namfav:AMAKA, namfav is an id++t. The north is backwards period. He might win the arguement here on NL (like so many people did in the run up to the 9ja elections with all the BB rubbish), but facts remain facts and cannot change no matter how hard you argue. Girls hit puberty at 12? You make me sick!!! |

Jobless broke-*ss retards hiding behind the cloak of tribe. Why not talk about yourself and what you've achieved with your lives? I'm Yoruba so I'm better than you! I'm Ibo so I'm better than you! What a load of b**l Crap! You individual posters (yes you!), how much are you worth? What have you achieved in your life apart from coming up with ever creative ways of slagging off IBOs or YORUBAS? I'm sure you all go to bed feeling very satisfied with yourselves after a particularly scathing attack on IBOs or YORUBAs?, Surrounded by your frustrations, failures and poverty!!! Carry on though, at this rate you all be millionaires soon. Millionaires in your dream fantasy world were everything good is either Ibo or Yoruba, depending on which perverted side you stand. Yes, Ibos/Yorubas invented the wheel, electricity, the internal combustion engine, radio, television, steam engine, rocket propulsion etc, abi. Ibos/Yoruba cultures are the most progressive in the world as evidenced in the solid social structures and development in their country Nigeria. Meanwhile, the more pragmatic Ibos and Yorubas are out there making money, making real cash and Nigeria continues to be the hell hole it is Perhaps, your super rich kinsmen would some day reward you for typing endlessly to defend the reputation of your tribe and for 'finishing' those ghastly Ibos/Yorubas. Jeeeez!!! |
Hehehe! I wan die ![]() Scenario 1: Hao Ge is a Liberian who "adopted" the passport of a Nigerian - Uwechue Emmanuel, to gain entry into China. Scenario 2: Hao Ge is a Nigerian who creatively aquired a Liberian passport with his original name - Uwechue Emmanuel, to gain entry into China (probably with refugee status) Scenario 3: Born of Nigerian parents in Liberia or settled in Liberia at a young age. Scenario 4: A Liberian with name or surname Emmanuel, who decided to adopt or was given the name Uwechue. Scenario 5: who cares anyway?!!! ![]() |
Nice to see that you guys are heading in the right direction. Please, let go of the painful past and look unto a sweet future. Do not dwell on the things that differentiate your husband from you. Concentrate on the things you have in common (the things that brought you together in the first place) and build on from there. Do not hold court for your husband in your mind (where you are judge and jury, but all in your mind), talk about things as soon as it's possible and at the right time (find your path of least resistance). As an old Irish saying goes - "You'll never plow a field by turning it over in your mind". Stay blessed. |
@AbyDee I've taken my time to read the previous posts as much as I can. I know a couple that are almost in a similar situation to you. They didn’t do much dating (I’m not sure if u did), then she fell pregnant. He didn’t want her to keep the baby b/c they hardly knew each other (wanted to have fun with her, travel etc) but she wanted to keep it b/c she felt she had a medical condition. He called her bluff and left her alone for a few months He relented after she went past the legal limit for an abortion and realized she was actually gonna keep the child. He asked her to move in with him b/c the child and also to see if they could learn to get close to & love each other. She being pregnant & vulnerable agreed and they gave it a go. However, she had experienced a lot of deep hurt when he abandoned her for a few months (she never realized how deep then) and the guy never really got over the fact that refused to abort the baby so that they could have the chance of properly dating and knowing themselves. Personally, I believe that she felt that he was trying to trick her into aborting. Anyway, she was somehow grateful for them being together (avoiding the disgrace of single mum), so she suppressed her feelings and tried to play the perfect partner, giving him sex whenever he wanted (the initial attraction for both of them was deeply sexual), cooking, cleaning etc., while he was the sole bread winner. He, on the other hand, probably felt he was making a great sacrifice. He cleared out all his girlfriends (breaking hearts in the process), and took care of the practical aspects of the relationship. Her emotional needs weren't properly met and as time went on it emerged that she had never really gotten over the hurt she experienced when she was abandoned. However, unlike your own case AbyDee , their relationship remained highly sexual. He can never get enough of her in bed and according to her, when he made love to her for the first time, she swore that was gonna be her last bus stop. She ditched the guy she was dating; who was lavishing money on her; who went down on bended knees to propose to her; she got rid of him as soon as she had one taste of this guy. They have since formalized their relationship (went to Nigeria for traditional etc), and he stood by her (child care etc) while she went on to get a degree and is now earning more than him. She is much more self assured, older and confident and has since had another child. However, she keeps wondering if she made a mistake by marrying him. Wishes she wasn't pregnant when they decided to move in together so that she would have been able to make a better decision. She complains that he doesn't take care of her emotional needs. He doesn’t know her bra size, shoe size etc. She complains that he is stagnant (has the same job when they met). Wishes she didn't have to work. They have blazing arguments where he reminds about how he begged her to abort but she refused etc. This brings her to tears and she regrets everything. However, after all these years, their sex life is still great. That's what makes everything make sense to them. That's what resets the relationship. That's their thing. It's actually got better with time. My question to you know is, what is your thing? What is that thing that you guys have that hasn't changed all these years? Also, more importantly, are both of you harbouring some deep hurt or resentment from the past? Probably relating to the early part of your relationship? Here's wishing you the best. |
This goes for both sexes. You are ready to get married when you've "been there, done that" and have had enough of all that. |
Uju, dating allows couples to test the waters extensively before taking the definitive plunge. Where red flags are raised or warning signs pop up, they have to be looked into EXTENSIVELY because it's very difficult to do these things in a sensible manner once married. To a large extent, it's mostly pointless tackling these issues in marriage (especially if kids are in the picture), because if the result is not to your liking the options available are grim. Like someone pointed out earlier on, it's very unlikely that a grown man would change his habits during marriage. If anything, he actually gets worse as he gets older and conservative. If he is "annoyingly inflexible and unreceptive to (your ) new ideas", then this may lead to arguments (which are worse in marriage) and misery which may lead you to (rightly) crave for and seek succour from a like minded person outside who'll be likely be male, , I think you get the picture. |
strangerf:Here we go again That just came outta the blue!! You must have a massive hard-on for Ibo's to just lapse into that rant like that (must be seeing them in your dream and all). If the hard-on in that serious, there's a lot you can do to relieve it with a tub of vaseline and your trusty right hand (or is it your left??) ![]() |
Just for the record though, Lagos is doing fine as it is. |
strangerf:Abeg, go sleep!! If wishes were horses then Lagos would be an oil producing state. http://www.economicconfidential.com/x/index.php/facts-a-figures/529-rich-and-poor-states-how-states-shared-n1-trillion-between-january-to-june-2010 |
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but =N= 4.5 Trillion is about £18.6 billion. That is surely peanuts for a country of 150 million people. That figure should be just for education and healthcare!! It beggars belief that a country with a budget of £18.6 billion can have billionaires whose incomes come solely from Nigeria; bleeding the country dry eh?! Foolish gullible Nigerians. Becomrich?:Ridiculous statement!!! Oil revenues from Imo and Abia state contribute to this money. If you take your head outta ur arse, you'll find out that the oil producing states in Nigeria are: Delta, Beyelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Abia, Cross Rivers, Imo, Edo and Ondo. |
dayokanu:You answer that question, because in the eyes of some people he has already been tried and sentenced. They don't want to know at all, at all. For them, the allegation (irrespective of the source) is good enough for them. |
@violent If these allegations were to have been made in some respectable media like the uk mirror, then that would have been a different issue cause we know that they probably would have done thier home work properly. But common, Sahara Reporters?? 234Next?? Is is not the same SR that said Obasajo was an Igbo man cause he bore a slight resemblance to some policeman?? |
reindeer:How disgustingly patronizing You post would have made more sense if you had included people like Ben Okri and Wole Soyinka in the list of people we celebrate. By limiting that list to people of Igbo extraction, you are concluding that anybody who questions the validity or the motive behind these allegations is Igbo. What does this then make you?? More dangerously, you have concluded that these allegations are true. On the contrary, it is people like you blinded by (ethnicity) that jump to biased conclusions that are the problem with Nigeria. You try to come across as unbiased but failed woefully. |
Mr~Cork:I guess you've probablyt had loads of "experiences" with guys to know which one is sexy or not. As for me, I leave it for the ladies to judge. Ask me about a sexy WOMAN and I'll give u my opinion. |
oyb:I've read the first post AGAIN. Followed the link back to an even more obscure website to an article written by one "Musikilu Mojeed" with a reference to one "Prof Adesuyi Ajayi". Hmmm?? Now we are really getting somewhere. |
oyb:My hero?!! Hang on a minute here. I thought he was a supposed to be a "Nigerian" who has disgraced us abroad. Hmmmm?? We seem to be getting somewhere here. Publishing a write up in his site does not equate to a direct reply. |
It's quite tempting to come to the conclusion that he doesn't take these allegations seriously enough to warrant a direct reply. That must really hurt (ie being ignored). |
I'm not in any form trying to compare the two individuals, but if Obama went around replying to every allegation written about him by any obscure site (like Sahara Reporters), would that make sense?? jason12345:What media are we talking about here? Can u pls be specific. |
jason12345:And tell me who is making these allegations?? |
violent:Like you said "alleged". Omo, let's face it this whole thing is tribal. Haba!! Anyone who cannot see that has his head stuck far up his arse. |
alj harem:I can bet my last dollar he aint gonna make any direct comment to SR, NR etc. Why should he? There are enuff blogs/forums out there talking crap about celebrities and personalities; how many times do you see them reply?? What makes this different. Please lets not get carried away here; we talking about Sahara Reporters!! |
Princek12:You've obviously learnt the hard way! |
alj harem:In making this statement, you are assuming that we have to beleive anything SR publishes. This is where the problem is. I will never condone such actions "if they are true". |
Hmmmm?? It would have been a different issue if CNN, BBC or some other reputable international media organization or Journalist were making these allegations. But Sahara Reporters??!! Why will anybody lose sleep over them?! Sahara who Abeg talk another thing!!! Knowing how horrible and nasty (enuff evidence on dis site) we Nigerians are to one another, I don't think any rational unbiased Nigerian can take these allegations seriously until some credible international media organisation comes up with something or backs the allegation up. If this is the work of haters, and I sincerely hope it isn't; is this the best they can come up with?? |
Confraternities where "okay" in Nigeria in the 70's & 80's. However, with the introduction of increased violence in the late 80's things changed. This was made worse when the "quality" of people gaining admission into Nigerian universities dropped dramatically! People who had bought their o'levels/sssc etc certificates (or got people to sit it for them or bribed principal of remote secondary school), then went ahead to pay their way into Universities & Poly's. This meant that any armed robber or street boy (with the right cash) had a very high chance of gaining admission. Add to the above the fact that campus heads of these confraternities started seeing it as money making ventures. This then made them to start initiating people indiscriminately just for the purpose of getting "Form money" from these guys and also to increase numbers. You can imagine, in the mid 90's, a campus head collecting form money from 100's of people and collecting semester dues from (in some cases) thousands of people. Most of these people were not even students, but just fools who wanted to belong. In some case, some confra members would even collect form money plus other monetary taxes from these fools and take them to the bush for a quickie initiation. Also add to this that some confraternities became very tribal (yes the big T) in their recruitment, appointment of officers and operation. Don't wanna name names, but there are some confras where you wouldn't feel comfortable if you didn't belong to a certain tribe or grow up in certain towns. At the end of the day, most of the decent people on campus from decent backgrounds didn't want anything to do with these groups. Words like "razz" etc were bandied about. They did put pressure on a lot of these people to join with the result that most of them left those campuses. This is one of the reasons why a lot of parents borrowed heaven & earth to send their kids abroad (and other parts of Africa) to study, leaving the remaining to kill and maim themselves like animals. There are hardly any decent "Materials" in Nigerian universities again, hence some confras decided to pull out. Good call. The violence will only continue so long as undergrads in confras continue to believe that to be "rugged" is to be able to fight, shoot, maim and kill the opposition like a person possessed. Also, so long as the politicians (I don't wanna even talk about that angle) continue to use these guys as thugs. These same politicians whose kids are safely studying abroad for so called "superior" degrees? |
otumfour:@otumfour stop chatting crap! Nigerians are not docile. Everyone (including your mama) knows that. Nigerian are tough and it is these same tough people that make it to the top and run things; they take no prisoners! You think say this na case of one half caste johnny-just-join-military wey go come wipe people off?? In Nigeria they mark you closely and get rid of you even b4 u start thinking of making your move. You think say na shoot bird?!! |
honeric01:Nigeria can only be fixed if we can find a way to tame Tribalism. Tame tribalism and everything else will follow. Trying to fix isolated elements will fail and we'll continue to mis-fire and underperform up to the point that countries like Ghana and Chad will start fancying making a run at us. |
isale_gan2:I can see you are missing the tribal sparring eh ![]() |
jrtorrents:As rule of thumb, countries with small populations have the highest literacy rates (Oyinbo man education). For example, an insignificant country like Andorra has 100% literacy rate. Same applies to life expectancy where places like Andorra and San Marino dominate, and are miles ahead of countries like the US and Germany. So u know where u can stuff dat. I'm sure if Nigerians decided to sit back and throw big wrapper over our shoulder, while shouting 'Akwabaa' to any light skinned foreigner that crosses Kotoka airport, we'll probably have a higher quality of life. The kind I see in those Ghanaian porn movies all over the internet?!!! |
and you claim to be educated huh? amaka there are many 14 year olds who think better than you do, their minds developed better than yours, you are trying to wind up the fulani with falsehood and you think you are grown up? you must be a 12 yourself
