IGP RINGIM SECRETLY MOVES PROPERTY FROM OFFICIAL RESIDENCE 23/01/2012 12:52:00 Embattle Inspector General of Police has secretly started moving personal effects from his Maitama, Abuja official residence as investigations into his involvement in the escape of kabir Sokoto, the alleged Christmas Day Bomb suspect intensifies. Sources in the police confided in pointblanknews.com that already, two black marias (Police Trucks) were sited last week moving stuff out of the residence. A domestic staff that witnessed the movement told Pointblanknews.com that cash and other valuables including documents were part of items moved from the Maitama residence of the out-going Inspector General of Police. “We moved documents and some personal belongings. I know some sealed boxes and cartons I suspect contain cash and other valuables were also part of the things we moved,” the domestic staff who does not want his name mentioned told Pointblanknews.com. Asked if the IGP is aware he may not last long as the Police Chief, the source said, “from his body language, I think he knows because even from his office, he has been moving items to his private house somewhere in Abuja.” Source further hinted Pointblanknews.com that the NSA’s report from its investigation of Ringim will be damning but to give him a soft-landing, he might just be retired. Ringim who is due to retire from the Police is currently under investigation by the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA, over his alleged complicity in the escape of Sokoto. Sources hinted that very top-level government officials of northern extraction masterminded the escape of Sokoto. They include some members of the Federal Executive Council, Governors, Senators, Emirs, House of Representatives members, top military and police officers. It explains why the suspect was kept at Wuse 7, under Police Commissioner Zakari Biu, instead of Force CID, Area 10 or Force Headquarters, and why he was transported to far away Abaji with lax security (six police officers) at night. Sokoto, it was further gathered, has a truckload of information that would have indicted very many top government officials. According to our source, Ringim, Biu, and some top Government officials of the Borno State Government know Sokoto and are weary of exposing him to series of interrogation that may indict highly placed individuals from the North. http://pointblanknews.com/new/exclusive/3524-igp-ringim-secretly-moves-property-from-official-residence.html |
The protests were hijacked and about to turn sinister before the army rolled into town. Even NLC and TUC guys gave their reason for calling off the strike as due to security. From the Friday when they suspended the strike, they had begun to add the caveat that they were not part of those calling for regime change. Boko haram even released a message in support of #Occupy. Unfortunately, Lagosians were used. |

dustydee:You have not stated the exact nature of your problem. Is it that you don't know where to start with communicating with a USB device? If so, you can use the generic native Windows USB driver (Winusb.sys). If you are comfortable with C++, then this is a good resource: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff540174(v=vs.85).aspx If C# or VB.NET are your thing, you could try this wrapper lib around Winusb.sys: http://code.google.com/p/winusbnet/ If you want infrared, bluetooth and objectExchange, try a really mature library like 32feet.NET (http://inthehand.com/content/32feet.aspx) |
^ No joy will ever come from a terrorist "fighting" for you. When the battle is over, you will be next to be consumed. Fight your battles yourself. DONkollione:They thought NLC was going to do their dirty work for them, but the NLC guys called off the strike citing SECURITY ISSUES! I believe they got the entire picture that they were being used. |
success4:Dude, phuck off. I'm not interested in any sort of ignorant debate with those who argue stup!dly for the sake of it. 1. AUTONOMY OF THE BANK (SECTION 1(3)http://www.cenbank.org/out/publications/pressrelease/gov/2007/pr3-7-07.pdf I guess these days every rat catcher, rewire and hunter knows more about CBN than its legal team. |
Kx:When was it 60billion? Cos GEJ inherited about 33billion. |
^ The CBN is independent. It is not governed by PDP, CPC, ANPP, APGA or ACN, so I guess you need to reeducate yourself, sir. ![]() Demdem:To acheive what, bruv? I don't get your question. However, what we should really be looking at is how to the CBN to untie oil sales from physical dollars. If the oil price crashes today, Nigeria and the Naira will sink like a stone. The entire oil market is upside down, the subsidy was just the tail alone of a huge beast; we are looking at a country that is on the highway to perdition with its citizens urging the driver belt straight ahead, all done in innocent ignorance. Put simply, CBN shouldn't be so tied to oil and the dollar shouldn't be so tied to CBN. Even the worst communist country doesn't run such a backward system. Nigeria is crying out for reforms and TOTAL RESTRUCTURING. True federalism. |
“Our prophet told us, do not attack the innocent, women, children and the old, only fight back in self defence, this the teaching of our prophet and that’s exactly what we are doing,” he said.http://nationalaccordnewspaper.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4374:we-didnt-bomb-madalla-church--boko-haram-&catid=35:national-news&Itemid=63 This is boko haram during the id!otic #Occupy movement to destabilise Nigeria. |
alj harem:You are a fool. At the time we were telling people that your id!otic #Occupy was being done in collusion with boko haram to destabilise Nigeria, few believed. But we knew what we were talking about. This is the second time boko haram has publicly shown interest in #Occupy. |
Experts at the Financial Derivatives Company Limited (FDC) attributed the inability of the reserves to record significant accretion despite the relatively high oil prices, and crude oil production to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s use of the reserves to meet the demand gap of forex at the Wholesale Dutch Auction System (WDAS).The bolded is the major reason for the huge drops in our external reserves. It is also the reason for the deprecation of the Naira against the Dollar. The demand for dollars in the forex market was largely driven by fraudulent subsidy requests; therefore, the sharp rise in reserves is directly connected to the removal of the old subsidy system. |
nku5:The bolded is just like you read my mind. Those suspected of boko haram ties can be quietly hit in one week. |
blindcopy:Dude, I am not into the "respect" thing. Opinions differ on various issues and must be expressed freely. Also, people are various things that are not immediately obvious. what I do with my time is entirely my business. No? |
The Special thing about it is that it only runs without any Internet Connection using a complex algorithm which keeps an eye on the flow of data packets between two hosts. Acidosis:You can inject them with certain kinds of "stuff" that will make them begin singing hymns and the deepest secrets of Solomon. Lets hope our SSS has such goodies. |
namfav:How do you know the woman wasn't shooting? |
Odunnu:. . .Says an angel. ![]() Tell me about it sha. If not for civilisation, many of those old bats and fetid pits would have been done by now. |
Are you kidding me?? Ali Mungono should be arrested immediately and placed under arrest with other captured BH members! How dare he second guess the government in this matter? Our armed forces and police are capable of protecting our country the way the've protected Kano, Abuja, Bornu, and other areas ko? I suppose the funds he looted when he was Petroleum Minister has not yet been exhaused. I'd place the man under investigation and arrest his A$s if I were GEJ. Nonsence and ingredients!
The bolded is what caught my attention too. Where did Ali Mungono get the boldness to speak authoritatively about something the govt has not yet done? It would seem like he is carrying out some sort of underhand campaign to swivel minds and get in foreign extremists.df2006:Lets watch and wait patiently. |
kingoflag:No, I'm not. At least, no just yet. Please can you explain how you can tell from that picture that the bullet hole in the door was from a shot at point blank range, because I am confused at your conclusion. You see, firstly, why would anyone shoot through metal at point blank range when there are windows all round? Now, the above is peripheral to ho you can tell from the hole that it was a point blank shot. By what magic have you been able to divine the muzzle velocity of the fired gun from a mere picture? By what shamanic force were you able to know the size of the bullet? Also what voodoo was employed, sir for you to know the type of bullet and the angle of the shot? You see, these things and a few more are required for anyone to reach a conclusion that is not from cuckoo land. Frankly, you amaze me, sir. |
Some really encouraging moves, but the US must go the long haul and declare boko haram a terrorist group, so that all power can fall on their grizzy arses. |
kingoflag:Lets assume you were wrong on a topic at the time, and lets also assume you are wrong now. History repeats. I don't know why being wrong makes you so angry and obnoxious. Why not just say, "my bad" and move on? You got real issues, bro. |
BlackPikiN:Not just Rhino, but Negro_NTS, Gbawe and Omo_Tier1. People who spread falsehoods and make grand statements about boko haram. If they are really good, they will also find that somebody on NL threatened suicide bombings and destabilisation right here on NL, long before any Nigerian thought it was possible. He was extremely bitter that GEJ became President. |
kingoflag:You are not making the slightest bit of sense. "Special wires?" If you can tell what is in those cans, I certainly can't. I do not make pretence to x-ray vision or other fangled super-human powers like some of you. |
@kingoflag Abeg, this is how you carried on arguing stubbornly that aviation fuel is not kerosene (even after being shown chemical formula's). So the vehicle is too cramped to explode? All I see is a car that came to a sudden hault, maybe slammed into a wall or slammed on its brakes. Next thing you will argue that the hole in the car door is too round to have been made by a bullet. Keep to stuff you know. Thank you. |
US to upgrade Nigerian security services On January 25, 2012 · In News By Victoria Ojeme ABUJA—The Federal Government and its U.S. government are set to collaborate in training, sharing of intelligence and modernisation of security services and logistics, following threats posed to the nation’s internal security by the Boko Haram Islamic sect. Rising from a meeting between officials of both countries in Abuja, under the aegis of U.S-Nigeria Bi-National Commission, US Deputy Assistant Secretary for African Affairs, Mr. William Fitzgerald, said the commitment would cover repositioning the Nigeria security services to respond appropriately to security challenges and threats in the country. He said the technical sub-working group of the meeting will continue to meet in Abuja to explore development of a Nigerian intelligence fusion capability. Fitzgerald said the talks will be coordinated through the US Embassy in Abuja, in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant Nigerian agencies. He said: “Both sides re-affirmed their commitment to enhance the operatio-nal capabilities of Nige-ria’s security services.” by identifying avenues that would enable them to respond appropriately to internal security challenges and other threats. “Prominent areas of collaboration may include training, intelligence sharing, modernisation of the security services, logistics and other requirements. “Nigeria and the United States governments resolved to participate in more sustained working level engagement and cooperation on security matters, through the United States Embassy in Abuja, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant security agencies. “Finally, both the Nigerian and US governments agreed to follow-up on these commitments and seek further collaboration to address the challenges that have been identified during the meeting. “Both countries welcome the involvement of civil society, community-level organisations and other stakeholders in the next meeting of the Regional Security Cooperation Working Group.” Speaking on the occasion, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Martin Uhomoibhi, said: “Government would continue to sensitise Nigerians on the need to take issue of security as responsibility of all, and not that of the security agencies alone. “This is a national responsibility, a responsibility to be discharged by all Nigerians and indeed all residents in the territorial state of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/01/us-to-upgrade-nigerian-security-services/ |
OAM4J:I think we should stop this ITK on NL. Why is there a clear bullet hole in the car door then? ITK is a dangerous thing. As for king of lags querying of the dead man's grimy state. If you ever get the chance to visit Nigeria and see the average almajiri, you would understand. Also, do you think explosives look like stuff bought at Tesco? Who told you the cans are filled with gasoline? Or that the cords you see are tubes, not wires or just plain cords? |
The best thing is for Nigeria to go totally wild and invade Niger, Chad and Cameroun. Even if for only one day. That sort of action would make those govts sit up and think twice about the creatures they are turning a blind eye against. |
There are 10 million almajiri's! ![]() |
The arrests by JTF is very good news, they should just ensure that the boko harams are handed straight to the SSS. Any attempt to hand them over to police will end up a very expensive joke. |
These are bastar'ds we expect to fight boko haram. 90% of them should be lined up and shot. ![]() |
Wole Soyinka's attendance was an error of judgement. He really shouldn't have been at a meeting with CPC stalwarts. He has the clout to organise his own grouping that is completely devoid of politicians and includes men like Keyamo, Agbakoba etc; people who have proven over and over that they truly love the country. |
Wole Soyinka avoided the most important issue. In his brilliant writeup, he is correct that there are both “unwashed masses” (almajiri's) and the " the polished face of fanaticism." He has not told us the factors that watered the ground that these societal weeds have flourished on. That is a gaping hole in the article and a yawning gap in his thesis. The factors that have led to the building of almajiri armies are mistrust, low self esteem, fear of the unknown and the lack of a sense of belonging. Every last one of these items can be directly traced back to an "anything goes" national structure where chaos reigns supreme and the biggest, corrupt, most cruel and most ugly thrive to the detriment of the poor, weak and upright. The root cause of all Nigeria's problems is our chaotic system that promotes impunity with its lack of organisational structure; impunity in turn promotes crime and corruption. In areas where poverty is most endemic, chaos is also at its peak and religious fervour takes root as the provider of hope, security and purpose in life. Religious extremism in Northern Nigeria has only been emphasised and reemphasised by unending poverty, despair, hopelessness and the wickedness of sections of its elite who take advantage of our entropic system to prey on the weak and abandoned. We are now at the watershed where decades of running a shambolic system have now burst their banks in a torrid tsunami of blood, gore and death. Boko haram would not be possible in an organised society where there are laws, due process and every individual is valued. Yes, boko haram must be neutralised as a military force, but the answer is in restructuring the nation along the lines of true federalism and true representation of the citizen. After that, we must grant an amnesty to their elite to sink into the background and let new blood come forth; also we must unleash a programme of massive education in the North (how to all win these? Their federating units will remain dependent on the South, thats a vital bargaining chip). This window is open to GEJ right now, but it cannot be achieved in a mere 3 years. It is more of a long term thing. |
