious books to brain wash people. This generation ma.d oooò The portion they know in the Bible is honor your parents so your days may be long..if you quote parents, respect and love your children...they go go wild ni. Very selfish generation. They destroyed Nigeria. I pray the parents of the girl are well doing so they can treat the mess up of that useless ma d man. Just imagine...becos he thinks he is the alpha and omega in the class...he does not recognise the girl as an adult. Simple...use your authority and send her out of the class. Period. I know many lecturers who stepped aside until the kids walked out. Na the kids begged later because they kept sending the kids out of the class. Simple as ABC. That is the authority this man has. And it ends there. If the kid is useless and does not want to learn, it is automatic F. Period. But laying hands on the girl (an adult), this man needs to go to jail. But it is Naija na where abnormal people like those who have made comments above live. Werey plenty in naija Oga, the moral decadence in Abroad is alarming. All in an attempt to guarantee child right, they spoil their children and you find it difficult to castigate them when they go wayward. You see kids disturbing the class, kids smoking and committing atrocities and you dare not challenge them. The one that pain me most in their law is you can't challenge or confront shop lifters( a stranger coming in to your supermarket to steal), imagine the audacity, can such happen in Nigeria without the thief getting the beating of his life. See, Naija is still far better compared to most of these advanced nations when it comes to Moral decadence. |

Igbo women consider Yoruba men only when their chances of getting Igbo men are very low. Especially, when it is due to certain traditional reasons which I won't mention here.
However, on the contrary, Yoruba men who succeed in marrying Igbo women see it as a great achievement.
These are facts no one would argue except ignorant ones. You may think you have made a reasonable point but may I ask what is the great achievement in marrying an Igbo woman? Tell us what benefits someone like me will get if I decide to marry an Igbo lady. |

If we continue this gradual process, the rate of road damaging will be higher than the rate of repair and we would eventually be back to mbadinuju. I personally thought he will maintain status quo at least. Well, I'm not from the East and can't tell if Soludo is gradually meeting peoples expectations within the short period he had spent. However, if he inherited good roads from his predecessor and the roads are currently getting bad, does it mean he will not touch or repair it? People should know all critical projects cannot be done at once. I believe criticizing him will spur him to deliver. When people start criticizing a sitting governor, in fact it's an avenue for those working with him and have presence on social media like nairaland to call the governor's attention to it so he can do the needful. |
