If everyone starts posting pictures of pretty Nigerian girls, you'll find out (as if u don't know already) that there r pretty girls from every part of Nigeria. Question is, how many of them r prepared to compete in MBGN?

Miss Delta is actually Yoruba. Her mother is Helen Prest Ajayi.

Ill rather people vent their warped & pervasive tribal frustrations here in NL than in real life. I believe its therapy for them & is directly related to other frustrations and dashed hopes they have in real life.

Both of you musto submit invoice for the tireless campaign you've been carrying out for Dbanj & Don Jazzy respectively. Of course **clears throat** I'll collect 20% for facilitation and other ancillary services.

This is really getting ridiculous. Nairaland is getting too desperate for taffic.

Why would this make the front page? Do you really want us to beleive that the OP Biafra4tharmy is a real person and not one of your "Ghost" posters? He only registered on NL on the 16th of April.

Do you guys think Nigerian's are that stupid? Is this how disgustingly you guys regards Nigerians?

dubem3: you know, a lot of the times, if the topic in question has anything to do with tribe, i can already guess the kinda thing ur sure to say and it makes me laugh.
Nevertheless, i think what you said above is in line. I had wiped outta my head the fact that u can make any straight and unbiased contribution...pardon me.

The western mode of bringing up children and of life generally is just too liberal. It intoxicates adults not to talk of kids who are not old enough to think for themselves. They spend their life pushing the limits of their rights and exploring the boundaries of what should be and what should not that at the end of the day, most of them do not even know where the comfortable balance is. So much so that even though they are considered adults earlier than we do our kids down here, ours tend to be more in comformance than they do.
You are quite right. Sadly, Western model for bringing up children is the only option available to you if you live in the UK. By law, a lot is taken out of your hands and placed in the kid's.

Furthermore, as a man, a lot is also taken out of your hands regarding your wife, and this seriously affects your ability to lay down d law in the African way. It doesn't take much for Social Services to come and remove your child.

Your best bet is to work hard and sacrifice certain things to ensure you live in a good area with good schools where the worst kids are actually above national average.

akiesony: Sadly, this is not the first or only time. Everytime I see such threads, I do not necessarily blame the posters but the moderators/nairaland owners. Someone was jailed cuz of comments about patrice muamba and comments removed. Hopefully the day of reckoning is coming for the owners of nairaland when they will be liable for their irresponsibilities.
Their bias and inconsistencies is typical of the corruption pervading Nigeria.
It actually brings tears to my eyes to see how these people blatantly promote ( & manipulate with ghost posters) tribal hate threads just for the sake of money. Do they realise the effect of their actions? What a shame!
CrimeRe: Obi Nwokeh, Christopher Omoregrie & Samson Odegbune Jailed For Murder In UK by basher(m): 10:55pm On Apr 20, 2012
Actually, that Beatrice Webb handle is suspect. Check out her previous posts. The style of writing is similar to some other posts I've seen on NairaLand. The writer is trying so hard to write bad English. I ain't convinced.
CrimeRe: Obi Nwokeh, Christopher Omoregrie & Samson Odegbune Jailed For Murder In UK by basher(m): 10:48pm On Apr 20, 2012
akiesony: Unfortunately, D average yoruba person is two faced, double standard, back stabbing, scheming and tribalistic. you must never take what they say at face value but must try to see the real motive behind their actions most times. In this case, the comments about 'igbos' is so blatant that I suspect it was posted to just instigate and generate response / comments for nairaland.
I think it is about time a parallel Nigerian forum is set up that can compete with Facebook in terms of content, decorum and proper conduct.
.
If the thread & inflammatory comments were just set up to generate responses & hence traffic, then it shows the depths that some people are willing to sink to just to make money.

Hmmm. Attack is the best form of defense.

The OP New that sooner or later the story of the Nigerian teens involved in maiming the little Asian girl in London & killing the Ghanaian may be debated here, so he fired the first salvo.

Besides, its been a slow week. Traffic.

killuminati: shut the bleep up and face reality ni88a!! Have you seen and heard Jay Z's Watch The Throne?? Illuminati is daamn real! Gedit in your dumb skull!!!!!! There was even a track titled 'no church in the wild' go hear am' wawa kawai!!!
You're barking up the wrong tree mate!
Music/RadioRe: Mercury Records In The UK Signs D’banj by basher(m): 4:47pm On Apr 20, 2012
confetti: Hum! Now am beginning to believe this Illuminati theory. This is if trully D'bang has joined the crew of J-Z and co. It might actually be true this is the reason for the split, perhaps Don J doesnt really want to sell his soul. Better a pauper than serving "Lusibaby" as JZ calls him all in the name of fame.
Stop chatting crap! Jeeeeez! I'm tired of all this illuminati rubbish! Being signed by a UK label is a natural step for any artist who raises enough dust to attract attention. It's a gamble for the record label involved and this is new territory for international labels, ie afrobeats. It could go either way. They could loose money or they could gain massively. No one knows which way it will go.
Music/RadioRe: Mercury Records In The UK Signs D’banj by basher(m): 4:38pm On Apr 20, 2012
scopusng: Former Mohits label co-owner, D’Banj has been signed on top United Kingdom record label, Mercury Records.

His name and picture has also been updated on Mercury Records’ official website to confirm the deal.

Mercury Records presently has Elton John, Gabriel Bruce MIA and others signed under it.

Mercury Records is also a subsidiary of Universal Music Group same as Island Def Jam where Kanye West, Jay Z, Mariah Carey and other top US artiste belong to.

D’Banj’s twitter profile has since been changed to reflect Mercury Records on it.

His new twitter profile now reads DB/Good Music/Mercury/IDJ. IDJ means Island Def Jam.

All we've been hearing for about a year now is sign this, sign that yakity yak. Meanwhile, dbanj j & don jazzy are still living off the mo hits era. So far na only Oliver Twist we dey hear for Choice Fm & BBC 1xtra (both niche market stations) over here. We like, yes odi don don etc etc; so what next?

Don't hold ur breath o! I've already seen some posts with ridiculously large pictures & fonts. If it doesn't go tribal, the thread won't have staying power.

maclatunji: You don't know girls sorry women. She could be on contraceptives so all that firing could be 'missing the target' if that is what she intends.
Heh heh heh. If she's on contraceptives without her husband knowing, then she has nothing to complain about if he suddenly changes his mind about children without her knowing.

fellis: Her husband did not enter the marriage with an honest mind yet dimwit morons are coming to support him and fault the woman.
And who is marriage not easy for? Men who society gives license to do basically anything or women who are told to get pregnant while in school (if her husband demands it) regardless of how stressful it will be for her?
Marriage is complex. It's her husband playing up now, she has to deal with it. Next time it'll probably be her playing up and her husband will have to deal with it.

That's marriage for you!

rokiatu: Please how can I make my new husband understand that I am not yet ready to have kids? I have said everything under the sun, but he don't seem to understand. I luv him very much but I want to complete my study before I start having my kids. I told him that, but he insist I have atleast one, and then complete my study. And before marriage, I told him my plan i mean this has never been a secret to him. Now suddenly he have changed his mind and seem to be sticking to it. I don't want to disrespect my husband, but then again, I am not at all ready for motherhood. Please how do I make him come to term with this decision of mine?

Or if you have any other suggestion please do say.
There are 3 options open to you:

1) Honestly, do everything within your power to get him see reason with you;
2) Do everything within your power to have a child without interrupting your studies (I know several women below 30yrs who did that);
3) Damn the consequences and stick to your guns. Deal with any resulting crisis on a one-by-one basis.

Be sure t use those exact words when talking to him about it. grin
How does having a baby wreck a woman's body? I used to know this single mum that had 7 kids, she was still good to go!

CelebritiesRe: New Facts Emerge On Dbanj And Don Jazzy Split by basher(m): 5:34pm On Apr 13, 2012
brinell: I do respect both DBang and Don Jazzy, but I think that its below par for DBang to talk about what he bought (personal) for a friend. Its like me demanding a return of gifts I gave to a girlfriend after we quit! Too low abeg! It was all good, and no one can say the other star became on its own. They all assisted each other to get to the height they are now. No logical argument will give all credit to one of them only.

In my opinion, Don Jazzy prepared the base that harnessed DBanj's talent and he in turn brought the needed funds and shot the MO'HIT label higher. This is mutual benefit, so it would be childish to waste time here arguing who is better or who did more. To me, this is bound to happen sometime, but then again, there is a contract with Kanye. So how do they work together. Dem no go see each other?
That contract with kanye is pointless. The only person who will gain from it is kanye himself, as per the money they paid him. How u wan market dbanj for Yankee? He ain't no singer, he ain't got no great voice, and he ain't no Fela?! The guy na performer; novelty.
CelebritiesRe: New Facts Emerge On Dbanj And Don Jazzy Split by basher(m): 4:57pm On Apr 13, 2012
~Bluetooth:
did don jazzy contribute to the oliver twist video ? huh D'banj sabi o,he no sabi o,he has freed himself from the bondage of an exploitative manager and if you know how to sing, apply to don jazzy to manage and label you. grin
.....and how many hits has the video had in three weeks on Youtube? These guys were making money from endorsements and sponsorship deals in Nigeria & Africa, therefore they should have concentrated their efforts in Nigeria & Africa. I'm sorry, but they would never make that type of money in the Uk or USA.

It's extremely foolhardy to up sticks and relocate just because one of your songs is crossing over in a 'niche' club scene in the UK or USA. Oliver twist is the song that is crossing over and I can confidently tell you that it is the beat and the hook that is proving catchy. All that DBanj yarn about "Omotala" & "Genivieve", na dust. Nobody cares about that or knows what he is saying; its the beat and the hook that does it. You cannot change the direction of your career based on a fluke song. You have to do it over and over again.

..least you've forgotten
- Mohits paid Good music to sign them for a deal! Let me put it plainly; Good music was incentified (egunjed) to sign dbanj and don j. A down payment was made, contract signed, now mohits owes good music. Who go pay
