cecegorz: You mean US price?
There is no way this device can retail below 200k here in naija. That's roughly $1,200.
Ordinary BB Q10 is around $750 here.
@Lord_Reed, the issue with HDMI is that it's not yet a standard feature on most projectors.
I guess Toshiba and co should look into that ASAP.
HD projectors abound kind sir.

cecegorz: Hahahaha. What do you wanna do with a SIM on a 13'' device. Unless it's for data only. Won't be cool making calls on that.
But can you imagine? USB and RJ45 ports? Mobile office don complete be that.
Now why can't they just slap in a VGA converter Port so that I can plug in my projector and wow my audience with my power point presentations.
Men. Samsung just aced it!
Off course a sim card slot would be for mobile data access. It's funny that someone mentions a sim card slot and many people immediately imagine its for making phone calls.
And yes the Ativ Q does have provision for USB.

Anyways I'm willing to bet that this tablet will cost over $800.

ewizard1: FYI. Nokia has a tab running W8.
ewizard1: Oga shut up and make research first. @least. Google dey therer now.
You should be the one to do research next time. Nokia has not launched any tablet in any market. Informed sources in the industry SPECULATE about the possibility of such a device from Nokia but you with your research announce with confidence that the Finish OEM already has W8 tablets. So we want to know, when was it launched, was it in lululand?

Rushing to copy the first rendition images off google does not validate your untrue assertion.

Half of the people who rush to comment in this section are completely ignorant of the mobile phone industry.

Shinatu: I do not know how super rich people run their homes, but at my level, it would be unfair for my male colleagues to think that thier wives do not contribute to whatever wealth they have.
They pick up thier bags to go anywhere in the world at any notice, short or long without thinking of the homefront, some cant even pack thier bags without forgeting tooth paste/brush, soap or underwears. The wife does all that.
Some even have equally qualified wives who they have told before marriage that they will not allow to do some demanding jobs becaue of the homefront.

Not to talk of the endless social demands of the inlaws.
A wife's contribution to family wealth in instances where she did not directly participate in the family business is on the same level with that of a teacher who contributes to his student that runs a successful business.
The hornet's nest is stirred when one attempts to monetize that contribution and I feel that is fundamentally wrong.

chaircover: yes!! certainly the naija millionaire will prefer his wife to cook for him and certainly breasst feed their babies tongue

the cleaning; yes I concede that a cleaner would have done that, but she would have still supervised.
The picture would have us believe that the wife is the long suffering labour-laden home keeper, whereas in reality she is more or less like the typical modern wife with the key difference being her ability to hire more than enough help to do the chores. The image is just a comical over stretch of the stereotype.
FamilyRe: Nigerian Oil Tycoon Loses £17.5m Divorce Battle by Bawss1(m): 2:46pm On Jun 19, 2013
@ MBJ

A question albeit tangential

In the picture you put up, do you really believe that a millionaire's wife cooked, cleaned, breastfed or maybe fed the kids everyday for the period of their marriage without any hired help? Like seriously?

MRbrownJAY: Murray did a criminal act that has nothing to do with his duties as a husband nor as a doctor, so wifey cannot be held responsible for that...... just like if a man works at the bank and decides to steal the money there, his wife would not be responsible for his criminal act (as this is not part of what his job description is all about) but she certainly should stand by him, and bring him oranges, if/when he ends up in jail (aka emotional support)!

but if the wife knows that her husband is a thief and help him in his criminal enterprise then she should be held responsible too.
Apples and oranges now.

You now agree that the actions of the man in his business are unrelated to his responsibilies as a husband because here a crime has been committed and it comes with punitive consequencies?

This whole settlement thing is one of the issues we have to live with unless something is done about it. It's just like gay marriage, that the law endorses it doesn't stop it from being an aberration.
FamilyRe: Nigerian Oil Tycoon Loses £17.5m Divorce Battle by Bawss1(m): 7:07pm On Jun 18, 2013
MRbrownJAY: FAIL #3
how dare you want to compare the r/ship between a couple that "chose" to get married in holy matrimony, AND the r/ship between parents and their children?!?! a couple are building a family, and they are BOTH responsible for whatever happens in this family. a child is not responsible for anything with their parents (other than being respectful and kind towards them.)can children choose their parents before going into such parent/child relationship? can children "divorce" their parents if they decide to do so? parents only duty is to provide everything for their children until they are able to fly out the nest (or at least when they get to adulthood). parents can demand whatever they want from their children but, the only thing a child owe its parents is GRATITUDE, nada mas!
Funny. Here you are maintaining child owes its father nothing but gratitude. . . I asked earlier that can a father demand to be entitled to his wealthy son's fortune? After all the father or parents chose to have the son, they fulfilled their obligations as dutiful parents and raised him the best they could.

I wish I could quote you some more alas I am using a mobile and doing so is too much of a hassle.

Anyways

You are yet to show what part of the ex wife's contribution in marriage led to the wealth of the man. Unless there was some specific or direct input she had in growing the business then this is a case of reaping where one did not sow.

Flip the coin in a macabre way and tell me how the "she is entitled to whatever the union produced" still holds: imagine this scenario; a married man goes out and commits a crime , the wife should be held partly responsible for the man's offence after all she is signed to a life union with the man. They are ONE, not so? She should do jail time too right? But we all know that is absurd and the law will never come after the wife unless she was in some way involved.

In this instance where instead of a crime being committed the man generates wealth then she is now entitled to part of the wealth?

These laws are flawed and will continue to be exploited by people who can benefit from them. Untill this realisation has taken root we will continue to see similar judgements like this.
FamilyRe: Nigerian Oil Tycoon Loses £17.5m Divorce Battle by Bawss1(m): 2:09pm On Jun 18, 2013
MRbrownJAY: @Bawss1
you must have misunderstood my post, the contribution of a woman CANNOT be quantified, unless both partner bring exactly the same thing to the union......sadly because most dont, we must take everything that the union generated during marriage, and split it evenly and fairly. yes, some people will be quick to say that a woman's contribution is less than a man's (to each their own), but THE LAW says otherwise. so again, anyone who has a problem with this issue should either NEVER get married OR have a tight prenup, EOD!
You believe that a wife's contribution in a marriage cannot be financially quantified but you agree that she is entitled to half of the man's wealth(which is a specific sum)? How does that work?

Here's my position: attempting to monetize a partner's effort in a marriage is futile and goes against logic and fundamental justice. The marriage per se was not a business endeavor unless that was otherwise stated. The ex wife, will fail to show how her being in the union lead to the man's financial profit and increased wealth because these are two unrelated areas. Imagine a parent who demands that he is entitled to half of his billionaire son's wealth just because he raised him. That same awkwardness is what is playing out here.

This judgement remains an exploitation of civil law. The woman's lawyers were smart enough to argue out their aim successfully and so it stands. Because much of the law in these matters are skewed towards the woman, any man who is worried about this should hire very smart lawyers who can outwit the system, this unfortunately is what it boils down to.

It will be very easy for one to think that the lesson here is that one can get away with anything just as long as one is smart but a deeper sense of morals tells otherwise. . .

3ace: I'm not sure if it's cost-effective but can't they run both OS at the same time so that those people can choose either Android or Windows on a Nokia phone.
You mean like the way Samsung runs both Android and WP8 (halfheartedly)? In Samsung's case they have established themselves solidly with Android and promote it everywhere, meanwhile the WP8 models in their line up barely get a mention. It won't make any sense for Nokia to go down that route, there is more potential for them with WP8 than any other platform ATM. They are indeed witnessing increasing growth and profit with WP8, why should they risk that by going with a platform where their chances of success are uncertain?
PhonesRe: If Nokia Goes With Android, They'd Be 'dangerous' - Acer Executive by Bawss1(m): 8:58am On Jun 15, 2013
What pride? Have you stopped to think about the number of OEMs out there on the android platform? How many of them report significant profit? How would Nokia survive in an already over crowded space where the likes of Sony, LG and HTC, all behemoths in the industry, are not finding it easy?

Windows Phone 8 was a good choice for Nokia and consumers; something different from the pack and so far profitable too. Compared to other platforms it is seeing good adoption rates even though it currently has a lower market share now.
