snakova: we keep on complaining abt marriageable ages but r nt concerned dat teenagers r losing their virginity all over the place. if ur culture supports fornication, mine doesnt hence the need to marry off any girl dat reaches puberty. we dont want our society to become as corrupt n immoral as urs where school girls r viewed as fresh meat.
Yerima is that you?

Quit recycling this lame excuse, it was stale on arrival.

Reasonable people would have since realised that some people are really beyond help. Whatever it is that eats the brain of some men has so advanced that any hope of a remedy is out of the question. The only recourse is time. Time will deal the ultimate blow to this depravity. What can only be done now is give the diseased a wide berth so that they continue in their depravity without spreading.

Yerima and men of his ilk should be left to practice their vice till it consumes them. Eventually their time will come and they will be obliterated.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Nairalanders E-protest Against Child Marriage: Sign your Petition Here Guys! by Bawss1(m): 5:54pm On Jul 20, 2013
I endorse this movement.

Nobody has the right to use their religion as an excuse for disgusting inhumane practises.

cycline404: Jungle justice is what we need In this type of matter...
Speak for yourself.

Many sane people will content themselves with the treatment that perv will receive from a civilised judicial system. His punishment will not be any lesser as a result.

No jungle justice

LOL

The rain fell today. Since it happened under GEJ's tenure then GEJ must be commended for rainfall.

After a while this spin and spell strategy assumes ludicrous dimensions.

Is team GEJ this desperate to score points?

You guys should relax, let GEJ do with the commendation he has received from his direct effort. If he applies some focus there will be many projects that will testify positively about his leadership.

This petty point grabbing is shameful.

Certified ped.ophile...

Authorities will do well to let parents know when this dude moves into a new neighbourhood so folks are on the alert. Of course they should do this after he has been released from a very long spell in jail.

feranchek78: wow! very enlightening. neva knew dis b4. if all wahy u just said is true, den I think iOS and AOS shld creat a new os daht compresses data just like blackberry does.
Facepalm.

And some people get mad when I say folks should understand the technology so they can come up with informed expectations.

kiddie: so what u feeling like we r dullard or we dont have compatible hacker where dem legitz dey oooo
First of all young people should step their game up. Learn to express themselves intelligently. Who will take any of this seriously when many of the people protesting can't spell words properly?

For now protesting looks like a fun thing to do, a recent fad just like skinny jeans.

Sure there are brilliant guys out there but they number in the minority.

Some dunderheads here in the frenzy of the excitement think that I'm telling them to not protest - they fail to realize that the call I'm making is for people to go about this intelligently, to make this count.

destino24: where are the hackers when u need themhuh protest continues....
Hackers? LOL

The computing prowess of the Nigerian youth has always been romanticised to amazing proportions. Just go and take a look at some of the questions raised on the Android thread or some other threads. The bulk of these guys know little. Don't get your hopes too high.

Half of the people "protesting" don't understand the technology or the principles behind it. All that suffices for them is that a so called protest is taking place and they want something for free.

Sensible people will, amist all the excitement, try to understand a thing or two about the tech so that they can state their demands or expectations properly.
PhonesRe: All DATA USERS, WAKE UP (CAMPAIGN FOR FAIRNESS) by Bawss1(m): 10:30pm On Jul 19, 2013
Why are Nigerian youths not demanding that underage marriages should remain outlawed.

Universities are currently on strike but Nigerian youths are fighting for cheap data bundles instead.

While the youths demand lower data bundles they should also channel some of their energy into matters that make life better for all.

Well, it all started in Egypt wen a young man burnt himself in protest............... Get the rest of the story urself.
It begins with u and u and u..... Day and nite until the heavens hear our voices and pour out the rain we demand of, its a neva say die protest.
Forward eva, we are not giving up!!!
Prophecy: u shall see it cum to pass but i pray u receive the grace to enjoy it...........
Have you thought about how laughable this "fight" for cheaper data bundle is compared to other fights against oppressive governments and freedom struggles.

Well at least the Nigerian youth can say he fought for something eh.

PhonesRe: All DATA USERS, WAKE UP (CAMPAIGN FOR FAIRNESS) by Bawss1(m): 10:43am On Jul 19, 2013
Will you e-warriors take some time to understand the technology?

I reiterate, keep your aims realistic.

Those who are calling for unlimited mobile data access misunderstand how things really work. Do you imagine that with a token amount, say N1000, you will be able to download 1Tb of data? What happens when 1000 people are able to do so - the network will be crippled! It is to curb that effect that data caps and throttling are introduced.

Instead of that pipe dream agree on a specific and reasonable cost for data bundles. Demand improved quality of service.
PhonesRe: All DATA USERS, WAKE UP (CAMPAIGN FOR FAIRNESS) by Bawss1(m): 9:13am On Jul 19, 2013
yehmy: we knw all dt so dts not d reason for our protest all we need is unlimited Data plan for all phones from all network
Unlimited data is absolute fantasy. At least at this point.

There is nowhere in the world where you will get unlimited data. The technology doesn't exist for that yet.

It is part of the poor understanding of how broadband technology works that fueled the Net Neutrality debate in the US.

Keep your goals realistic; push for improved and affordable data services not unlimited access. The later is tantamount to chasing the wind.

Why do I have the feeling that users of a certain Chinese phone make up the bulk of this ruckus. cheesy cheesy

Anyways

Cheaper data plans will come about with improved fiber optic infrastructure. Telcos have to step their game up in this area

obuji: and the question I always ask men like you is, what will you do with the rest of the money you are hidding away from her?? Build house without her knowledge?
Buy land? Solve big problem?? Okay, where will you tell her the money came from??
That' you borrowed it?? So how long are going to keep lying to her through out the entire life of your marriage ??

Or will just be a man and tell her, oh honey , this is the money I have been hidding from you!!
How do you want her to feel and reacthuh
Or you don't care??
Consider it as insurance. cool

If she loves you she shouldn't care how much money you have anyways right?

black_beau: Should wives hide money from their husbands?
Yes. No real husband should depend on his wife's money anyways so let her keep her money.

TV/MoviesRe: PACIFIC RIM: The Surprise Hit Of The Summer?? by Bawss1(m): 7:56pm On Jul 16, 2013
There has to be something missing in Hollywood, how can an industry that is able to dole out mega bucks just to get the looks of a movie right still fail repeatedly in coming up with the basic requirement for a good movie - a decent storyline.

This problem seems to be at its height this summer. Kai!

The number of dunderheads is increasing on NL. Apparently many commenters here fail to realise that the price drop in question here is tied to a 2 year contract.
