Bro..I was observing the guy from the day he said his wife ran to America with his kids and then there was another story about POE and how they'll turn him back. I knew his story was off.
It's a faceless forum so that's why he came here with lies and fake super stories. LOL

And people were genuinely concerned for him and his family. What a sad fellow!

Greetings to u all
I have been following this forum for a while but decided to ask for an advice from u all
1 am a 32 years old Businessman, and I own my own company here in Lagos. I am married and a child who is just 3 years old.
My wife and kid got a US visit visa about 6 months ago and they used it to travel and up till now, my wife and kid have not returned back to Nigeria. She told me she will not return back to Nigeria that she is adjusting her status, and that it could take her 5 years to do that as I don't understand what that means.
However, I have a valid visa too, B2, which will expire next month, but I hardly have time to travel, as I don't want to leave my company. Since my wife said I should come over to her in the US to see her if I desire to see my little son, won't I be faced with some questions at the POE, and don't u think I can be sent back to Nigeria at the POE due to the sins of my wife and kid overstaying in the US. And also, what does Adjustment of Status that my wife said means?[/b]

I told the VO I was going to Ohio when I went for my interview but unfortunately, I can't take a flight to Ohio because it will cost around 412k and I can get a flight to New York, JFK, for around 200k ( a difference of 212k) and then rake a taxi from JFK new York to Ohio which is my final destination. However, my family of 3 will be makin this trip , which means a huge difference of around 636k
Can we take the flight to JFK, then heads to Ohio by taxi ?
Won't we have issues at the POE ?
Thanks

@bolded
Wait. Last two weeks you came here to tell us that your wife ran to the US and doesn't intend to come back with your kids and you're so worried you'll never see your family again.

Fast forward two weeks later your'e traveling with your family of 3?

Hello everyone, i'm currently working on my MBA thesis in UK, i am interested in studying a DBA shortly after in the USA, though i currently have a US tourist visa, i need information on schools that don't require a GRE or GMAT as i don't want to go through that stress. Information on PhD in Public Health without GMAT or GRE requirements will also be appreciated.

Thanks as i anticipate a quick response.

Oh gre would be the least of your stress. PhD itself is stress race to the power of infinity.
To think tthat you feel gre is stress and you want to do a PhD is quite hilarious.

For goodness sake you think Norway and Sweden are not religious countries, you are truly f*cked!

3rd World countries are slaves because of collective greed. Nigeria has made enough money from oil to move itself to the level of dubai. But leaders are thieves and followers are too busy waiting for their turn to hammer so they don;t mind...
But no, keep blaming the west...who by the way you all were looking for when ebola struck..

Selective blaming.

I challenge the OP or the source to bring out the same statistic for countries like France, USA and so on, you would be shocked to find out that the more advanced the country is, the higher the Data. I don't know about the OP but common sense would tell you that there are more porn watchers in the USA than Nigeria. Simple fact: There are more people with laptops and phones in the USA than Nigeria, the internet connection is also a lot faster. Now mix that with a society where outing one's sexuality is often encouraged and what you'll have is a very perverted society.

Look at the bold part of the quote above and let it be the premise of this discussion. The statistic is based on relativity to other searches from the same country. Could this high ratio be due to the fact that majority of Nigerians hardly make use of Google search? Could it be that we have more people focused on social media than actually looking for answers on the net or could it be that as a society we are still naive in regards to what homosexuality and pornography means and the only way to educate ourselves is to search for answers on the internet? Anyway anyhow, the statistic is skewed and there's no cause for alarm, Nigeria still remains one of the more cultured countries in the world and certainly not as wayward as the more advanced countries out there!

You just yarned eloquent dust.
This sociological research has been carried out and validated.
Your opinion is just what it is...... Shyte.

Oh BTW, before you go on your perverted society tirade, you should probably go check the so called society of morals in the world religious countries and see how they ccompare with Western civilization like Norway and Sweden

thank you Big Boss.
First: did you contact potential supervisors (Professors) before applying for admission?
2: were you admitted based on your B.Sc grade or both B.Sc and MSc?
3: what's d ideal GRE score range (STEM courses) for admission to a mid-ranked US uni?
4: what's the name of your Uni and is your program fully funded?

1. No. Not necessarily in the pharmaceutical field. But in biomolecular sciences, it is very common. I advice you to check grad cafe for forums in your field for intending PhD students. They have good resources that can help you.
2. I have a Bachelor of pharmacy degree. Didn't have a masters before getting admitted to the PhD program. Also, I have research experience.
3. Ideal GRE score is >310. This is subjective because the whole application is usually looked at. So one area doesn't determine who gets in or not
The idea is to have a good application overall. Unfortunately, gre scores are a good indicator of intelligence to admission officers so you just got to have a good GRE score.
4. Answered already.

Good luck

Hello great people. I just want to ask if anyone here is running a funded PhD program in any US university. I am currently concluding my MS program in Nigeria and would like to proceed to the US for a PhD in Plant Pathology/Microbiology. I just want to ask these questions:
First, did you contact a potential supervisor before applying (I have sent a couple of emails with no positive feedback).
Second, if no, how did you go about the admission process? (Note: I wrote the GRE test last year scoring 307, but the score isn't too great for a PhD position I assume)

I am.
Do you have specific questions?
Type them here.
Cheers.

P. 'S Bigfrancis21 wrote a note about contacting potential supervisors some time ago. The key is to show competence in research, show that you have read the professors work, and also not hint about being desperate for funding. It's a fine line.
Once again, if you have specific questions I'd be happy to answer.

I try to distance myself from anything related to trolling toddlers. Though they were all of the same "tag team" in the beginning but what happened to stevecrun is called defamation of personality and is liable to punishment under U.S law. Equally, stevecrun releasing vital personal info trusted to him is tantamount to a bigger punishment and such consequence he received.

On no ground should any personal info in your care ever be shared with other people. I deal with many people of different stories on here and I don't share their stories with no other person.

Finally, VOs shouldn't be blamed whenever they refused application, they're only trying to prevent miscreants claiming to be students from entering and polluting more their country, but it's sad when genuine students with good intentions are taken for raffs. I don't see anything student like in them all.

Well said man

Guys, when applying for GA spot is it advisable to apply to different departments at the same time? Just thinking if one could spread one's risk. I do not want to ask my advisor so I do not give him a bad impression.

cc: bbdd, bigfrancis21, biikeys, imperiouxx, slimmy05.

It depends on if your program is giving you or not and the number of hours.
If your program is giving you a GA that's 20hrs/week then you can't do another.
If you get a GA that's just 10 hrs /week then you can find another.
Keep the number of hours in mind so you don't "officially" violate the rule because your school is watching since the GA will be on campus.

Well I have also attended international conference (kinda).
bro pls guide me on how to proceed and make my app stronger..

So first off, you're applying to too few schools.
If you're looking for funding, you have to cast your net wide because stories will arise. I can assure you.
Some schools will give their stories at the last minute, some will tell you early.
So I advice you to apply to a minimum of 6 schools.

You can get full funding and stipends. We have done it. We don't have two heads.

Also, forward your sop to me.
Another thing you must package your app well. Or else it goes into the bin.

Your gre is kinda low. That's the only thing I'm worried about your app but it's still doable.

Believe.
