justwise: You did not miss any rule but you missed to read his experience above I got the experience. I'm just wondering why he doesn't want to post the name of the hospital. People have posted the name of the hospitals and break down in the past no biggie. Just don't understand why he needs approval to do that. Just a few pages back I read someone's experience in Mercy medical NY. I'm genuinely confused as to why he can't post the Chicago one. |

allen0000: Sorry to say the Hospital don't give out email correspondence or phone correspondence but once you get there you will be given a contract to sign , which states the amount for VD and CS, the contract is only for self pay patients. @justwise please why can't oga @allen0000 post his DW's experience again? I may have missed that rule. |

Nita2013: My dear sorry for d long silence and sorry to others (Phema & co.) that asked also. We decided to still go d US route for 2nd missionary journey after a cousin of mine that gave birth in Canada december 2015 gave us d break down of cost and her experience in Canada.
I av told her to pls come and share everything here so pple can learn. But in summary her advice to me was "except I want something different in terms of pp for my child, otherwise I should face US jejely " especially if I get something very affordable in d US.
Btw she had her 2nd baby in d US thus has experienced both. But because she felt Canada would be cheaper after d MIHS phoenix saga in d US and since she had d. Visa she decided to go d route. Did you withdraw your application? Kindly share on her behalf let's learn a thing or two. If I had gotten my visa before I had my Lil Madam I would have gone the Canadian route rather than the American route. |

@The mama that is on a tight budget. Do you have any family or friends in the US. I'm one of those mothers who can't leave her baby(any child less than 5 years old) when off to deliver (my mind cannot take it).
If you have any friends/ family, start by asking them if they'll be willing to take 3 days off work to help babysit when you go to the hospital? (I had lots of family and friends who point blank told me not to come with my son) I thanked them for being truthful with me as I heard many horror stories of babies being locked in the room, toilet, basement (being maltreated) when mom was in the hospital. Going to have a baby in the US takes it's toll too emotionally so not everything is money. I wish you the best. |

anonymousmum: Let's get the context right.
The fee issue came up as a random "possibility", suggested by emeldamicheals (please see her post) in order to ease mothers' stress.
From the tone of her post, it was said with good intentions.
Even TheLeakyTribe said that the reference to fee, was suggested as a trade by barter structure: babysit for me, I babysit for you type arrangement.
I don't believe that anyone has / or intends to do that.
before we turn a non existent issuey into a big one...let's just take a step back. Thought it was being blown out of proportion too. I had to go and read again. It was a suggestion, if it's not favourable find an alternative. |

LadyGuinivere: Yup. Thats why I put the quote mark for dependant. In as much as one fills that form, every adult is accountable for himself. Abi after filling that form em wife no go fill ds160 last last? Yes you were right especially with the payment question too. Everyone pays and everyone fills a form regardless. xoxo |
Travel › Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by bbaby84(f): 2:09pm On Feb 07, 2016 |
LadyGuinivere: There is no 'dependent' in the US visa aplication. Each person fills his own form and pays his own visa fees. But because u are a family u guys will be interviewed together. I suggest u invest some time in the usa visit visa thread as well so u don't goof in form filling et al Lady G there is a family application portal. The main applicant then dependant (s). It's just that most of us do what you said ( fill different application forms). |

damidamsel: Hi...pls is there anyone who has recently used or planning to use Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey....i have most of all d info i need as i visited the hospital and met with the doctor too. I however just got thrown back a bit by the enormous estimate i got for anesthetics when i called few mins ago. Was told actual bill comes after delivery but could end up at about $2500-$2800 after self pay discount. I'm like what!!! Even d doc's fee aint up to twenty eight hundred!!! Pls anyone wt info on them kindly reach out. Madam stay away from St Barnabas NJ. You'll end up paying 20k or so. They have even increased their hospital bill sef. I had my first at Newark beth isreal (part of the St Barnabas group). Why not try Overlook or the one Dr Fares is affiliated with ( can't remember the name now) |

Confirmeroptima: I have paid the hospital bill already and the doctor bill already.
I didnt know of this trend until I was introduced to a Nigerian taxi cab man-Chris-by a friend's sister who also told me about nairaland paltform's on delivery in the US. I must say that the driver has been good, affordable and very warm.
Is it a fraudulent thing to come in wthout declaring. Am getting scared with different comments. Am not fraudulent and am not going to run away, I just want a good medical attention and other associated other benefits. Am prepared to pay my bills. I only need clarifications and possible intervention after reading loads of messages on this platform I became concerned and worried about many people travelling with declaration at the point of entry.
Pls what should i do exactly. First of all, there's absolutely no reason to panic. Were you pregnant when you got the visa? If not Lady G has told you what to do. However, the most important thing I would advise is to pay all bills and have your receipt handy at all times even when leaving. All the best. |

worry359: How will you explain your baby when you leave? Do you intend to pay for your medical care or are you going to ignore the bill?
Best case, you will be banned for fraudulent declaration, never get USA visa again. Worst case you will be banned with a criminal case waiting for you for not paying. Your child will never get green card. She never said she killed someone o. Maybe I should go back and read the post again. This your reply is scary o |

danowena: I think the cheapest option for u is to pay the $305.60 . Finding someone that will accept for you to attach a ticket to theirs could be an uphill task considering that people will not agree to help you with a bag needless say a human being. You may get stressed trying to find someone that will help out. Travelling with infants is stressful already then u want to add hunting for a good samaritan? Pay what that lady told u. If there is any challenge, the airline will bear it. Just request for their supervisor and do not pay a dime extra. Or better still explain to the lady that u already have an infant attached and ask if this will be a problem. Sometimes cutting corners and trying to get something cheaper may end up actually costing more in terms of real cost. My own stand on the issue. Don't suffer ursef at the airport o o. Do u understand the pressure you will find ursef if you are yet to get someone that will agree and the ur flight is boarding in less than 2 hrs? Well, with God all things are possible but he gave us a brain for a reason. I'm not sure you can travel with 2 children under the age of 6. You need to attach one of your babies to another adult or pay for one unaccompanied. You may have problems when checking in as the system will keep rejecting one of the babies(from experience ) Can Hubby come and get you guys? Trust me you'll need the extra hand. |

LadyGuinivere: Shay u realise that the pattern is usually 1.Ignore question 2. Poster spams thread. 3. Suggestion to read 4. Poster gives flimsy annoying reason why she can't search. 5. People vex and give ascerbic comments to push the poster to read. So we should ignore the spamming? Ok.how will that finally assist the poster? #justsaying Sis I agree with the pattern however someone usually comes along and helps. Can I ask how being sarcastic or rude helps or assists the poster? What usually happens is they just come back and attack the people who were rude thereby making the pages longer and derailing the thread. |

LadyGuinivere: I have a suggestion. Let justwise edit the ist page of this thread and post this link. U posted. Then all of us can Come up with some FAQs. He'll also post it there. So we can refer these frequent questions to page1 of the thread and stop all these recurrent arguments. If the person now refuses to read page 1, we can just ignore him/her. #justmysuggestion Fantastic suggestion. I also suggest that people should ignore instead of being rude or taking the Mick at someone else's expense. I have to agree that the questions come a tad annoying especially when theystart off by saying they've read the whole thread from part 1-3 and didn't find an info that has been flogged over and over again. @neks31 you make sense. Let's be a little kinder (ignoring an annoying post is kindness in my book as opposed to being sarcastic) New members please try and make use of the search button and try and read up as much as possible it's worth it. |

No maintenance fee if you open and make a one deposit above 250$, It takes 10 mins or less to open one. I think that's what I have o. The $250 only holds water if it's a direct credit (like salary from a company).I was getting charged the $12 maintenance fee until I put the $1500 minimum balance. How is windy city? |
