I had a still birth on 7th Jan. Its such a very sad experiece.
I used Dr Amanjoh of Methodist sugarland, I have no regret whatsoever! The baby has already passed by the time I got to the hospital for delivery. She stopped being just my doctor and is now my sister. D staff of methodist sugarland and dr Amanjoh are smply great, even as I grief for my baby, I reckon with them, I will simply choose dem again.

And Soulcare woman? God bless her for me, even thogh I'm alone in America with no friend and family, they filled d vacum well. She stayed with me all tru my CS, my 1st thought was to run out of the hospital and board d next plane back to Nigeria wt my pregnancy, but she stayed and held my hand tru the c section, her whole family stayed truout d day helping wt my grief, hers is more than a concierge, it's a calling.

To my roommate, you know yourself, I say Thank you.

To God, I bless ur name, cos you have already given me the fortitude to bear the loss, even though I waited 3 years for this journey. I thank you for defending my own life, and for all.

To my husband, God be praised, I appreciate you more.
Oh my God....
You made me cry....
So sorry about your loss. You're a very strong woman!
May He cause you to smile and may He give you double for your loss.
xoxo

kkbabygirl:

I entered the US legally to deliver my baby. The baby was born in Dec 15.

Regrettably the baby was born with a congenital heart disease called trunsuc artheriosis. She has had two heart surgeries and is currently in the hospital. She has lived all her life in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.

At the moment, the doctors are uncertain of her discharge date. Additionally the baby is billed for more hospital visits and surgeries in the future.

Unfortunately, the health care delivery in Nigeria cannot guarantee my baby a better care. I have confirmed that our hospitals are ill equipped and have poor manpower and skill to manage the baby health. The baby's condition is such that she will require a periodic hospital visit and future replacement of some valve in the heart.

I am skeptical of taking my baby back home. While I am praying for her complete recovery, it is my desire to remain in the US and watch my baby have the best health care in the world.

Please I need advise on how to achieve this.

Thank you.
Waow! So sorry you have to go through this. No one should have to watch their baby so sick. You might need to get a lawyer(you also need to make sure it's a trusted and tested one).
I'll keep you and your little one in my prayers.
Another advice I may have is don't overstay your visa. I hope you're with Family, so that you can go to Nigeria for a week before your 6 months expires and then go back be with your baby while your family member checks up on the baby for you.
Also, you can keep pumping and freeze so you don't lose your milk supply.
I pray for strength, courage, favour, grace, mercy and above all wisdom for you.
All the best !

@Hotstepper

I want to apply for tourist visa but i was told that the Canada don't grant visa based on tourist unless you have a host that will give you invitation letter; please can you give me more detail on the issue.
That's untrue dear. It's just hard to get the visa regardless of whether you have a host or not.

A family friend applied and just booked hotel accommodation and she got 4 years.
Canada, in my opinion just want to see very strong ties to your home country as it's easy to settle down in their country.
All the best.

Wow all of u that stayed with host for more than a month are the real MVPs TBH!!! Happy sunday everyone ..
It's not easy for both parties especially people like us that took toddlers.
I can't count how many potential hosts; some family, some friends that point blank told me to leave my son in Nigeria as they won't be able to take care of him when I'm in the hospital.

Sometimes, you'll 'mu oju kuro' (overlook somethings).
Just hang in there especially because when you're in the hospital they will have to help you take care of your kid. You don't want to be worrying about her when you're pushing or supposed to be resting.

Pele, it's almost over.
Happy New year!

Dear vcole,

It seems you didn't read my post properly. I saw all the ones you quoted . They were more of introductions and questions but no feed back.

You applauded someone's transcript above and said that was the way to go but I never saw any of yours neither did I read about your hospital breakdown.

Happy New year once again

You are good to go dear. Now you just need to sort out your accomodation, hustle for USD up and down the place, book your doctor's appointment, search for flight ticket deals and buy now and sit tight and await the arrival of your LO.
If you wanna shop for baby stuff and sea freight to Nigeria, now will be a good time as well.
Madam vcole,
I looked through your posts and there was no time you came to share your visa transcript, the baby due in October we didn't hear about, there was a post where you were disclaiming to be an agent, you wanted to give birth in El -paso we didnt read break down/ experience. I can go on and on.
Why not be a little kinder? The person and scenario you called out was very possible no big deal about it and she was honest about her intentions. Besides, not everyone joins NL because of giving birth in America, there are loads of other resourceful threads.
It's almost New Year, biko take it easy.
Happy New year in advance.

house,

Please I need your input/advice on this issue. I have been in an argument with my host and the friends over Nigerian visa for LO.
They insist LO's does not need it, that with the blue Pali Lo is good to go. That requesting for naija visa is spending money unnecessarily. But I told them is not true and is impossible . But on a 2nd thought I decisied to bring it up here, especially now dollar is not simileing.

Has anyone tried this before?can this be true?
I think some have done it in the past and got away with it ( Naija style).
I patiently waited for the attendant Checking us in to ask for baby's visa. When she finally did and I showed her, I then asked what if baby didn't have it? She said it means baby's not going anywhere and invariably I'm not going anywhere either.
They've been asked to check that all documentation is intact before you board. Also, the American passport enables you travel to a lot if countries visa free, but not all countries.. e.g Nigeria
Hope this helps? Also, you can Google it.

Wow...40k worth of miles. That's 1st class return ticket sef. It does expire. That why it's called frequent flyer miles. For frequent travel. But when they see the frequency of travel, am sure those sort don't expire. An American in 2011 got up to 10 million miles from 6000 United flights that he started flying since 1982. How do u think he spends the miless. ..

U may wish to call the airline just in case. Who knows...they are so transferable. when you sign in.to your frequent flyer page. Some airlines place it under manage third party something something.
You don't want to know the kind of English I was speaking when I found out. Even the customer service operator was feeling sad on my behalf. I've moved on o. I think I have 9k at the moment. I don't have for Emirates and BA though I should. I don't travel as much as I used to pre- kids as we have school fees, formula and diaper etc commitments.

I even have Emirates miles I used to Florida in Feb. I fit dash you sef. Cause I doubt if I will fly emirates to US anytime soon...Except I get first class on A380.
I never knew air miles were transferable? I lost like 40k worth of miles on Virgin some years ago as I didn't fly them in 3 years. Never knew the thing expired sef.
It usually came in handy as I used to do miles+money then.

Just give birth to your baby in Nigeria, cuz even if you enter from a safe POE. It's in record that you were asked. You won't be able to renew this visa

The change of intent you read about is not for people that were pregnant and went to the embassy 'packaged' or people who 'outright lied'.

Do yourself a favor by saving yourself the embarrassment of a possible deportation / ban
Really? Thank God man is not God. Na wa o
Good evening all. I must confess I got a lot of information on this forum because I never had any info about this topic despite the fact that birthubg in the state is my dream. But I realised that the trend in the choice of hospitals and cities have changed over the years; 2011 to 2015. Moreso, from this forum I realised I suppose to have started the whole process before now. All I have is a Virgin naija passport, though I was supposed to go to Dubai last month but couldn't make it because hubby's visa wasn't ready till my leave days got exhausted. We only have tickets that we can amend to go if we have the time.

Hi,

You can start by going through @Phema,@tvegas
, @olokings, @bjgolf posts etc You'll surely get a lot of info, don't forget to have a pen and notepad handy.

For mothers in US and the preggies planning to go, kindly consider getting your diaper, wipes, baby milk, cereals and so on if you can afford them at that point. Prices of these in Naija ain't smiling now, a friend couldn't get size 3 huggies for her baby girl today in my area. Thanks again to this forum for giving us estimate of diaper one will use and checklist of what to buy when coming.
What area if I may ask? As I bought size 3 a few weeks ago for 13, 500 I think. Once we are done with this carton we are moving to 4

But sincerely, I don't get how we were entitled pls expanciate
Lmao @ buhari.....
Okay so I said that because a few years ago someone very close to me went to have her baby in the US and when they went to renew (no drop box then) the VO had seen receipts and was satisfied but then asked her why she chose to have her baby in the US she replied "I have a right to have my baby anywhere I want' na so the VO vex say you don't have a right to have your baby in the US it's a priviledge (needless to say the summer that year wasn't in the states) Sometimes we may come across as feeling entitled and not know it esp when you've done your homework and declared your intentions you may feel like you should automatically get it.
I advice you to re-apply with or without hubby it's up to both of you. Also, pray about it and answer questions asked regardless of if you feel it's relevant to the birthing intentions or not.
All the best.
