sigiyaya:Technically i am not a Nigerian. I choose to be when it suits me. And also, you fail to understand that it is not about you or me but US collectively. You all still don't get it. The way the outside world is, is that they don't care if you as an individual is the most honest Nigerian on the planet. What they care about is, are Nigerians in general corrupt? Most people will say all Americans support homosexuality because it is legal right? This is the perception of the outside world. Individually, a lot of Americans are against it. As long as there are policemen shamelessly asking for bribe and politicians flagrantly looting the country, the outside world will continue to see Nigerians as corrupt. The reason why Nigerians don't want to accept collective responsibility is because a lot of them think of only themselves. Most don't even consider themselves Nigerians. If they did, there would be less tribalism. |
Untainted007:What is this one talking about? Haven't you heard that seun gives ten thousand dollars to every FTC? Bros wake up oooooo. ![]() |
sigiyaya:Some questions you need to ask yourself. Are politicians looting the country like crazy? Are policemen asking for bribes publicly and without shame? Does the country have a culture of jungle justice? Etc. You guys just don't get it. These things that seem normal to you is seen as abnormal to the outside world. Even if you deny what is obvious to everybody, the Internet is there. The outside world is seeing all that is happening in Nigeria and denying it does not make any sense. |
oteneaaron:It means that the EFCC has presented all it's evidence and it is up to the defence to disprove it and as well as the court to find him guilty or not guilty as the case may be. |
MrWhaley:Oh my. Isn't "pathetic" too much of a big word for you? Your head must be hurting right now. Tone it down a 'notch. |
MrWhaley:'atta boy, now you're learning. |
MrWhaley:If you don't understand literature with a hint of humour, then i can't help you. If you actually took my post seriously, then i suggest you ask for a refund of you tuition fees. They cheated you. |
ijustdey:Lol. . .Zika virus in Nigeria. You think? Where is the mosquito capital of the word? |
Legs and a well formed butt. But, alas, i'm taken. |
Nosaghae:You got ashy hands. Find a good most moisturiser. |
360metrosports:Inmates in Nigeria don't get fed in the true sense. The prisoners provide their own ingredients smuggled in and cook their own food most of the time. |
flokii:What do you mean "their own lands". I think you mean to say that "when will Nigeria start to develop it's country". When will you people understand that as it is, sink or swim, you are all in this boat together? |
chowlade:"The exiled Prince Ekaladerhan died at Ogheton. Oranmiyan took up his abode in the palace built for him at Usama by the elders (now a coronation shrine). Soon after his arrival he married a beautiful lady, Erinmwinde, daughter of Osa-nego, was the ninth Enogie (Duke) of Ego, by whom he had a son. After some years residence here he called a meeting of the people and renounced his office, remarking that the country was a land of vexation, Ile-Ibinu (by which name the country was afterward known) and that only a child born, trained and educated in the arts and mysteries of the land could reign over the people. He caused his son born to him by Erinmwinde to be made King in his place, and returned to Yoruba land Ile-Ife. After some years in Ife, he left for Oyo, where he also left a son behind on leaving the place, and his son Ajaka ultimately became the first Alafin of Oyo of the present line, while Oranmiyan himself was reigning as Oni of Ife. Therefore, Oranmiyan of Ife, the father of Eweka I, the Oba of Benin, was also the father of Ajaka, the first Alafin of Oyo. Oni of Ife and Alafe of Oyo is a Bini spoken language all the Kings title in Southerner are Edo Language. In Nigeria Edo has the greatest and rich culture and most influence in West Africa and powerful King in Nigeria" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benin_Empire |
Cutehector:You need to go out more. |
Poverty has clouded the minds of most people in Nigeria. If i was part of his congregation i would feel outraged seeing these pictures. Just like the leadership in Nigeria; Nigerians deserve the leadership they have. |
arena2007:Like play, like play . . . . . . |
looseweight:Normally, the heavier vehicle has right of way. You don't "challenge" them. You get out of their way. |
yemaldo:For some reason, the airforce recruitment standards is always very strict all over the world. Maybe because they treat them better and their living standards is a lot higher than that of the army or navy. But if anyone is planning on joining the military, the airforce is the way to go. From an airforce brat. ![]() |
joseph1832:Dude, the bold statement makes no sense. Isn't fun and play the same thing? |
madridguy:Nigeria does not have half the trailers plying roads as much as Germany or the USA but you rarely hear of cases like this. It is just that the Government and people of Nigeria don't care or understand traffic safety or vehicular operation. |
TRADELYN:You can take a man out of the stone age, but you can't take the stone age out of the man. |
musicwriter:Have a good night. |
musicwriter:We have a saying; Leadership before like-manship. Leaders make tough decisions. Personally as a citizen i would ask where the money is coming from. I would rather he does reduce salaries than borrow billions of Naira, which he just did, so that my children don't have to pay it. When and how is he going to pay it back. He is just digging a hole for someone else to fill which is a pattern in Nigeria. 10 years from now when the next governor is swamped in debt, people will forget that because the present leader failed to make tough decisions and govern properly, their state is in disarray. |
musicwriter:I have led and trained dozens of men and women over the course of my career. It's my job so i think i know what i'm talking about. In normal societies, during elections, candidates will say anything and put on a good show to get elected which is why there are debates to determine if they actually have a plan. They show the masses that they are not planning to abandon their electorate by making tough decisions by instituting policies that impact their lives. In all my adult life, i have never seen this kind of showmanship from a governor in and out of Nigeria. in a normal society he would constitute an embarrassment at the very least, but Nigeria is not normal so anything goes. Leadership is all about navigating people through a desired path towards a desired goal. For the people of Ekit, where is the path and most importantly, where are the goals? |
musicwriter:I don't know why but this wave of pity overwhelms me whenever i see comments like this from Nigerians. You guys don't deserve good governance or leadership for that matter. How can a man be in election campaign mode from the time he was elected as governor. When will he have time to do what voters elected him to do? Musicwriter, you have absolutely no clue what leadership is about. No clue. |
bumi10:Once a snake eats, especially a python, it needs time to digest whatever it consumes, especially something this big. Anyway that is not my fear. My fear is this could easily have been a child. |
Imortal001:Local production and consumption is not the way to improve the strength of the Naira. Understanding taxation and proper implementation of it is the way forward. This is the backbone of every great nation in the world. The sooner Nigerians understand this very simple concept the better. |
catchfun:Isn't it funny? When Nigerians are dealing with normal nations they suddenly remember that there are ways to handle situations legally. But when it come to handle issues in Nigeria, common sense goes out the window. If it was a Nigerian blogger he'd be in jail right now forgetting that libel is a civil case. |
AZAJOBINSON:Lagos does not have half the trailers plying roads as much as Germany or the USA. It is just that the Government and people of Nigeria don't care or understand traffic safety or vehicular operation. |
GboyegaD:Why would you provide a story and not state all the facts? ![]() |
GboyegaD:It is for him to provide it with his initial post. I didn't ask for his story and we are not best friends. Isn't it convenient that he never gave any kind of credible or logical reasons for his wife's refusal? |
PROVACATEUR:You all still don't get it. The way the outside world is, is that they don't care if you as an individual is the most honest Nigerian on the planet.
